As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
I went for a night search with Simon from Maps looking for my own cache at the the Gordon Patrick Samuel coordinates. Unfortunatly we could not locate it so I must close it down until I can get back with a replacement. Even without a cache to find it is still a worthwhile place to visit. Lots of "critters" at night!
Sorry but must record a DNF for this one.
I had the whole area to myself in the early morning so was able to make quite a search. I found rubbish and other things but no cache to be seen.
This was all after I went up and down the river in the car to try and find a way over here.

Thought I'd use my extensive local knowledge to drive and walk in straight to the cache. I then drove straight to the wrong side of the river!
After the detour I walked in (suprised at the number of mugglers walking up and down the track) but I was not able to locate the cache in its new location with the time I had available.
Try again in a few days.

cache moved due to Muggles destroying it. Will advise Alex of the new co-ords.
I have changed the Coordinates to reflect its new position. Thanks Gordon Patrick Samuel for changing the nappy.
Great walk along the reserve. Pity about the cache being muggled. Filled in log book. Gordon Patrick Samuel took over and fixed cache.
Out for a casual stroll with Parrothead and Skippy and enjoying the ambience, when we noticed the cache bucket sitting on top of a log in the open. Alarm signals rang out, especially as there were several kids in the area. The kids followed us and sat in the grass sniggering as they watched us.
We opened the semi closed lid of the bucket and were knocked away by the smell. Someone had taken the log book out of the bag and put (human??) faeces in there instead! The kids scarpered!
We removed the bucket and placed it in an area a bit further up the track that hopefully will give it some more protection.
Please continue down the track to the end (it's not much further) to check out the views and the intention of this cache. You may even be clever enough to see the string that tied the bucket to it's original position.

Thanks Alex for showing us this interesting spot!

Nice walk to the cache, found some young muggles nearby and I think they know something about this cache.

Thanks alex and it was the last cache event we were talking about this location where the 2 rivers join.

A great spot for a walk. We were surprised to see the cache sitting up on a log in full view of anyone walking past. Nothing seemed to be missing or out of place, so we re-hid the cache so that it couldn't be seen.
A top spot, Thanks Alex.

[Located @ 10:55 By Suitman & Private Ryan. Had a good run in through the scrub & reeds, and located the cache without too much trouble.] Looks like a large tree has "given up the ghost" and fallen over onto the cache.
[Cleaned up the site and ensured all was well with the cache.
Took : Hamburgler Toy

Might have been smart of me to de-crypt the clue before going in....
Parked in a nearby vacant lot, but with dogs on three side going spastic and neighbour starting to look at the strange car with out-of-state plates, I decided to pay it off.
Maybe next time...

Had a lovely walk.
Saw kookaburras, cormorants and various parrots. Very pleased not to see any snakes. One very flash houseboat was moored along the way. Cache was fairly well hidden and untouched since the Geomonkeys visit.
Took small pink tennis ball, left plastic octopus.
Thanks Alex (and Geomonkeys).

cache 21/45 for my big trip.
Well. another case for .. "GeoMonkeys cache rescue"
I had read that this cache had ben found a few days ( months) before my trip, and that it was pretty much empty, and scattered everywhere.
So i took along an ample supply of new items, and a log book, and pen, and refilled the still intact and good condition container.
fantastic location, although the cache contaier was in fairly plain view, so i took it on myself to hide it under some pieces of fallen bark and leaf litter, just to conceal it a little better.
I cleaned up all the trash, which was lall that remained of the ooriginal content, and maed the area look a little more 'natural'.
this is an intresting place, with a little bit of history, and geography lessons thrown in, take a walk along the opposite side too, to get great views of the river juntions.

This cache has been pillaged. The plastic bucket is still tied up and there are bits of paper about, but the contents are gone.
Nice view anyway.
Nice view anyway.
Found approx 5pm by reverb. Almost in our 'backyard', but not our first find. A nice walk thru this area on another warmish Sunraysia Summer day. Accompanied by all the clan but they decided to turn back when the reed grass started getting too long and thick - and the thought of snakes crossed our minds. Well worth the walk....Nothing exchanged.

Found by Mary & David at 1745. Nearly sunset, a beautiful time of day for a walk along the river. Kookaburras, cockatoos, magpies and, of course, too many pelicans to count. Enjoyed links to the past with the canoe tree and the few remaining river red gums. The present was well represented with all the boating and commercial activity on and around the rivers, while the future seemed to involve diminishing water resources. Found the cache rather exposed and not tied up, while the contents seemed a bit depleted - there was an empty snap-lock bag close by. We took a map reading guide and left a pack of model car stickers. Re-tied the cache and tried to conceal it and its anchor tie a little better. Thanks for a wonderful spot Alex.
Found at 1.35PM. A very interesting location which we would never have visited but for the cache. It was rather exposed and had obviously been found several times by non-geocachers so we made sure it was better concealed when we left. Nothing exchanged. Greg and Bev
Cache 9 of Liz and Bruce's week away of sight seeing and caching. It was a lovely walk, there had just been a shower of rain and the eucalypt smelt great. The cache is in good condition, we took the USA handbook and left an Adelaide Oval membership medal.

Found by The Gasman. A very pleasant afternoon's stroll along the banks to the cache. Still there, in reasonable nick and appears to have survived any flooding during the spring. Left some 3D glasses (from Abandoned Armour) and took the beer mug. Thanks Alex!
Visited this cache and replaced the container. It is getting a lot of non-logged visits from the locals.
Found by Ray and Maya (Nomads) on Wednesday the 22nd of August 2001 at 1:45 PM. We found the cache without difficulty. Unfortunately the container has been broken and the contents were wet. We dried it out as best we could, and when we had finished exchanging items, we placed the cache in a plastic bag. This should keep the rain off, but will not protect the cache if the area becomes flooded. We swapped a packet of traveller tissues for a pinball key chain. Thanks, Ray and Maya.
