Millenium Tree
Greeley Park
Nashua, New Hampshire, USA
This Millenium Tree was planted in Nashua's Greeley Park as a sapling by the Nashua 2000 Millenium Committee back in the year 2000. The tree is located not too far away from another of the Millenium Committee's projects, "The Millenium Child."
We found out about this millenium tree back in September, and had planned to wait to log it until spring, when the tree's plaque should be replaced. (The plaque was a victim of vandalism earlier this year.) However, due to the upcoming extinction of all locationless caches, we will need to log this Millenium Tree now, rather than wait until the plaque is replaced.
Thanks for the interesting locationless cache!

We were so excited to find these millennium trees tonight, we had to log them now. We will get better pictures in the daytime tomorrow.
These trees are titled "Circle of Trees - A Millennium Time Piece" and were placed in Woodbine Park as part of the City of Toronto's Millenium Project. The interesting part is that one of the seven trees is a cast bronze maple tree created by artist Laurie McGugan.
We promise to include pictures of the actual trees tomorrow.
Night-time pictures have been replaced by day-time ones.

I stopped by tonight to get a picture to log this locationless cache. I drive by it everyday on the way to and from work. I just realized that it can be logged.
Here is some info on the park. park is located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
The Millennium Grove covers an approximate area of 1.23 hectares (3 acres). Trees are arranged on an arc pattern representing the typical growth rings of trees, and will be spaced to allow each species to grow to their full form. There are forty-three (43) native species represented in the Grove. Over thirty species were planted in 2000, the rest of the trees were planted in two subsequent events which took place in 2001, 2002. Once the Grove is complete, there will be other opportunities to plant some of the more sensitive Carolinian species in the valley and other open areas in the park.
I have always wanted to try out my night mode on my camera.

This is one of approx. 950 trees, which were being planted in the year of 2000 for every millenium child born in our little town Wolfsburg, Lower saxony, Germany.
For families without own premises the trees were planted on a public meadow. This tree of Dennis Khaled, born on Jan. 14, 2000 is located on the public meadow. Thanx to granvilleisland for the cache.
Regards!

I found this tree on an caching Tour near Haan in NRW Germany, its an over 250 Year old oak.
CULLINGWORTH, KEIGHLEY, WEST YORKSHIRE, UK
Before going to Yorkshire to visit family, I did research to see if there were any millennium trees. I found that there was a silver birch next to the War Memorial in Cullingworth. It was planted in April 2000 by the 1st Cullingworth Rainbows and Brownies.
When I visited Cullingworth, I found the war memorial with no problems. There are 3 trees in this enclose area, two are very old and are not birch. The third is a silver birch and appears to be of the right age. There was no plaque to coinfirm this. I've photographed the tree with the memorial in the background, and can provide the following link about its planting

Found this nice Millenium tree in Wiesbaden-Frauenstein.
Will add the pictures later today as well as the nice story around that tree.
According to the name it is over 1000 years old (a real millenium tree) but I question if you can trust such old info. May it is older may younger. Anyway very interesting tree in nice surrounding.
Thanks
Alpini

After several trees preported to be of turn of the century planting, I finally found one that matched the description of what I was looking for AND had a sign.
102 South Columbia Street.
Rincon, Georgia
A "Flowering Dogwood" planted in front of the Vines Community Center on February 16, 2001 as part of a state wide celebration of the new Millennium.
Thanks, Johann Panholtz

We found the millenium plaque and trees at Fish Creek Provincial Park in Calgary Canada. The trees were planted in 2000 to celebrate the lives of many people. Check out the plaque, GPS coords and the trees. TFTH.
This tree although fake was built at Longleat. England to celebrate the Millenium.
We were in Columbus for the U.S.-Mexico World Cup qualifying game over Labor Day weekend. Our first sightseeing stop was at the Topiary Garden at Deaf School Park in Downtown Columbus. Walking around the gardens, we found this tree planted on April 29, 2000. By coincidence, that date was the 50th birthday of a SoccerFanatics family member. Pictures of the plaque and one of us with GPS at the tree are below.
This tree is found right my the Greenwich meridian in south London UK
No one about cause it was a bank holiday today
Hope you like the pic

Close to where I live is a over thousand year old lime tree. Unfortunately there is no plaque but it is mentioned in the chronic and on the website of the village: Petershausen-Obermarbach. The villiage itself is located about 30 km north of Munich in Germany. You won't find anything interesting except this tree and a nice landscape. It's simpley in the middle of nowhere.
