I found this Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker on east-bound Hwy 70 east of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
Another one of the many Blue Star Memorial Highway Stars on Rt. 41 in Sarasota, FL. On Sarasota Bay, surrounded by Million Dollar Condo Buildings.
Thanks, Tom and Chickie

This marker is located at a rest area on the southbound side of I-69 in Indiana. Lady Elwood got hit with a little morning sickness so I pulled into this rest area. When thigns calmed down and she went in to clean herself up a litte, I noticed this sign right in front of us. Talk about dmb luck!!
So here it is.
So here it is.
My 37th find.
On 12/8 & 12/13/05 I did 2 caches in my local village ... both Reverse Locationless, Home town & dash for the cache target # 43, cornerstone.
BOTH had me within feet (or across the street) from this BLUE STAR plaque. I spotted it the other day as my GF was driving home. Today I was @ CVS & just had to walk over & SEE what it was ... YUP IT is a "Blue Star Memorial Marker"
BRAND NEW, I believe (was told) it has been there about 2 months. on Saw Mill River Road (Route 9A) Southbound side
IT was getting cold & windy & there was some traffic, also w/ this marker being ground level (as the pix show) I did not get a pic of ME w/ the marker. I got pix of it & of course my GPS w/ it.
I will get a pic of me w/ it if not tomorrow then over the weekend & add that pic to the log

This Blue Star Marker was placed at Ft Carson, Colorado in November 2005. Brand new!! Kit Carson Park.
Found a Blue Star marker in Columbia SC on the corner of Lincoln and Calhoun streets.
Sorry for the delay in posting. Been moving the past week and a half.
Found this on Highway 70 East about 4 miles from Goldsboro, NC.
Pics posted. Sorry for the ones form the car. Was cold and rainy .

This is in New Castle, Indiana, along Highway 38, near it's intersection with HW 3. The sign is at the edge of a small roadside park called Your Park. There is talk of the park being sold and turned into a restaraunt, so the marker may be removed in the near future.
Located at a rest stop we frequent while traveling North on I-5 in Washington state located just north of Everett. We homeward bound after a day of caching in nearby Marysville. Hard to see the GPS on top of the sign in the fist pic...so did another so get the GPS into it.
Found this one while stopping along I-44 near Springfield, MO. We were headed down to Oklahoma for a Skating/Birthday Party for one of the daughters. TFTC Rock-6
Found this in a rest area on I-64 at the bottom of Afton Mountain in Virginia, that has been closed for quite awhile. When it opened back up, they had put in a marker.

Found this one as we were driving west on 90 through Hondo, TX. He-Devil didn't give She-Devil the benefit of a countdown, so she was talking as he took the pic. Hence the goofy look on her face. TFTC!
Part of my summer job as a teen was picking up trash in the park nearby this marker. It is located in the Eastside Park on Hwy. 64 in Ozark, Arkansas in Franklin County. In the picture on opposite side of the Hwy. is a very busy baseball and youth football field. The Chamber of Commerce bldg. (not in the image) sits behind this marker and I believe it is on the National Register of Historic Places.
This Bluestar Memorial Marker is a reference for a benchmark that sits within 15 feet of the sign. Thanks for the cache.

I couldn't believe it when I saw this Blue Star Marker and, after getting home to check, found it to be un logged. My first locationless cache. Found while showing Nancois Multnomah Falls just east of Portland, Oregon. This is the old Highway 30 (Columbia River Gorge Scenic HWY) which runs parallel to I-84. Thanks!

This marker is located on the west side Redwood Drive at the north end of town in Garberville, CA. Historically, this used to be US 101 before the town was bypassed. I grew up in this area and have driven by this location a zillion times. I suppose it's a little obscure, but I'm surprised that it hasn't been logged. It's just under a two hour drive north of the posted coordinates for the cache itself between Ukiah and Willits. Thanks.

This is a Blue Star in central Maine location very near a historic Dam site. It is a nice rive side drive.
We found this marker in Carrabelle, FL, in a diminutive triangle park at the intersection of three roads, the main one being Avenue A, which runs along Carrabelle's waterfront. The sign says it is sponsored by the Yaupon Garden Club or Carrabelle, in cooperation with the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and the Florida Dept. of Transportation.
Found this while out searching for another cache. Located on the Illinois Veterans Home grounds in Quincy, IL.
Plaque at the foot of the marker says: "This marker dedicated by GCI as a tribute to Gary and Kathy Rewerts for their untiring efforts to perpetuate the Blue Star Markers in the State of Illinois"

This marker is in front of Louisiana State University in Shreveport's main entrance along Hwy 1.
This marker was placed here when the bank was built about a year and a half ago.
Glad to finally have the "Locationless" icon.
Sorry for the error in posting! This spot is located off of hwy 133 on the Moultrie Bypass. Since the Bypass is only about 2 miles long, this will not be hard to find for someone looking for it!
Thanks!

This sign is for a Blue Star Memorial By Way placed in Holiday Park, Indianapolis, Indiana by the Central Indiana Gardening Club.
Came across this one while search for a cache in the La. welcome center on the Texas/La line along eastbound I-20. I am travelling so it may be a week before I can get the pic uploaded, but I'll get it as soon as I can.
Found with Pika Wants Cake. We were on our way back to St Louis from visiting family in Georgia. TNLNSL. TFTC!
This marker is located between Silverdale and Bremerton Washington where Fairgrounds Road intersects with Tracyton Boulevard.
As a member of the Trilogy of Terror, I found this with Check4Cache and The AlinoRhino. I have driven past this marker several times.
Blue Star Memorial Marker on I-287 N in New Vernon, NJ. Nice place for a rest, a pee, and then a cache.
I was sure this one was taken, so I wrote to the blue star folks about a list of markers, this is what they said: "Dear Sir: Your request about the location of Blue Star Memorial markers was forwarded to me, the California Blue Star Memorial chairman, from our state president. Since your address is in the Bay Area the closest marker for you to photograph is located at the Golden Gate Bridge, US 101 north bound viewpoint. It was relocated and still has a view of the bridge in the background". They closed the rest area for about 6 months and revamped it, this is the new location of the marker... woo hoo!
In Indianapolis,IN

Blue Star marker in Memorial Park, Wauconda, IL. It's at the corner of Main St. and IL-176.
On our way to Putnam Co. Indiana to avoid the massive traffic going to the Covered Bridge Festival in Park Co.
West bound 1-70, west of Indianapolis.

Thanks for the cache.

found this Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker...and forgot that there was a regular geocache right nearby !! oh well.... on a geo-trip from New York.... This marker was found right next to the MossyRock Dam on US Route 12, near MossyRock, Washington. I've spotted three Blue star markers on my travels here in the Pacific Northwest... but the other two had already been logged....

This plaque is just off of Hwy 49 in Washington, Louisiana, a historic riverfront town that is quite picturesque
I found this small marker in Cumberland, Maine. I was looking for another cache and came upon it. It's in front of the local library.
I found this Blue Star just South of Arkansas City, KS a few miles North of the KS / OK state line. I had been looking for one all along Hwy 77 from Winfield, and if I did not see one, I knew of one in Ponca City I could try to locate. I was driving South and saw a sign that pointed to a Historical Marker. It looked like a Blue Star, but it was not, but just 50 or so ft North from that marker was the Blue Star.
I had a job to do in Loris today and when I got there the streets were blocked with a town festival. So, I weaved around through back streets until I got to my destination. When leaving, I took a different, more direct, route out of town and there it was the Blue Star Memorial Highway marker. I would never have found this if it wasn't for the festival blocking my usual route in and out of town. Thanks for the fun.
Have been looking for an unfound Blue Star Marker for this cache for quite some time. Found this on my way to West Virginia for a family wedding. Thought I wouldn't be able to log it when I found another logged on I-64 in WV. Turns out this is probably "the other one" that cacher mentions in his log. Coords are totally different. I was traveling alone and no one else was at the rest area when I stopped so no picture of me, just the marker. Will post pictures soon. I cannot find the card reader and have to wait for my husband to return from his golf game. TFTC
This one is near the foot of the Dupont bridge on hwy 98 in eastern Bay County Florida. If you come here at the right time you might see Eagles and Raptors (F-15's and F/A-22's) flying together.
This Bluestar marked is on Rt 1 just across the bridge in Bucksport, ME. We spotted several signs in ME, but this one was easy to stop at (and there was another cache nearby).
1400/Charleston, South Carolina/i have been wanting to bag this one for awhile now and it seems that i have been the first to find this Blue Star Marker across from Northwood Mall.
This marker is at the PUC building at Jantzen Beach just north of Portland, Oregon, off of I-5. It was placed in cojunction with a gardening club. The flowers are beautiful, especially given that it is October. The ODOT lanscape crew plants and maintains this every year.
I stumbled onto this marker while scouting possible cache locations. It is located along US 98 in Parker, FL, just outside of Tyndall Air Force base. TFTH.
We found this little star on our way to see family. Found in Lafayette, LA. TFTC

We managed to snatch this one right out from under the nose of digndirt, a local cacher who has some kind of sixth sense about locationless caches and where to find them. He is going to be so annoyed when he reads this log!! Oh well, sometimes youth and exuberance actually *do* prevail over old age and treachery. Bahahaha!

The Blue Star Memorial Highway marker located on the front lawn of the Roane County Courthouse US 33 Spencer, WV. This marker was dedicated on September 22, 2005. The Blue Star marker is not expected to be permanent fixture on the courthouse lawn. Plans call for it to be relocated once the Ruby Bradley Bridge in downtown Spencer is replaced with a new bridge, a project that is currently in the planning stages. Will upload pic later.

Sapple and I found this on our way home from an afternoon of caching. It caught my eye and we turned around. I was surprised to see that this one was not logged. This was sponsored by the Garden Club of North Carolina and the Happy Hours Garden Club, Claremont North Carolina. This is along Highway 70.
We found this marker at a rest stop on I-40 westbound, near Marion, NC. It's in a nice little garden area. We were actually stopping for a cache in this area & were very fortunate to nab this one.
This marker for the Blue Star Highway is located beside the Florence National Cemetery in Florence, SC.
This Blue Star Memoral is located in SoCal on Hy 58 Between Four Corners and Mojave near Edwards AFB, CA. BFN

Having traveled the Blue Star Highway from Nebraska down towards Kansas in 1999 and 2001 on cross bicycle trips, I knew the marker I was look for.
Fairbanks, Alaska also has a marker dedicated to the WWII Veterans and given Fairbanks' importance during WWII it is a marker much needed. Located next the Noel Wien Library in downtown Fairbanks, it will hopefully server as a small reminder to the sacrifices of so many.

On our way back from a pleasant day in the hills of Vermont, spotted this marker and HAD to turn around and log it. Route 4 in Enfield, NH. Marker is close to the intersection of Interstate 89.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for the list by State. That made it SOOOO easy to figure out if we had found a "new" one or not. We plotted 2 at the same time, one on each side of the 301 bridge between Maryland and Virginia. The Virginia side was already logged but the Maryland side wasn't. We had to park off of the road and hop a jersey barrier to get to the sign. THEN we got to speak with a very nice Officer about it. (I think we got him hooked on Geocaching though. All he wrote down was the web address! LOL!) TFTH!
Found this Blue Star Marker just off of US 90 in Morgan City, Louisiana. We were evacuating the oilrig I work on for Hurricane Rita...on the way out of town when I spotted the marker. The marker is on a secondary road...the crossroad 100 yards or so behind me in the pic is US 90.
Walked by the sign on my way to a traditional cache, and finally saw it as I was backing the car out of the lot.
It is in the north bound WV visitor center on I 81.

We were here seeking a cache in the park when we discovered this Blue Star Memorial Highway marker. We didn't find the cache but we're glad to get a chance to claim this virtual. We found this marker at a roadside park along side US Highway 50 between Knob Noster and Sedalia, Missouri.

We tried to find a Blue Star Memorial highway a year ago that no one else had logged and failed here in Michigan and Ohio. Today as we pulled into the Michigan Welcome Center where US27 and US-10 run together, we spoted a new sign placed on the grounds. I went inside to inquire and found they had a dedication for the sign in the early summer this year. Finally!!

Found this one at a beautiful rest area in Nebraska. There were a lot of huge trees and open grassy areas. I wanted to lay down in the middle and take a nap, or play frisbee, or have a picnic. Then I remembered I had 14 more hours of driving. Took some coords and a picture and was then on my way. TFTH.

Along U.S 395 in California between Lone Pine & Independence. Almost couldn't believe this was there. How many more are out there nestled away on the sides of highways through out the country.
Bonus find for us. We found our first in Redondo Beach, Calif. on Pacific Coast Highway by the Redondo Beach Library.

I knew this sign was important. I drive by it twice a day, but it sits in the middle of a cloverleaf. Actually reaching it required parking at a nearby school and crossing 6 lanes of traffic. On top of that the sign has significant signs of wear, making it that much harder to decipher when driving by at 45 mph. But that Blue Star still sticks out.
This road connects Greensboro to Burlington, NC and sees its share of commuters trying to avoid the interstate. Thanks for giving me a reason to brave the urban jungle and read up on this historical landmark.

Scored a micro near here, couldn't resist this monument as well. Found in Colfax, California. Placed by the Colfax Garden Club.
$kimmer and I fell upon this Blue Star as we were scoring another nearby cache. Quaint town, Colfax.
