After a big arvo in Nth Grampians swung by here seeing the low DT.
Arrived at GZ Ok and after a half hr search with a paf concluded its probably amongst that ash I was shifting through.
Not sure why T is so low.... thanks anyways.

Best to check this given a massive fire went through this area and the rock is filled with ash.
Collected all of the info and managed to find a way to GZ, but came up with nothing.
The camp site is currently closed for removal of Asbestos, but there are other areas to camp in nearby.
An interesting place though, and we managed to get up close to a stumpy, echidna, wallaby, and a couple of roo's. Though by this stage our international tourists were over seeing roo's!

We visited the Ngamadjidj Shelter this afternoon to view the Aboriginal art. Discovered there was a multi cache nearby so calculated the co-ords and geohusband drove us to GZ. The geokids enjoyed searching for the cache which was found by geomum after reading some previous logs!

Out for two days in the Grampians with Riddell. We came here to see the Shelter.
On the way I looked at the GPS and yeah, there is a cache as well .
Coming there we did the math puzzle, but the Coordinates seemed a little strange. We double checked everything. Still the same result, so we started to walk in the direction the GPS showed us and we have found ourselves in the middle of bush.
No, must be wrong! We decided to go back to the camping area and to look out to find a better way. Lo and behold, that one looks like the proper way.
Arriving the coordinates, it took us a while, but at the end the cache just popped up in front of me

Taking advantage of the avaliable time, we teamed up with Stray Cougar for two days of caching in the Grampians.
Had a lot of fun and pushed our cache finds over 2500!
This one had us a bit confused.
When we did the calculated the final we thought it was wrong.
We set out in a direct path into the bush! Bzzt! Wrong.
Logic pervailed and we found the proper way.
Then the hunt was on for the cache!
Dang! How did the last guy find it in his wheelchair!
We had enough trouble with our zimmer frames. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walker_(mobility))
Cache was found eventually, but we couldn't say it was easy.

Out and about with Dr Jim 07 and Josiey for the weekend, They were tied up working yesterday, however today was a different story.. Today only took in 3 caches, they were each amazing though in their own ways.. I woke up just in time to make the voyge out to this one.. We walked inot the likely spot, however didn't intially find it.. a quick consult of the logs and a blatant disregard for the DT combo saw us looking in less and less likely places before noticing the logged correction to the location, and I soon spotted the conceled hide.. Thanks Biggles for the hide..
The weekend turned up about 40 caches for me, including the last required DT combo for my Project 81.. Thanks to the various owners along the way, and appologies for the generic copy and paste logging.. We mixed it up with quite a few multis and some really fun bushwalks into the Grampians to take in the stunning views.. Weather for the weekend was awesome. Cheers to the cache owners for the caches.. Find #2968 TFTC. Dipped various TB's and GC's to mark the occasion.

Camped here overnight then made an early assault on this cache this morning. Loved the area but had real trouble getting my wheelchair up the last few metres. Cache was a few metres south of GZ. Such fun.
Great start to the day. It's a but windy so it feels cold. Despite the sunshine I'm still wearing four layers. Good to be back in the Grampians.
Went with a friend found our first cache, YAY.
Had a picnic lunch in the car park, YUM.

We had got to the grumpy stage cause we couldn't find it and then we took note of the last persons log so we started to look a few meters south. We found it and we were happy again! TFTCSL
Tricky little bugger....nnnnnearly gave up, then A HA!
Final GZ is an interesting spot.
Try about 6m south of sugg. co-ords.

Was a great day for a walk and a hunt. Short stroll to the cave. Got the required info and decided to take a leisurely walk around the campsite. Therefore, we did not take a direct route to GZ. A few muggles in the area made the hunt interesting. Great little spot. Unfortunately not here for sunset.

After visiting the ghosts we did our counting and then our sums, the answer didn't seem right so we recounted and repeated our maths several times.
Finally satisfied that we probably had the right coordinates, we then started our walk to GZ. 5yo BucketGirl who had just this morning waked to the top of Hollow Mountain, Summer Daze and Gulgurn Manja shelter complained of sore feet, so we retired to camp for a well earned rest to rest.
We later drove near GZ and found it engulfed with children who quickly vanished on our arrival and the cache was quickly in hand.
Rescued the TB and signed the log.
My thanks to Mr (and Mrs?) Bear

We found this one today after visiting the Mt Zero Olive Plantation.
A nice spot at the art site then we drove the car closer to GZ as we were not sure if there was a path. Took a little while to find because we were thinking it would be smaller.
Left TB Reiseratte.
Thanks Biggles Bear for a great cache.

Thanks Biggles Bear for a great cache.
It is great to have the opportunity to find some of the older Grampians caches on this trip and in my favourite part of the park too.
It has been many years, too many since my bushwalking exploits took me all over these mountains so it was great to return to this area with a new hobby.
Rob and I made our way over to the artwork did the maths and then made the slow trek over to the cache.
The final hide did not go without a fight and it took the two of us quite some time to draw the container from its lair.
This cache took me level with Dak's finds and therefore it holds a lot of significance for me. I thought of him a lot today and it seemed appropriate to find a cache from the past to mark the event, and especially one dealing with 'art'.

Vale Dave and thankyou Biggles Bear.

I first tried this cache quite a few months ago after a climbing trip in the area. I got the numbers sorted and had an excellent fix but the whereabouts of the cache eluded me. I even located a suspicious looking bulge in some leaf litter in a crevice and put my hand in to uncover it, only to withdraw it in a hurry in some pain and with two little puncture marks, bleeding on one of my fingers. Naturally, I had to identify the culprit, in case it was something less than friendly. So I grabbed a stick and commenced excavating. Then the whole bulge moved so I immediately recognised my antagonist, as I had made exactly the same mistake once before whilst caching. I'd actually spiked myself on a sleeping echidna I had rudely disturbed. So I covered it back up and left it to go back to sleep, while I gave up and resolved to come back another day when I had more time to spare. That was today.
Having got such a good fix last time, I hadn't moved far enough from my GPSr. This time, armed with the Dragonfreys suggested correction, and again with a good fix, my search was quickly rewarded. A neat little hide. Many thanks Biggles Bear, for an enjoyable cache.

A very enjoyable cache - getting the history, a bit of a walk, and a nice view that we wouldn't have got otherwise. Took a while to find the right location, and even then, it wasn't until we arrived that we were sure we were in the right spot. Took ages to find. TNLN, Thanks.
Thank you Biggles Bear! We have been camping here for years... must have gone over the cache many a time. Jac and Jack came with us, and what a great way to introduce people to geocaching.
JACCK 66 ( 1st No Find )
Well what can i say Biggles we looked everywhere over and under ledges couldnt find it anywhere maybe next time. Great view well worth the walk anyway.

Enjoyed this multi late this morning with Razz'l'Dazz'n'Co. Fine day for caching. We leisurely gathered the clues at the first stage and then headed out for the final. Found the excellent spot for a cache and hundreds of good hiding spots before tracking down the cache. We had it about 10 m SW of our zero out points. After all that hard work searching we celebrated our victory with a few ANZAC and gingersnap cookies/biscuits. Thanks Biggles Bear for another fine cache.
Found after quite a search in the company of the Dragonfreys, a little way from were our GPS's had us looking. A good challenge. TFTC in this interesting spot.
We spent a couple of nights in the nearby campground.
After working out the puzzle, a nice walk into GZ and a long search, we found the cache about 10 meters from where the GPS pointed us. But it was well worth the time spent

Found the clues ok although gz looked far enough away for me to double check everything. Managed to drive fairly close and then the search began. I checked so many places, even those over the edge despite being pretty sure that Biggles would never put a cache in a dangerous position! In the end I was right as the good hide was found after a lengthy search. Thanks Biggle Bear for the hide in this location.
Had a little trouble with the co-ordinates, & getting a signal in poor weather. After much argument, we went cross country, then saw the obvious path back from GZ. Doh!! Stunning wildflowers & orchids, and amazing view of the rain coming in once again.
Left Bear figurine, took Sheep magnet.
TFTC and for bringing us to a beautiful place.

Found after short search by father & son ,another nice place in the Grampians. TNLN
It was nice to see that Parks has got over the cyclone wire surrounds and installed something that looks a bit better (and lends itself to some questions ). The wattles were blooming giving the place a very colourful aspact.
A short stroll had us near GZ.
Not sure I would call this container a "Micro". We spend a lot of time looking for something a lot smaller. Silly us.
Thanks, Robmc.

Had some trouble finding a track to GZ and in fact ended up going cross country, which then made us wonder if we were in the right place for a bit. Searched for ages here, about six metres from GZ with really good satelites stopping us searching further out. Finally found the not so micro cache. Lots of happy lizards here but not so happy cachers today!!

Thanks.

Our acquaintances that we met earlier in the day were now intrigued with the game and followed us to do this cache. Their son Mitchell was doing hoops of excitement. After getting the intital clues we tried to drive closer to the cache, however our friend's Commodore soon was bogged in the soft sand. A quick snatch and they were moving again. We then all piled into the Patrol and drove right upto GZ. Our GPSr's were pointing to the wrong area at first and then our friends spotted the cache in a spot that we had passed to get to where we were being directed. Took: 50c for Mitchell, Left: Kangaroo key ring. Thanks Biggles Bear
This is a nice spot to camp. We have noted the location down in our camping spots book. After alittle bit of a search, we finally had the cache in our hands. A bit of a challenge for us.

Found with other Wombat Warriors, need to log to make our stats accurate finally.
this was our first multi-cache. great location decided to crash through the bush to locate the second location. should have gone around.
Dropped of TB Flipper. This guy has been with me to so many caches, but they've always been too small, or too wet. He's really too big for this cache, but it'll be a nice surprise for the finder when he pops out. From this cache, Flipper can check out the aboriginal rock paintings.
Found at 10:30 after staying the night at Wartook with Liz and Bruce. Didn't have time for caching as we had to be back in Adelaide before 5pm. Liz and Bruce convinced us this was an easy one, which it was. Had a quick look at the paintings, then grabbed the cache. Thanks Biggles Bear.
Beautiful day to be at this great location. Took sharpener and left lamb magnet. Thanks Biggles Bear

Have you ever been on the knife edge of quitting? Will I did 4 times, but going home in shame is hard to take. Especially when you have your father (71) tagging along. So I plucked up the extra look time (gsak was telling me last log was a no show) and did another lap around GZ and Wacko there it was.
A sweet find if ever there was one.
T: Smiley face. L: Bag of Tiger Iron. Only available in 2 places in the world and good old Aus is one of them (Found near Port Hedland WA)

Camped nearby and went searching for this one. GPS was all over the place here for some reason so called it quits. Will just have to do it next time. Nice spot though.
What's this? A cache in the Grampians with terrain 1! This was to be the last of 10 Grampians caches logged on this holiday. I gathered the required information at the advertised coordinates, did the required substitutions, and headed off. I wandered around looking for a path to the cache, and almost set off overland at one point. However, I thought that was an unlikely scenario, and I eventually found the way. After a pleasant walk to GZ, I had the cache in hand at 0915. Once again, I found myself following in the footsteps of Romax, and their (by now) familiar smiley face was in the cache. Thanks Biggles Bear for taking me to a place that I probably wouldn't have visited otherwise.
As a bonus, I was able to log the "A Picture Says a Thousand Words" locationless cache.
IN: Singaporean 10c coin
OUT: Chinese coin

Found at 1730 with fellow bushwalkers Steph and Wayne, after doing the maths at the ancient art site. Lucky we had 2 GPSr's as we were quite a few metres apart, and of course the final location was somewhere in between. Steph managed to beat both GPSr's to the find.

We were camped here while climbing around the Grampians for a couple of days over Easter, and headed out to hunt for the cache on Monday evening (along with a friend Rich, who's actually had a GPS longer than we have, but hasn't learnt to put it to its proper use yet). This cache had us cursing night-caching once again, but finally the beastie was found, and some LUMC stickers were left, and a 5 Kropek coin taken. Alas, didn't get to appreciate the views in the dark, but have spent many other mornings and evenings wandering around the area during other climbing/hiking trips.
Second find of the day. Warm conditions so thought a terrain of 1 would be very easy. But you had us confused for a while. No 2 went further afield and the cache was found fairly easily. Left pulling strings. Took finger puppet. Thanks for a great cache Biggles Bear.
Tried this one yesterday at the end of the day, but circumstances conspired against me. My GPS had me a distance off from where it was, and the terrain rating of one confused me also. I eventually gave up so that I could find somewhere to stay the night.
After some help from Biggles Bear #1, I returned this morning and found it instantly. I had looked close by, but not actually where it was. I took a Plastic Whistle and left a Ladybird pencil sharpener.
Thanks for taking me there, Biggles Bear. The first location was interesting, and the views at the final location were splendid.

Beautiful area of the country, shame we didn't do more of the caches out here. Figured out the coords- getting to the final resting place was the problem. Drove around looking for an access until we found one, just escaping a bogging. Once we found the cache, saw the path that stretched up from the campgrounds...d'oh!
Found at 10.00, we actually camped within 200m of this cache.
A great area and fun cache to do.
GZ had us looking for 20mins 10 m away near the edge. Checking the ratings we widened our search and the cache was soon found
Took a ball and left a whistle from The Whistle cache.
Thanks BB

+2 did all the work for this one, the final co-ordinates seemed a little out but with a little help from Jomac we found it. Took nothing left nothing
Another group cache assault! Biggles Bear and maccamob watched with amusement as we counted and recounted the different objects. Unfortunately the cache page I'd downloaded messed up the formatting, so some translation from maccamob was required before we figured out where we were going.
Headed up to GZ and the race was on to see who'd be first to locate the cache. GZ seemed to be at the very edge, and James was more than happy to crawl around likely hiding places for a micro cache. After about 15 minutes of GZ searching, I wandered out a bit further and spotted the container.
Took a tiny beaded butterfly and left a candle.
Thanks Biggles Bear!

Found at 12:57PM on the 6th of March by Renee and Christopher with Maya and Ray, The Nomads.
Christopher and Renee enjoyed the visit to the historical site, it was the first of its type they have seen. Renee took the heart shaped pill box and left a bead bug she made, and a Canadian tattoo. Maya left a rubber ball we got from New Car cache. Our collective thanks for placing the cache. The Nomads.

Found by Mary & David at 1300. A romantic interlude heading to Adelaide, so we decided to look for the cache now rather than wait until the BBBB event. Almost beats chocolates and roses!! Our favourite part of Victoria, but thanks for bringing us to a new location. When we first parked, Mary said ''I bet its way up there'', but we were pleasantly surprised to find GZ. Found the cache after about 15 min. Took trout fly, left push pins from Never Ben There. Thanks to Biggles Bear.
