This area is too overgrown. The cuttey grass has become a problem, impeding access. New cache is now Tutukaka Reserve.
Major reconstruction of this site was necessary as the assess path is no longer maintained. Note the new co-ordinates above.
Checked cache and found it quite damp. Have taken log book to dry out. Also took TB $crooge. The track to the seat it quite over grown.
Beautiful view! Was well worth the itchy legs and hay fever which started almost instantly on the path down. Sorry to say I could not find the cache, but enjoyed the view on such a beautiful day.
Checked on this cache today all in good order. Left $croode McDuck TB.

Took Racoon TB up here. There are no Kiwi's for him to pester but lovely views to look at while he waits to be moved on.
Got all cut up by cutty-grass.
GPS said we were 2 m. away with EPS of 8 m.
Gave up anyways to have a go at "To the Lighthouse"
Cheers

Moose TB is apparently now in Europe, It's just that he forgot to check out.
We were in Ngunguru for the weekend with a major storm predicted. We rushed out this morning to beat the rain and notch up a cache or two before the conditions became impossible.
First find by our friend Carole.
The northerly gale made opening the cache an adventure in itself. We had to clutch the plastic bags an cache container tightly to stop them all heading for the south pole!
TNLNSL
Luckily we had walked to the lighthouse previously so I can vouch for the view.
Thanks smoking gun.

evilC found it, with #1 son tagging along. The tide stopped us from doing the full walk to the lighthouse but we did that a few days later anyway witht he rest of the family. Highly recommended.
+ packet of spinach seed
+ Hewy, Dewy and Lewy on a jetski
- Hairy Little Dwarf token (dropped into Tomb with a View on 17 Jan)
- Tutukaka Dive Pen.
Nice spot. Thanks!
NB: Reference in written log entry to Hugh Crawford cache should have been to William Wellington Memorial Reserve instead...

Found the cache my second visit. First time I mist the christmastree hint and missed the cahce. Found it now! Good spot!
Visited it just hours after the people before me. They left a moose with a travelbug. Took that for a spin.
Left a pen of the local diving operator where I stayed for quite some time.

Hi Kevin
Well, you were so right. I'm hooked already.
It was pissing down with rain at the time so I didn't open the packet.
Rikki and I are waiting for the rain to stop so we can go look for the next one.

This our first cache. Crayfish supported by my twins found the Christmas tree and then cache. The kids were rapped. Took out the pencils and left a nice pen. Thank you Smoking Gun.
This is my first find so it will have a special place in The Geocache Hall of Fame. Great site with a great view. I visited it twice but only recorded once. Second visit was to prove the GPS was OK. It was..................Freefall
With cutty grass wounds still raw from Hugh Crawford earlier in the afternoon, This was a nice relaxing cache to finish the day.
Great coastline here, have to get out here with the inflatable one day for a bit of fun.
Walked up from the marina to collect Zeebloo, left Hairy little Dwarf Geocaching token and combination screwdriver kit.
With the exception of 5 caches in Auckland, The Hairy Little Dwarf has now conquered Northland
- Have to relocate South now!
Thanks for the cache.

I would like to know where the road comes out - walked up from the marina. A pleasant stroll to unkink the knotted muscles gained at Hugh Crawford. A lovely spot - appreciated the seat in the rest area.
A bit delayed! Found whilst acompanying HLD and GoGranny, but can't remember what went in or went out. Will try to be a little more timely next time
Dropped off Zeebloo. She's all cozy ready for her next pickup. Has some great views to look at in the meantime.
This area is primo for sea kayaking. No swap. Another 'clue' that shouldn't be encrypted - IMHO.

Our first ever attempt, and we found it!!! The kids (aged 2, 4 and 6) were wrapped. Cache is in pretty good order, outer bag could do with replacing, but alas, hadn't thought far enough ahead to take one with us, pen wasn't working so we put in a new one...
We found Treasure!!! The kids liked the wooden rooster, so we took him out. We put in a set of knuckle bones. Kid friendly Cache.

A nice easy site to find in a beautiful area on the Tutukaka coast. Lovely walks with great views over the Pacific with the famous Poor Knights Islands in the background. After our search we explored the rest of the area.
Took the sunscreen out left carved wooden rooster.
