Looks like this one is also gone, Owner hasn't logged into site for a couple of years either.
Don't know what you're playing at, hiding it in such a place. There are many wonderful places in the Mangotuk's which would be ideal for a place top hide a cache, but in prickly, nasty bush is not one of them.
Spent ages looking to no avail. Ended up running out of time and was not able to find the other caches i wanted to find today.
Blarghster.
Update: Sorry about the nasty comment. I was a bit ticked off.

Thrashed about in the scrub and holly (ouch), but this one proved elusive. Wonder if it is still there???? Long drive, interesting valley, too bad nothing found.
Cache in good condition, but had a lot of trouble finding it. Area very overgrown with scrub and the overnight drizzle didn't help. One of us found the cache while the two travelling companions stayed on the flat.

Quite a clamber over through 3 fords and long grass into broken bush. Found afer 5 mins looking.
Drove my little Ford Laser hatchback to within 800 metres or so as the crow flys. Obviously some brave souls with 4 wheel drives get a wee bit further along.
Then out for a walk. Had to ford the creek (ankle deep) about 3 or 4 times each way.
Followed the GPS to the correct area. Michael and I spotted the cache within a few seconds of each other from different angles. Cache is in good condition.
Took Dolphin thingy. Michael left a Travel Bug - "mug bug".
Good walk in and back - got a sweat up and it's great GPS practice.

At the last the rain has stoppped so it's time to stretch the legs.
Was up in the hills close to this on Saturday, not realising I was probably on top of it.
Cool place for a cache. The hawks are awesome and plenty of other natives out and about today also.
- nothing
+ money dolphin

Either I did it wrong, or there are some things the other logs forgot to mention. Be prepared to get your feet and/or your 4WD wet! Not a good cache for four year old sones, or wives not sure of this caching lark.
Found easily enough, cache still in good condition. Now drying shoes out.
+/- Nothing
Thanks, Rolly.

Went up hill - thought we were in the wrong valley, drove down and checked road on GPS, found it was the right one so back up and carried on to the end of the road. You certainly need to trust your GPS and instinct for this one! Found cache quickly once in the right area. + turtle - pocket knife.
Thanks

Great cache! You 'have' to use your GPS, and work out how to get there. The cache isn't hard to find if you're in the right place. Wonderfull scenery too.

Found the area realitivly easily, but did feel like I was going in the wrong direction. Really nice site, one of the best places I have found Geocaching.

Couldn't even seem to get near this one. We tried Waterfall Rd and Valley Rd but couldn't quite get in the right direction. We did find an interesting new subdivision at Nikau Lakes though. Will definately try again later.
I innocently set off up Waterfall Road heading for this one and nearly gave up.
However, I persevered and was surprised to find tarseal at the top and even on the steeper sections further on. It did not last for long though.
I set off from the car but got a little confused, (maybe the shock of the cold wet feet),
And then wasted energy by heading to high and so resorted to a minor bit of bush bashing to get back on track.
Once in the area I searched for some time and was getting dispirited with the multiplicity of “treesâ€? but when I retraced my steps, there it was. The revised co-ords look pretty good.

This one was a real dog!!!
It was raining and the stream was high so off came the shoes. I trusted the gps and headed off through a scrubby creek and across an overgrown paddock. I searched the given area and couldnt find it, I caught a lucky glimpse of the cache about 20-30m away- lucky it is flourescent green!!!
nil trade as I left the stuff in the car. The long grass was wet so my shoes got wet anyway.
Thanks

Not sure of the date as I forgot to log it at the time. Tony and I headed off down the wrong side of the stream and then tried to keep our feet dry but missed the bridge by 100 metres. Once in the right area we quickly found the cache.
We took some friends (John and Lindsay) for there first geocache. Arrived and after a team discussion decided to take the low road instead of bush bashing.
Arrived on the location and spent a while looking for the cache. Found it and took another possible reading S 40º 56.552 E 175º 02.152
John took the funny key ring and we left a magnetic key holder
Great day for it and enjoyed the hunt.
Thanks again Ross

Set off at noon for the trip to the hills.
Took 3 attempts to find correct path to access cache area. Nice walk up a (steep) hill, and along a forest path. Once there had to battle to gain access to clearing where cache was located.
Spent an hour scouring the area within 10m or more radius of location. Had good sat position, but searched all around scrub and bush without success. All told we were out for 3 hours.
Our first failure - but we'll be back !!
