I hate it when we can't find a 1/1. After a lot of searching, we gave up. Bummer. Nice spot, though.

And i so love Peter Pan and Wendy and more petrified forrest to see than at Curio Bay [What a wonderful relaxing spot!]
#1227 Great gardens and interesting to see petrified wood. Cache was right where it should be and in an unusual hiding place. TNLN DS8300
DNF lst night. Found within a minute today in the bright sunlight. Was attracted by a winking cache. TFTC TNLN but a smile
Troodles found the cache after a bit of searching. GPS reception a bit dicey in this area.
This is well visible from 0 metres at the moment so may need checking that it is in the right spot? Will remind the ToyotaVX's to check with BitSprayer.
Beautiful part of the Gardens - one of my favorite spots and a very good area for nice photos.

Had help from a cat finding this one, it then tried to follow us out of the gardens.

Another clever hide, that we didn't find straightaway. So many people must pass this every day and not see it. A beautiful area of the gardens to sit and enjoy. SL. TFTC.
Also logging in and out our England Geocoin.

Very clever hiding place. muggles almost preventd me from retrieving the cache but they left in the end
A few period-dressed muggles around but even in the lulls in the traffic we had no joy. Even with two of us hunting (and becoming less and less discrete) we just couldn't find it!
Great quiet spot - not too many muggles, but stealh was still required. TFTC TNLN SL
Hmmm. Not only never never land but for a while there we thought we would never never find it, but then lyn, as usual, got it. A very nice spot - never never sat in a seat made with petrified wood before either. Tranquil. Thanks for the cache. Took geocoin, left nothing.
Found this one with Comradehunt on the "get to 100 and 250th mission" journey. Nice little stroll, but looked too hard for the cache!
Found this one with The-Organist on our Oamaru/Duntroon round trip. Left Indian painting geocoin.
Got there once I sat down and thought about it, sure would have helped to have long sleves
My first find. Not sure what I was looking for but found it with a bit of searching and help from the clues. Thanks.
4.15pm. The first find for Judith our friend who we are taking around the south island. Thank you David & Noeline
I was taking a while on this one when a lady walked on by. She stopped and asked if I was geocaching - yup - and it turned out to by "Mrs" BitSprayer. A bit of a coincidence and rather fortunate as she gave me a wee hint for -5 which I had failed to find earlier which was appreciated. TNLN Thanks.
Took a lot of finding but a buzz when we did. River had flooded and we thought it had gone.
Was starting to think this one had gone but managed to find it at the last minute. I would of hated myself to miss this one!
Thanks for rhe cache.

What a clever hide! We are geo-visitors from Dartmouth,Nova Scotia (Canada) that brought along a few bugs on our vacation to New Zealand. We took some photos with a film-cam, unfortunately our digiCam broke on us. Will Upload a shot of our White Jeep Rubicon TB by his new temporary resting spot once the film is developed. Thanks for the (interestingly hidden) cache! Took nothing, Left the Jeep TB. His accomodation is quite cramped, hopefully someone will move him along quickly. Final stop, ChCh tomorrow, then back to Canada. Thanks to all the friendly Kiwis we've met along the way, you have a beautiful country!
What a little sadist! Still, made my sacrifice to the caching gods in blood to ensure another successful day Cheers Gav [1173]
Found on second round. First time had pretty much given up when some muggles came through, and on my way back from Koas and ground to a halt tried again in all the obvious spots and then I tried in a non obvious spot...

These public gardens are very nicely presented [^] Was curious about the name of the cache but found the reason nearby, good one! Seems we are following close behind Kiwi Extreme on a few of these caches today. The cache was quite obvious when we found it so added a bit of natural camouflage to disguise the cache. Replaced damp silica. TFTC

215. What a lovely Garden, I don't mainly like gardens as a rule but this is a very relaxing place. Thanks
Another visit to our Anna in Oamaru. Spent a pleasant hour in the gardens before the evening's activity at The Penguin Club. Nice easy find.

Great hide. Searched in the wrong place for ages! Must remember to lift eye level above the ground TNLNSL thanks
Got it this time as we didnt find it a couple of months ago when we stayed for a weekend. Fantastic piece of garden, very beautiful. Got the photo of the girls with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. Spring is here!!!

Rain threatening, but managed to locate it. Cleverly hidden! Beautiful gardens too. We are holidaying from Queensland and enjoying the drive. TNLN Thanks.
7:25am. The first find of our trip from Dunedin to Christchurch. Not too hard, even in the dark!
Our first ever geocache...Thanks! We had a borrowed GPS and no manual so found it more with the clues than anything else!
What a very hard frost Oamaru had this morning, still did not deter dog walkers or geocachers. What an excellant bronze staute nearby. TNLN.
Looked right past it on first pass and searched where it looks like everyone else has. While scratching the head and trying to figure where else it could be spotted the obvious.

Pretty straight forward find on the way down to Dunedin for a couple of days. Hopefully the cache will winter over without too many troubles. I see the neighbour had been given a severe haircut!
16:09 Had to think like a cacher for this one - even after reading the clue. Great spot and a great excuse to stop on way to ChCh. Kids stayed in van. TNLNSL. TFTC.
gen custer found this one quickly, was right under my nose the whole time!

Went back today on my day off, found it quite easily, was exactly where it was supose to be. Nice and dry inside despite all the rain. TFTC
Had a goodlook around the area, but was unable to find the cache, maybe the flood water washed it away? Nice walk through the park anyways
I am sure I had the right spot but couldn't find it.The area looked like it had been recently maintained. They are great gardens but today looked a bit bedraggled after all that rain. Some parts of my journey home were scary because of the flooding and I had bickering (adult)passengers.
Once again, without paperwork, we found it but the cache was very wet. we dried it as best we could but it could do with another 1/2 hour or so in the sun.
The fountain is as old as we are and we had a good look around the whole area.
Mrs S.T. was facinated by the detail on the statue.
Thanks,
S.T.

This is a fantastic park and real asset to Oamaru. Many thanks for bringing us here. TNLN.
Third find of five, on our "Oamaru Day Trip".
along with Cameron, Tyleigh and our ever-present Pippi.
An easy find, once we found the correct bunch of petrified logs. The first lot we found, had a table with 4 stone seats nearby, but just as we went to explore, a family got there fist and settled down to a lengthy lunch.
We soon found the correct spot, and simply reached around for the cache.
The Lady found this one.
We took nothing
We left nothing
Cheers.

AHA! Got it this time - a bit more growth around where I thought it'd be, and sure enough, there it is. Nice to visit the gardens again anyway.

Was able to escape for a quick stroll through the gardens on a day trip to Oamaru with family - I was drooling while looking at the 20km scale level map on the GPSr, so many caches, so little time
Anyway, I wandered into Wonderland Garden, and found the spot mentioned in the hint, but sadly it looks like there's been a bit of tidyup maintenance, and there were no obvious spots for a hiding place, so I gave up... I was short on time!
Mike.

This cache does not really ring a bell either. I know I was fighting of a sunburn from the day before, so I was wearing long sleaves and long trowsers, but the cache? The sun really got me I guess.
Love this hidden garden - I'd forgotten that there were so many of these hidden spots within the Gardens here. The visits over that decade or so had been just to the kids area on travel breaks. Thanks Bitsprayer!

The Oamaru Gardens are as good as any gardens anywhere. The area in the region of the cache was great. I think some of the gardeners feared that we had escaped from an institution! No swap. Thanks.
Really enjoyed finding this one and the beautiful location.
Found at 6:50am during a cahing binge which has lasted several days.
Took Picachu, left tape.

Loved the hiding spot especially the [Fortified Tree Trunks].
We laughed about the person who wrote in the log book that they sat down on the [stone seat ] to decrypt the clue.
Geocaching is cool, I love it that hardly anyone knows about it.
Thanks BitSprayer
Thanks Evanda too!
Went to the gardens after filling in the log at the harbour. Saturday morning, kids are keen to get started
and of course got into the gardens, looking around, and the
rain came down. Nathan found without the clue, but the kids worked out the clue to find the cache, great game.
Thanks BS for putting us on to this.

Mama Bear was looking for a loo while Papa Bear was in a business meeting in Oamaru, and the lure of such a nice cache so nearby was too strong!
No swaps handy, so just a logbook sign.
Thanks, BS!

Last cache of the day. Had to be off a bumble bee attack - he/she/it was determined that nothing was going to stop he/she/it from the flower plant that was sheilding the cache. Lovely quiet spot (or was until a train rattled very noisily past) on a nice sunny day. No exchange. Thanks Bitsprayer.
