Tried but unable to find this cache. The views made trying to find it worthwhile.
Had a good look for this one with no luck at all, nevermind the view was fantastic and well worth a new cache some day.
This one looks like its gone and the owner is too far away to maintain it, can it be archived so the area can be opened up for a new cache?
Had some time before going to see client so decided to come up here and see if I can find it...
Noting previous logs before hand I wasn't confident... Parked the rental in carpark... Nice little walk to the top... Beautiful views however after considerable thrashing around and prodding in all the likely places I couldn't even find the overgrown item mentioned in hint let alone the cache.. I think it may be overgrown so much it is not possible to uncover... or it has been muggled...
Shame really as there needs to be an active cache up here..
If you want I can replace a container next trip down this way.. Owner can email me if they want...
Thanks for bringing me up here..

Hey! So...fyi... I'm the cache owner.. I haven't even been living in NZ for near on 2 years and havent seen this cache for at least 4 years..So I'm amazed it still exists..and really amazed too..thanks for taking good care of it anyone!
And if the next visitor could take a new logbook...that would be great..if they have a scanner and care to scan the pages of te old one..that would be great too!
Steve
Was there at 15.15 hrs. Lots of mugglers around-no change to look and log. Thanks anyway. Meryl(from Holland)
Got to the top where there were 2 muggles having lunch on the bench. We enjoyed the view and read the boards until they left, and managed to search for about 10 seconds before the first pair of another 12 muggles arrived. The muggles just kept comming and going, but there was never less than 4 muggles for the rest of the time we stayed, so we eventually decided that the view had been reward enough and headed back down.
3.16pm. COOL view, very pleasent on a sunny afternoon.
Had to wait for a few muggles to leave, and just as i was about to grab the cache another turned up.
+ Daffodil.
+ Mini CDR.

I was on a trip from Arizona to watch the WRC Car Rally. Decided to get a couple of caches.
I have seen this place from the highway, several times before - but thought it was on ther other side of the harbor.
Great views - thanks for the cache.
I dropped off a couple of TB's I bought from home - travelling 6755 miles.

Very nice view on a picture perfect blue sky day.
Took party popper, left a big Barney super ball and took Fiona TB. Thanks for making us stop there.

A short search revealed the goodies, almost got muggled as I was trying to get the container sealed proporly again, seal is slightly damaged and difficult to get closed properly. Managed to get it hidden again while the muggle peered out to sea just out of sight.

Beautiful 360 degree views. Had to wait for a bus load of German tourists to depart before searching for the cache but didn't mind a bit in such a pleasant spot. Thanks. TNLN
Wandered back down the beach after finding Tairua Cracker, and after saying hello to the rest of the family who were swimming I continued up Paku. Definitely getting hotter now..
Ended up searching the track just short of the summit as the etrex was saying just 3 metres to go at that point, but then continued up and found it without much difficulty after spotting some trampled grass. This is now "ruffled up" again to try to hide the hide.
Took the US 1 cent coin, and left a party popper.
Great views. Thanks for the extra incentive to climb this on a hot day!

Turned out to be a pre-cursor climb for King of the Castle. Last of the day for St. Ouens out on a late pass with RotLA, but finally called back to base for home duties. Time tho' for an ice cream before saying cherrio.
Left either a US or UK coin. Thanks for the cache and thanks to RotLA for the company

Now that's a VIEW! Excellent place for a cache. Could have stayed up there for ages. Was an amazing sunny, hot day and we could see for miles.
Found easily by St. Ouens while I was mucking around looking at the view.
TNLNSL Thanks for the cache.

Found it after a very very very damp search. Took a 10 min or so as the gps was doing some weird voodoo thing with reception... after a few minutes it pointed to the right spot. The cache was in tip top condition, all dry and lots of goodies. Took the dice and left a glow in the dark bouncy ball. Did I mention that it was raining and very wet and there was no view to be had?
Thanks for the cache. This one is worth doing for the cool spot.
Cheers Michael

Great views from up there on a lovely warm day.
Took a little bit of searching before we found it. Dried out the cache becuase it was damp and removed some batteries that had gone bad because of the water. Added something to replace the batteries but I can't remember what it was

Hehehehe - didnt find and probably never will!! Got the "hight" wobbles when I ran our of hand rail to hold onto..so went back down to the nearest seat and waited for the "crazy trio" to make their way back down... (Frost, JDHnz and 1st220) Not for us chickens I feel [8)]
cache was a bit damp, so we dried it out and put the contents into a couple of zip lock bags. introduced a couple of tramping type to the concepts of caching as they were quite intrigued. +boxed dice set -tx geocoin thanks
Parked below and walked up with mum. She found it after not much trouble, first for the day. I have been there before but never dreamed...

Couldn't find it as there was no overgrown stump but alot of overgrown rock. Only stump was next to a wasp nest just on the northern side of the trig. Please help with further details.
Great view and some folk from South Africa help look but no joy. Will try again next week

What great views, had to wait for a family to move off. When we finally approached hidey hole the red bucket stuck out like dog’s balls, so pushed well into the undergrowth.
Removed chewing gum as it was leaking and gave cache a wipe out. Cheese rat in and fish hooks out. Many thanks for bringing us here, good view of yacht going up and down the coast.

One of the easiest finds we've had as the co-ords were so accurate! Were feeling a bit low on energy after all the caches over the last few days, but the view from the top on a fantastic day made it all worthwhile! Took headphones left star bottle stop.
Nice climb, lovely day, excellent cache with great views from the top. We came up with friends.
+ headphone set - sunglasses
Thanks for the cache

It's been 12 years since I climbed up here (I remember by how old my daughters were at the time). Stumbled around a bit in the dark, but my GPS kept wanting me to fall off the cliff by about half a metre. Eventually found it (after talking to a previous finder) in a spot I'd allready looked (I hate that). Took nothing, left only a log entry. Thanks, Neill .
I just altered the waypoint slightly;
From: S 36° 00.031 E 175° 51.952
To: S 36° 00.030 E 175° 51.954
This was with a Garmin GPS12, Averaged waypoint, 3.7m EPE. Just in case another cacher attempts it at night like a couple of us have.

Took the kids (boy 5yrs, girl 3yrs) on a Treasure Hunt. We've been up here so many times, and yet never known this cache was here (only a newbie at geocaching). Searched for about 5 mins before uncovering it. Kids loved finding the treasure! Was quite a challenge to keep the kids from disappearing over the edges!!
Took 2 shells (1 each)
Left a golf ball.
And got the kids down in 1 piece (each!).

Beautiful clear day. Lots of very tame fantails flitting around me looking for the insects that I've stirred up. Lovely spot for a cache.

You say you can park 120 metres from this cache, but you don't say that it is 120 metres vertical!
Well, every metre of the way up was repayed by the fantastic views from the top.
Took out 20 cents and left a Swedish coin and candle.
Thanks for a truly great cache [^]

#13 for today
Well what a awesum view, all the lights of Tairua etc, hit this one at 1900 hrs, it was well and truely dark.....which I don't really recomend for anyone as its hair raising searching....but cache is located in a safe area so no need to venture to close to the cliff.....
swapped nil
thanks

Night climb to watch the sunrise - It had stopped raining! I very nearly bugged out the previous night due to the extreme rain/flooding/swollen rivers and landslides, but glad I stayed (albeit on high ground Added a geocaching cover note as requested and nothing out. Big waves rolling in at Pauanui - the surfers would have been happy.
Thanks for one of the better sunrises I've seen.

It's rare that the Coromandel East coast is this calm - so why aren't I paddling! Slipper Is looks beconing from here.
