7.15. Archive or unarchive a geocache
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. Only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ can unarchive caches. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if the cache meets the current geocaching guidelines.

If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

16-Oct-21
Despite the reviewer's BS log in Sept, this cache WAS found in April by a previous finder!
It is a hard one to find...
There is a cache in Mawson Lakes that has had many more DNFs logged before the reviewer bothered doing anything about it.
I believe my cache hides are being targeted, as there is NO 'Needs Maintenance' on this cache, so why is being targeted when many others out there are left to rot away?

Another old cache notes the dust thereby making it just that little harder for future cachers to fill their Jasmer!
Sorry Barry R.I.P.

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention.

I am temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 28 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.

If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require.

For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the listing and post a new note every 28 days to keep everyone up to date or the cache will be treated as an abandoned cache and archived without further notice.

Pretty sure one no longer exists, we spent 40 minutes trying to find it.

I didn't find this one today. When I was close to it I attracted the attention of some big ants whose shrub was their domain, so I backed off! I'll try to find it another day. Smile

Finally found this one after a DNF on a previous attempt after which the cache owner (adopter) kindly replaced. I found this one after a short search by the family which were quickly thinking that this might be our nemesis cache! Thanks for the cache and maintenance Hurtle.

What an eventful day for me [:o]

I wanted to do this Old Gentleman Cache last week after grabbing a Multi ending nearby, but ran outta time.
Today the 4th of July 2020, i drove to the parking bay up top and wandered to the stunning views at GZ and of all those wonderful earthly colours. Having rained for the last day or two in an already wet Winter, i was super-cautious and aware of the clays around this area. One could end up on their butt in a jiffy Big Grin

Where the cache was hidden wasn't an issue for slipping but being intrigued and fascinated by such an awesome geological area and all those colours below i just had to venture down [sticking to the tracks of course] to take pics of such a pretty area [^]

In hindsight..... you guessed it... i slipped and mildly hurt myself. Dang! that clay was soap!. I laughed at my own misfortune coz it reminded me of my childhood where playing in mud was common place Big GrinWink

I am ok , just got taught a lesson ha ha [8)]. The pics grabbed were unreal but the one which made me say 'wow' about 5 times was the one included [Purple Clay?, yep, that's new... for me anyway ha ha]

I am offering a Favourite Point for this unreal location and all those Ochre colours [s l i p p e r y when wet] clays included lol Big Grin

So this was a fairly full-on solo geocaching day for me today, and I wanted to make the most of the terrific weather that had the right temperature, sun out and blue sky. The plan was to head south to tackle some of the power trails / series, and for the most part, that was achieved. My day started at Seaford, and then it was a run along the creek finding the *Real Aliens* series. I then diverted towards the ocean, to find a nemesis oldie and enjoy a run along Moana's cliffs. A selection of the *Cats and Dogs* series were detoured past, before a break at Aldinga's bakery. Next was the *Forty Winks* series, and then back towards the ocean to enjoy a few caches at Sellicks Beach. It was getting to late afternoon by the time I drove through Myponga, and targeted a few hiking geocaches around there, and back towards Sellicks Hill. By this time, it was dark, and so made my way home, having utilised this great weather as best as I could.

So, I'm finally glad to have this one off my list. The first time I came here, the cache was missing, and the second time I called by once the CO had replaced the cache, I still couldn't find! I can't believe there were quick subsequent finds after me! However today, exactly in the area that I had searched immensely, I made the quick cache find!

We call these geocaches "voodoo caches"... when they disappear, and make a more experienced Geocacher look like a wally, only to be placed back for quick finds to be made. Is it black magic, some Geocachers thinking it would be amusing, or animals hiding or placing the container? Or a more simple explanation could be that this Finder had an off day. Hmm, I guess we will never know.

Anyway, I was delighted to make the quick find here today, as it was an oldie 01/2003 hidden cache that I had on my target list for some time. I even brought a spare container with me, that I was going to place nearby if I hadn't found yet again, forcing the CO to make another return trip out here to visit this one haha. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Barry and Beryl for the cache placement, and to Hurtle for its ongoing maintenance (appreciated the extra help that the CO tried to provide to me too). These cliffs were a picturesque sight once again!

Today was forecast as a brilliant day, so jesswrigley and I headed to Seacliff for its weekly Saturday parkrun event. Following that, an EarthCache was visited, and we parted ways as I continued to geocache for the rest of the day. I continued to head south targeting higher D/T caches, special cache types, and oldies, and I did see some great locations. Geocaching was done around Kingston Park and Marino, Lonsdale, O'Sullivan Beach, Moana, Maslin Beach, Port Willunga, and finally ending the day at Aldinga. Despite being solo, I actually quite enjoyed keeping myself busy with the combination of driving and jogging caches.

Another nope! With the CO visiting GZ a few months ago, and confirming that the cache was missing, it had been on my target list to revisit knowing it had been replaced. I seriously thought this would be a quick jog, find within a few minutes, and then on my way once again. However, a total of 30 min here still failed to have this cache turn up, which was such a shame as i really wanted to find this oldie. I even reached out to the CO, with some hints and guidance provided, but still no luck. I'm really hoping that this cache hasn't been muggled again, however unlikely that theory may be given its remote location. Sigh, will watch and see, thanks anyway.

Looked for about 20 mins seaside of shrub. No luck.

03-Jul-19
Hurtle, I think this one needs to be looked at... Thanks

03-Jul-19
Had a major look but either the bush has badly overgrown or someone’s taken it

11-May-19
Today took me geocaching along the beaches all the way down to Moana/Aldinga in targeting various geocaches. The rain decided to show itself in short bursts, but was largely ok in being outside.

I had a really really really detailed look here, but unfortunately after 30 min of looking, the cache was not found. I tried lifting up the bush's skirt all around the seaside side, and diligently checked the two shrubs either side of the main bush, but nothing seemed to be hidden in those. I kept returning to the main bush, and continued to do loops around. I ended up crawling all the way in from the non-sea side, and was able to have a very good look around the base, but still nothing! The cache could still be here, as searching the bushy bushes can always miss something, but surprised that it could be so hard then. Will watch and see. Some nice views from this esplanade coast.

11-Mar-19
Very difficult location. Be careful with kids. Sure it is in there somewhere but too much foliage to get through. Fun anyway and beautiful spot.

13-May-18
Looked and looked but no luck...

21-Mar-18
Not sure if I left my geo glasses at home but couldn't even find a stone under the shrub let alone the cache. Looked for about 10 mins widening the search but no luck. I could see where cachers had been looking but after over 2 months without a find I'm wondering if it's gone AWOL. At least I saw the ochre cliffs.

Found on a hot windy morning.

26-Mar-17
Managed to get here today after adopting this very old cache after Barry's passing. A great spot still, sunsets would be awesome from here.
No sign of the cache at GZ, probably had cache creep or not hidden at proper location. No sign of glass at GZ either.
New cache placed, with a new logbook.
At base of the bush under a rock.
Let's hope this goes for another 14 years. Smile
