Yes the work is still going, they are building a large new sub division here. More home right on the river, just what we need.
I'll head out on the weekend and see if it is possible to replace it, or place it nearby.
Cheers

I stopped by with Rhiannon this afternoon to pick up the container. Expecting the fence to go all around the park I was happy to see it did not.
We parked at the sea scouts and walked up to get the container. We found it easy enough and brought it back home. I put this updated ammo box here back in 2007 and now it looks like greed has taken over and the whole place will become expensive housing.
Years ago when I checked this area was mark as an area where they were going to build shelters and bbqs and so on.
Thanks everyone who came out and looked at this nice stretch of river.

Went past today to collect any TBs in there but could not get in. It is now part of the fenced off building site and they were working with trucks going in and out. Not looking good! Pitty, it was such a lovely place. The greed of developers prevailed yet again.
Drove past this yesterday, and there is fencing around it. Maybe need to get in there and pick it up before it disappears...
Very nice cache container. I tried finding it when I was a n00b at caching at night and I couldn't find it. TFTC SL
Good find we went there with a large group 2 times before at night to find it but it took me an my mate only one try at day to find it. We didnt have anything to trade so we just filled out the logbook.
Nice hunt took awhile but and now have the task of picking all the grass seeds out of my shoes
Find 7 - Took the bike path along Waterford so had to go off-road and walk the last bit due to the new subdivision - Recommend you use the way points given and come from the other direction if you dont have hiking boots. Great spot looking back across the water at the black swans. TFTC - cant have to many bottle openers I say. OJ, Tae, Banksy.
Very easy find. Kids swapped a few things then had fun climbing back up the slope.
Nice easy find when you slip down the hill and run into the cache isn't it?

Found today with wot, and this just happened to be my 200th find
Nice easy find, and drove up to about 20m from the cache.
Send wot down the steep hill to retrieve the cache ;P

Nice to find a well stocked cache.Very steep grassy slope to negotiate but managed without mishap. Drive past this area nearly every day. Just loving this caching! TN Left solar powered calculator.
Found by Sunshine Toledo at 11:20am. The cache was easily found in the light drizzle. The grass was very slippery going to the cache. TFTC
Good find with bru Moose pictured below.

Nice big cache here! Good to see. Dropped off horse toy, took battery fan, and also left the Woof Dog TB. Thanks.
Great to see this one is still here after 7 years. Hope it keeps going ...nice area.

Found it! What a nice day to find this cache. Its in a secluded spot which is good because we had the privacy to find it in peace. There were muggles driving remote control planes/helicopters/boats today and this was very interesting to watch. Its great to see another ammo box. TNLN TFTC Team Gunn Parker!
I really enjoyed this area and the walk to gz. There were so many interesting plants to see along the way and I also liked the walk right beside the river. We have come here in the past with school excursions. The cache is in a great spot! TFTH!!
We've been meaning to come here for a while now ...... but we seem to have skirted around this one and done a few of the others that are close by in the area, instead. I don't know why this got left out. Parking was easy and it was a lovely walk to find the cache. I've never ever stood at this end of the river to look at the other side and the view was great. We had blue sky and sunshine today. There seems to be a housing estate coming up ..... which is a shame. I was curious about the tall structure near the naval cadet hall so we stopped to read all about it ..... (and Geo-Hero said that he had been there with the school and they had stopped to read it too.) It turned out to be the mast of HMAS Stuart.... and there is a dedication plaque there. TFTH and Thanks for taking us here.
We wonder how this cache will fare once the redevelopment goes in. The kids enjoyed finding this cache. TFTC.
This used to be my weekend home. I spent most of my teenage years as a Naval Cadet so I know this area very well.
Wasnt very kid friendly today. I had 22 month old geoboy with me and we ended up sliding down the hill on our bums. That was fun... it was getting up that wasnt. The little bit of moisture that was in the grass was enough to make things very slippery!!
I enjoyed the views years ago and I still enjoyed it today.

found. took the long way around and had to trek through some really long bushland.
From the car park it was a splendid walk through the park and to this extraordinary large field of grasses at the end of it to be rewarded by an awesome view of the Canning River. We were pretty much happy with this find because it is our first ammo container cache! We had read about and saw ammo container caches before in Facebook but this is the first time we saw a real one! TFTC, Team Gunn Parker. Greeting from Geocaching Malaysia in Facebook.
Parked our car at a park nearby and walked across the field of grasses. The sky was blue and so was the Canning River. Found the ammo container and as we walked back to our car met with an Australian couple with two playful dogs. Thank you for bringing us here, Team Gunn Parker.
Epic mission in thongs!! Found it while on a break from uni. Thanks for the great cache!

Parked south of it and it took me a minute to figure out which direction it was since I was relying on a printed map which I had zoomed too close to show any landmarks that could have helped... Was glad I had read the logs since it let me approach the cache from the right direction... followed the trails in the long grass for an easy find. Fun cache!
Found it! Easier to go down the hill instead of through the long grass =P Thanks for the cache!
The first of what was to be a south to north, hills to coast epic round trip of night caching. Sadly though, domestic bliss intervened and then the rain started. Although I did get a story out of my only find for the night. Found the cache easy peasy, slipped my way to it (always a great look), opened her up (not much inside anymore, sorry didnt have anything on me), and proceeded to sign log. As always, balanced like a 13 year old russian gymnast, I proceeded to stumble forward whilst signing the log, and after stepping on a rather annoyed SNAKE, broke the world record for high and long jumps in one jump!!!!!! If only K-Max was there to see it!!!

Found at 2.10pm on a dampish day. The access is a 1.5 Terrain but the last few metres on a wet day we think are nearer a 2! It was a bit too cool for Moses trekking sticks today, thank goodness. We approached from the lower side only to start sinking in the thick matted grass which seemed to be over some very boggy ground so backtracked a short distance to try from higher ground. That was the way to go today, with a bit of grass skiing towards the end. The cache is in very good condition and dry as a bone. It has been raining quite a bit lately so it looks like there's no need to shift it. Took a penguin - or at least we think it's a penguin, and left a dinosaur. Thanks Team Gunn Parker for going to the trouble to place this big cache for us to enjoy finding. We would recommend it to anyone.
Found it with a strong 3-some team. We approached the cache from the lower ground, but the last bit was indeed very grassy and wet and somewhat challenging. We ploughed our way to GZ, found the cache easily, and tracked back on higher ground which was a lot easier.
Thanks, hwodv - NL

Easy and quick find. Left the TB as my travel plans don't include NZ. Left a 100 CFA coin.
Yep, easy, logical spot, well worn track. We must add insect repellant in our backpack. Dropped off TB BC Fastball Championship. It is now about 3km closer to NZ and should be an easy pick-up before you catch a plane to NZ.

The frog turned up as dropped in my watch list in River View so soon as dinner was done I grabbed one of they gypsy's camped on our front lawn (Liz and Bruce) and asked if they would like to come for a quick drive to a cache for a GC pick up so I might decode a mystery cache. We then all had a chuckle as I told them the cache name and what I was going for, it turned out that they had already done that cache today and there was some debate as to bringing the coin home so I might discover it being a bit of a Geocoin enthusiast.

Took us less than 15 min cycle to get there and find out why it has been named River View.
Boy, THAT'S a river view! I want one like that.
For a change, we found the cache reasonnably quickly. We thought the war was on as we opened the ammo box, an army of bombers flew just over our head in the form of a swarm of bees on the move. We laid very flat and very still as they went past!
Great spot, nice cache. TFTH.

We did this one at night, for us it adds a point of difficulty, which we enjoy. Took the long walk with the big hill but wasn't a big problem. The view of the river was great and noticed that it is a popular fishing spot for some.
We found the cache with no problems but just as we had retrieved the ammo container we heard muggles heading towards us. With no-where to run we hid!! Hubby and I killed the lanterns and both layed down in the long grass. We must have looked like a couple of not so young teenagers having a bit of a romp..lol but anyway the ammo tin survived being squashed under us and was re hidden safely.
Thanks for a great hunt, with lots of laughs.

This was my second attempt at this cache, and I am very pleased I didn't wait to attempt it any later into the summer, as the approach is already getting quite treacherous with the grass approaching waiste high in places.

Found by Mary & David at 1340. Stunning views as we wandered across the park then down to the watsonia, blue lupins and other wildflowering mysteries. Staying with muggle friends who have pale carpet, so we took the jungle approach rather than the one through the swamp. TNLN, but dropped off the Flutter-bye TB. Our thanks to Team Gunn Parker.
HAHA nice spot this one, i know the clue said u didnt have to get wet or go up big hills but we did both!!! by accident of course, accidently slipped in the marshland and got wet, and then were convinced we had to climb those hills to get to it, which it turned out u didnt. haha cos the grass was all wet it was slippery so it was quite amusing trying to clamber up the banks. good find in the end

I tried to park at the closer designated parking, but the gates were locked today. I was close enough anyway. I'm glad its winter at the moment and the snakes are sleeping, otherwise this approach would have been a little scary as the grass and weeds were past my knees in the last 50m.
Found the cache easily, everything was dry around here today. Happy to find this after the last one was melted. Thanks Team Gunn Parker for replacing this cache, you sure cna get a good view of the river from here, and it's a great spot to go for a walk. TNLN, T4TH

Hi All
I have been out for a look and sure enough the container is toast. Even I had to look twice at it to recognise it.
This cache WILL be back online but the area will need time to recover from the fire, stay tuned.
