Looked for it with two jr cachers. Lots of muggles including newly wed ones getting wedding photos. The 0 point seemed like an odd spot and could not see it in the only place to hide it need the 0 point. After reading the log I can see why. Found 3 others on the trip so all is not lost. it was a good excuse to take my daughter and friend who had never been to the top of that hill.
Can confirm this cache IS GONE. Knowing where it was, I peeked in whilst doing a nearby new cache (172m away apparently). The nest is empty.
Thanks Mt Biker, we had our eye on this one, we were thinking that it needed a visit. We will take a replacement out in the next couple of days.
hmmm - fair idea where I thought we'd find this one, especially after reading the clue...
But no cache where Thelostmatt and I looked.... So either wrong place or been muggled
there were certainly enough of them about!

Searching in the cold is no fun!
No idea where this cache was, didn;t help the gps wasn't working great. Not sure if it's been muggled or just well hidden. Planning to go back and have another look when it's warmer and lighter!

Good lunchtime cache, just a short drive from work. Managed to arrive between muggles. Intended to eat on top of the hill to enjoy the view, but the magpie sitting nearby was inching closer and closer. It had an evil look on its face and was about to make a grab for the burger, so I gave it a miss and ate in the car.
Had a fair idea where it should be according to coordinates, but could not see this one. Has either been muggled (possibly?) or I've got something wrong (more likely).
Will try again another time.

dragged out by the guys at work to go caching, left our nice warm office for the winter weather outside, turned out to be a good day for it and a nice walk as well. number 6 for thr trip and lucky last.
#166 (166+2=168) Found at 1530...the last one for the lunchtime walk with NoidnCo and Wink Inc. TFTC!!
On a sunny on top of Mt. Ainslie is just perfect. This pretty much explains the high muggle population up here as well. With Red Tag covering the place it was an easy retrieval.
Clever hide spindoc
What a stunner of a view and Harley-WR is the perfect tour guide!
Thanks

I loved this hide. Quite ingenious and very opportunistic. First in ACT, while on our NSW, ACT tour.
AR found this one with Walking Hill. The seventh and last for the afternoon. We found one cache every 30 minutes today.
Early morning climb in the semi darkness to search for the cache at about 0630. Totally Muggle-free at that time of the morning and found it after about 5 minutes search. Nice position and TFTC.
While we have been caching for some months we have not been logging them.
It is time to catch up.
We spent the day travelling with SamWalkers.

Travelling in convoy with Nigen4 today. I had to take a look at the log sheet to find out when we found the cache, some how I forgot to log it.
Our first time up Mt Ainslie and on a glorious day to boot. This is a really clever hide at a great location and is highly recommended. Be sure to do GC11XXB on your way back down if you come by car.
In town from Brisbane for a workshop, and as I hadn't been to Canberra before got to experience the grand tour of Canberra with my relatives. They were new to geocaching - now geocaching converts - but were the ones to find both caches we looked for today! Great views, TFTC
Very tricky to find while avoiding muggles. In the end we were sitting right next to it trying to work out where it could be!
Reached the summit with geosister. GPS insisted it was at the base of the hill. Wandered around pretending to be all touristy, sat down some distance away from where the GPS said it was and drank some water. Used the stick on a nearby feature and bingo! TFTC
Yes by far a busy time on Mt Ainslie. A huge storm was moving over Woden area and the lightning was a popular attraction for everyone on the mountain.
Manged to grab the cache with many muggles around and none were the wiser.
No coin in this cache though.

I don't know how I didn't find this one, but I couldn't. Coordinates had me down the hill, and with no information about the cache with me (bad planning) I gave up.
Found it - though there was a certain amount of trash out before we could cache out.
Found nice and quickly with hailtothethief and newpanicsfan, few muggles around so we loitered until npf could get the cache back in it's hide.
Was amazed by this cache. Has been muggled very few times despite its very public position! Nice work.
Great morning, lovely views. Had to be a bit subtle when extracting and replacing this one due to large number of tourists but an exciting start to our day. TFTC
As approaching GZ I had a sudden flash back of being here before! oops apparently I totally forgot to log the cache, oops. Anyway mistake all resolved and It was nice comming up here again! TFTC!
I quickly found this cache, as the way it is hidden was already known to me. So I only had to wait for a few muggels to leave, to be able to log.

Found 16:35. Parked nice and close and retrieving it was easy, always have suitable tools in the boot for all types of extractions. Signing log and than a coach full of tourists pulled up. OK time to make a coffee and wait so cache could safely be replaced. Weather was great today and the views fabulous.
Got this one out of the way quickly berfore heading off on a run.

Very clever hide. KNew where it was going to be as I approached GZ. Now to wait wait til muggle free. Saw an opening , then quickly out, signed log, replaced and all in the clear.

I thought this would be my toughest of today's quick finds, but amazingly, it was the quickest of the lot! It's been a long time since I have been up on Mount Ainslie and I think I might head up again soon when I have more time and not on the hunt....

This was our second cache for the lunchtime walk. Fantastic views from up here.

The geokids had never been to Canberra previously, so I dragged them up here after dark so they could appreciate the wonderful architecture of the city and enjoy the view which they certainly did. Geoson took lots of time exposures - we'll see how they work out.
We pretty soon found the cache location, but how to retrieve? The cover of darkness made it easier than I imagine it would be during the day. It was too dark for anyone to see what I was up to as I sat on the cache and used the clue!
Fantastic view - Thanks Spindoc Bob & The S's

If I had come up from Melbourne just to find this cache and sign the log, then boy did I waste my time. Lucky that there are other caches near by and that I had people to visit in Canberra anyway.
Long story short, found the cache, but had no pen on hand to sign the log.
Muggle factor was low, but by the time I worked out that the cache is not at GZ (probably was once upon a time), I finally found it, but took a while to get due to a lone muggle going up to the becon.
Opened cache, admired log, wished to sign it, closed it up, then replaced it.
Took a bunch of photos too!

Found with the help of Taxpayer's dollars. Found during a layover after an official visit to Canberra. TNLNSN. TFTC. Kia ora.
Headed up with mr_roo and grabbed this one before Ra drove down to collect us at the bottom.

Went out with jusojara to grab a few caches. We got driven up the hill by Ra before she went down the hill to do a multi. Wish I could spilt myself into two to get more too. At gz we found the cache quickly Ju used the stick and got the cache TFTC
Nice easy find, thanks.
Co-ords spot on, so only 1 place to look really.
The view from here IS better than Black Mountain we think.

Found with the kiwi team on our great Australian caching tour. Yes, lots of muggles, and yes, it's about the best view in the area. Great spot, thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

While I was in the area, thought I'd do a quick pole hunt. My stick wasn't the proper configuration, but fortunately, there were plenty around. Quick work and a slick hide. Thanks.
A nice hide. Went up at night, so the muggle factor was low.
However, when the tool isn't big enough get another one. Luckily Dad had his toolbox in the car =P

No idea how this ended up on my watch list, but with the notifications of late about it going missing, I looked it up and assumed if I was watching it, that I must have done it, and was quite surprised to find I hadn't.
Well, with it going missing so often, then it looks like I'd better grab it while I can.
As soon as I saw where the GPS was pointing the penny dropped. D'Oh, of course.
So while I distracted the small group of muggles by taking their photo for them, a mate I invited along, removed the cache.
When the muggles went off to look at the other views, we signed it - Does FTF count if it's only first to sign a NEW log ?
Quickly returned it before more muggles arrived, and then headed off to get - Underneath and Cache on the hill - just two of the other ones on this here mountain.

Unbelievable. Nay and I were discussing on the way back from maintaining Bread and Buda(wang), how good it was to have all our caches online.
Although I was tempted to archive the cache, this is one of the oldest and most popular in Canberra and deserves to continue. Should be back online soon - with a twist.

Hey, since I've been to this one before I checked it out and it's gone. Didn't have the tools to put a new one in it's place though sorry.
No luck today, had a lot of pokes and prods around, trying to time with low muggle activity. Aroused a bit of suspicion but no cache unfortunately.
Found with stace8383.... both had the same idea at the same time.... Nice spot...Nice view and cheaper than Telstra tower
a great hide, and great views.
after finding the necessary cache removal tools the cache was easily recovered.
not a lot of muggle traffic today

Certainly was a high muggle factor. I was sitting directly above GZ resting my weary bones while surreptitiously filling out the log, when a tourist bus pulled up and very mature tourists started disembarking less than 2 metres from where I was sitting - this made replacing the cache a necessary masterpiece of nonchalance! TFTC
It was a very wet windy drive up the mountain, but it was worth it when I found the container !

Final we made it to the top of the hill after walking up it from the AWM. Quick find with high muggle traffic around. It helps when you have two people. TFTC. Another half an hour and there would not have been enough light to find the cache. Off now to walk back down the hill in the dark.
Whoops, wrote the 9th in the log...
Nice view, plenty of people around, stealthy retrieval was in order!
Thanks!
PS need to restock the paper in this cache whoever is heading up next!

Great view on a fabulous Canberra winters day. Meet up with Mandaj and cached a bit. Had a picnic lunch while sitting on the wet painted seats (they weren't wet - we checked)
JJ enjoyed trying to retrieve the cache although he wasn't really very stealthy but who notices what little boys get up to anyway

Wasn't expecting to pick this one up, but ended up coming to this exact point for a wrong choice on a multi that we were doing, so notched this one up as a find instead so not all was lost.

Had me stumped for a bit at the beginning, but we found it fairly quickly. sneaky!
Without this cache I would never have thought to bring the kids up here to see the view of Canberra. It sure has grown since I left in 1995.
No TB in sight though.

Another cache destination on my tour de Ainslie today
As I strolled toward the summit I could see the pole and made a beeline for it
Oops! Wrong pole apparently
At a lower level I found another much humbler pole to poke with my stick
Amongst the completely deserted lookout crowd I victoriously signed the log book and with a flourish rehid the cache

After climbing back up from Fallen, I had to have a bit of a sit down to wait for the tourists that had parked behind me to leave.
So I pulled out my notebook and started writing any plain rubbish that crept into my head.
Finally they left, just as a school bus of kids arrived to have their lunch on top of the mountain.
Eventually the opportunity came where I went and sat at the cache, continued to pretend to be writing in my journal as I grabbed the cache.
Quickly signed the log and returned the cache to its hide.

Found this with Rick...
Very nice hiding spot
Not too many muggles around as it was a cold overcast day... There were, however, a group of, presumably tourists, that decided to have a picnic at one of the tables for some reason...
i believe this was my 51st visited cache, but my 50th cache find...

I now have 120 photos of the sun setting at Mt Ainslie - if it wasn't the odd family car, it was coaches of muggles driving around the top - eventually a quiet moment, I bend down to tie my shoelace and a cyclist decides to return up the one (wrong) way. A few more photos; a longer stick; more muggles. I finally retrieve the cache and sign the log, and on return a couple's car breaks down next to the hiding spot!!! Eventually get the cache back safe and sound. A great view, and a challenging cache! TFTC
Decided to hunt for this one at night with my Dad. But forgot the torch. Had heaps of fun poking around everything using my phone light =P
