I didn't realise this had been made unavailable. I'll have to sort out the data flows through our geocaching information systems Anyway, the bridge was open today (no fence) for the Sydney marathon. I got to GZ but was unable to search due to two police officers and a couple of marshalls standing directly opposite the location.
Did not find this one as there is a newly built fence between us and the cache sight. Maybe a check of this cache is in need. We could be wrong but the clue fitted what we thought was ground zero.
Found without any trouble on a late night visit. Nice night for a cruise around the cement factory! I was a bit worried I was going to be bothered by security from the car yard but noone came to see what I was up to.
Took a penguin and left a notepad.
Whoever dropped off one of the Fifth Element TBs didn't log it. Can't remember which one it was and they are all showing as being in other caches! Would the next person who visits please move it.
Thanks Stubby Holder!

Ahh the memories of when this bridge did go somewhere.
Hours upon hours of traffic jams. Anyhow had to visit this one twice as there were some jumpers near the spot (actually I dont know if they were going to jump).

We don't have a bridge like this in Melbourne.
Searched through the garbage for a while, then thought about the most likely spots it would be.

Our first cache in Australia, not at the most beautifull place.
The walk through the city to the cache was very nice.

Greetings from the states. While visiting Australia, I had to do a litte caching. I found the location without any problems, but could not find the actual cache container. If you could send me an e-mail with the location of the container I'd appreciate it. Thanks and Best Regards, Jake's Family. P.S. If you ever visit the U.S., bring your GPS, lot's of great cache's over here!!
took 2 goes 11.30 pm by torch light too much rubbish. back at 10 am. and made the find. just came in on the ferry from tas and leaving for 800km drive home. dropped off my dutch bear stranded in tas and trying to get to the netherlands. maybe someone going os will give him a lift. thanks stubby holder.
Our first of five finds for the day. Took a few minutes of searching before Shaggy made the find. We were lucky not to have too many buses passing by to interupt our search. Took a Cade card CD and left a packet of bottle stoppers. Nice area! The skygods were most kind to us. Thanks Stubby Holder!
Dunno why I kept missing this one... Easy one, but looks like a few people have gone through a few sets of batteries there looking for the cache.....
Found by Mary & David at 0955. The way the waterfront is going, you'd think there'd be apartments here by now. Good views of famous bridges on both sides. A few spots of rain were a temporary relief from the heat. Took NZ notebook, left photo frame. Thanks to stubby holder.
One piece of advice: If you plan to jog to this cache during your 1hr lunch break and you work in Circular Quay, make sure you do it on a Friday. Reason: It will take you about 1.5hrs (factoring in getting changed changed and showering after).
Great cache location. Great fun avoiding the eyes of nearby workmen.

Found this one on my way to "the crow". thoguht it would be a good idea to walk to both of these from Town Hall station. Which was nice, but i paid for it later...
a pretty easy find, spent a while overlooking the cars being loaded, managed to avoid the look of the security gaurds i think.

I found it. While I was down in Sydney over the weekend I found some time to go and do some finding and this was close to where I was staying. I walked to this one after I had done the 'The Crow'. I ended up being on the other side of the river from where the cache was. So walk around I did. There is was. I had a couple of drivers from a wedding eye me off strangely. You get that sometimes.
Had fun, this was the second in a journey that took me 19km by foot.

Walked down from uni, after searching unsuccessfully for Harbourside on the way. Ended up being a pretty long walk but I got the cache so it's all OK.
A simple yet challenging hideaway on this forgotten urban ghost-road. For a minute there, thought we'd need a jackhammer but with rain streaming down and the GPS windscreen wipers on full, the cache finally revealed itself. Travel bugs gone (and logged below, we see)...the Reigate Squires have yet to find one of these species. No swaps but managed to keep the logbook dry. Thanks for the hunt, Mr Holder.

We had a really good time finding this one! No one around, but we did notice the bridge guards and could only imagine what they thought of us. We took Robert Arthur Bear Esq to educate him with some American history, and left two travel bugs, "Laura the GeoButterfly" and "Pooh The Explorer". These TBs were sent on their journey by two young girls in the USA, who asked us to help them get started in Australia. (Logs updated shortly to reflect TBs).
Since we didn't know which Geocache the two would be placed in, I didn't log them anywhere. Now that they've been placed, I can "leave" them in the cache. Thanks so much to Doug and Gretchen for helping them along their way!!!
I arrived in Sydney tonight for a business trip. It’s 7.30pm, I’m sitting in my Hotel room wondering what to do… I could watch TV, or maybe go to the pub. I could go to the cinema or maybe dine out… But all those things I can do back home. I felt like a little adventure. So out with the GPS, type in the coords, and only 2.8km away is a cache. So off I go. Of course, following an arrow through the streets of Sydney is not always easy. And some bits were a little dark – should I be walking here? Is it safe? Anyway, as I approached GZ, things started to get spectacular. I’d seen this ‘bridge to somewhere’ from a distance, during the day, before, but close up, and at night, this was an awesome sight! I said g’day to the guard, who smiled at my GPS (maybe he knew what I was up too). I made sure I took lots of photos, just in case he didn’t… At GZ, there were more spectacular views, and within 10 mins I had the cache! No swaps today. But took the travel bugs.
Thanks, ThomasS.
Thanks, ThomasS.
This was our second attempt at this one. 1st time too many car enthusiasts. Today we started early and beat the rush. Took ball keyring. Left Robert Arthur Bear Esq. and glow glasses. Thanks Stubby Holder.
Not too hard to find...but the walk over the bridge was almost fatal due to the high killer winds....The security guards who patrol the bridge must think us cachers are all nuts... as I approached the location, a security car drove past....so I tried to look like a boring nerdy "I-love-bridges" tourist....
When you are doing all your caching in a strange city using public transport it is often hit and miss! Today we were close but started out on the wrong side of the bridge so had to retrace our steps and walk over the bridge. We had no idea of the size of the cache so diligently looked in all the wrong places for quite a while. Howver in the end we found it! On the way back over the bridge we talked to the security guards - who were keeping a good eye on us but luckily we took enough photos for them to think we are just mad New Zealanders. We found out that they do a 12 hour stint on guard duty - they don't really know what they are guarding but they said that it seems to work!
We took a Philippines coin and a toy car and left a NZ pen and a fridge magnet pad.
Thanks
Iris & Rodney

Failure on my first attempt at my first cache. Got there, poked around a bit, was working up the nerve to get down for some serious bush whacking when a big ol' greek wedding convoy pulled up at the car park for an extended family photo shoot. That was too weird for me.
Will try again next week.

We approached the bridge and walked along watching the remote control cars, decided too many people were waiting in the bus shelter for the bus. Didn't feel comfortable with searching today, will try again another day.

This was SNIFTERS 3rd visit to the site and Hounddogs 2nd. The first time we were there the local council workers were there also. They have set up a race track for their remote control cars and play with these during their lunch breaks. There is a starting grid and small orange cones as well as some pipes to make the track. It looks like fun but when you need to find a cache that they are standing on it is a bit tricky. Came back another day but SNIFTER was a little short for the task. Back we go again and this time we grabbed it. All those TB's just waiting to go places how could we resist.
OK. Geocaching in Australia is a little harder if you are not prepared. I did not have any mapping software and the www.geocaching.com did not provide links to mapquest or a locally provided web site e.g. www.whereis.com.au . Anyway I was able to do two caches in Sydney. But most of the time it was all business a little bit of pleasure.
I desperately needed to drop off travel bugs; I was running out of time– so off to the bridge to nowhere it was only 1.5 miles from my hotel with a heading of west. The last time I was in Sydney was nearly five years ago – Sydney has changed. I crossed ANZAC bridge four times before I found an access road whoa! Found the cache nice location. Some facts about the ANZAC bridge – did you know it’s the only country in the world that flys two flags, an Australia and New Zealand flag as a tribute to the ANZAC – lest we forget. Now I need to head off to a RSL club for a cheap meal and a beer. Thanks for the cache (TFTC) took nothing – left TB’s.
sorry for the typo - still trying to catchup on sleep. (typo's corrected).

Easy find once I found where to park. Buses are probably late as usual.
No swaps.

Got to the cache site, but I was dressed for a conference I was attending at the Convention Centre. So I couldn't go scrambling around to locate the cache. I'll try again next time I'm in Sydney. It was a nice walk up from Darling Harbour across the bridge to the Bridge to Nowhere.
Happy yo find this one. Glorious day and enjoyed watching the guys racing remote cars. They were almost sitting on top of the cache. Left my finger prints
Came back a week later, and found it. Took revolving plane toy -- enjoyed the view. Suspicious looking guards idly watching us suspicious looking geocachers. Beware...
I finally came back and found this cache today. It was quite satisfying after not being able to find it in the past.
Left a Paris Metro ticket (unused) and a car. Took Bamberger Bierkellerderkela TB.

Ebeneezer, you weren't there watching a couple with a dog beat the bushes, while waiting for your turn to find the cache were you?
We tried but couldn't find the thing.

Team Sol sent friends with a TB to this cache without a GPSr They used the pictures from previous visitors and a couple of hints to get to the busstop. They called me in Maryland, USA when they found the cache yesterday ... or was it today? I don't know what was taken but the Bamberger Bierkellerdeckela TB was left. Les, Andy, Jill and Phil visited the cache site. More to follow with pictures.
Team Sol
Hey, I just checked the BB TB webpage and the distance traveled is wrong. The TB went west not east so your actual milage was from Dulles to LAX to Melbourne to Sydney.

We had a false start on the wrong side of the bridge and then had to go ride over the other bridge to get to the other side. Homed in on ground zero pretty quickly, but it took us a couple of minutes of searching around before it suddenly became glaringly obvious.
When we noticed the security guard on the other bridge watching us we acted as conspicuously as we could and started taking photographs of critical national infrastructure (or something like that). He was alert, but not alarmed. We smiled and nodded as we rode back.

We wanted a cache to throw Boomer Bug where it can begin its return flight to the US, and this was a) on the way and b) popular with tourists.
It didn't fit, so we replaced the container with a large clip-lock box. Mama Bear loved the horse in there, so we swapped that for a compass!

After a brief detour to the wrong location I kicked myself, and then set my GPS to the correct datum. Soon I was at (the correct) GZ. Unfortunately I searched high & low but could not locate the cache.

Our 200th cache... Yeehah!!! We were only at this location last week logging both bridges for different locationless caches.
In between showers and keeping our I on the security guards we managed to slip under their guard and straight to GZ. Swapped a rat for a travelling game. Thanks Stubby Holder for our 200th cache and for great location.
What will they do with the site?? Nice easy find, keep an eye out for the security guys on the bridge to somewhere though!! I'm sure it looks a little suspicious wandering around with a backpack, holding something in the hand and searching for something, all the while trying not to look out of place!!! Left a stapler kit for the lip balm.
Had the location nailed before we looked at the map. Deciding whether we were allowed to drive along the roads and park there was another story though. Ended up finding a non restricted space within the 100 metres of the cache and a little searching revealed the booty in no time!
Took the travel bug and left a bit of caching memorabilia, an I Found It candle (made by Snifter).
Thanks stubby holder!

Golden Retrievers (and friends) stopped by on the way to the airport, going home to Oklahoma.
Came looking for the travel bug but EcoTeam beat us to it. Took nothing, left spray lotion. Seem to remember there was another cache very close by here...

On the way from WP1 of Mind Socket's Stumble etc. to Blue, we thought Damn! We should've brought the details of Bridge to Nowhere!)
Luckily, a PDA and a mobile soon had the page in hand and we found this after a bit of double-searching. (Mama Bear has learned that Papa Bear doesn't bend much in the middle, so using her greater flexibility to look under things he's already checked is worthwhile...)
Didn't make a swap.
I remember waiting for this bridge to let a boat through on a couple of late night returns from the city. Ahh.. nostalgia!
Found it fairly quickly, but the bus didn't come. Someone had pinched my collection of European picture books. Drat.
Did no swaps, but left A Horse with No Name to start its journey to Scandinavia.

This is the second bridge to nowhere cache we have done the other being in a spooky spot. Interesting watching all the new cars being driven onto the transports and it might explain some of those scratches and dings on new cars. Being responsible cachers we removed the porno mags as we would not want any kids to find them while looking for the cache. From here we went up to the protest march.
Found this one very quickly, after first finding a package of very dubious European reading material...
A great spot for photos and general interest... I spent some time afterwards going green with envy looking at Aussie Rules - Greg Norman's new ship...
Thanks Stubby Holder

Looks like it was busy down here toady, alas it was after I had found it first and left.
Was that a Geoyacht I saw over yonder.
Swapped a CD for a Mini Fan.

Talk about out of the way places. We found this only hours after the other tribes. Easy find and location. They do need to do something about the bridge!
Again, nice one stubby holder. Look forward to another one of your caches.

Arrived at the parking area and was greeted by a shiny green geo-kart.
George was already underway with the search, and Grem and I joined him in what is a most interesting area. After about 10 minutes of monkeying around, I surfaced the cache just centimeters from where i! had looked already.
After all that, Sandy Feet had beaten us both by 2 hours.
Nice one Stubby Holder, a good lunchtime cache, and I picked up On The Run as well.
