After some searching I give up, I recommend the CO to check whether the cache is still where it used to be.
There was a fishing muggle almost on top of this so while my stealth game is getting better, I didnt want to disturb this peaceful (but not as yet successful) fisherman. Ill save this for next time and get the couple up the road Beautiful day on Matariki weekend
Glad to redeem this previous DNF (2 years ago) which was a quick find today. Noisy and lively surf out there today, great views of Mount too. It's head home today after a couple of nights at Urenui beach. A nice long weekend in Taranaki was just what I wanted, too many times previously it's just been a time-constrained day visit and have never really scratched beyond the surface of the area, or the caching. I was keen to head home via SH45 surf highway and a couple of other caches. Also keen to up my cache finds by the CO Phronimos, and this was a Pheeding Phrenzy as I got a few of his, as a CO I'm aiming to get finds by him up to triple figures, today will help with that aim. Phanks very much to all regional COs for their placements and maintenance/choices of awesome places to get people to visit.
Found with JR. Having recently discovered challenge cache and how satisfying they can be when one finally is able qualify. This 2003 placed cache was on the hit list right from the start. Check out GC9N3G1. This cache has to get a favourite point for still being here.
Went fishing along here all them times and that'd just been chilling there love finding little spots
Cache found during our drive on the beautiful and scenic Surf Highway 45. the view of the lighthouse with Mount Taranaki behind is superb even if the mount is covered in clouds.TB in -TB out and a TB discovered and left for the next ones.Thank you klaymen for the cache and the discovery of this magnificent place
Thanks klaymen for the cache. Its #1887 for us. We found your cache on Monday 18 March 2024. Quick find when I followed the geotrails!

Day 16: Around TaranakiTodays journey took us around the Taranaki Region, where we headed as far south as Cape Egmont before heading up to Pukeiti, and back to New Plymouth for two more parks: Tpare and Pukekura Parks. After that, we searched for the best views of the Maunga from Te Wera Wera Bridge and walked the Coastal Walkway back to the Port. Another truly productive day, and thanks for all the caches around the Taranaki Region. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: Came here just before heading up to the lighthouse for photos. This one confused me a little because I couldnt seem to find either hint item on a long hunt. But, I finally found one of the hinted items and the cache along with it. Now, where is the other bit? Thanks for the cache and views!
Enjoying a drive along the coast on our trip to New Plymouth. Its Geodads 50th and we just had to do some searching . Lovely spot! Thanks for the cache and the smiley.
We are staying in Eltham Taranaki with a cousin I have never met before. We were lucky enough to be chauffeured around various places and picked up a few caches. Very please to find a very old cache in NZ. Found the container after a short search. Thank you klayman for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment and others to find. Greetings from England.
Weekend getaway succesfull! And Mt Taranaki showed himself a few times. Beautiful area!Tftc
Reinforcements had just arrived when I discovered the cache. Still not sure about the 2nd part of the hint. Thanks klaymen!
Omg, what a cold, welt windy day. The sea was wild so pleased it wasn't a difficult find. Found with NutcacheBNE leaving NP
Nice find, thank you! Exploring the Taranaki during the school holidays. A few muggles about surprisingly on this wet and windy day but safely found and put back.
#3,937: Oldie but a goodie!!I came to this one with my sister and brother-in-law who are visiting from the US. I flew up from Chch to meet them, and have a spin around the Naki. I didn't know this one was so old until I got back home. Thanks for keeping it alive.SL/TFTC!!
Another oldie on our NZ target list. Arriving at GZ spent some time searching likely spots then had to go back to past logs for a hint. Eventually found after spotting a rouge rock amongst the grass. Log slightly damp but writable, thanks to klaymen for this stop over.
Thankfully a quick find as the coords were accurate for us. Could use some TLC as a bit damp but still was able to write my name on the log.
Another day in the land of the long white cloud. TeamARF, JACSTeam and I headed south to Wellington. Lots of rainy caching but still some awesome caches and spectacular locations. Thanks to all COs!!
Day 5: We ( TeamARF, Gcoven and myself) have travelled over from Brisbane, Australia to have a visit since we were not able to make it to the Mega. We have spent some considerable time solving puzzles and making plans in preparation.
Today the plan is to work on collecting things of our list. We have a gigantic list of old, interesting, highly favourited, challenges and a few Geo-arts to try and collect over the next 10 days. There is a good chance we got lazy with our logging and do some joint variation of our initials - TGJ, GJT or JGT.
Please excuse the generic log, just have extremely little data to try and survive on it for the 10 days. However, you can be assured that if we have found your cache it was special to us for some reason or in a special location - so thank you for contributing to our holiday.
I will edit logs when back in Brisbane to add more details to those that need more details and of course I will be adding favourite points as I go along.

Some wonderful caches found and great sites seen.
All logs signed tm/ww NZ
Thanks to the cache owners, without their efforts this game would not be possible.

St a pleasure to be here, this is our third time here at the Lighthouse. Last time in 2010 we didn't search for a cache here. We don't know why. Maybe this one wasn't here. But it says it's from 2003. However we searched awhile for this one and then we were lucky. There was a sound that you could hear when a stone clicks against a plastic box.

Bit of a tricky one as it’s quite overgrown. Looking at a picture from the logs helped! TFTC!
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [B)].
This time it's a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Today the road led me from Palmerston North via Whanganui to New Plymouth .
There were quite some interesting caches on the route, that wanted to be visited [^].
This geo-treasure contributed to the finds of today. Cool [^]!
This crossover-oldie was on my list . And I was lucky to make a quick find .
A big thanks [:X] to the owner klaymen for hiding and long-term maintaining this cache [^] - and best regards from Germany !

Bugger! No pen lol so took a pic! This was tricky! Quite overgrown and lots of muggles however pretty pleased with myself thanks for bringing us to a super beautiful spot!
Having had a bit of a slow start to the holiday period, I finally got on the road and out of town (Wellington) yesterday, making it as far as Wanganui. The plan today was to head to New Plymouth via the coastal road, and collect as many caches as I could find. Sadly, that was not as many as I wanted and I had a record (for me) number of DNF's today. But, regardless, the glorious sunshine and easy driving made it a wonderful day.
This however, was one of the caches I was able to find, exactly as described. All good here.
Thanks to the CO for placing this geocache and bringing me here.
I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

Sad we couldn’t go to the lighthouse but got some magestic views of the ocean with smiley568
With the wet weather in Taranaki today our plan to walk some of the tracks on the mountain had to be changed. The decision was made to drive down to Hawera from Stratford then up the Surf Highway to New Plymouth.
Out near the coast the weather was better than inland around the mountain - in fact we couldn't see the mountain most of the day. It made sense to take the side road to the Cape and lighthouse as we were passing. Photos were taken and the couple of caches at this location were quickly found in between the rain showers.

Found someone else using this cache! Log book wet and full so didn’t bother with signing it, TFTH!
An easy find as cache was lying out in the open. Have put it back where I think it should have been. Thanks for placing it
