Another old school cache done and dusted. Did the walk up in high humidity with Martin cousins and was glad to get GZ with its amazing views overlooking the beach below. It helped having 2 people with this cache as one would need assistance reaching the cache from the ground. Did the legals and replaced as found. TFTCM Cheers dkmacca FP awarded

Oh thanks tangles Have been meaning to do this grandfather cache for a very long time. Parked at the start of the wodi wodi track down on Hargreaves Laurance Drive. The upgraded works that is still in progress looks and is amazing. So much $ in moula is being spent here.Such an awesome walk, showing the stonemasons workmanship. Was a bit of a climb at GZ as there isnt that attribute or any attributes on this cache.Another old cache down for me.

Today:Did a beautiful long hike in this area from Thirroul to Stanwell Park which took me pretty much all daylight hours to complete. Much of the track is closed for maintenance, but since it's a Saturday I was not bothering anyone and the track is good enough to walk. Enjoyed the gorgeous views along the way and a lot of very high quality geocaching. This area has so many gems to offer! This cache:Nice old one to still have around! Took some effort to get high enough. Broke off some dead branches that were not safe to hold onto anymore. Got there in the end and was happy to sign the log, tftc!

So happy to finally have this 2001 cache under my belt! Its been taunting me every time I visit Wollongong, but havent quite had the time or energy to tackle it. This morning Scaphoid and myself made this hike our main goal before heading back to Canberra! There is a new track being built heading up to this location, so it was super easy to follow and quite steady going! There will be no better time to tackle this walk once its complete thats for sure Smile When we arrived at GZ we were initially confused, where was it hidden? Its only listed as a T2. but thats a 2001 Tangles T2! It ended up being a surprisingly tough climb to retrieve! But we were super happy to find the cache in the only logical location after I managed to muscle my way up there! Thanks Tangles for the hide & The Arkaroo for keeping this active for so long! Great to finally complete it, loved the walk & views

21-Jul-24
Found on a two-day caching trip to Wollongong with Loci612, Toy Hunters, baristayan and buckoraider. On the final day, we split up, Loci612 and I doing some more caching, and the others attending an event and going on a stunning walk. This cache was on our list of to-dos today due to it being an oldie, this cache was placed before I was born, which is strange to think about. I was slightly concerned about seeing that the path was closed, but Loci612 didn't hesitate and went straight through the hole in the temporary fence and the ascent began. It was great to see the new track coming together, it's going to make a big difference once it's completed. The scenery along the way was stunning, particularly at GZ. No whales were spotted, but some trains were! We spent some time here enjoying the views before heading off with our eyes set on an unloved cache not too far ahead! Thank you Tangles for this cache!

We had a long walk today, probably about 14 KM. We found this one towards the end of our walk.
It was absolutely lovely to find such an old hide along the Trail here. 2001!
A small amount of bush bashing on an overgrown footpad lead us to GZ, and the challenge ahead.
Mr Domsky gave a helping hand to get Mrs Domsky on her way up, and pretty soon she was holding the container in her hand.
About the location; it was a spectacular day to be out, with blue sky, little wind, and lots of whale spotting along the way. We walked today with Smythos whose names were already signed here.
At GZ, and up the tree, there were spectacular views, looking down and across the valley.
Thanks Tangles for maintaining this oldie

More like I just couldn’t reach it! So frustrating as I was really happy to stumble across a Tangles cache. Will most definitely be back with some assistance!

On a spectacular sunny spring day spent the day walking from Stanwell Park to Austinmer and picking up 4 caches along the way. Plenty of wildflowers out. Stunning views. Beautiful pocket of the world.

By far the oldest cache the tribe has found. Terrain rating needs an upgrade! TFTC.

So amazing to find a cache this old. Thank you for maintaining it. Upon getting input from the clue, coords and logs I had a pretty good idea of where it was. Unfortunately I could not get to it. Was just about to give up when muggle geofriend came over and literally pushed me up. Once on a stable section I was able to sign the log. Then game the rather dangerous and uncoordinated lowering back down.. luck only a small bump on the side but otherwise fine. Thanks again keep this cache alive.

OMG that was ridiculous to grab. Even the 6foot2 geohusband struggled to retrieve that one! Clue is good but think high and inside.

We walked from Stanwell Tops picking up 6 caches in 6km. A very pleasant walk for us seniors - fairly flat. We had read some logs and had a fair idea as to what to expect. Very accurate coords, plus a well-defined geohighway, gave no doubt as to where the cache was hiding. It was up to Dan to get his long uncoordinated limbs up the tree. A few shoulder strethes first. Then an inelegant climb. Make that a very inelegant climb. Then he eventually had CIH. That was fun. A FP. TFTC

I was down in the gong area today from the north to help sort out a WP for an epic teamwork cache a group of us are working on. I'd also come down with a small list of caches to "clean up" after running out of time at last year's mega. To be honest, I would like a few more days to do even more (the old old story) - there's some great caching to be had down here! With the primary objective done, and the rest of the crew piking due to this HOT and MUGGY day now reaching peak, I continued like a crazy man.... with a hike and a climb.

Parked at the south end of the Wodi Wodi track and set off in the heat with no breeze. Air was thick. Had lots of water but it was warm by the time I was on my way back! The bush is currently beautiful with many of the red gums now having lost 2019's winter bark. It was a really amazing trek up to the escarpment I have to say. Pretty tough getting up (did I say it was HOT?) but absolutely amazing.

Struggled to find my way cleanly thru to the last ~100m or so to GZ but once there, the views were taken in and some train spotting was had! Down to business; I looked around, at first to no avail. So, checked the hint and oh... so had a further look ...still nothing? Hmm. Well, some previous logs soon gave me the required hint - yup of course - and shortly after I had my name in the log. Trainspotting? More like Planespotting lol. Love an old retro stash BTW! My second June 2001 find today. Dipped our [novo Jasmer coin](https://coord.info/TB7AXHF) and re-hid as found. TFTC and views, Tangles. A fantastic journey up to here!

We just needed to decrypt the decrypted clue, and some other hints from the log got us there! TFTC!

I was looking for our list of must do caches on our upcoming trip and then vetoed this one after reading the logs and cache page. Still great to see it still alive after all this time.

Whatever you do, don't try to take a shortcut from the wodi wodi. Trying to scramble up steep, slippery slopes then up vertical cliffs not only ended up being slower but was nearly disastrous. Like others have said, the terrain rating on this cache is very underrated. I am quite tall and still struggled like crazy to climb the tree. Best off having someone lighter you can give a boost to. Fantastic views. Finally found it in the fading light. Now I'm definitely going to take the long loop around back down. TFTC

A new month, a new set of caches to get! I walked from around the conference centre at Stanwell Tops and via the dams. It’s all relatively flat on maintenance tracks. Easily doable and you will see two dams!

The first one was an attempt on Bush Garden, which was removed last year. That’s what you get for having an outdated interface, but the educational part at GZ was worth it.

The next first one was Divine Armchair, where I had a beautiful view of a train going through the Coalcliff area.

The second one was Caved Away, which reminded me that finding a rusty tin at an easy place is nicer than a plastic box on a very scary place.

The final one for today was Train Spotting, for which I needed to redecorate part of the forest to get enough vertical ascension to get to a stable part of the tree. Once spotted I braced myself and made the move, and then I had the problem of getting down again which was unfortunately via the same method I got up.

TFTC everybody!

Ah-hah! Vengeance is mine! Thank you Arkaroo for replacing this cache. This cache is very unique, both being a very historical hide and also a cache by Tangles whom I believe went before us and furthered geocaching for everyone involved. Very thankful and happy to have found this cache Smile

Happened to be nearby GZ today and I thought, hmm thais place looks familiar, I reckon there's a cache nearby. Turns out I was right - and I'd been here before! Thursday, 28 December 2006 to be exact. I enjoyed this cache the first time, and I enjoyed it again today. Thanks Tangles, you crazy guy. I know you're out there somewhere, take care old mate.

Chose a hot day and probably lingered to long at Scarborough pub before a tough walk up the escarpment but made all worth it by the views and a well hidden cache. TFTC

Out for a day of caching with wazza9 and diddyhonda, after a bit of a strenuous walk up towards the top of the escarpment after parking down on Lawrence Hargrave drive we arrived at gz and began the search.............no luck until we realized we had to look at another angle, soon the cache was in hand, we certainly enjoyed the views on the way up the hill to the caches in this area. Well worth the trip. Great to do an old cache by tangles too.

**Hey ...**

TFTC,
This has been on my watch list for so long now.
Out today with diddyhonda visiting from Germany and CATONY visiting from the Mid North Coast to share some quality time.
There were 2 small pockets of caches that provided me a chance to showcase some local caches and cachers.
The first area included what must be the biggest cache in world GZ5ZHFD, and even diddyhonda was impressed. The second was caches along the woddi woddi track. Rightly or wrongly, I chose to start at the bottom and walk up. I don't thing the half of CATONY that was there was very impressed.
This one was special because while it dates back to 30.06.2001 it has only had about 70 finders (many added since I started watching it in 2011) and is one of those by Tangels. A must do cache for everyone looking to do and appreciate the quality of caches placed during 2000 & 2001. What a shame I let it slip for so long.
Arrived at GZ and took in the hint, started to spread the search out and couldn't find anything. Went back to the GPS and read the log by Lonely_Rooster where I gained a useful hint, only because I have met him and am aware of his stature. We ganged together to search a special location and soon had CIH. How fantastic. I have been lucky enough to have met several of the early cachers, but Tangles is not one of them. Maybe one day.
A big thanks to The Arkaroo for undertaking maintenance when it was needed to keep this old cache in the game.
Visited a group of trackables getting ready for an Outback Australia trip.

Not at work today because I was on strike. So what better adventures than a bit of nearby geocaching with the geodog. Unfortunately I think I lost geodog's lead (red one) near this cache location on the way back. Beautiful spot, looked across Stanwell Park to this hill from Bald Hill many times. TFTC.

Returned to avenge my DNF of a few weeks ago.
This time, decided to take the 'high road', from the highway. The gate to the access road was locked so parked up at the Highway and biked it down (mostly) visiting Wodi Wodi, and Boom, a Good View on the way.
In the interim, I've checked with the cacher most knowledgeable of this cache (de facto CO in my mind) Arkaroo, who gave me a hint that narrowed the possibilities.
On applying the extra constraint at GZ, it occurred to me I've (1) been way too trusting of the Terrain and Difficulty ratings and (2) took the preposition in the hint too literally. Once I discarded those assumptions, the location of the cache became obvious, but still a challenge to get to. I'm just happy I had my bicycle with me! Smile
If the CO is about, I'd suggest adding at least one more attribute to this cache listing.
Took TB/Otto the Floatie as it has been stuck here for some time.
Thanks for the cache, errr, I think, Tangles. Smile

13-Aug-16
Today was a planned outing to the four caches along this section of the escarpment.
Decided to take the 'low road' from Lawrence Hargrave Drive. The 'official' carpark across from trailhead was chockers on this beautiful cool sunny weekend) so parked the car at S34° 14.066' E150° 59.121' and took a 'short cut' before joining the Wodi Wodi track and branching on to the Forest Walking track.

Reached GZ without a hitch. Then spent the next 30 minutes looking in/under/around/every-which-where GZ and the hinted object. But nothing. Not a great start to this series Sad
Seeing how the cache hasn't been found for 8 months, it could well be very well covered/buried under foliage and rubble.

Will have to return for this some time.
Next visit, I might take the 'high road' from Princes Hwy, it looks a nice (and quicker) cycle ride with much less altitude change.

Wow, they must have breed them tough in the old days - t2 only? Did a PAF to confirm where the cache had to be, and it was!

At a recent event Team Canary said he was lining up for an attempt at Tangles Train Spotting being a 2001 cache as he is closing in on all NSW 2001 active caches. We were keen to join in as like doing old school caches plus had heard of the Tangles stories even though he left the game before we joined. We wondered if there would be power for the blender or nude Swedish back packers frolicking about. While the lead up days had been very wet we still decided to try as it might be a while before we both could return. Team Canary had a tip on the route to take which we see us pick up some extra caches of which there was also a 2002 cache but before we headed there we tried to get to the parking waypoint for Divine ArmChair which has some very heavy gates on it and some unwelcoming signs. The detour did mean we were in the car when the rain hit again as opposed to being on the track. We headed to Gnome first and well and truly discovered the leeches or more to the point they have discovered us. The cache was soon found and the signing complete. TFTC. Next we followed the track out to Picnic on the Rocks and the leeches were still certainly in the picnic mode. We all missed the hide on the first pass, took in the great views but found it on the second. Signing done and we double back to head down to join the Woddi Woddi Track.towards the main target. TFTC. At this stage 2 of the part headed for Stanwell Station to avoid the leeches as it was only 200m away.
The track deteriorated a little with some wash outs, a rope decent a couple of water crossing and some up and downs plus a slip and slide. The trip up seemed to just keep going up and then moved further from GZ. At a listing of T2 they certainly had a different assessment back then. Once up top and taking in the views we followed the geo trail to GZ. A bit of monkey work was required and the cache was found (no power point of Swedish back packers spotted. A check of the log saw a continuing theme of no physical log from Jim&Marissa (see photo). Now with our names in the log and the major climb done we traversed the top of the cliff for other nearby 3 TFTC. Caved away was next with Team Canary doing the retrieval honours. More great views here TFTC. We then pushed on to Divine Armchair. We kept looking for a little track out to this one to avoid the heavy scrub bash and eventually found a lighter section of bush. This one took a little bit to find and another spot with great views. TFTC. It was only then a short way to Bush Garden. Initially we went too high and then we dropped the correct level and both closed in on the hide. With the signing done we took a different way out and back to our starting spot. Not as scenic but at least the elevation change was minimal. TFTC. Great trip to do with caching friends.

A while ago I put feelers out about doing these caches this week. I had a few interested parties, but only Bella at Waggy joined me and my two sons on the journey.

We parked at Stanwell Tops and had an extremely tough walk through he valley to this one. It featured creek crossings, slopes, rope descents, climbs, more climbs and leeches! I'm sure there was an easier way!?!

Then at GZ there was more adventure to be had. But soon we signed just after the invisible ink of Jim & Marissa!!!

A truly epic journey for a 2001 cache. Only four left and one 2000 in New South Wales for us!

TFTC.

In the mood for a good long walk today to begin our second year of caching. Parked at Stonehaven Rd in Stanwell Tops, then walked as far as Bush Garden, about 12 K in total, picking up four caches in total along the way.

A big thank you to the Arkaroo for getting this one going again, I've had my eye on it for a while but didnt hold out much hope for it. Too my surprise after planning to do this walk today I saw he had resurrected it! Nice work mate, and much appreciated.

As for the terrain rating, they bred 'em tougher in those days. Thankfully the darling wife made an elegant retrieval of the cache whilst I looked on in admiration.

A fun trek up from the bottom with geokid and friend. Not as tough trail as expected. Toughest part was retrieving the cache! Found the log to show Muppet95 had beat us here. Putting the cache back when Noodles arrived. TFTC

11-Jul-15
After soccer in the morning, I had to go to swap kids over with one who wanted to go for a treasure hunt (to play the ipad in the car!). Since the update on this one I thought it was time to finish off the Escarpment caches. I gave the option to the little one to do a long walk, or a big stair climb. The climb it was.
I missed the closest track at the hard to find train station, but found the next northern one which the Woddi Woddi track started at, and had a nice trek through mud, creek crossings and almost overgrown foliage.
At one point when we took a rest, I spotted three walkers on the track above us. I hoped they were just bush walkers, but once we made our way to GZ I saw one of them getting back from the cache. It was a race to claim the lonely 2 year cache, only to see that Muppet beat us to it, but had yet to log it online.
Thanks for the cache, and the replacement.

Heading from Helensburgh back down to Dapto to complete some unfound years.

Found a park along the main stretch, with lovely views from here.... its going to look better from up there!!

Walked up Wodi Wodi Track until the tracks split.
bit of gps mucking around and i finally went up and around.

Then we hit the lookout spots. Wow!

Quick bushbash to gz... then the fun began.
i was expecting something similar.

After a clove hitch and a bowline, i had my foot-up.

Took some happy snaps and happy days!!

The walk back down was just as pleasant. Headed out to the local trig ccc6 to sea what i could see.

Thanks for the cache Tangles + The Arkaroo

[green]Cache Maintenance[/red]

New cache container in original position! All good, folks, you can go and seek for this historic cache! It's a 1l systema, now, with only logbook and pen. As promised, we'll keep these old things, from the very beginning of geocaching running! Please remove the 'needs maintenance' tag, if you guys can (owner or reviewer).

By the way, if you think Caved Away is hard to reach, you may have difficultis with the present.

Today a perfect winter day! Went to coalcliff for winterswimming, but the Sea Eels were out in Bondi - so I thoght a better way to profit of the sunshine is to install the new container up on Mont St. Michel (or so?). Left my jumper in the car - just my aussie teeshirt - thar was warm enough to walk it up, all in one go. Four local muggles and a doggie at the lookout near the main path, but here all, was quiet to do the operation. Have had the exercise few tiomes, as afte installation, I though I take a picture! Quick look to my neighbor cache, then back here. GPS tack on the map is attached. At WP11, you start the walk, make it up to here GZ=WP09. My favorite path down is via the crest, where at WP10 you need to get down the ciffs, at sea side. tunning views, but half way down, after the meadow, you'll lose the track and follow roo path and bash the bush! TFTCM, Tangles, for this nice spot!

Well after a DNF from the legendary LegendaryActs I didn't think I'd have much luck. I thought I got to the right level where the cache is meant to be but didn't see anything. Never mind. Was heaps hoping to find an old tangles cache but I'll have to wait Smile

Not Found - looked in, around and about the hint but no luck. Found blue lid on ground adjacent - not sure if it was from the cache but reading previous logs it might be.

Definatly a higher rating but that will never happen as Tangles has dissappeared.
Found but the log was just laying on the ground along with the pen and had been for quite some time and the container was where it should be but the lid was all but destroyed.
Having read prior logs I came prepared but didn't know the hide was so open so the container while weather proof is not water tight.
Maybe the next to look can take a water tight container and replace mine.
Anyway had a new clip lock bag and put the old log back in as it was dry, put the pen back and a few swaps and put it back where it belongs.
Like all Tangles caches you just never know what you will get and it is always tough.

One of my other favorite spots, I checked the cache to press the Arkaroo's hanko into the log. Hmm, the log as been wet before, now it dried out, but some pages stick together. It may be still worth replacing the container - forgot, otherwise I would have helped out! It's getting dark right now, reminding me a hike in the Ecrins National Park, dark in snow at 2300m altitude, 20 years ago, or so. TFTCM again, enjoyed!

Found this one before we headed back down the hill. I searched all around, but after Daughter Ferris07 read the logs I knew what I had to do. So like superman I was up, up, up and away..... there you are. A successful retrieve sign and replace and we were on our way back home. Awesome spot and we spotted a couple of trains heading up the line.

Thanks Tangles but as others have said maybe its a bit higher terrain rating than a 2. All in all great spot and great cache. TFTC.

DNF Sad searched for 20mins with no luck, found the spot where we think this size cache may have been, we did see a huge camp fire not to far away and thought that this one my have been muggled by fire wood collectors...will add to watch list and see if a found comes up.

Found while down at the event, along with a few other cachers that were nice to meet. A lovely walk up and even saw two leeches. While ascending the mountain we caught up to an older muggle, who once we hit the steep section disappeared and was never seen again. While at the top the view was beautiful, and after signing the log walked to the point while the others signed it and saw just blue. The views were amazing and well worth the walk up. a lovely day spent in the bush and it was nice to share some stories with some new cachers. Smile

In Stanwell Park for The Rats 6000th celebration, took time out to head up the hill to Train Spotting with J&J.au, Webguy, Mrwhiskers76, iseeker-x, and Tally the geo-dog. As this area is a Conservation Area and not National Park, dogs are allowed, and, judging by Tally's enthusiasm, enjoy the walk here.

A warm walk up the hill, the cooling breeze at the top was a relief. We soon found GZ with a short search revealing the cache. A quick sign by all, a look at the view and then back down the hill again.
Nice one Tangles!
best wishes,
Wal

I'd say that this cache has probably been somewhere towards the top of my closest unfound cache from home for the best part of five years!

Anyway, today was the day. We loaded up the child carriers and off we went up the hill. Nice track, good gradient and some outstanding views. We popped up to Caved Away first then came back and started the search.

Surely not? Yes, that's where it must be- as someone recently mentioned what might have been a 2 terrain some years ago would probably be a 4 now!

The lid certainly is cactus but I hope this early cache stays alive.

Another Tangles cache down (not many left these days). Thanks!

The lid of the container has a long, circular crack, half round. It won't be waterproof any more and needs replacement. I placed the cache upside down, hole at the bottom, so that water flows out of the container.

Found It!

30.7.2006: Didn't find it The Arkaroo couldn't find 2.gif Train Spotting

This one was on my to-do list since 5 years! My 8th attempt for a cache ever - I found one more that time and then enjoyed a geocaching break lasting 4 years - exactly 1513 days without a find and without any attempt. Until I found 4x4 Pass in the stoneman we erected as well in 2006 - at our favorite camp site near Broken Hill.

Today, Train Spotting was the closest not found from home! Have been up here to this spot plenty of times - but without the intention to seek the cache. Today, RockSandra and I packed the expedition gear to come here on purpose. The winds were icy cold, from the west, and this hill is well exposed to sunshine, protected from the air flow by large trees. And the views! The views to the ocean were magnificent these days, the spray of the breaking surf taken back out to the seas.

After arriving, it was as if I searched for it just yesterday, pushing my face into the Doryanthes Excelsa. These are wonderful species up here. A little exercise - that's why we do it - and the cache was in my hands. Pretty sure, I looked into that spot 5 years ago and really wonder why I didn't find it!

Thanks for the wise hiding of a cache in a region, which is now protected by the Illawarra Escarpment Park - it would be extremely difficult to get it authorized today, in particular having the risks in mind one could encounter. Alone the creep of terrain rating - from a simple 2 in 2001 would be squeezed into the upper ranges nowadays. Oh, what the world is dangerous!

Of course, we have a little cylinder in the bag, not just visiting travel bugs but also to install a new cache in the vicinity - just outside the park area.

Nice walk from the highway via Bush Garden. Cruising along the escarpment provided views of... practically everything.

Apparently Tangles has a different rating system to mere humans... that was *not* a 2.5 difficulty retrieval. Ropes, harnesses, maybe a ladder, would all be useful. After a lot of huffing and puffing, The Snooty Fox got into grasping range of the cache and the log was signed. Getting back again, though, was a whole other adventure...

The walk and views were great, though. TFTC.

This cache was the main goal of our caching day and the views from the nearby cliff are just awesome!
We walked a few kilometres from the old highway and it was really worth the effort. The walking trail was in very good condition for this part for the walk and it is always a joy walking through the native Australian bushland.
Arrived at GZ and thought WWTD? (What would Tangles do?) and spend a few minutes looking in the less likely places before returning to the first thought and had the cache in hand shortly thereafter. Awesome cache. *recommended*

Looking for a bit of a challenge, Damo and I decided to attempt this cache. When coupled with the nearby Rock Garden cache it is an enjoyable walk that reminds me of what I most like about geocaching. Similar to a lot of the early geocaches I did around Canberra in when I started. Took many pictures and awesome views. *recommended*

We took the 6km option and had a super walk here picking up 3 other caches on the way. We got to GZ and knew exactly where the cache would be, being a Tangles one!
Great location, and a super hide.
TNLN, thanks,

After doing Bush Garden rode the MTB towards the cache. Amazing when you get the cache, the view just opens up. Cache located easily, a bit of a bugger to get to, MTB came in handy. TNSLLN

Found while out for a MTB ride with some mates, They don't like to give me much stopping time to look for caches, But seem as though we had just carried the bikes up from Stanwell Park they were happy for the rest. Thanks

Its a shame not that many people take the effort to get up here! I took the way in from the top, wich is a beautiful walk along the edge of the escarpment!
Had to look for a while because I started to search more simple a while ago, half a year ago this would have been the first spot I would have looked!

Was walking with the family today to this great lookout so thought I should drop in a TB collected recently from Taree. The logs read as if there should have been other coins and TB but the inventory matches the cache in that there wasn't much in there at all. Another beautiful day to do this walk. Met a group that had walked through from Darkes Forest which would pass 4 or 5 caches these days and I will do it sometime.

Took the shortish way to this one, but not straight up the escarpement. A beautiful day for caching, and this one has been on my must do list for far too long; I have been intrigued with this area for some reason which I have been unable to fathom (maybe it was the lure of my first Tangles cache).

Anyhow, having severely tested my almost nonexistant fitness, we were almost there when we came across a bunch of motorbikers throwing boulders from the top. I politely explained that, having been beneath that position very recently, and having passed several other groups on the track, it was probably not a good idea to do so. Fortunately for them they departed soon after, probably worried that I might stage a repeat of Thelma & Louise using them as cast members and their bikes as props.

Now having the area to myself, A short rest was in order before beginning the cache hunt - fortunately this didn't last too long, did the cache stuff then departed. Oh yes, the view was much appreciated too. Thanks Tangles, this is definitely one of or favourites.

We are very glad to have the opportunity to finally cross this one off our list of to-dos. Not knowing how to get there was the biggest part of the problem. After talking to a person who does a bit of riding in the area we decided to research the area more thoroughly and approach the cache by bike.
The ride we found most enjoyable but very difficult in places with the track very overgrown in parts. The weather started out fine but turned to a very welcome light rainfall just in time to cool us off for our journey back out.
This has got to be one of our most favourite caches to date and nearly had us stumped for a while but thinking outside the square paid off in the end.
Left a TB & a Coin for the next lucky finders.
Our many thanks to you Tangles for giving us a reason to have this adventure.

Pi didn't find it.

So after walking the 6k's along the Escarpment track I was a bit disappointed to DNF this one...Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes.

This is a great little walk with exceptional vistas. We started out in pretty bad weather but this soon cleared to a spectacular day for walking. My inability to find the cache was more than compensated for by the profusion of wildflowers, Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoos and stunning vistas along the way.

Sitting here now and reading the older logs I am sure that I ate my lunch sitting right next to the cache. Just have to head back this way and try again (I think I will do this on the mtb next time).

TFTCA (thanks for the cache attempt),

What a great hidding spot.. We were a bit lost at first but it didn't take us long to work it out.. I also forgot to look up what the clue ment in plain english?
Bushy2233 nearly stood on a very friendly Blue Tounge Lizard laying in the middle of the path.. We rode the GeoMountain Bikes in across the top of the escarpment, I've been here many times before and the cache was only a few metres away and I didn't even know it..
Thanks

Returned again from the East and found the cache where I expected it to be - thankfully. Not looking hard enough last time was an understatement! It was another beautiful day for a walk with great views, lots of birds around and enjoyable walking. Have dropped off the TB I've had for ages so hope someone will come by and pick him up for another adventure. TFTC.

Have had an adventurous Figure8 TB for sometime now and keen to go for a bit of a walk. This cache sounded like a good solution to both. Planned a route from the NW but was put off by a barrier of private property so opted for the climb from the E. The track was in better condition than I expected and some help from a local resident directed me to the gate. It was a great walk with about a dozen para gliders hanging above Bald Hill on a cool and clear afternoon. No trouble getting to GZ but didn't have any partners with me to help find the cache. The hint confirmed that I was in the right place (after calling home for a translation) but after returning home and reading past logs for more clues, I now suspect that it was in the first place I looked but I didn't look hard enough. Oh well, I'll just have to do the walk again and maybe come from the W. Thanks for the exercise and the views.

Mr & Mrs Rumplestiltskin went for a walk after work. We went the "hard" way, up the ridge. WOuld have done it a lot quicker if Mrs didn't spend the whole time on the phone... What a top spot! I haven't been up here before but have often looked and wondered. Made the find very quickly, it was exactly where I would have put it Smile Nothing in, nothing out. Thanks Tangles for showing us such a top spot.

Went looking for this one last week without a GPS. A dumb move. Spent most of my time looking 250m away from where the cache actually was. Went back up with Gazma and Daaave. Started to rain we were going to leave when we were given a hint.

Thanks Tangles!.
TWas an excellent walk up there, however I looked in the actual hiding spot twice without finding anything. As we were deciding to leave, I thought it nesessary to go for the phone a friend option because we thought it had been muggled due to the number of beer bottles lying around. Turns out it had been in the spot i had looked all along, i just didn't look hard enough.
Cheers,
Daaave
