We ended our vacation back in Las Vegas and spent our time today on the north end of the strip. We probably wouldn't have found this location if not for our focus on finding virtual caches while in the area. Email with answers is on the way. Thanks for bringing us to this location and for keeping this virtual going!
PumpkinEve and I attempted this cache, but we were unaware that it would be closed on a Sunday. As such, we couldn't get to the appropriate dispray of information. Uploaded is a photo of us at the perimeter of the site and hopefully the CO will let us have a pity smiley.

#2649 - Attempting Qty (15) virtual caches in a day to fulfill a Challenge cache back home in Northern VA. This was my 13th virtual for the day. Easy parking. Wow, what a cool area!!! Park admission is now only $1. I searched and searched inside the museum before asking the Park Ranger who pointed me in the right direction. I love how this location has been so nicely preserved! TFTVC!! Email with answer(s) en route...

Since I only brought $300 with me to gamble in this fine town, I needed something else to do to fill my time. Geocaching the strip seemed like the logical thing to do.
Today's trip was northbound on the strip. I started out at the Cosmopolitan and kept walking until I got to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum. It was super windy out and a little colder than I would have liked, but I had a great time.
I got to see all to the glitz and glamour and the not so pretty side of Vegas as well, I eventually walked until I could see the pretty again. It's easy to forget that you are surrounded by mountains when you are on the strip.
A few highlights include:
Starting out at seven in the morning you get to see a different group of people on the street. They do a fantastic job of cleaning up the mess that the people leave every night.
A homeless guy sleeping in an elevator.
I tried to visit the top of the stratosphere, but all the rides were closed because of the high winds. Bummer!
I stopped in at an overly priced famous pawn shop. No one even semi famous was present.
I ate lunch at the Heart Attack Grill, where my 340 pounds got me nothing for free. I did have the best strawberry shake I have ever had though.
I peered in at some old neon signs, but I'd just missed the next tour and it was almost an hour wait until the next. I can do a lot of caching in that time.
I wandered around the Natural History museum and saw some very neat displays and got to speak with a curator there that is also a geocacher.
I ended up walking 25,000 plus steps on my little journey today. I was pretty tired and since I'd done all the caches between my hotel and the museum I decided to take a cab ride back to the hotel. $35 later I was taking a nap and getting ready for this evening fun.

queenofscots and I In the southwest to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with the family. After spending the week in San Diego with the family, yesterday we headed to Las Vegas for adult fun (geocaching)..
Today we decided to do caches in the area with at least 50 favorite points and challenge caches.
Thanks to Pharmacache for placing and maintaining this cache.
Caching should be fun.
Exploring the world one cache at a time.

My other half and I visited this site while out in Vegas for Thanksgiving.what a cool little place and admission is now just $1! Thanks for the history lesson.
2Moore, MaryP53, Audie3496 and I stopped in and paid our $1.00 each to get in. I guess their prices have gone down since this virtual was placed. Either that or we got the old lady discount. We enjoyed this location. It tied in with another virtual cache that we had found earlier. It was nice to explore around the grounds. I sent our answers through GC messaging. Thanks for showing us the place with a virtual cache.
I was out on a cache run with Shelle518, 2Moore and Audie3976. I love learning about the past. Very cool fort and history here. Thanks for the cache.
Very cool history and a spot we would have never visited if not for geocaching. I explored the area with Shelle518, Maryp53 and Audie. Thanks for the cache.
Enjoyed visiting this fort! Will send email with answers tonight! Thanks for bringing us here!
Having a great time in Vegas, and gathering a few smilies along the way. Thanks for the Virtual. Interesting location, and the $1.00 entry was quite reasonable. Favorite Point for sure. E-mail send with answers. TFTC!
On a quick 11 day trip from Melbourne, Australia to Las Vegas, Nevada to support and watch my sister compete at the Natural Olympia event this week.
We arrived about 2 hours early for our Neon Museum tour so what better way to kill some time than Geocaching!!
After just completing Mr Dinosaur around the corner decided to do this one too.
Interesting place steeped with history. Thanks for bringing me here, don't think I would have known about it otherwise

Together with ErikSi I made a 12-days trip around the USA, starting in Los Angeles on 11/7.
From L.A. we drove around 12 days (and nights), made over 6500 miles (10,500 km), found a lot of remarkable caches and saw beautiful places.
At first we drove to Tucson and Mexico, then to Denver, Salt Lake City, Mountain Home, Las Vegas, San Francisco and finally back to Los Angeles.
Thanks to all owners who made that trip possible.
We found hundreds of Challenge Caches. My statistics are hidden, but there is a folder with proofs for the Fizzy Challenge as well as the date and month challenges and all other easy challenges. Folder
I'll try to load up pictures for all difficult challenges, too.
If there is something wrong with a condition please conact me bevor deleting the log.
I hope I can come back next near, it´s a really great country with a lot of even greater caches.

Actually, the highlight for November had already been found: Caching in BRNO.
Together with Trebbi we roamed CZ on several glorious days.
It was there that the question arose: Do you want to come with me to the USA? Departure next Saturday.
Wow - that was a minor organisational feat, but I was ready for the adventure.
So I didn’t have to think much about it; of course I said yes.
We took the same flight there, but my return flight was a little earlier and via Moscow.
It will still take weeks until all impressions will have registered.
We can safely state that we have enjoyed - or suffered - to the full every scenery and every weather in the southwest of the USA. Especially the blizzards and the highway patrols bore down on us.
Many excursions and trips were made spontaneously at the cost of our sleeping time. Never before had I spent two weeks with less sleep!
The things seen can hardly be assimilated. Whether it be the crass contrasts of the scenery, the endless roads (after all we covered 10,500 km during our trip), the brilliant cache series or the spectacles of nature we visited.
and...
and...
The caches we found are incredible in every respect: age, kind, D/T and whatever else the statistician's heart desires.
It was not easy, but we managed to resist the call of the big rounds of traditional caches.
Result: Supercool!
If it was not so far away from home, one could lay their homezone there.

We visited this fort many times when we lived in Las Vegas from 1986 to 2003, but it has sure changed since then! The new museum is VERY nice. The fort and the "house" (which a friend of ours lived in as a little girl) hadn't changed. Nice to see all the upgrades and the preservation efforts. Thanks for a reason to revisit! E-mail sent.

Staying in Las Vegas for a few days and caching around the city while we are here as well has seeing some of the sights
Logged as "SAM" which is a team of three Sol De Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax. Visiting the US as a team for the 2nd time, our mission to complete the ET series but before and after do some more exploring and geocaching along the way. Our tour starts around Barstow and a few days in Las Vegas before caching over to 29 Palms before hitting the ET Highway straying at Rachel and Tonapah.
Our second stage of our trip saw us doing a loop around Wyoming, Nebraska, Sth & Nth Dakota and Montana before finishing back in Los Angles, our finds for the trip totalled well over 4,000 geocaches.

US14 ET Highway Trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. Day 8. We decided to spend the day getting as many of the Las Vegas Virtual's that we have not had a chance to do before. All but one went smoothly. e-mails have been sent to the owners by Sol de Lune, so if there are any issues, please refer to them. A very helpful ranger aided us here as we were a bit early for opening time. Thanks.

Clan Gunnie and I dropped in very quickly as we shuffled across from another nearby virtual cache. We were heading South to Mandalay Bay, but ended up here. You know how it goes...
I whizzed out and looked for the answers while the others waited patiently in the car. The lovely lady on the counter let me in for free as I explained I was in a hurry and needed some clues for a raleigh I was involved with... [^]
I got some answer but came across some confusion. There was a potential conflict... [?] I emailed my answers to the cache owner and await a response.
Interesting spot and excellent to see that is has been kept as a historical sight. In my haste, I left the camera in the car so no pics of this site. That's a shame as there are some cool displays set up throughout the venue.
Cheers Pharmacache.
