GoodLook and I were in the USA from Australia with our primary purpose to attend the GPS Adventure Maze and GeoWoodstock XVII in Fort Worth Texas, but then our plans expanded....
Whilst in the US I attended the ASP Geobash Mega in NY State; visited family friends near Detroit; went on a long road trip where we checked out Death Valley in California, and unique sights in Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas to name just a few of the states.
The scenery, towns and adventures were both interesting and varied. It was great catching up with US and Canadian friends (new and old), and making plans for future trips.
We certainly targeted virtuals, earth caches, Adventure Labs, events and several trails. Your virtual being one on our 'must do list'.
Thanks for keeping the virtual alive!

We are visiting from Bendigo in Victoria Australia. We have arrived in San Francisco prior to leaving on a tour and while its not all about caching we are hoping to pick up a few along the way.
Virtuals are certainly the best way to cache when you are on a tour. We eneteretained ourselves for quite a while imitating the characters.

It looks like the place is closed, and the plaque is gone. But the Thunderbirds are still on the wall.
Out exploring the area north of "the strip" today on our last vacation day in Vegas. We focused on the rarer cache types and stopped here to grab the needed info for this one. Email with the required info has been sent. Thanks for bringing us here and for keeping this virtual going!
Like others, I was disappointed to find the building and monument in a poor state, but the mural is still well worth a look. Selfie attached as evidence of visit. TFTVC.

#2650 - Attempting Qty (15) virtual caches in a day to fulfill a Challenge cache back home in Northern VA. This was my 14th virtual for the day. I ended up parking across the street at Arby's. Upon walking to GZ, I knew something wasn't quite right since there were homeless people camped out and sleeping at that location. The memorial appeared to be vandalized but when trying to peek through the glass windows, it appears this location has moved. The mural is still there where I took the photo. TFTVC!! Email with answer(s) en route...

queenofscots and I In the southwest to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with the family. After spending the week in San Diego with the family, yesterday we headed to Las Vegas for adult fun (geocaching)..
Today we decided to do caches in the area with at least 50 favorite points and challenge caches.
As noted the plaque is missing, but I took a picture of the mural to show that I have been there.
Thanks to BlackWolf21 for placing and maintaining this cache.
Caching should be fun.
Exploring the world one cache at a time.

2Moore, maryP53, Audie and I made our way to GZ and saw the mural. The plaques are gone but the beauty is still there. Thanks for the virtual cache.
I was out on a cache run with Shelle518, 2Moore and Audie3976. The plaques are gone but the mural to honor the men is still there. Thanks for the cache.
I hate that the plaques have been damaged but the mural is still there for us to see and remember. Thanks for the cache.
Having a great time in Vegas, and gathering a few smilies along the way. Thanks for the Virtual. Favorite Point for sure. Unfortunately, the plaques are gone, but the murals on the wall still exist. Sending picture via e-mail to confirm we were there today. TFTC!

Together with ErikSi I made a 12-days trip around the USA, starting in Los Angeles on 11/7.
From L.A. we drove around 12 days (and nights), made over 6500 miles (10,500 km), found a lot of remarkable caches and saw beautiful places.
At first we drove to Tucson and Mexico, then to Denver, Salt Lake City, Mountain Home, Las Vegas, San Francisco and finally back to Los Angeles.
Thanks to all owners who made that trip possible.
We found hundreds of Challenge Caches. My statistics are hidden, but there is a folder with proofs for the Fizzy Challenge as well as the date and month challenges and all other easy challenges. Folder
I'll try to load up pictures for all difficult challenges, too.
If there is something wrong with a condition please conact me bevor deleting the log.
I hope I can come back next near, it´s a really great country with a lot of even greater caches.

Actually, the highlight for November had already been found: Caching in BRNO.
Together with Trebbi we roamed CZ on several glorious days.
It was there that the question arose: Do you want to come with me to the USA? Departure next Saturday.
Wow - that was a minor organisational feat, but I was ready for the adventure.
So I didn’t have to think much about it; of course I said yes.
We took the same flight there, but my return flight was a little earlier and via Moscow.
It will still take weeks until all impressions will have registered.
We can safely state that we have enjoyed - or suffered - to the full every scenery and every weather in the southwest of the USA. Especially the blizzards and the highway patrols bore down on us.
Many excursions and trips were made spontaneously at the cost of our sleeping time. Never before had I spent two weeks with less sleep!
The things seen can hardly be assimilated. Whether it be the crass contrasts of the scenery, the endless roads (after all we covered 10,500 km during our trip), the brilliant cache series or the spectacles of nature we visited.
and...
and...
The caches we found are incredible in every respect: age, kind, D/T and whatever else the statistician's heart desires.
It was not easy, but we managed to resist the call of the big rounds of traditional caches.
Result: Supercool!
If it was not so far away from home, one could lay their homezone there.

We lived in Las Vegas for 17 years. Moved to Salt Lake City 12 years ago. Hubby retired from the Air Force at Nellis. All four of our sons were in the Air Force ROTC at nearby Rancho High School. Maybe they knew about this mural, but we'd never seen it! Even having been here all that time! At one time we lived fairly close to the base, and when we heard planes flying directly over our house, we knew the Thunderbirds were out, as they were the only ones who ever flew that flight pattern. It was fun to watch them practice! We were sorry to see the damage to the monument, but loved that the mural has been untouched. One of the best things about geocaching is the great places it takes you to, and this certainly is one of those. THANKS!!
As an Air Force Brat I was privileged to see the Thunderbirds perform many times as a kid. Once I earned my pilot's license I had so much more appreciation for their skills.
Unfortunately this area appears to be abandoned and the plaque is gone. See picture attached.

The memorial is gone, nothing is there, except an empty box... therefore a photo of the site...

another virtual with SDL and Albida should have sent answers for the team already,
Staying in Las Vegas for a few days and caching around the city while we are here as well has seeing some of the sights
Logged as "SAM" which is a team of three Sol De Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax. Visiting the US as a team for the 2nd time, our mission to complete the ET series but before and after do some more exploring and geocaching along the way. Our tour starts around Barstow and a few days in Las Vegas before caching over to 29 Palms before hitting the ET Highway straying at Rachel and Tonapah.
Our second stage of our trip saw us doing a loop around Wyoming, Nebraska, Sth & Nth Dakota and Montana before finishing back in Los Angles, our finds for the trip totalled well over 4,000 geocaches.
