Managed to get up for a look and the cache has definitely gone.. We've been miggled again!!!!! Sorry about that.
3rd cache of our first day. Bumped into a 2nd group also looking for 'Our Quarry' Neither of us had any luck, found what looked like the spot but no cache! Perhaps its been spoiled?
We were on a high cache weekend but couldnt find this one even with 4 pairs of eyes.
After a DNF at quarry queerie we needed this but no.

Nice walk up the track with a great view over the quarry. Log book is getting mould on it. TNLN Thanks.
4pm. #12 of day one of Chch week. Interesting spot, made very presentable for public access. Thanks for bringing us here.
Found the cache, and topped it up. Log book damp

Ciotach and sp00k went out today and checked this. We dried it out a little although the logbook is still a bit damp. Replaced the silica gels and put in a new plastic bag but forgot to take any goodies for the cache so there is only a notebook, pencil and sharpener in there now.
Found it, but had to cope with heavy breathing, as a four legged muggle decided to be super friendly. This cache log is falling to pieces due to being super damp. Thanks for bringing us to this interesting area. Next time will bring the proper climbing gear!!
Well - this time was very quick. Although it looks like it has been muggled, so wasn't well hidden. TNLN. Coords are definitely too far off the path.
The cache is soaked, there's nothing there but the wet book and a pencil, which is split and broken. We tried to hide it a bit better than it was.
Easy to find the co-ordinates were spot on! Very first cache, we are virgins no more! Decided to go look for it at 10.30pm, yes at night TNLN
Found this at 6.20pm on a beautiful Canterbury afternoon. Didn't realise it was so nice here, will come again and look around more. Found easily and GPS was spot on.

Lovely find on a Sunday morning. Thanks, we enjoyed the walk. Managed to dodge the worst of the rain on the way back to the car. Took magnet, left Sylvester. Long-John
Out on our bikes with Mini Mac. Not too hard to find once we settled down to it. Realised the fence mentioned probably isn't there anymore.
A nice walk in the quarry and an easy find. Thanks for reinstating it.

After 2 DNF's we decided to check this cache out... We've been muggled!!!!!!! Sooooo we have reinstalled the cache, now in a green painted 250 ml container so not a lot of room but we left a Travel bug there.... Smiling Eight II

Thought this might take a while to find, but then...there it was. Great spot. Took travel bug Jeep, shoe magnet and circle puzzle. Left rubber and jumping bean. TFTC. Lovely night for it too. Linleye.
Found at 9am, Gee, you have to log these finds quickly these days. I only found it yesterday but there are already three more logs! Great to see all the caching activity in Christchurch. In Ireland recently and things were much quieter. Anyway, nice hide, found about 9am after a relatively short search.

My second log on, this time selecting 'found it'. I searched quite a while before finding this one. TNLN
Second time I have failed to find this one. I left with the thought 'second time lucky' in mind.
We were on our way to Cass Bay with the Busbridge family to do some kayaking, and thought we'd introduce them to the joys of geocaching! Found this one after scraping around in the pine needles and overturning a lot of rocks. Looked like someone had been there before us as the area looked a bit "disturbed". We found the cache just at the point of giving up. TNLN. Great cache.
This was a bout the 4th time I have searched for this cache and finally got it (with a bit of help from Conton).
TNLN
Thanks for the cache

This one had us hunting around a bit, but we found it in the end. It was actually our 40th find, but I've now entered everything up out of order. Oops!

The cache is still alive and well! Took a little bit of searching, but in the end, the GPS was consistently ~1 off - that's perfect in my books! I must admit it was very well hidden. Great location - really enjoyed the visit
A DNF during an pleasant afternoons caching with brother Steve of SSARC. It all looked different to when I found it quite easily 18 months ago with my GPS 12 & compass bearings. Thanks anyway - Tony
No luck, lots of rocks were overturned. Kiwitonita was with me and he had found the cache before- he beleives the cache has gone missing.
I would recommend it be archived until it can be checked by the owners.
Nice park- Aloha

Found this one late afternoon on an Easter Monday - with muggles galore enjoying the picnic ground nearby. But no problems, as the location gave just that little bit of secrecy - perched between unknowing crowds. I think future cache hunters need to be careful to hide the cache again in a similar fashion to how they find it, and not leave their footprints behind. I'd been to look for the Aloha cache - no luck, as my brain was obviously not into gear. This one was easier - and I've just hidden another cache not too far away. No swaps. Cheers, Grandalf.
Third contact with Riddlers76. Again they found it, I didn't. Methinks they are rehiding them a litle too enthusiastically. [B)] If there isn't a teeny little bit of the box visible in some surroundings there isn't a chance to spot them. Saw the bunny though.
Took a little bit of scambling to get to this one, thanks to the GPS accuracy (and some human error at first). Took the yellow spider that has been in the cache since the beginning, left a pink yoyo. This place has lots of family history for Stephen. A nice area, we even saw a bunny.
nice morning for a walk. took all of 10 min to find + bateries - coins

Started with a rush and a roar straight up the wrong side of the quarry, had to back track and start again. Found cache with not much difficulty, sheer luck, probably.

Heh heh, under rocks and pine needles - riiiight Found this one after a good 10 minutes checking under ALL the rocks and pine needles. Enjoyed it on a lovely sunny day still abuzz from finding its neighbour "Aloha, Sonny". TFTC.

My first ever cache! Also the first visit to this cache for 2005! Cache was well hidden but not too difficult to find. +/- nothing.
Alright gsv here it is....looked but found only the grave of a deceased possum. Ran out of time and the wind was blowing hard and cold. Very intimidating all those rocks and pine needles. Still a nice spot and this one will wait for my next visit.
Thanks

Whew! This was a hard find. Under rocks and pine needles you say...
Eventually we had to sit back and think like a geocacher and 5 mins later we had the cache in our hands.
No swaps, but thanks for the challenging find!

Had no trouble in finding it. Took my class of trainees to show them how it was done.
They were impressed.
Swopped 1 x butterfly for a silver braclet
Left 2 x AA batteries (new)
Great one.
ps. I have covered it up a bit more as it was not very well covered.

Went with lyricnz & shorty (8 yrs). Finally worked out how to get to the area after 2 attempts & standing on a rabbit (it was very well hidden) but gave up after turning over what must have been a million rocks.
Will be attempting this one again soon.
Will be attempting this one again soon.
Spent about 30 minutes hunting - started to rain and thought it'd be a good idea to head back to the car - I think I needed another pair of eyes. I'll return with reinforcements soon!!!
Re-visited this one, in the light this time (and read the clue properly). Very nice walk.
Thanks

BuckoBoys #1 & 2 went out in the rain and cold soon after receiving the GPS in the post. Our first ever hunt was successful. Found after 25 minutes after parking. Great place to hide and yes, when you see one rock, it does start to look like many others! All rocks placed in same places!

Decided to try this one in the dark, with a below average flashlight.........Needless to say, I will be return during the day next weekend.
A raw afternoon, few picnicers, and more time (plus a bit of encouragement from Trinitty) paid off! Juist goes to prove that 'all stones are equal, but some are more equal tthan others'. Took soap, left kiwi painter and butterfly. Thanks for the challenge. Rod M
OK, I have now read the logs, and see that I'm not alone in missing the cache. Will have to go back mid week when it is not as populated. And I'll try thinking more like a cacher. Rod M
I just checked this cache today and it is exactly where it is supposed to be. Only trouble is it looks like a battlefield up there right now with rocks tossed all over the place. Please replace the rocks as you found them when you have looked under. I will go back this weekend and tidy up, it was near dark and raining this evening.
Four of us hunted for over half an hour, we must have turned over every rock, and still couldn't find the cache. Where can we get more clues?
Nice park, will definitely return for a picnic in summer.
Nice park, will definitely return for a picnic in summer.
Had to come back again today and do this one as we could not find it yesterday. + golf ball, took nothing. Good cache - took us another ten minutes today. Will visit this park again.
Spent about 20 minutes in the rain looking for this one, then gave up as we were late for a lunch date. Have since rung Moneydork for additional clues, and will return. Lovely spot, enjoyed the walk as did the dogs, rain and all.
After enjoying a picnic at this Quarry, we climbed the hill to find this cache. Was right where it should be. I was supported by Sallies, who are introducing me to this new lifestyle. Thank you for providing this opportunity for us. Added coins, removed a bracelet.
Accompanied by Ciotach (minus Sp00k) this was 4th cache for this afternoon before heading back to Chch. Took me approx 30 mins or more to find it! First we went to the wrong track and was hoping it will take me to the cache. I was wrong and went back to the start point and went another track. My GPSr was telling me it is still wrong (Ciotach tagged me and no help from her!). Decided to try another track. Jackpot! Ahhh, other problem was that there were so many rocks scattered all over - which one to unturn to find the cache! Ciotach sat and watched me doing it (she must have laughed at me secretly and kept her neutral face). Finally found it. Took a turtle and left a silver coin. It was quite a good challenge plus walking excercise. Thanks
It was interesting watching someone else trying to find our cache, and being led along a track I hadn't seen before! All seemed to be in order and the cache is still in the right place.
Took the dogs to the park for a run around. Went in search of the treasure. While pondering which rocks to start looking under the Spaniel started sniffing around a rock. That gave the game away. So it is Elijah's find! It is a very very windy day here but still enjoyed the walk around the Quarry.

My very first cache in NZ - I received my GPS unit by mail at 2pm, and was out hunting by 7pm ! Found it after (unnecessarily) climbing a couple of fences and poking around among the rocks and needles. The log book has only one empty page left.

By the size of the hole, there must've been quite a few buildings made out of stone quarried here!
A pleasant spot, without too many people on this fine but brisk October afternoon, and a classic "where would I hide if _I_ were a cache" find by Mama Bear.
No swaps.
Great day to be out and about, found the cache straight away, very nice place to walk around and relax but.

Many thanks for a superb site!! We walked around the quarry on this sunny day and learnt a lot about the history - it's certainly a well maintained and well used reserve. Finding the cache was dead easy after careful compass bearings from the end car park. Took the ruler and left a Cancer Society daffodil pen.

What a lovely day to be out. Headed over to the quarry and had a hunt for the cache. Took the wrong path to start with, and after 15 minutes of looking determined that I did need to be on the other side of the fence! Looped around and found the cache pretty quickly. Lovely spot and view from there! No exchange made. Cheers Gav [151]
Great place! Quite busy on this beautiful winter's day. Visiting from Wellington so nice to be directed to such a lovely spot. No probs finding the cache once we got on the right side of the quarry!
Took the wall crawler and left something (can't remember what though!)

I am sure we looked there! Oh well, this time round we did not have much problem finding it - initially I was a little distracted by the other newly covered spot what we thought would be perfect last time we visited. Eventually I turned round and noticed the cache.
Added a Party popper and removed the Kiwi.

We checked the cache this morning - it's still there intact, but rather too well hidden directly under an enormous rock - have made it a little more accessible.
Also placed our second travel bug, 'Circumforaneous Kiwi', who would like to be assisted on his way to ChrisX24 in Rochester, USA. Circumforaneous would prefer NOT to travel with his buddy the Flying Lambchop.

Whipped out here after work. Note access to this cache would be hampered by a locked gate after 7pm. No exchange made (I think). Got caught napping on this one, so not first by 1 day. Thanks guys.
It's a lovely day today. Good to be the first to visit (there seems to be a race on here in Christchurch to be 1st visitor). Excellent coordinates. Found under the 2nd rock I looked. - Water pistol (Hey, sp00k it WAS loaded!). + 'Freezer' Batman toy. Thanks sp00k & citach.
