Manda and her eagle eyes were straight on this one despite how well cammed and concealed it was - took her less than a minute to find something that didn’t belong
Tassie expat and I spent a bit finding this one and it was well cammo'd. Thanks for placing it.
What an interesting area. Glad that frmen1 decided to do a u-turn 100m up the road to explore the place. Such an interesting part of history that we were not taught at school. We did go round and round a few times. TFTC
Wonder what the Chinese immigrants thought after leaving Hong Kong and landing here, countryside is a bit tough here. TFTC Hurtle.

late log. Just got GSAK " talking " to my lap top again. My GPS tells me i forgot to log this cache and another from my last trip down to the SE of the state, about 4 weeks ago.
Found during a camping trip to the Coorong and the Southeast areas with brisal5 and I in one vehicle, and e.gregory and friend in the other. We travelled around the Narrung Peninsula and down the Coorong where we spent the first night camped out at Tea Tree Crossing. Enjoyed some challenging driving and eventful cache finds, wandering bush tracks and strenuous sand dune climbs in very scenic areas. The second night saw us camp out in Little Dip before meandering the country roads in search of an assortment of Traditional, Earth, Multi and Puzzle caches further down the coast before heading back home via Lucindale, Padthaway and Keith. Great to see these old caches being adopted and maintained to keep their history going. Thanks for the cache Barry, Beryl and Hurtle!
We've escaped Victoria for a few weeks holiday in SA.
Having a wonderful time in the more Covid Safe SA and enjoying the increased freedoms you have here.
Today's mission was to drive from Adelaide to Mt Gambier where we will be staying for five nights.
We decided to take the scenic route down past the Coorong National Park.
To break up the drive we are following as many Brown Tourist signs as we have time for.
Amazing historical area. Thanks for the cache Barry and Beryl and for keeping it going Hurtle.

Quickly seen but took a while to find a way into it, all clips on box are broken and the container is naked -- no camo!

Happy 6th day of Christmas! Avoid germs - avoid people - cache the countryside!!!
All logs stamped by team Mattycat this week include JacktheMonkey and Purrfect Di.
read many books about the gold rush in Victoria and new that the Chinese would come across the country from South Australia to avoid I think it was a 10 pound fee to enter what a long way to walk thanks for bringing me here
A nice crispy morning on day 5 with a big day ahead. Today we finished a long long trail and then made our way from Meningie to Millicent. Thanks to all CO's for places these great caches.

Tea Tree Crossing was still too high to cross today so we decided to do a bit more exploring. This was an interesting spot to stop. The original log book was fun to look through and it still has the original camo.
I came out of the find here with a few scratches and I had one very scared mouse escape from the cache cover. I filled another spot in my D /T matrix too. I’ve been following the Chinese miners from Ballarat to Robe and enjoyed visiting here. TFTC
Mr Tardis stopped here on the way home from the Southeast.
I found the cache after a short search. A nice area, but it was a little hot this afternoon.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Barry and Beryl and Hurtle.

Today was my final day around Mount Gambier and then on to driving back home to Adelaide. Following a couple of cave dives at the Pines, I still had half a day to head back, and so stopped off at quite a few geocaches that I had on my target list along the Coorong road. I managed to stop off to complete the other half of the Millicent SFE series, some more caches around Millicent, and then a few oldie geocaches at various stops within the Coorong and Policeman's Point.
Another oldie along this Coorong road that I had driven past multiple times, but had put off this little side route. I managed to visit the actual well along the road, and was a nice walk in. On the return, I stopped off near GZ, and after doing a loop around GZ, the geocache was found. Some interesting camouflage, that also looks like rubbish, but could have only been the geocache. It was nice to have found this nice 03/2003 oldie. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Barry and Beryl for the cache placement, and to Hurtle for its ongoing maintenance.

I’ve driven past here so many times without ever visiting. Geocaching has now given me a reason to get off the main roads and visit some interesting places. This is certainly one of those. Really interesting to see how resourceful settlers were in meeting their needs out of locally available resources. I learned stuff.
The cache was easily found with a nice themed touch. Made a minor swap and signed the log.
Found with JayG10 and fluffymaxi.
Find #500 for me and filled a gap on both the Fizzy and Jasmer grids. (D/T 1/3.5 isn’t that common in the metro area).
TFTC and especially for maintaining this old cache Hurtle.

On a caching road trip from Brisbane to the Mega in Queanbeyan at Easter, with a slight detour via South Australia and Victoria to snaffle some of the southern caches along the way.
Have been along the Coorong about 8 years ago (before caching) and it was a cold and miserable day back then so didn't go down any of the side roads. Today was sunny and pleasant so zigzagged in and out of a few side trails picking up a few caches. Came in here and made a quick find of the cache before wandering along the boardwalk to have a look at the wells.
I think the wells would have been very important to the Chinese as a lot of them overlanded from South Australia to the Victorian goldfields to avoid paying a hefty landing tax imposed upon them in Victoria.

09:10 nice sized cache. Logbook dry, pens working. Some squarish droppings around the area - perhaps there's a wombat cache guardian nearby. Took nothing, left key.
Stopped by on way past...
All good, except one clip has come off. Container is fine, still has contents in good nick with the #2 logbook dating back to 2007!

I headed down to the south-east with gridge98 on a quick, two-day trip to find a few caches.
We had some rather mixed weather, with sunshine, rain, hail and wind at different stages, but most of the time it was good weather for caching.
We also had rather mixed results in terms of caches. There were some interesting hides in some terrific places; some along the beaches, some in the pine forests and others at various scenic or interesting locations. We managed a few lucky FTFs, but also a few disappointing DNFs. But all in all, it was a great trip.
After a bit of a hunt around, we soon found the cache. Interesting cammo!
Thanks Hurtle for the cache.

Wow its great to see a cache thats over 15 years old and still ticking along!!
Well done to originally Barry and Beryl and now Hurtle for the longevity of this one.
Nice interesting spot and we even met some travellers from Maryborough QLD and had a chat, great history through here that if people just stick to the main drag they would miss out on.
Plenty of lil hidey holes for the cache but after a short hunt we had the cache in hand. Found, signed and replaced safe and sound, thanks for the cache.

Day 5 of our honeymoon trip in the caravan as newlyweds. What else do you do on a honeymoon but go geocaching as husband & wife of course, and camping too.
After digging for gold with the Chinese, off we went to find some other gold. We had to get past the cache guardian, Mr Stumpy Tail lizard (see photo) who we nearly stepped on for a fairly simple find. It was great to get us out here to the Coorong. TFTC.

Found while staying at the 42 mile camp. Great area for wildlife walking trails and history. Thanks for bring us here with your cache.
Probably wouldn't have come here if not for caching . . . .
Went over to the boardwalk and had a look at the 'well stone' quarry area, then it was off to our camp site for the night .
Thanks for another one Barry and Beryl (and to Hurtle for adopting all these old caches and preserving some of SA's caching history) [^].
