Geo son attacked this one from the water side with some help of friends and a boat. The lid was off and it was filled with water after the recent rains we have had. The log is soaked and all items in it destroyed . Thanks for taking us to the pretty place.
this cache needs maintenance no time for a complete rebuild today but i hope nomads or someone can get to it. As this is a fantastic spot.
Yes this one was found by us but from the logs can see there has been a problems in the past.
Well this cache has been muggled or the weather has got to it again it was full of black muddy water the log was gone and there was only a few swaps floating on the top so we took the ruler and left nothing. as our time restrictions prevented us from rebuilding this cache i will let nomads know and hope it can be fixed. it was a wonderfull spot as we walked back there were dolphins swimming a few meters away from us. Found it with help from the Don when he was up here. The cache was very wet with lots of sand in it. Cleaned it out as best we could however could not write in log as it was too wet and didnt have time to dry it out.
Attacked this one after finding Islandhopper 10. Of course I didn't have the hint with me. Chatted with a guy walking his dog as we strolled along the track. As it turned out no hint no cache so after gardening many square yards of mulch it was back to the van for the vital info. Halfway back the dog walker surprised me with "Did you find it". Turned out he was "The Don" who had found it the day before. He soon pointed me in the right direction. Thanks The Don. In 600+ caches this is the first time I have met another cacher in the field.

Found about 12:30 after an enjoyable walk along the beach. Its been a fantastic day for caching today, so we decided to have lunch on the beach as well.
Found cache fairly quickly. (I walked on it) and thought, that didn't feel right!!
Great hide in a great place.
Took Golf Ball
Left Bear and Mum geocoin
Cottontail dropped in for a visit while we had lunch.

Found this one quite easily though after the recent floods the area has changed a lot. The ache had become totally buried and was quite damp. The coords were spot on. Took TB425291 racer geek car. Obviously the area has changed since the cache was placed, you now have to walk more than 500M from the car, but it is a pleasant walk with a majestic view from the cache.

Found this one this morning on our second attempt. Tried a couple of days ago around dusk but the mozzies were so bad we were forced to abandon the attempt.
Returned this morning, put on loads of bug spray just before we stepped off the beach. Much easier to find this time as a storm had washed away some of the sand from the top of the lid.
Mozzies were very frustrated as we signed the log and rehid the cache.

Was our last to find on a long day of geocaching. Ended up soaking wet and very dirty and tired but was a pretty easy find once we got to the GZ.
Took Liberty Financial house.

Tried to find it for 10 minutes or so but the mozzies were that bad that they were taking us away so we gave up. Maybe in winter will be better.
The hardest cache we have yet attempted. We were very pleased when we found it.
The area is very overgrown and the cache was completely covered by dirt and leaves. It was found by poking the ground with a stick!
It was interesting to read some of the diary entries that went back to 2001.
Great cache.

Great cache.
Great to find such an old cache and in suprisingly good condition too. Everything nice and dry. Found with our geobuddy the Holminator. Took a while to find but eventually the Holminator found the prize by hitting it with a stick!

A good hide standing up well for an older cache. Took some time to find with Mr & Mrs Herbz. In the end had to play this one like a drum to find it. Watch out for the thorny bushes. TFTC left "Khanpur Pakistan" Diabetes TB .

Well hidden - took some scratching around under a some very prickly shrubs before Mrs Oz discovered this well camoflaged cache. great cache good spot - took the diabetes TB and left racergeek TB. TFTC
We took the beach route and pushed through the scrub near GZ. Wandered around a bit trying to fit the cache description and hint. Finally spotted the tiniest edge of the cache poking out in a spot that didn't quite match the description. I guess the vegetation has changed a bit over time. Took the TB as he's been here for some time. Geokids spent a lovely morning playing on the beach afterwards. TFTC
We are new to Geo Caching, Found the small mound and the tree, but not the cache.
Better luck next time.
Thanks for the hunt.

Found it via the tracks but would have been easier by the beach. Well hidden but well worth the walk. Went back by the beach. if you are approaching via the beach enter the bush where there is a tree undermined by the water and you are almost there.
Left Geocoin, FrodoB's Great Seal Gift Geo-coin, mini compass and LED keyring. Took nothing. Thanks for the cache Lawrie & Son

Found this one with eriond & kaname. this was a realy tough find and it was kaname who found it by standing on it. TFTC
Nice Beach!
Tough cache to find, well hidden by Bushfire! (no wonder there are some DNF's... also the area is growing up compared to some of the photos in the gallery)
Walked over it half a dozen times before kaname found it by stepping on the lid
Found on a lovely long weekend away, with fmsam tagging along.

Got within 1mt according to my GPS, but no luck. I think if Lensim had been with me maybe we would have found it. Oh well try again next time I visit this area.
Bushfire found this cache on the 10th July 06 and was back in the area and noticed that there were a couple of DNF so decided to take a stroll out on the island and check it out. A fence and gate has been built to stop all vehicles so the only way is to walk either along the old track or go via the beach and along the edge of the water. It was an easy find as part of the cache was exposed but otherwise it’s in good condition but the large log book is a little damp and could do with a few more swaps. Cleaned up the lid and rehid with more camo so will not be easy for muggles to spot. I thought there was a hint on this cache but it has been removed!!
The track was closed but the walk is OK. Had no luck with finding the cache though. All I took away was a brush with the wait awhile and a dozen fine thorns in my skin that I was digging out for 3 hours afterwards. Oh what fun.
Thanks. SM.
Thanks. SM.
The track was considerably boggy after the recent rain and after sinking ankle deep in mud I gave up on trying to keep my shoes dry. I'm not sure if you can still drive in here as there were large piles of gravel and sand on the track I went in on. The beach does look like a nice spot for some fishing.
Found this one after a search through the bushes. I am sure that there was not another mozzie or sand fly within 50m as they were all over us. Drove all the way with in 30m of the cache. Thanks
We went for a stroll up the road but the going was near impossible due to very large puddles after the rain so we headed for the beach then walked along the sand - much easier - and returned along the sand too.
We are confident that we located GZ but we did not locate the cache.

Tried this without the info.. Not a good idea as I was scratching around at the co-ordinates for 1.5 hrs being bitten by about 50 sandflies & 5 mozzies around 10am was not very painfull just annoying.
Returned about 2 hrs before sunset the next day with my dad who brought along a compass. He hit his head quite badly on the tree branch while stepping up from the beach! Watchout ppl! scratched around for a while then there it was! partially uncovered. Was amazed we did not see it earlier as it was in a visible location. Interestingly big cache! Had to hurry and get out of there quick as there were 100+ sandflies & 20 mozzies biting very aggressively. It was very painfull!!! Glad to finally find the cache though. Thanks Nomads for an interesting cache! TNLNSL

The Dubbo Dudes were with us as we trapsed our way through the scrub to find this one. There were 11 of us altogether! Great thrill for the kids. Oh, OK, and the adults too.

Rogainer was here yet again! Yamba is one of my favourite destinations
Miss rogainer was busy with granny on the beach building sand castles, so I couldn't resist a stroll along the beach.
Cache is looking a bit empty and log is slightly damp, but all is still in good order.

Mrs bloopy liked this spot as she used to be brought here as a wee tacker for swimming at the nearby Whiting Beach. The cache was well hidden and in reasonable condition given the sand inundation. We did our best to clean it out and hide it again. TNLN.
Only had co-ords so didnt realise the bury factor. Didnt find. It was a nice walk up the beach though!

No go for this one. I didn't have anything apart from the co-ords so I didn't know about the bush, mound and tree. 0 for 2 in Yamba so not a good morning. Had a swim on the walk home to make up for it. Bluedog
Wow - a really nice beach at the end of the road. I guess its mainly the locals that visit here as I'm sure not too many others would find it!
We made the walk to the end of the island as I wasn't confident our 2WD would make it... we were then really surprised to see that someone's Hyundai had made it all the way down the track!
On getting to GZ we searched for a little while before we found the cache, although I think we probably stood on it on the way in. I don't think there the description of it being buried under a shrub is accurate anymore... i.e. it is merely covered by some sand and foliage now due to the absence of a shrub.

The cache was uncovered and easy to find and full of dirt so we cleaned it up as best we could and covered it up for the next visiter. We were lucky to be serenaded by some yellow tailed black cockatoo's what a lovely spot. tftc it brings up our 50!
Early morning along the beach and we had the cache, arrived back to our place of stay to find a tick on me, thanks for the tick [:(!] oops i mean cache
Great little spot, the nearby beach looked like a great place to spend a few hours. Unfortunately time was something I was short on so didn't indulge.. plus the midges were out in force and chased me away fairly hastily.
The cache was an easy find and was in good condition although there was some condensation inside, i tried to dry it as much as i could but perhaps a silica pack needs to be placed inside.

Our second cache for the day. A nice spot on a beautiful beach walk. The fishing here can be superb. A nice easy find and then a rush to the car to avoid the showers. Took the can of drink and left the dangerous creatures CD. Tftc
Wasn't too hard to find, as I actually stepped on the cache!!! Luckily it was strong enough. Cache in good condition. Lovely spot, we saw dolphins (porpoises?) frolicing in the water near the beach. Thanks for the cache.
I was staying overnight in town. I will never tire of this area, so went for an early morning walk and decided to head out here to check up on this cache - all is fine, although in the few minutes that I stood there writing in the log book, I must have brushed off about a dozen mosquitoes.
Found on a beautiful Sunday. It was magic here this morning, warm and nice and quiet. Found the cache OK once I used the clues. This cache is in really good nick after 5 years, here's hoping it has a lot more life in it. Took a clip thingy and left bouncy ball and marbles. Thanks...
Had a good look & pooked around with a stick but no luck. There was some newspaper & sticks on the ground but declined to look under this !!
Found by Bushfire-Redant (Geelong). See what you mean about the water on road, glad that I walked in. Took a while to locate. Like others, I walked on it. Lovely views. 12:10pm
TNLN. Read more into clues than I should have re mound.

Teamed up with Scenic Routers to do this one. Beautiful spot and interesting drive in - got the cruiser wet in a deeper than we thought puddle. Found the cache when it got trodden on. Took ball and left tool.
Yankee Beach a very pretty spot for a cache well worth the short walk Thanx. Scenic Routers
First cache find for the Aardvarks!
Just in the area and thought I'd have a look - not too hard to find (I stepped on it )
Came a bit unprepared so just took a rusty can of spaghetti and left a band-aid. Lots of interesting stuff inside.
Nice spot and nice tree!

On way north stopped @ yamba for lunch and noticed this one so we thought we'd give it a go.
Drove along the track until the water feature in the middle of the track ,and it was deep and muddy, so walk the rest.
Arrive at Co-ords but after 3/4 hr nothing except sandflies and limited time.
Anyway might try again when we are up this way

Had reservation when coming here. As per previous log, sratching around for a long time with no luck. Shame, how often does one travel through this town.

Having a short family holiday at the nearby holiday park, so I planned an early morning walk to this cache. I failed to find it on my first attempt as I didn't bring the cache notes with me and couldn't remember the exact description, so I was searching in the wrong area. I returned the next morning more determined to find it. It took me a while, but I eventually found it. It had been nearly 11 months since the last find and somebody had been cutting some of the shrubs around the location, so doubt had crept into my mind, but some persistent stick poking and foot scraping paid off.
Cache is in good condition & contents dry - although tinned food is showing some rust.
I took some 'old maid' playing cards and left a small torch. (which I actually placed on my 3rd visit to the cache!)
Thanks for the cache - the walk along the beach is very pleasant - I had the entire place to myself on all 3 visits.
This really is a delightful part of the world.

heading down to minnie water for a four day long weekend with the 4x4 club so we called in here, almost went to the wrong side but phone a friend helped. had the right vehicle for this one track rough went within 30 metres in vehicle and after parking further on a short walk along the beach and home. a carefull scratch with spade and a find. cache in great shape left a set of paint brushes and took playing cards and a pile of empty bottles nearby. no time for the whiting but a well regarded spot. have placed a cache the other side of town so hopefully a bit more activity. we were only at gz 20 min but did those sandflies get me.

Whenever we're faced with a 50-50 bet you can be sure that we will get it wrong and this cache was no different. Took the wrong side of the river first off, but on the right side it was a simple find. This place is no longer and island and access is real easy.... Made sure we werent spotted as the place was really busy.
Swapped a CD for some SES stuff.

Found at 1.15PM We couldn't find a flat leafed shrub but after some careful searching we managed to find the cache anyway. It was precisely where the coordinates put us but quite hard to see. We took Norm the Gnome to further his travels and left an audio book we got from the You Yangs library stash and listened to on the way up. Greg and Bev
Found by Mary & David at 1100, now en-route to Brisbane. A perfect spot! Lovely views of sand, water and banksia men. Able to drive quite close despite recent rain and no 4WD. Cache in perfect condition; we took a pen and left the Bush Rat from Comedone for a bit of R & R. Thanks to Ray & Maya.

The Nomads returned to check the cache and found Norm the Gnome. Maya loved Norm but she had to leave him so he can travel as requested. We look forward to following his adventures. The cache was in good condition. Ray and Maya.
Found it at 11.45am on the 7 October 2001. Had a lovely day with the children, and were rewarded by finding our first cache. Took the off road video (traveller), sewing kit and stubby holder, and left Norm the Gnome (our own Hitch hiker), some playing cards and other local souvenirs.
Cache was in a great location and had not been disturbed. All contents were dry and clean.
The directions provided are accurate and simple to follow.
There are still plenty of items for others to enjoy!
We are all now hooked on Geocaching and have commenced planning for our own cache.
Thank you Nomads.
