We visited the site this afternoon. The wind and the sea have changed the coastline considerably and it is no longer a suitable place for the cache to be hidden so we are now archiving this cache.
It looks as if this cache could be missing so we will disable it in the meantime and if it does prove to be missing we will probably archive it.
Couldn't find it the previous two visits so printed the spoiler photo to be sure. Went back to find I had the right spot all along. Unfortunately the cover mentioned is no longer around & I would suggest the cache was muggled some time ago.[:(!]
Tried a year ago without success and tried again yesterday with like results. Is it there? I didn't dig too deeply into the base of the tree as it looked as though it had never hidden anything. There was also little litter cover around the tree. Hmm. Hatas
Tried this one a year ago when, as it transpired, it had been muggled. Fear it may have suffered the same fate again, found the clue matching spot and suspicious cache sized depression but no little box (Did widen the search area to find the, now discarded, seat mentioned in previous clue though!!)
A nice place for a cache and an easy find. It could be a bit harder to get to at high tide, especialy on a bike. I work at the bottom of the hills near Tunnel Rd. It's not far from there to the cache in a straight line, but it's a long way to bike right right around. Would have been easier to kayak over, if it was high tide.

Yah! We found it this time. Came here 11 months ago, when it was missing. Thanks for replacing it, so that we could return to this little hideaway.
Cache find #773
Cache was quite damp inside, dried it out, uplifted Unite Diabetes TB, as it was going rusty. Also took large pink whistle to allow the cache to close better.

Found while on a lovely group walk round the spit today. Easy find. TNLN TFTC Long-John
My second cache. I found this one with Hello Mrs. There were lots of muggles walking on the beach. I like the beach. I took a marble and left a fireman
Out with Cuttie to find her first caches. We had a nice walk along the beach at low tide watching muggles out walking with dogs. It was an easy find for Cuttie. Pleased to see this one had been reactivated. Took a lizard and left a whistle.
Easy find as cache was exposed to the elements. Gave it a "natural" covering of pine needles whwn we put it back

Did a bit of a loop around the beach which was rather pleasant walk. Cache was an easy find. TNLN Thanks.
Was able to find the correck parking spot so only a short walk out to the beach , tide was on way out so quick walk along sand for an easy find, Thanks 7th of 85
Lovely walk. Great find. But I think that sea lettuce and hot sun don't mix but still a great walk.
Thanks

Found with the A team from Alex.
Nice walk along the sand. Muggles around so we had to fake a shoe problem.

Nice quick, easy find, once the muggles left. Nice spot. It was low tide and there were cats eyes everywhere. Interesting to see how far some of them had travelled.

Hi Guys thanks very much for this cach, that I found today,I had to do a wee bit of looking but finally found it on the other side of the tree,I signed the book and place it according to the instructions,,thanks again,it was a nice day to be out and about...
Sorry we couldn't get out to look at this cache any earlier but we took the opportunity this afternoon and it was indeed missing. We have replaced it with a new 200ml clear cache container. Let's hope this one stays for a while.
A stunning day with the tide nearly fully in. I looked and looked and sat down when strollers strolled by for half an hour but nothing didi I find. I thought this would have been the esy one today. I suspect it's not there. Hatas
A lovely site, that we took some time just finding the access point. An enjoyable walk, despite the very moist air and threatening rain. Found the site, the tree, the lovely basic seat nearby, the tide out... everything, even possibly some cache contents (an avon sample). But regret no cache. It is seldom that Butterfly Lady gives up when on the scent of the sweet nectar of a cache find.... but unfortunately this time DNF
Haven't been to this part of town before but I'll be sure to be back to explore more. Gives you a different vies of Redcliffs area.
TNLN. TFTC. Lovely view. Just did a hot orienteering event round S brighton.

After a beer a group at a new years party of us decided to go after a nearby cache after I told the story of the days earlier escapades in which I found my first ever cache. It was 10pm and still light.
We got to the end of the driveway and decided that 2.5km was really not too far, so we would walk there...
Of course that was 2.5Km in a straight line, which we couldn't do.
To cut a long story short 40 minutes later I was walking down the beach in the pitch black while my friends turned on their mobile phone lights to show the way. I called out the range. 4 meters, 3, 2 1, right here I said, and low and behold there was the cache also directly in front of us. Another couple of geocaching converts in the making there. We called the party and someone came and picked us up for the ride home.
Most enjoyable, a lot of laughs and good good time. TNLNSL. Thanks!

This was pretty straight forward especially as the cache was exposed and the last entry was by Wal who had come across the cache by chance. Thankfully this muggler had not muggled the cache and all is intact. Wal even left his e-mail address. -snake +superglue. Rehid as clue described. Cheers Sallies.
Kiwisean and Dyl on a geocaching mission - got 6 today including this one which was quite easy at lowtide
The second cache for our last morning in Christchurch.
As usual I tried the most direct approach which turned out to be private but by time I realised that I was past anyway.
What a beautiful morning to be sitting in the sun filling in the log.
I had to watch out for several muggles though. The joggers can sneak up remarkable fast but the cache was safely back in place when this occurred.

Had a very pleasant walk around the estuary this evening and checked this cache. We replaced the logbook as the old one was full and put the cache back as it is in good condition.
we found it just as it should be -- found 3 out of 4 today its been a great day --- A new log book is needed here.
[^] Z showed us the way. Great views across the estuary and city to the mountains, on a clear, crisp day.
Wonderful area for a pleasant and peaceful walk, had the whole area to ourselves. Found cache easily as it was uncovered. Recovered it with a bit more vegetation. Log books are now full. No swaps.
We had a lovely little walk in a circuit by parking at Plover St, and walking the open sea beach with views of Clifton and Sumner and yacht regattas, then around the corner to locate this cache, and on back to the car inspecting the various ways different properties protect themselves from the sea - in about 1 hour easy stroll. The cache site is exposed to southerly and Norwest winds and that could explain why it was fully uncovered - the camouflaging vegetation had blown away. So we covered it up again - just a little corner showing. Thanks Sallies for another cache that encouraged us to do a coast walk instead of our usual hills. No swaps.
Heh heh - looked straight at and didn't see it! Well disguised little cache. Thanks
Lovely walk along the beach at very low tide. The cache was uncovered, so we replaced it as it was meant to be hidden. TNLN.
Found in the cool of the evening tonight. A serene vista across the flat.

While on a picnic nearby, decided to check nearest waypoints on the GPS. Soooo - had to do a few knowing nothing about them except for the coordinates. A good test of the caching skills for the buckoboy tribe!!
Approached by walking 400m along the beach, enjoying looking at the properties on the wateredge, and found the cache easily.
No swaps made but thanks for the great walk.

A pleasant walk through the vegetation and along the sand. And a new view of some familiar locations.

We loved the view from this cache. As we were walking there it was a really cold easterly wind, but it just vanished just as we arrived at the beach. We sat for a bit and just looked out over the water. Thanks for yet again showing us a place that we would probably never have visited.

Seconde cache this afternoon. Easy to find. But I had to wait 15mn because a family were staying near. I came here on bike and crossed a magnificent forest. Really beautiful view. I took some photos. I'm French.

18:45 Another evening out caching. I enjoyed the walk along the beach even though the high tide meant I had to wade through the water at places. Found cache easily after I had let a group of girls walk past. Finally a different kind tree! TFTC
Great day. Very low tide. Easy find. Yes, shame the laneways nearby are private property. Thanks again Sallies.

nice spot and we enjoyed the walk. 7th cache today, and probably the last one. + keyring, - cute little green dinnasaur.(oops spelling was never my strong point) Thanks guys
Nice spot. It was howling with wind today. I guess 50+kph.
Pity about all the 'Private-No Entry' signs by all the nearby walkways... We agree with Papa Bear that it was too exposed. Visible from 5+m if you were looking the right way. Not surprising that the needles got blown away in the wind. We put a piece of driftwood to partly cover it.
Please note Sallies that there is only one log page left. Plenty of room on the backs of the pages though.
+giraffe. Thanks.

A pleasant walk and lunch at the cache, followed by a paddle in the high tide (we walked out 100 paces and were not even knee deep) made for another enjoyable cache outing. No exchange. Thanks Sallies.
Searched for ages but didn't find it - probably a tall order since I have not yet been financial enough to buy a GPS. But intend going back to have another look!
Found it on the second try - best to attempt on the right side of the land! Easy on second try though. Had my firefighter friend and my two Latvian friends along for the trip but I actually found it....... Took Harvey R Ball memento and left a carabiner light in its place. This makes no 11 for me and still can't afford a GPS.... but the first pay packet in the new year might have a sizeable dent in it, methinks!
We've meant to do this one for ages, but never seem to think of it when we're passing. Last time, we were approaching it from the wrong side of the water!
So, a solo Papa Bear made the long and arduous walk for dozens and dozens of metres and finally laid our claim to this cache.
It wasn't hard, since the container was sitting uncovered in plain sight! (Did someone fail to re-cover it? Or is it meant to be that obvious?!)
No swaps, but I did remove the party popper (which probably wasn't considered an explosive device when it was left there!)
Thanks for the end of this series, Sallies!

We visited some friends who we have camped with many times on their Sections 469m from here, we took the long way round on the beach, and found the cache without too much difficulty.
The logbook is full, so needs a new one, took nothing left a shell from the beach, our friends intro to caching, their comment, Where is the next one ?
A very pleasant winters day, no wind, and a very low tide.
Many thanks Sallies for the outing, beats painting.

Twas easy to find, and a lovely location. The sun was low in the sky over the city, but the tide was out so it wasn't as pretty as it could have been. Great spot! Cheers Gav [145]
This was the second find of the night. Great view of the lights up on the hill. I was in the right place but had a bit of trouble seeing what I was doing. Great hiding place. I didn't make an exchange.
Thanks again.

Trickyiest part to finding this cache was probably finding where the closest parking spot was. Tide was out, what I'd guess to be most of the way when I got there. Thanks Sallies.
Great view. I can almost see my Barnett cache. That reminds me I haven't yet visited Paradise Cave so I will go there now. No exchange as I have no small items in my bag.
After a day at the Waipara Wine & Food Festival we needed some exercise, so thought we'd try to be the first - and we were! Found an old bottle initially but persevered and struck gold without using the hint. An interesting place for more walks in future. Left a turtle.
