Having had a fleeting trip Oop North, I engineered the train journey back to involve a change at Darlington. It's been a while since I've been up this way, pre-my-caching-days, and sadly no time on this whistle stop visit to see friends nearby. But, just enough time to dash out of the station and round the corner to find this one. A frantic little search at GZ later and photo of the necessary information was secured, then it was time to rush back for my onward train.

Had noticed this before, but had never read the plaque.

Found on arriving at Darlington, though gz was about 20 metres from where it showed on map. E mailed owner with answers. TFTC

I've lived near Darlington my whole life and never noticed this stone before (even though I was a DJ at indie night for 'Movies' night club just around the corner at one point in my dim and distant past). When I mentioned the stone to my wife, who only moved to the region in the early 2000's, she knew exactly where it was! tftc

Celebrating mystery girl's anniversary by fetching our 900th cache. Little did we know about Darlington before today. Had a nice bath at Dolphin's and were strolling the busy shopping streets when we encountered the stone. We liked the place near the stone too. Had to read more about the person from wiki to assure he was worth the placate. We had actually come across his life in a movie we saw recently. Will send details to the CO.
