Travelling home from Bendigo I targeted a few Multi caches and designed the route to include them. This was one and I was so delighted to spend time in this beautiful cemetery. The search within the cemetery took me to and past some beautiful and interesting gravestones. It took me a bit longer to find the second grave, but that just meant reading more! This a very photogenic location. This old cache is well worth a favourite point.
Something special or unusual goes here:We collected the numbers, did the calc's and made our way to GZ. It was starting to get dark and we hadn't brought torches but still, we should be able to find this. Then as the PAF was made Mr. Muff found the cache. How had we all missed that. Been a long day I guess. The Generic Bit:The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 4: Echuca crawling back to Seymour and then onto Kaniva. Two days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]***Thanks maccamob for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.
Well its the long weekend and I was wondering what to do so a trip up to Bendigo was called for. This weekend will help me continue along with my streak which I want to get to 183 as any more is just to hard to achieve.Im having to resort to detours on the way home from work but a weekend trip away will help me along and also any excuse to get out of Melbourne is a great idea. After finding a cache just down the dirt road I stopped at the info sign to read about why there was 2 seperate cemetery here, interesting story and I loved the rock wall around the Catholic one.I then made my way to the front gates and then went for a wander to collect what was required and tried to be careful on where I stepped.I loved the mausoleum building that I passed with some nice stone work.I soon had a set of coords and then cache was soon in hand and I added my name to another maccamob cemetery cache.A fav goes out to you for showing me this place. Thanks maccamob TFTC.
We have set off on our annual winter escape but with no real plans other than a set of ideas. Our first stop is Bendigo, a place we haven't visited for any length of time in the past. There appears to be much to see and a good variety of caches to keep us entertained. We met up with our caching buddies Rebel Acts and Omegaman for a few days as well which added to the laughs and fun.Somewhat sadly, today was the day we all had to head home, us for an appointment but we will soon be back.Caches logged as RASPOM or SKI Pair if they had already found them. This is one of the caches we have found to date.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache maccamob.**SKI Pair****
Carefully finding our way between small markers and large memorials we gathered information that led us to the cache. Thanks maccamob for bringing us here.
Find number 12908 at 11:04:59am on Tuesday the 6 February 2024I'm off on a mini camping trip, well, for a week anyway, free camping on Majors Creek not far from Nagambie. Generally veging but doing some geocaching as well in my spare time Today I am off for a drive through Heathcote to Bendigo and then back through Tooleen and Whroo. What an amazing place, loved the wander around and found the prize quickly.**Thanks for placing this cache maccamob**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. bunadoorian and I were up in Axedale having lunch with friends at the Tavern. Afterwards we came here and enjoyed our time finding where we needed to be to make the calculations. Calculations made we then headed to find the GZ. I found the cache nestled nicely in its resting place. TFTC and for bringing us to this lovely cemetery - maccamob. I understand why Mary loves visiting cemeteries.
A very nice stroll around the cemetery was had then a quick find. Very pleasant on a warm afternoon. Thanks for making our trip to Axedale more enjoyable and TFTC.
I love cemetery caches. The history and reading some of the tombstones. I tried my hardest but there were many graves with just a small metal cross in the ground, so trying to not walk over graves was challenging. I located the graves I needed to and worked out the coordinates. I forgot to bring some paper to write on so my hand was covered in numbers Found the final location of the cache and was surprised of its location but quickly stamped the log returned it to its resting place and tip toed my way out back to the car. Thanks for this great adventure and the Irish Memories Maccamob
I really enjoy cemetery caches. I find them very peaceful places to be. I didn't realise that Axedale had so many Irish........ or quite so many Bridgets!! I carefully collected all of the information required & headed to the coords......... but drew a blank. Double checking my numbers, I realised that a 6 had transposed as a 2!!! Yeah, that's really going to help locate a cache! Talk about the Irish. Us Scots aren't any different to our Celtic cousins With my error corrected, I found the cache without further trouble. Many thanks
This cemetery gave me the creeps. Im unsure if it was the unmarked graves or those that were sinking into the ground none the less I had to stop to find this golden oldie way point two had me confused with so many Bridgette's and GPS slightly off...final Co were spot on, with no issue in finding the cache.
Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks
Thanks
Stopped because this was a old cache 2003. . Needed a find for the A - Z challenge. Interesting location.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
Today started off wet when we left Wangaratta heading in a round about way to Bendigo finding caches in a different LGA and others that we had targeted, but thankfully the rain stopped around lunch time which was good.
Stopped here as this one was an old cache.
Thanks for the cache maccamob.

Found on our way back to SA after attending the Mega Event in Rutherglen, searching for caches along the way. A quick dash through Seymour and Heathcote before camping out in Wellsford State Forest near Bendigo for the night. Thanks for the cache maccamob!
Sitting at home arfter lunch on my day off with nothing planned, I got a phone call from K9team. She asked what I was up to and if I wanted a visitor. I said sure let's go caching.
On our way to Big Snuffler's cache "Campaspe Island" k9team took a double take out her window and excitedly pointed out the cemetery asking how we had never noticed it and there must be a cache there. We were not disappointed!
Walking around gathering the information we needed and checking out some of the graves it didn't take us long to find GZ. Reading some of the logs, I realised the cache was hidden in 2003. I was 9 years old in 2003. Favirote points added for the longevity of the cache.
Thanks Maccamob for the cache.
All aspects of this cache were in good condition. Tftc

How have I driven pasted this cemetery so many times and not noticed it!?
I quickly hit the brakes and said to Ghihash do I have time to walk around the old cemetery?
He said he didn’t have plans
So I wandered around for a bit looking at the old graves before we started the cache.
We got all of the information and in between a little side tracked on my part
But in the end we had the cache in hand

Didn't find the end point. It would have been a perfect spot for it if it was the right co-ords. However it is the right final co-ords then I don't understand the final location, yes I understand we are hunting Tupperware in the bush but we do need to go off the beaten track to do it.
Rant is over.
Hopefully we find it next time.

This afternoon it was time to road trip it to Bendigo for a camping weekend and to visit the White Night Festival. I earmarked a couple of caches to grab on my way, particularly needing a multi for the day.
The sun was setting so I needed to make quick work of this one. I gathered all the info at the first waypoint and set off on my way to WP2, being careful where to step as there were a number of graves not well identified other than a short metal post in the ground near each corner.
Answering the questions it was off to GZ. My first thoughts were for a particular cache type, but after checking the size I realised it was larger and could only be in a few spots. The log was soon found and signed and it was off to camp to set up in the dark.
Thanks maccamob for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Coming through town I saw this old Maccamob cache... gotta love finding them! This placement pre-dates my start date, so was an absolute must!
This is my 24th Maccamob find over the years, not bad considering our home-based are about 700km apart! lol
Did the research and calcs, which led to the cache.
I think my 1st Maccamob find was similiar, but much closer to home...
Love you guys! May see you in Mildura?

Out for the day & thought I’d try my hand at a multi as I haven’t done one in a long while. TFTC!
It’s not St Patrick’s day but currently feeling very ️ Irish. great stone fence around this gave us a bit of a walk in. Amazing stories these stone’s could tell. Very sad children died so young.
Out & about for Mother’s Day to do a couple of caches. Thought we’d stop here & pay our respects & do the multi. Team gleeson soon had the cache found. TFTC

Continuing my tour through the region finding local Challenge caches and some old caches as well, brings me to Axedale and to this multi. Didn't have too much of a problem gathering the clues for the waypoints and soon found myself looking straight at GZ before I even confirmed it on my GPS. Thx maccamob, yet another one of your gems of caches in places I haven't seen before. Loved the little bluestone building here. All in good condition today. Thx heaps.

Left a bit early for my Astronomy weekend so I could do a bit of caching on the way up.
I probably could have done a bit more as I don't think I will see any stars tonight!
There is certainly little doubt about who settled in this area!
An interesting cemetery to wander around reading the headstones.
I had not noticed this location although I have driven thru the town a few times.
Interesting final location.
Thanks, Robmc.

Thanks for the walk around the Cemetery. We didn’t realise how many Brigitte’s there were in Axedale. Hide and cache doing well.
Perfect find on hot Sunday afternoon.
Lots of history here.
We love a good cemetery cache.
Thanks for this one M&D.
See you in Wangaratta.

**The Adventure:** We were visiting the area due to a newfound interest in genealogy and therefore discovering that ancestors were buried in the cemetery “next door”. After paying respects to great-great-grandparents et al, we wandered over here for this multi. I was going to do an Irish accent, but I don’t think it translates as well on the page. Anyway, we love doing cemetery caching as it is filled with history and interesting stories. This is the 4th cemetery cache of maccamob's that we've completed (Boroondara Mahal, Melbourne General, and Linton’s Grave Mistake. We are still working on Geelong) and we are looking forward to doing the others.
Thanks maccamob for placing this cache for our geo-enjoyment. Cache on

A day to myself meant a Geocaching drive picking up some golden oldies and random caches along the way. A simple multi here and a quick find. Left notepad in the car so my arm became the notepad! Ha ha. Thanks for the cache - I do love wandering cemeteries.
What a great multi. I love cemeteries at the best of times...so happy to finally have a cache like this. TFTC
Good multi my phone was sending me in circles but eventually got there. I had been putting off seeing an old friend for too long . Thank you Garth
I do enjoy these caches where you find yourself wondering around old cemeteries and collecting numbers. Thanks for the cache. And thanks for bringing us here.
Disabled for the duration of the renewed Covid-19 lockdown. We believe the responsible thing is to disable all our caches until this latest crisis passes.

These kinds of caches are always enjoyable and interesting also kind of sad, could spend hours roaming around places like this

Disabled for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. Although exercise is ok, beaches, parks etc are gradually being closed, and we are being asked to stay home. The virus can be transmitted by surface contact, so please don't take the chances. Geocaching is a game, and we are dealing with a serious Public Health issue, so we need to get our priorities in order. Please stay at home!

I decided to head to Bendigo today, and stop for a few caches along the way. This one was slightly better terrain than the last maccamob cache I attempted today. Plus, I told myself, I was resting for a fair while while driving between caches! After a nice stroll, I found the required waypoints and soon found the cache. Thanks for placing the cache maccamob.

Team OZCAT had success here. My partner catnap was not about to doubt her calcs and Coords to GZ whereas I did. Reason for my doubt was that location for GZ did not comply with groundspeak guidlines. This is a cemetery.
Team OZCAT completed the said task with ease, although when we go to GZ, we thought we got our coordinates wrong as it was in a place where we would not have expected a cache to be. Love the Irish.
Since there were infrequent finds, I am wondering if people felt the same as my partner and I in regards to the position

Another well kept cemetery with the most amazing rock wall surrounding it. Pity it is falling into disrepair in a few places. Enjoyed following the journey you set me and rewarded with a smiley TFTC maccamob A favourite here
Found with CybergranV on World Geocaching day.
A lovely place to be laid to rest if one must be laid to rest.
No rest for CybergranV and I though as we strolled our stroll, puzzled the puzzle and had the log signed and returned in no more time than it took to admire our surroundings. [^]

Found with dalerious on our way to the Geocaching Day Event at Bendigo today.
Thanks for the walk around this very well kept cemetery. It looks as if it would be lovely here in Spring, freesias are coming up in their thousands.
Cache and contents dry after the heavy rain here overnight.

My first thought were a very impressive cemetery as I pulled up. That crypt was sowell constructed. Having visited Ireland the names were familiar. Took some searching and re searching and eventually found what was needed and the cache.

While on my way home from the Echuca event, I was passing through this town and noticed this cache so I decided to give it ago.
When I arrived at the start I was surprised to see so many Harrington's all in a row, it was very odd for me as that is a family name on my mums side.
I worked on the numbers but must have got something wrong as I wasn't in the correct spot to collect the next information but I soon found the right spot.
I was soon heading off to GZ and once again I thought that I must have done something wrong as I didn't think the cache was going to be where I was standing but after a quick look it was there right in front of me.

Geez I hate multis. Really, really hate multis. But everywhere I travel, I convince myself that I need to move on from the negativity and embrace this style of cache. Long story short....it was a relief to add my name to the log and collect The Tritonz pathtag as a reward for my frustration. Thanks for the nice big cache.
We always love to do caches in a cemetery, especially if its a maccamob multi. As we turned off the highway we noticed the impressive headstones and the awesome crypt standing out in this plot of history.
We wandered around for a bit, reading the old graves before eventually getting down to the business of finding the numbers for GZ. With all the information collected at both waypoints we soon had the cache in hand. Thanks maccamob for bringing us here to this quaint cemetery with all its history.
Took Harrowang's Irish themed pt and left ours in its place.

IN the area today with The Tritonz, we could not go past this multi. After gathering the information and doing the calculations, we found the cache. Thanks maccamob for highlighting this piece of Ireland.
Always fun to do a multi in a cemetery, and we have a little Irish in us too! Found all the answers and did all the sums and found the well camouflaged container at 2.37pm helped or hindered by the mosquitoes! Left our special Irish Heritage PT in honour of all those Irish folks buried here. #4121 TFTC maccamob - very pleased that this multi worked first time, unlike some others we have attempted this long weekend!
This is a very nice multi and a pleasure to do and find. It is in very good order. Thanks for the cache maccamob - think I've earned myself a geosticker for the day and the cache has earned a favourite from me for its being here when I've needed it.
Find #999 for me. I visited this wonderful little cemetery today with my 2 children and a muggle friend. A car pulled up at the cemetery entrance just before us, but after getting out of the car they headed in a different direction to us so I assume they weren't geocachers. It took me a while to find the second waypoint (perhaps I made a mistake in my calculations!), but once I'd found that it was smooth sailing for us. Thanks so much for this multi-cache maccamob, which now completes the Axedale caches for me!
Been meaning to stop here fo months now and attempt this Cache in good condition. TFTC SL Intreaged by what seems to be a family crypt (I think that's what it's called).
Yay! My 750th find and what better place than a cemetery and with my favourite cache type, a multi. Thank you so much for placing a cache here, I loved both of the cemeteries here, so rich in history.
Yay kenare on your 750th find! This cache took longer than expected because kenare put the wrong number in!! Lol!! This was a really interesting place. Tftc
We're off on another family geocaching holiday! The geofamily: Geoparents = moneydork and tounga, geosis = locus cache and myself. Another raid into Mexico and that other state to the north of Mexico.
Another interesting cemetery visited thanks to geocaching.
Visiting some TB's for the 'experience' and the miles.
Thanks for bringing us here and making us look around this wonderful place maccamob.

I found this cache on a caching trip to Bendigo, Victoria, with Locus Cache and Sushilord.
We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed all of the caches that we found.

Day 2 of the Bendigo trip with sushilord, Moneydork and Tounga.
We started the day with a very enjoyable bike ride along the O'Keefe rail trail and ended it driving in a forest
64 finds (2 will be logged once I have reached the required milestone challenge) and only 3 DNFs , one of which (Sogno Impossibile) was more of a could not search rather than a DNF.
Loved this multi! Great to see all of the Irish gravesites and to wander through this pretty area.
Loved the mausoleum, too
A nice loosening up wander to prepare us for the bike ride ahead.

Ahh at last we can cross this one off our to do list.
Been wanting to d this multi for ages so today before going to the Event in Bendigo we
did a few caches in Axedale. So together with little blue Wren we made the find.
Great multi a favourite point from us. TFTC.

This took us waaay to long to solve. All was good at the first waypoint and we found the second one easily. We had a discussion about which ages we were suppose to add together..was it just the two? or all?? We ended up in a spot that seemed an unlikely place for a cache. So we widened our search but still didn't find it. So we went back to the second waypoint and recalculated and ended up in a completely different area, still with no luck. After reading the logs and everyone else said it was easy to find...there was no way we were giving up! So back to waypoint two and recalculated again taking us back to the first place...looked a little harder and ya finally found the cache. Don't know how we missed it! SL TNLN TFTC
Called by on way through from Heathcote and picked this one up. I'd worked out the co ords on a previous visit but time was short then and I didn't get to find it. So with just eyes this time I returned and sussed out the hide. SL. Thanks for the history visit.
After a successful event in Wedderburn and an overnight stay in Bendigo, we headed back to the big smoke with the thought that we had only 3 things to achieve today, find this cache, buy some more honey from the man in Axedale and finally try and find the Unknown cache in Beverage.
We had worked out this before but by the time we got to do this one, the cache had gone missing. Later on we read in the logs that it was moved to "close by" so we were determined to try again today. We did not want to do the puzzle again so with 1-1/2 sets of eyes, we scouted around for a while before finally investigating something which turned out to be the cache. We noticed the previous log seemed to be a muggle mourner but they did cover up the cache again.
TFTC maccamob and the next time we drive through Axedale we will only be stopping for the honey.
Cheers.

This is certainly an interesting place to come to and read some of the history. Thanks maccamob.
While here had a look about a lot of old graves and the fence still standing a lot of people resting here. Thanks maccamob FTC.
This was my First multi cache find and was good fun (without being too difficult)
A neat little multi that was fun to complete....
Always interesting to wander around these places and read about the locals and some of the history that goes with it. No problems with the details and the cache was soon in hand. 38 degree day, but I was finally comig to the end of it....
Thanks guys....good fun.......

"I'm off to visit my friends in Ballarat tomorrow, do you want to come?"
They were the magic words that my wife said to me yesterday.
How to respond? Well I wanted to start a happy dance and throwing high fives willy nilly, but I took a more restrained option.
I waited a few seconds and said, "Well, I might find a few things to do to fill in the day if you want a day to yourself."
YEEEEAAAHHHHH, day pass.
So off I went. Leaving early in the morning I decided to head out the other side of Bendigo.
The other week I tackled the nearby rail trail and ignored this multi as I didn't feel I could give it the time. The clock was on my side today.
What a marvellous old cemetery. These are amazing places and once again the age of the residents was the thing that amazed me, they did it tough in those days. The little crypt thing was incredible. So out of place yet so incredible. I actually thought it was a small chapel at first.
The clues were soon found and good coordinates soon had my hand delving gingerly around GZ. I soon had the log signed and then went for another wander through the graves. Amazing.

Suscoe's 19th find of 25 on this delightful Saturday as this warm spell just rolls on and on.
We had an enjoyable day doing the rounds of Bendigo visiting caches here and there.
We were joined by the muggle sisters for a while and we had lots of fun with them.
This was a quick find here. after we had done the work yesterday and we had checked up with the updated cache noted and a quick find ended up.
Thanks to maccamob for placing this cache, and a really interesting history.

Suscoe had no luck here today, we wondered where it could be?
Oh well maybe another trip one day.

The original hiding spot has been removed, so we relocated the cache a few metres away and replaced the container.
Quick find after a bit of wandering around. Cache was out and exposed. Tried to cover as best we could. SL TFTC

A lovely sunny day to grab a few caches, Worked out the required information with CBJH1990, we both circled the GZ before I spotted the cache and we signed ours names and moved on TFTC
As usual Maccamob didn't let us down with another quality cemetery cache. This area certainly did have a great deal of Irish immigrants. Such a beautiful and well kept cemetery. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
I dropped by in the morning but the gardener was doing some work there. I thought that I would stop by on my way home but there was a funeral being conducted so I kept going. I will return sometime soon as I have rellies in Bendigo who I visit.
We had been out to lunch at the nearby taverna and decided to call in to the cemetery on our way home. During childhood visits to the nearby camp we had trekked to the cemetery at night to see the legendary Axedale Andy. Mega-cache inspected the interesting structure and thought 'that looks like a great spot for a cache'. Aha - there is one there. Geocaching without any geotools!

It is always interesting strolling around cemeteries and this was no exception. We had some debate on which was actually the first John, but fortunately we chose correctly. This cache wins the best booty for the day. TFTC
As I was going by and wanted this cache for the Old Timer challenge and I needed a rest break (legs crossed, it makes driving interesting) it was a no-brainer to pull off the highway to fulfill both of my needs.
It was a pleasant walk though the cemetary and a bit of fun finding the numbers needed for the other waypoint and cache location. All solved I headed off again.
Thanks for the cache maccamob.
