We were off to the USA and Canada for a few weeks of holiday, and thoroughly enjoyed traveling around, and visiting the many different places and caches we came across
This one was next up on our cycle tour around DC today, so we continued riding around the lake, and soon arrived at GZ. We quickly spotted the information needed, and just sat down near the waterside for a bit before heading off for the next one [^]

A wonderful cache to visit on a warm day ... there is a lovely breeze coming off the water. Another place I would not have seen if not for geocaching ... yay!
Visited this one while walking around the area. Grabbed the details, took the required photo (not my best side though) and sent off my e-mail.
Thanks for showing me another piece of the local history.

Found while in the States on business all the way from the UK! TFTC and helping me explore Washington DC!
Walked over on busier part of day so I had to be patient crossing road. This part has a great view of the Jefferson Memorial. Sending information to CO. TFTC BH55
Now I know the history behind these cherry blossoms. By hanks for putting this cache together.
All the monuments were fascinating, but my favorite site of the day was my daughter and son-in-law home from Ethiopia to speak at Peace Corp Summit.
Heading to the East Coast and then north in our RV, grabbing assorted caches along the way. A special thanks to all the cache owners that make this hobby possible. Thanks for the fun, caches and hides. All logs marked with a circled "GB". Today was a special day we rode the Metro into DC and walked way to many miles in the processing of grabbing 20 Virtuals and 7 Earthcaches. If any answers are required they are or will be messaged to the appropriate CO.
Fun monument walk about today. Will have to come back during cherry tree flower season
Beautiful evening for geocaching. Glad to find this one because it is a very pretty spot. TFTC
[center][navy]Yesterday I arrived in Washington DC. Today was sightseeing with geocaching on the top of my to-do-list. I started in the morning. The weather was perfect for that, it was not too hot and there were only some lonley drops of rain.
Nice view. Unfortunatly I couldn't go directly to the marked coordinates because the way was closed. But I get the answers with my cam. [/navy]
[green]Thanks for this virtual at this place![/green]

11723 23:15:00 Spent the whole day wandering round DC on foot, then walked back to the Metro station around midnight only to find it was closed! Did most of the caches at night which was good because it was cooler. It's a nice city to walk round at night anyway, as it adds a little extra at many locations. TFTC
Spent the day walking the mall and visiting monuments and caches . Great day. Thanks
A week of touring and caching with my GeoDad in Washington. Nice trees. Thanks for the fun!
Thank you for the poetic cache page. Uploaded picture of the nearby the construction work being done to correct the quotation from Dr. King.

Out exploring the mall monuments and memorials by bike on a beautiful day. Will send email with answers. TFTC. Chris
Found it with my dad Topher_LV while in DC for a vacation. He sent the answer. tftc
I am in the area from Savannah Georgia for work and of course I remembered my G P S'r so that I could feed this addition of Geo Caching. The coordinates for this cache were accurate and it did not take me too long to have the needed information or log in hand, depending on the type of cache. Thanks for putting this together and for bringing me to this area.
I spent a good part of the afternoon this first day making my way around the National Mall visiting all of these great monument and memorials and gathering smiles on the map!
Remember, it is all about the miles and the smiles ~TFTC

Had a great time walking around here while going to visit all of the other monuments too!
Enjoying a family trip to Washington DC. This was one of many of our Virtual/Earthcaches that we found around the mall. We took a picture across the basin of the Jefferson Memorial as our favorite view. I would love to be here when the cherry trees are in bloom. TFTC
Today we made a trip trough the mall and took this riddle for a little break at this nice place. Thanks for the cache.
A rainy day in DC and if I was to upload my favorite views from this Cache, it would definitely include sunshine! Anyway, the walk around the Mall and surroundings was very impressive and will leave me with a good memore, despite the crappy weather . Thanks for this virtual Cache!

Came to DC from western Maryland with lpyankeefan, tazscouter, legoladz to meet up with a group from southern Maryland in order to attend the WWFM Event. The group also managed to find many other caches including many terrific Virtuals and Earthcaches while in the area. Had a great day walking from cache to cache while taking in everything this great city has to offer.
This cache was my 524th cache find. It was number 3 of 30 caches for the day which included 0 DNFs. I am a geocacher from Hagerstown, Maryland and have been caching since April 2010. Thanks for the fun, Trevelyan's R&R!

Great location for a virtual answers are on the way we will post a pic when we get home. TFTC
In Washington for a virtual cache run before visiting Ford's Theater, and this was our second. I've been eying this one for some time now and today was the day. Thanks to Trev for another fun hide.
I was in Washington DC about 1 ½ years ago. At that time I was not Geocaching and now I am. So while in DC do as a cacher would do, “CACHE”. I had fun revisiting the sites I saw 1 ½ years ago and gathering the information necessary for getting find and a smiley. There are so many monuments in the area and so many virtual caches that I could only get 6 of them today before having to head for work. I’m working in the area but will be headed back to AZ tomorrow. The weather was a little cold but I bundled up and had a nice walk around the monuments. Thanks for putting out your virtual.

Another good reason to visit the Tidal Basin, thanks for bringing us here. Thought I was going to have an awesome photo of a helicopter flying by, but my camera phone froze up just then .
Well, these are some seriously funky cherry trees, they are definitely showing their age! What a very interesting location, thanks for bringing us here to enjoy the views.
This was one of quite a few virtuals we collected on a rather lonnnggg walk around DC today.
Email will be sent shortly, TFTC.

My very last cache in DC (for now at least)! When first I saw the name and approximate location of the cache I thought it might refer to Forest Gump's Jenny who ran through the pool of reflection, but it was not. Although this Jenny was even more fruity no wading was required... TFTC!
This is the 4th day of my much anticipated trip to the 1st International EarthCache (Mega) Event in Maine. Twelve states, (6 new ones) plus DC over 13 days. I'm very happy to have started this adventure. My walk around the mall started out with me tripped on the angled curb by the cross walks. Got just a tiny raspberry on my left hand. Saw so much today and missed even more. My favorite view would be here when the trees are in bloom. Will have to come back to just visit the museums. Today started out with some rain which stopped after an hour. Then clouds until the early evening when the heavy rains started. TFTVC
Find #2586:
This was the last of 15 virtual caches I did today in an effort to qualify for a challenge cache in New Hampshire. I had actually planned 26 but heat and blistered feet cut these plans short and by the time I left cache #14 I was ready to throw in the towel. But having worked so hard I didn't want to quit just one cache short. Unfortunately, with the 4th of July being tomorrow, lots of the grounds were fenced off and as I'm unfamiliar with the layout of DC, what is a simple location for some to find was a real challenge to an outsider. I had heard that that the MLK sculpture was completed but I had no idea what it looked like. In checking out a possible avenue to access the lantern, I decided to try passing through these giant white "gates", which turned out to be the starting point of the MLK sculpture itself. I was awestruck and regardless of how tired I was, I was going to study and enjoy the monument.
The MLK monument deserves its own virtual cache and it's a shame that Groundspeak doesn't currently allow new ones to be published, but having said all that, I was here for a reason and while scoping out MLK, I spotted a path along the water's edge that was calling out to me. I shouldered my pack and started to limp down what must be a beautiful cherry blossom-filled walkway during the right time of the year. At long last I saw my final prize appear about 70 feet away. I had done some pre-visit homework, my mission was not so much to hunt for information, but to confirm that what I found online was correct. The additional benefit of such preparation is that you have time to develope an appreciation for the monument and location. In this case, the particular item was simple and subdued, which makes sense when you consider where it came from. The many years that it has stood are far more that america itself and its simple, graceful beauty defies the ravages of time (unlike myself). Today was an awesome time in DC, seeing many interpretations of history and it was great to end it with what's the oldest monement of all the ones I'd seen.

TFTC Fourth find of 6 found on Father's Day 2012. Found at 1301 while enjoying a stroll on the National Mall.
MY second DC cache I will send answers this evening from a real computer. Gorgeous June day in the low 70's. Visiting from TN.
Logged as found in November 2010, but had a special TB I was taking on a tour of The Mall.
We emailed the years yesterday and I am posting the photo today. I wish I had been here to see the blossoms
What an awesome place this will be in a few weeks. It was pretty enough pre-cherry blossom season an afforded a view of the Jefferson Memorial through the trees. TFTC

Beautiful weather in DC, so sideseeing was on the program... found this cache quite well. TFTC dunestar
I was last at this spot about 40 years ago when my family was driving around North America in a Winnebago and we camped in the parking lot here for a week!. TFTC!
Jeanne and I stopped by here today as we explored Washington, DC on foot. It's always interesting to learn a little something at each stop. Answers emailed - thanks for setting up this virtual cache!
Thanks for this, it looked like it was going to be obvious but turned out to be slightly less so. Loved the views from here.
Beautiful spot for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here (answer are already in email).
Of course we knew about the cherry trees, but didn't know this bit of history. Thanks for marking the spot. Info sent. Photo posted.
Hi from Atlanta. It was awesome to see the marker here. Posting pic, emailing answer. Thanks!
A gorgeous warm spring day and doing a few virtuals in the Mall among the crowds of the Cherry Blossom Festival. Pretty old cherry trees, and still blossoming well. Lovely poem. Thanks Trevelyans, email sent, and I will post a photo when I get it off my phone.
I almost did not come over here, but I am glad I did, the sight of all those blossoms was amazing. Thanks.

This was cache number 15 on the day for Mrs SeeKPeeKRs and I. We were on a "Virtual Tour" of DC. We ended up picking up 25 caches today as well as walking just under twelve, yes 12, miles. We enjoyed the area. It was my first time here actually. When I come to DC I usually stay more towards the Mall. Thanks for keeping this one going. (email sent)
