Found it during the walk grom the waterfall to Waitangi. We enjoyed the walk very much. TFTC
A nice hike through the Magroven Forest. The Steek was under water, but only on the outward tour. On the way back from the waterfall the water level was 1/2 m lower.
We were happy to search for this cache on our way back to Waitangi. We could find it after a short search.
On the way back to Waitangi, we were able to locate this cache. As this cache is D1, T1.5, we would never have expected it in the place where it finally was.

TaurusSix and I are in New Zealand for a three weeks holiday. We love New Zealand and have had lots of wonderful experiences here previously. This time we have decided to focus our attention on three destinations for one week each, all in the North Island. The Coromandel Peninsula, Waiheke Island and The Bay of Isles. We are very mindful of not focusing all our attention of the holiday on geocaching, however it will still play an important part. We are deliberately focusing on caches that involve some walking, great views, interesting attractions , history and general points of interest. And this will all happen in between exploring, swimming , walking, doing touristy things and relaxing .

Day 19 - Of our New Zealand trip and we are here in the beautiful Bay of Isles. The weather continues to be very very wet and windy. With low visibility. However we are not letting this spoil our time here. Today after a leisurely morning we decided to explore all around Paihia collecting geocaches along the way. We ended up walking to Lookouts, headlands and waterfalls and all in all it was very enjoyable. Given the weather we were surprised at how many people were out and about and were regularly having to wait for muggles before we could retrieve a cache. We ended up with eight geocaches for the afternoon.

This was our sixth cache find of the day and we really enjoyed the walk. We were in hope that we might spot a kiwi but no such look, there were lots of other bird life though to keep us entertained with their chirping. We were surprised how many muggles were out along this track given the weather so we let a couple of groups walk past us so we could take our time to search for the cache . Great location for a cache and it was not long before we had cache in hand. Thanks for the cache Fullofun

Day 2 of the tiki tour with Mrs NZ Travellers and we had eyed this one up yesterday but decided dinner was callingâŠ..turns out that was the right decision. Today we accessed this from the Waitangi end and it was a much longer (but very pleasant) walk than we were expecting.
Upon arrival at GZ I swung down like Tarzan holding onto the fencing for a super quick find. Handed it up to Mrs NZT for signing, all returned and we were off back to the car. We almost halved the time back to the carâŠdinner was calling!
Thanks for the cache.

After a busy morning in Kerikeri walking parts of the river walk and then after lunch taking a siesta we decided to finish in the evening with a few more caches around haruru and waitangi. This was our last cache of the day and we parked outside the gate to make sure we didnât accidentally get locked in. Walked to GZ and made a quick find. A 1 1/2 hour round trip from the treaty grounds end. Glad we knocked this one off and the find was straight forward. TFTC!
1398. 1:13 pm. Great idea. The cache was very difficult to turn and even harder to close. Thankfully I was upright and prepared to continue my walk as several muggles rounded the bend. FP. TFT(dry weather)C.
On a hunt for more old caches with evilC. We were having a good discussion and almost missed gz... Then we searched for a bit until it all fell into place... More adventurous than one would expect based on the ratings. TFTC!!
Walking from the falls to Waitangi. First couple of attempts at this failed but then I decided to take the path less traveled! Nice find - gets a favorite from me. TFTC.
It was a little hard to find.but after looking for a bit we found it.
Hint :you will go over it a lot.

Decided to walk the Haruru track from the falls. Been a lot of rainy weather lately so the falls had a great flow. Luckily not to much rain that we got wet.

Quick and easy find for is today - but we would have gotten very wet had it been raining!

Nice cache along a beautiful sunset walk, thanks for the placement, no pen to sign it logbook dry and in good condition.
Last day in Paihia and our host at the B&B drove us to the falls so we could walk back to Paihia. A nice walk in good weather.
The cache was found quickly, no risk to get wet today.

Finally our trip to New Zealand is real! We started with half a day in Singapore and then we continued to New Zealand before finalizing the trip with 2 days in Sydney.
We have been able to see a lot, fantastic nature, many different and new birds and also a "few" geocaches.
Thanks a lot for the cache - Greetings from Sweden!

A great hike showed me the surroundings of Paihia... a beautiful place.
With a little detour I could walk to all the cans.
This also belonged to it.
Thanks for this cache says Pöni.

Berrydehamster and me are travelling in New Zealand for three weeks. We cross the country from north to south and back again by campervan, see a lot, do a lot, visit lots of places and meet a lot of people. Itâs nice to be here and we have a great time.
As both of us are geocachers, we find a lot of caches on our travels. This is one of the caches we found. Thanks for your cache, Hairy Little Dwarf, that helped give us a wonderful time here.

NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to New Zealand for 3 weeks. In Auckland we rent a camper. We start on the North island and driving to the south to make the crossing to the South island. Here we make a round and then take the boat back to the North Island. A long trip, but a very beautiful one! We do and see a lot on our way.........âŠ
In addition to being a tourist, we are also going to cache along the way. The virtuals and earth caches are often on tourism places. If we have a long day of traveling, we stop for some caches.
It were great weeks!

DNF. looked for ages but gave up because too many muggles on this beautiful walking track.
What a wonderful hike to discover the beauty of the mangrove forest. Thanks for the cache, Team Morodin.
We had been visiting the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, and now we wanted to spend the remaining time before dusk with hiking and to see the mangrove swamp. We enjoyed the walk through the rainforest - even more so since it was already rather late and so we were almost alone there. We walked until we had reached the end of the bridges through the mangroves, and then due to the late hour we had to walk back. On our way back we looked for this cache, and after a bit of searching we could find it. A nice hiding place (for the remainder of our holidays in New Zealand, whenever we crossed a boardwalk, we speculated whether there was a cache hidden close by)!
Thanks for the cache and best regards from Germany

Today was the third day of our trip to the Bay of Islands region. After touring around Kerikeri yesterday, todays plan included Paihia and Russel with the surrounding areas. After driving from Kerikeri to Paihia in the morning we stop at the Haruru Falls and Mt. Bledisloe lookout before we parked at the Waitangi end of the track. My friend stayed at the car and ate her luch. I made my way along the path to GZ. I walked around 1.5km one way. Once at GZ I found a plastic bag laying on the ground between a few rocks. It turned out to be a replacemend log. I continued to search the area and soon had the cache in hand. I signed the log and placed the plastic bag I found in it as well. I made my way back to the car where my muggle friend was already waiting for my returne so we could continue our travels. Tftc.
Such a beautiful track! I didnât get wet luckily but a bit dirty! A near disaster when I dropped the catch and everything went everywhere but luckily not in the water. TFTC
On a road trip north, enjoying the day and pic up some caches. TFTC

I looked for this cache on the walk to Haruru Falls from the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, and after 10 minutes of slipping around I couldn't find it!
I decided to have a second look on the walk back and this time was more systematic in my searching. I eventually got just the right place and angle to spot it.
The cache lid was on very tight and it took me a minute or two to open it, but I wasn't giving up now, and soon the log was signed and replaced.
I only got one wet foot, but the rocks were very green and slippery.
Thanks for placing and maintaining such an old cache on a really nice walk.

Another hiking day for D4nielB and me. Today on the Waitangi track and back via Bledisloe lookout. We took the chance to look for some caches of course.
It took us a while to find this one but finally we were successful.

Today Jul1ane and me did the Waitangi Track in Waihia plus a return via Bledisloe Mountain north of the track. On our hike we of course also tried to find some caches.
Here we had to search a bit, until we found the container. Fortunatly it didn't rain enough yesterday to get wet feet...

OK from Par4#15 we walk back to the road and across the golf cours on the other side. Still not many golfer about thankfully. Bush bashed through the trees to find the track to GZ. Love this bit of native forest. Ok Im laying on rocks under the boardwalk signing this log and Im still dry. Cheers
Saturday - day fifteen - Leaving Kerikeri today for Whangarei , with the whole team on board.
Its another epic 3+ week geocaching adventure with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and William to the Far North. What an amazing place to explore. Lots of walks, gravel roads and sand. Lots of amazing trees, beaches and interesting POIs. Lots of kilometers traveled by vehicle and foot. Vehicle breakdowns, making new friends and catching up with old friends and family. Snagged a couple of FTF's, lots of lonely caches and the odd event along the way. Lots of cache maintenance and replaced caches on this trip. But what an incredible adventure!!. Thanks to all the CO's who have made this trip so memorable..

Under the boardwalk is... another boardwalk! actually, it's kinda short - I prefer to use "bridge". Under the bridge is... another bridge! We bushbashed to the track from the golf course and then backtracked and bushbashed back to the golf course as the car was somewhere way up there. Somewhere.
Day fifteen of an awesome, tiring, long, three week holiday geocaching with Taybeedragon in the upper north. Today: Paihia and Whangarei. The whole trip comprised of hours of walking on sand, sliding down sand dunes, hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads, car breakdowns, paddling out to islands, lighthouses, dolphins, goats, events, FTFs, weird boulders. You name it, we saw it. Lots of bisons, lots of cache maintenance, lots of sunscreen. A month is enough. I am glad to be back home. Except that now I have to write up my trip. We averaged just 20 caches per day, but that is still a lot of logging!
Merry Christmas from the Seagnoid!

TFTC... a nice easy walk to GZ. Knew instantly on approaching where to look! Definitely a beautiful place to shake off any stress. So many birds calling and natural surrounds.
Walked from Waitangi wharf where our tangata whaiora are fishing.
Didn't see any TBs though??
Nicely placed... and thanks for the coffee... left someone to guard the cache.

After our morning adventure around the Bay of Islands, we were up for some hiking. We decided to explore the Haruru Falls Walking Track, since it was fairly close to our hotel in Waitangi. It was amazing how the vegetation changed throughout. The mangrove boardwalk and the waterfalls at the end were beautiful!
We found the nicely hidden container and lucky for us, there was only a trickle of water flowing nearby. Thanks for maintaining this cache and bringing us to a beautiful area!

wow, such an old cache, and still alive and i was curious about it.
so today i headed actually to Paihia , actually, the detour was worth it.
mangroves and birds and a weather which was stable (after a morning rain, therefore, yessss, the rocks were sssssslippery
GZ was found well, though my GPS (which is an iphone) showed a couple more meters off, the words of the Dwarf told differently
utterly enjoyed it

Made the trip up from Whangarei today to go on a parasailing adventure and even though the conditions were a bit windy, that just probably made it more exciting.
Afterward, what was a cacher to do, but head out and look for some unfound caches. This old one was definitely on the list, as it filled an empty spot in my grid for month placed.
Decided to park up at the golf club and then walked on down to the track around the edge of the estuary. Once at the obvious GZ, my GPS was telling me 30 metres further to go, but I ignored it's advice and made a quick find in the hint location. Cache still in good condition. I wonder if this is still the original 2003 container..??
Picked up the ducky TB to take on further travels. Signed the log and replaced all safe and secure for the next finder. TFTC

TFTC. Awesome little cache was a fun hide. Didnt have anyone else pass by. Rocks can be a little slippy be careful. Look for a bridge not a boardwalk and bring a pen.

Nice morning walk through native bush. The cache was at the obvious place.

Speedy walk from the upper car park and we found a gap in the passers by to find, sign and replace. Is this a boardwalk? Iâd call it a bridge! TFTC
