ASHES, that is all that is left plus the metal (sharpener blade, spiral from notebook etc). I've included a photo of ground zero but the fire that happened earlier in the week must have been intense. Archiving might be the go.
This cache has been destroyed by a bush fire on 03 December 06 and regeneration of the area will take some time.
Great start to the weekend. took foam headphones left vet pen.TFTH. Sorry wrong date was Friday.
A nice walk in this great park. Easy find. Better get back to York where we are staying for the Australian Orienteering Champs. TFTC
Found whilst in the area - see log for "Whiteman Park" for reason why I was here.
Had a ball finding this one, managed to drag the family thru the bush only to find there was a path that lead us close, but the kids had a ball walking along the track and getting a close up of the trains. Took:Transformer figurine Left: Iceage2 slide SL T4TH
It was a race against time as I searched for the cache on my bike during twilight. I ended up cycling through the bush and several sand tracks when I got lost but found the cache and my way out just before darkness set in.
Easy find, watched a train pass by before I grabbed the cache, I wonder if there is ever a full sixty seconds go by without the driver blowing the whistle? LOL

The train rumbled past and we worked out we would love to shove the horn up the driver where its nice and dark.
Found cache quickly and were exteremely disapointed that we had a big lunch as we had no room for icecream on the way out.

Pushing on from "Lightning Strike" I decide to include a couple of the Whiteman Park caches and take a look at the venue of the proposed Christmas event cache.
Thinks have changed (for the better) quite a bit here since I last visited. What a great park! A good venue for an event cache.
Plenty of people around enjoying the fine day but had a muggle free approach to the cache.
Took: Carabiner clip.
Left: PaddyK Geocaching stamp.

We did this one after a long day out with the kids. They were tired and asleep in the car with their Mom while I quickly dashed off to find the cache. It seems like most of the people on holiday was at the northern side of the park. Very enjoyable walk without any geomuggles.
Thanks for a great cache!
Thanks for a great cache!
This one has been on my to-do list for a while as it is so close to work - but why did I pick school holidays?
Anyway, I avoided the crowds and had a pleasant walk.

Found the spot easily but were surrounded by muggle surveying students! Crept in and found the cache. The Crew made lots of swaps. Took TB Tigger Left TB Dune Rat
We enjoyed the day out with 26 family and friends(including Ewoks). We had lunch in the nearby picnic area then most of us walked to find cache. Thanks for putting a cache here and giving us a reason to visit Whiteman Park. Took lots, Left lots(there were quite a few kids) Also left TB Tigger Loves Caches.
Celebrated Leanne's (3 generations)birthday with beautiful weather on a public holiday and a little bit of treasure hunting. I think our kids took lipgloss and zebra and left other bits and pieces as the train passed by. Thanks for the cache.
Found this just before the train went past at 12noon great hiding place took photos of train. Took pony & left keyfinder keyring Thanks
This was an excellent location, a good walk and easy access. Nice to take the whole family. T4TH -Team Nolan
The box had perished from sun exposure. Cache box replaced and replenished. Go getm!
It was a nice day for a walk, so we started from The Village, and headed along the paths, past some of the amazing bits of landscaping. The monitors obviously realized that we were not trying to escape, so we had not trouble with Rover...oh, sorry. Wrong "Village".
Anyway, we reached the cache after watching the end of the Raptor Flight demo that was being held. (An amazing sight - try to see it! 2:30, weekends) We spent about 10 minutes searching all the really good hiding spots, until Rob turned around, and saw the cache just by his feet!
The cache, alas, has a badly damaged lid, and was 1/4 full of water. We emptied it, and dried most of the contents out, but some things were beyond saving, as mould or corrosion has set in. The items that could be saved we placed in the cache info bag, except for some plastic items that would not be damaged.
Took: Notepad
Left: Linux CD
Removed: Mouldy phone cover & stuffed toy, rusty pedal, rusty superglue, melted candle.
We have replaced the cache upside down to let it drain if it rains again, but we recommend that the container be replaced.
Still, it was a good hunt, and we got to ride the train back!
Thanks Suba-Roo!

The cache is being taken offline for a few days so that the cache box can be refurbished and repaired offsite. Hopefully back online by father's day!

Found at 3.50PM. It was lovely area and I enjoyed to walk the path. TNLNSL. Thanks for the hunt - SubaRoo
Found 5.20 pm, while surrounded by kangaroos at dusk...wonderful. Good time to go as no muggles (school holidays). Good hidey spot. Geokid took ball; left notebook. Thanks for this cache.
My first one v.happy found it easy.Signed log took H.P cards left small electronic game.
I've been caching on the railroad, all the live-long daaaaaay.
We tromped around in the rain for a bit, and found a muggle-cache nearby addressed to "Mum and Dad". Not wanting to know it's content, we continued on to the coords we were given, where Papa Bear_Left polarised his radar in the direction of the plastic fantastic.

We parked a little distance away and walked a large circle to get there, where Papa Bear overshot (usual Meridian behaviour) then turned around to see the cache quite clearly!
The Dutch blood must've sated the ticks as we never noticed any, so Mindsocket and Papa Bear quickly signed the log in the light rain and went chuffing up the track to the next one!

This is a cache we are not going to forget easily. We walked from 'Whiteman park' in a straight line. It was a nice walk and the cache was found easily. After writing the log i looked down.......... ticks [:o] not one or two but more like 50 or 60. Very small, and crawling all over our shoes, socks and legs trying to get to a nice warm spot of skin. It took us about an hour to remove them all. It was horrible! We must have hit tick-city! The cache place itself was nice though, and the walk back along the railroad was fine too! Thanks.
Found it.
We brought our bikes to Perth especially to do some cycling around the parks etc. Since we havent cycled in Whiteman Park and Geo-terriers are allowed we thought this would be a wonderful place away from the crowds. We were right - even though it was school holidays the only place the crowds where gathered where around the "village green" area. We had the picnic spot all to ourselves!
We really enjoyed cycling the 8klms or so around the park and the two caches we hadnt already found made it an added bonus.

The "Travel Tiger" TB is actually in "What's the Point?" but I didn't record it's number when I spotted it so I can't virtually move it.
Another quick find! Dropped off the Travel Tiger TB to start his travels! The cache could use a new plastic zip-lock bag for the log book...
Found at 5:45pm. This one was a little tricky....very good hiding spot. Saw some big roo's hoppin around havin dinner...Lovely afternoon for it...Thanks for the hunt

...last cache for the day. We've walked from the "What's the point" and were very impressed with the railway bridge... It was a bit of a challenge for Ethan (3), but he managed it like a big boy.
Second for the day. Walked from "What's the Point" and found this one at 13:50, again without too much trouble.

Found at 1655. This is the third and last of the Whiteman Park 'threefer'. Like the other two, it was an easy find, and the container is a nice large one.
I dropped off T4 - Tiny Toot travel bug, which wants to visit railways. It should feel at home in this park.
Thanks for the three caches. I wish I were here on a weekend, because it looks like it would be a great park when everything is operating.
IN: T4 - Tiny Toot TB
OUT: Fisherman's Friend tin

This was our first cache as we are newbies.
Took our 10 month old son and went in the afternoon.
It was magic, lots of kangaroos. We were walking in the bush (had to carry bubs) just to find out there was a path a couple of meters away..
Didnt take us too long to find, we took the Toy Story cowboy (our little boy seemed to really like it), also took Sylvester the TB. Will take him to the northern hemisphere next month.
We left Birdie.
Its great, had a wonderful time. Afternoons are great in Whiteman park, all the wildlife comes to life.

The third cache of the day here in Whiteman Park. Wow, this cache is full of great stuff, now. Dropped off TB Ulster Slyvester, what a cute TB! Also left a tile game, different coloured paths have to match up, kids will love it. ALSO left Dr. Scholls Foot Powder, for those stinky feet, and mobile phone case that we picked up from the other cache, the zipper is broken, c'mon guys! Slyvester had a party last night so he needs a rest but can somebody take him back to Ireland?

I decided to tackle the three Whiteman park caches on bike.
I parked the car at the main parking area and set off to find this on first. I rode down and found it with out to much searching, I traded a couple of items and set off along the train track to get the next one.
cache is in good condition
thanks for the start of a good day

I found it today. It was great. I took the dog. Hot day today but nevertheless I still found it. Thanks very much Ruff 'n' Tuff[8]
Found cache quite easily, soaring heat was a distraction. Can hear the crickets!!! Took dog-ball - left LCD clip watch and card. Second cache for the day. 16:30
Dropped off a traindriver for the day and went geocaching. Nice walk to start the day. Left a Tiki and took Birdie
Found this Cache quite easily with Shane, a new GeoCaching addict * grins * ... took screwdriver set and left our calling card plus something (sorry, alzheimers!) Co-ords were spot on .. thanks, The Trekkers
Found easily with the Geo-Sister in tow this time. Geo-Mother was left back in the Jackaroo.
Took a shoulder strap and left a screwdriver set.

Great spot, found easy. This area is worthy of at least five caches, then you could go up there with the bikes, have a BBQ and then go caching.Never been here before and are now planning a day up here. Thanks for showing us this great area.

Took Shower Gel & sticky lion
Left Yellow Duck purse & Mouth organ
Also moved Bowhead Travel bug to this site for a visit.
We didn't start from the closest carpark but it was a nice bridge to cross & we enjoyed the walk.

Found with Devar.. Nice place.. Walk back along the Train lines, Its amazing to see how the signals and Rail Mech Worked back in its day
User's web page
What a great hiding spot! Also a really awesome day for caching.
Took the Sennheiser parts and left a bobblehead.
As wot said, we did walk back along the railway (no trains running) and had a really good look at how all the bits worked. The signals have wire running all the way back to the control house! It's amazing how it was all controlled before electricity and hydraulics!
Up bright and early.... er well, so it was early and wet but we trekked through the bush, fended off ferocious kangaroos and dodged spider's webs enroute for the railway line where lay our prize. The travel bug Gekko is a fine piece of wrought silver heh! heh! and we plan to plant him in our newest cache coming soon. Thanks! Whiteman Park is a beautiful place at best and like it was this morning with rainbows over head it was heaven. We left a collapsing doll...you press the button underneath.
5.00pm Found it quickly and perfectly in the perfect weather. That's great location and we always love the bush. TN and left a golden lion. Noted there were some patchy fire burnt and cutting trees nearby along the railway. Luckily it didn't include the cache site. Saw several roo's nearby at the dusk Thanks, SubaRoo
Found it at 1.30pm. Great place for a cache site and never knew Whiteman Park was so big. Pays to be careful that know one on train sees you or anyone walking along the path which nearly happened to us. Took the Supa Glue and left some small toys
11:45 am. We were on our way to revisit the Duckstien Brewery (for food and a couple of bevies) in Middle Swan area, so it seemed logical to pass by here and do a bit of exercise. We parked 450 meters from the location because it seemed like an Ok distance to walk. The way in was mostly across parkland until the last 150 meters. then it was an easy walk though open bushland until the cache location. We overshot the cache by 40 meters but as the GPS averaged we narrowed the area down. We placed the coordinates as close enough to find it, so as previously said, TRUST YOUR GPS.
We added the watch bracelet we had collected from a previous cache and took the Spoon fridge magnet.
By the way it turned out to be a perfect day for a beer and a sit in the beer garden at Duckstien Brewery, we recommend it. Lyn Pat and Nathan.

Tricky one this!!!! Lots of hollow logs and you need to look carefully. Trust the GPS.
Kids took lollies and a toy kangaroo and this was replaced with a fridge magnet and candle.
Warm day for walking.
