We keep planning to get out to replace the cache but life gets in the way. Feel free to drop a replacement if you have one. Thanks.

Couldnt find this one unfortunately.

Sand is a key factor here. We searched everywhere w the hopes of finding it and dig around in bushes. Sadly, nothing. Attached (and in the notes) are the bushes we checked. Owner please check this and find a suitable location for the cache.

I really want to keep this cache alive and this DNF broke my heart

31-Dec-23
Sadly I did not have a container but if I come around next I will bring one. Please do not archive and keep this amazing cache alive!

Many Thanks to team. Bella at Waggy. For replacing our cache container that seems to have been lost under the drifting sand. We appreciate the assistance.
We have been thinking of options to make the cache less prone to drifting sand and will try to make something suitable. We have a few ideas and will start the construction soon.
We will also go check it out next time we drive past.
Cheers for all the finds and sorry for those that missed finding the cache. All our caches are made to found easily.

12-Aug-22
Heading north and grabbing a few select caches along the way. We had a 4WD so made good use of it for this one. Lovely beach and views. A good search at GZ and then read the logs so dropped in a replacement as suggested. (Only had a small). TFTC

07-Jun-22
After many years use possible the sand dunes have moved far enough to cover the cache.
It someone has a metal detector it may be possible to find it.
Otherwise if it is missing then it will be buried.
It's ok to drop a replacement cache of you have one with you. Just weigh it down with a rock and it's a very windy part of the coast.

05-Jun-22
Lexiloooo and mildandcob are keen surfers, so it was off to Wedge and along the beach to find some waves; this cache happened to be located along the way, but we failed to find anything after a prolonged and wide search - this section of dunes no longer resembles the pictures in the gallery.

28-Oct-20
Headed for a small caching trip today with C10 with the main goal of finding “elusive location” just north of Lancelin, which is one of the oldest caches in WA, and helps towards a challenge we are working on “over qualifying” for.

We managed to snag the main goal and on the way home decided the legs needed a workout so stopped off for a few finds.

Thanks to the COs for the fun.

The weather forecast was not great but we packed the swags and took off for a couple of nights Smile We had a great time darting all over the place adding to our tallies. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these cachesSmile.

I have been looking for a chance to come up to Jurien Bay and surrounds to claim some of the older caches in the area. I mentioned my very rough plans to jinta29, and before long we had set aside this weekend to make the trip.

Nice and windy this arvo on my first trip in to Wedge.

TFTC Lyn Pat and Nathan.

Lyn Pat and Nathan, I found your cache Elusive Location on 9/07/2016.
This is my find #2866 and find #29 today.

Found it on a beautiful day out on the beach, 4WD-ing, swimming and enjoying the views.
It took a bit to spot the green box in the bush, but I cannot complain.

Wow! You were not joking when you said the beach was hard! I've never driven on such hard sand! I'm considering putting the car into two wheel drive for the drive back... Just to see if I can! Lucky I didn't bother to let the tires down! I had not visited Wedge before. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to visit, by placing the cache here. TFTC

We thought we would check on this cache as we where nearby picking up washed up rubbish off the beach and noted no one had found it for nearly a year.

The cache is in location and in good condition and the contents nice and dry.

28-Dec-13
First find of the day, was quicker than anticipated, think we were nervous because of the name of the cache! Beautiful area.

08-Oct-13
This was probably one of our hardest to get to caches we have completed. As we got to Wedge Island community the beach was closed due to the erosion on the beach from the recent storms.
So what to do? Drive a little inland and up over the dunes? We let our tyres down and took the tracks and dunes to an area about 300m from the cache. There was one time the dunes nearly got us as we nearly drove down drop offs. The wind was blowing and the dunes all looked flat as they meshed into one dune, or that's what it looked like. After the find we made our way back, trying to follow our tracks in but most of them had been covered over already.
So a great adventure and for the adventure we give the cache a favourite point.
Thanks Lyn, Pat and Nathan. The cache is in good condition.

29-Jun-13
At last we got back up here to replace the cache.
The original container has turned to dust.
The bushland has changed a lot over the years. The sand moves around and the bushes grow.
We moved the cache about 1m to the left of the old cache location and replaced it with a new AMMO Box.
Its is a camouflaged AMMO box so it may be hard to spot in the bushes
If you feel it needs to be moved slightly because you had trouble finding it we are OK with that but dont move it more than 1m from the GPS GZ.

01-May-13
All wet! Did the usual swap!

TFTF, cache had an inch of water in it. Drained water, replaced soggy items and placed book and bag at the top. Needs new container and bag. TNLN

30-Mar-13
Nice easy drive to GZ. TFTH.

30-Mar-13
Drove up the beach from South Rocks. Fortunately the sand was firm and we had no trouble making it to gz. Lots of muggles enjoying the beautiful Easter weather. The icecream container is not holding up and the lid is cracked - needs replacing urgently. Would suggest next cacher in bringing a more suitable container.

& then had to stop , explain our action. Smile

Coordinates changed from:
S 30° 47.963 E 115° 11.505

Coordinates changed to:
S 30° 47.962 E 115° 11.505

Distance from original: 5.8 feet or 1.8 meters.

Just a slight change of coodinates to reflect the growth of the bushes. It should still be easy to find.

Nice quick find on New Years Day. We took couple of friend's kids with us to find the treasure and they loved it. All kids wanted to take something, so we took: Dumbo book, Pepsi key ring, plastic car, and soap and left: 2 soldiers earrings and necklace. Co-ords have changed slightly as bush is significantly larger since cache was first placed. I have added coords to this log. Thanks Lyn Pat and Nathan!

31-Dec-11
Found on New Year's Eve. This could be close to the oldest cache I have found. It is quite an easy find as long as you have a 4wd to get you up the beach and some closed in shoes for the last bit of the journey. TFTC, I really liked this one!

26-Dec-11
Has been a few years since I was last at Wedge. Stopped off and had a cuppa with some old friends who still live here, then headed off down the beach to snap a couple of pics - beach was hard and wide, easy drive to the point. Stopped here and had an icy cold beer with another couple of Wedge locals. Then drove north along the beach to the latitude adjacent to this cache, which is just over a small dune or two, easy walk. Other cachers shouldn't be put off by this one. Took Goofy figurine, left Dumbo book. TFTC

interesting area. well glad i made the trek out here. had to watch ou for quad bike muggles though. TFTC

This one was rather tricky to find as it was very overgrown and was actually a couple of meters to the north due to the fact that the tree has grown heaps since the cache had origanally been placed. We replaced the container as it was old and brittle.
We have driven right passed this one many times as we have been going Wedge for years prior to getting into geocaching.

Found on a three day trip up the beach from Lancelin to Cervantes. This is our fourth cache by Pat Lyne & Nathan. Got a bit stuck in the sand hills near the cache.Took about one hour to get mobile.

29-Apr-09
We came up to the cache from Lancelin and I must say it was a long arduous drive. We were looking forward to continuing on to the Pinnacles for sunset. We arrived about midday, found the cache easily and went back to the car for some lunch. After a body surf and making a few sand castles we confirmed with a passing local that you could indeed get to Cervantes along the beach. He suggested we should "wait until the arvo when the tide was a bit lower" As it was already after lunch we headed off. After several km the beach joined the sand dunes and given that we were towing a Jayco pop top we headed up into the dunes following one of the many tracks. After some distance we got to the top of a dune with a massive drop off and spent quite some time reversing out. We decided that rather than get stuck in the dunes or in the sea we would drive back to Lancelin. TFTC and the adventure.

Found on trip down from Jurien via Wedge Island etc. Found Ok. With six little caches (Team Evans was with us)around it doesn't take long. Just looked at the photo's. That bush has certainly grown a LOT!

Our first cache for the day, we spent 20 minutes searching near the cache area before finally spotting the container. Took a small car and left some bubble mixture. TFTC

16-Jun-08
Until arriving here, I wasn't sure who the owner was - now I have the last of their finders cards (thanks Pat). The cache is in fair condition - the lid didn't appear to be tightly closed, and there was a little sand and some (very) small ants in the cache.

This is the 3rd find out of three today, with some great 4wd'ing in between. T: Geocoin, L: keyring, SL. Thanks go to Lyn, Pat and Nathan for the cache.

Well we decided to try and get to this one from Jurien and Cervantes. Quiet an interesting trip with the rocks dunes and washouts... Didn't think we were going to make it at one stage when we were bogged in the dunes about 3km short of Wedge Island but after an hour of diggin and chewing sand we were free. Took 4wd geocoin and neopet card, left toy car.

We have a shack up in Wedge so this one was on the cards to find. My GPS took us within about 2 metres of this one and after a quick search found it in about 1 minute. Plastic bag was disintegrated but the container that it's in is still in a VGC. Will pop back and put it into another plastic bag in a week or two. The beach has been good between Lancelin and Wedge but if you don't know the area be aware that most of the shack locals jump on at Narrow Neck and no earlier when heading up to Wedge. If you want to head up there for the day or to camp make sure you call the Lancelin Defence Training Area caretaker. He'll let you know range closure dates and times and in many instances will be able to give you an idea on the beach conditions as the track to Wedge is at times slow and painful. Good luck and thanks guys for the cool location. Left the Geocoin this time around but will grab it when we do the plastic bag thingy so that it can be relocated again to another cache. Heading down south soon so it could be on its way down to Harvey in the next three weeks. Smile

Looked & looked, but no find today. The pics tell me I was in the right spot so I hope it's still there. Last time I was here was 13 years ago, so hopefully I'm back before then. TFTCSL

It was nice and easy to drive along the beach in the perfect day with a nice breeze - with smooth sea. Lots of people were on the beach sitting watching the sea, fishing, or driving up to north towards Grey. We have been to Wedge Island a few times and it has been a long time ago since our last visit. Mr Varuna's son built the shack there and was formerly frequently tripper. It was sold to a professional fisherman. Found the shack is still in good condition. It was a good memory and had a great time there. Parked the truck on the beach near the cache. Found it nicely. I cant remember what we have left except took the card. Had a look at TLC's geocoin and left it for next cacher or TLC himself Wink. Thanks to LPN for bringing us to the cache and great location.

08-Jul-06
We were on a day out and were able to pick up this cache.

No swaps thanks for the cache.

08-Jul-06
Found with ease but I was momentum challenged on the beach much to the delight of Belken who was following. Did not take long to rectify and was again on our way.

Dropped TLC Coin TFTH

08-Jul-06
We have never liked the beach south of Wedge and with the tide only just receding the narrow strip of land left didn't look inviting. Then when SueDenHarr slid down to the high water mark and had to do some serious work to get back up we decided to rock and roll our way via the inland route.

The container was buggered so we swapped with a bigger plastic box we had in the car. We took out some things that had perished and left some tazo toys and other stuff.

Thanks for the cache.

Came through from The Pinnacle cache last night. Stopped just south of Grey, and was awoken to a swarm of bees around the car and swag. Nice drive(expect for the dodgy track) along the coast and beach. Found cache easily after cooking breakfast on the beach. Left keyring and took the Stanley knife.

Found at 14:12. We cached it on a trip from Lancelin to the Pinacles. The drive on the beach is just beautiful! Took English tile, left cutter.

Cool On a weekend trip to Wedge for the usual fishing, swimming, 4WDing, motor bike riding etc. Decided to introduce our son to the joys of Geocaching and it was a good excuse for a drive/ride up the beach. Found it no problems. Took the CD and left some coffee.

Well as you've heard, we found this GeoCache with our fellow RevHeads GeoCachers (Bitsumishin, Infamous 5 and HayWat) on the Wedge Island trip with our 4WD club ... been looking forward to finding this cache as haven't been that active of late .. you know, Life happens! Took nothing, left earplugs and calling card. Took pics too but as other's have uploaded theirs, won't waste your time either!

Warm regards, The Trekkers.

Aaah, it has been a long time coming: this latest find. Since the caches found stats site went down and a lost cache we haven't been that active. However a trip along the beach to Wedge Island with a crowd of eager mates made this one a dead cert to add to a day of fun in the dunes. Was amused to find a CD I had left in a cache somewhere in Perth here. The "mates" teased me about you guys not liking it either. The cache was a fine find, spot on and in good nick. Took nothing and left words in the log book. Thanks.

27-Apr-03
Went for a drive on Sunday to Wedge island, decided to check on cache's in the area before we left, and we got lucky as there was a cache very close to where we were going. The co-ordinates were spot on, it was very easy to find.
I took the CD out of the cache, and played a little bit of it in the car, Soon realized why it had been put in there. So I took nothing and left nothing.

We drove up along the beach from Lancelin.
Wedge Island is great spot.
The cache was easy to find as the co-ordinates were spot on. We hung around a little while ate our picnic lunch before returning to Lancelin and a quick visit to the Endevour Pub for a Cold Beer.

Didnt have anything to do at 3am one morning so the logical thing to do was to go and get this cache! Was lots of fun none the less, if you are going with just one four wheel drive or taking a car I would try and find a map of the paths you are going to use first. And on the way back take advantage of your GPS's track back feature if you can we ended up taking the road less traveled on the way back.

Left nothing took nothing.
