To explore the island today we are going from the east coast to the west coast. We drive over the Arthur Pass through very varied landscapes. Sometimes the valley is narrow, sometimes it is wide. Then again we drive along a wide river delta. We see bare mountain slopes and then again forested mountains. So our tour is never boring. We choose a few caches along the way to search for and log.Earthcaches, labcaches and virtuals are also popular. This is an really old one. We give an Favoritenpoint. A big thank you to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi
On a business trip to NZ, but always make time for some caches. Today was my Birthday fun, so lots of caching to be done! All tucked away where it should be TFTC
This is a great spot to take a break from the driving. Found the cache easily. TFTC
What a fab place. Watched the cavers come out. Rather them than me if I was younger and fitter. Thanks.
I was half way back up the track after completing the cave walk with the fandam when I realised there was a cache I had missed so back down the track I went and started my search at the top - that was a little scary! Once I worked out where I was meant to be it was a very easy find. Thanks so much!
Found with Dali87 within our amazing trip around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M

Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. After 7 weeks driving around through Australia we arrived the 2th November in New Zealand. For ten days we will cross the Northern Island and than for 2 weeks the Southern Island.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case Sallies, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
After traveling around Australia with Oopie for 7 weeks, we have now been traveling with the camper in New Zealand for 4 weeks. Along the way we will of course also visit various types of caches in beautiful places, including this one. Thanks CO for creating and laying this cache.
A bright winter's day with fresh snow a few days ago was perfect for a visit to Castle Hill and Cave Stream. A fascinating area! Great to find that this older cache is still there to be identified. TFTC!
We're down in Christchurch for a few days and managed a day up in the mountains. Picked up quite a few different caches, and stopped here for a late lunch. We walked down to the cave mouth and then over to the exit, and collected these other two caches. So happy to collect this oldie, I can tick it off on my Jasmer challenge now! Great area, and a beautiful day for it in July. TFTC
Trouvée Didn’t feel like caving today, geocaching is enough ! But I will definitely be back
Had to wait for a hoard of cavers to go by before dashing for the cache. Picked the wrong geo path and had to wait for another lot to go by. Grabbed, signed and got the TB before a third lot came into view! Wow busy old Cave Stream, it's been a few years since I came though with my family - 35yrs ago I think! TFTC!
Beautiful discovery of this cave !! I wish a had the gear to explore it from start to end )
Tak jsem se dala do walk stream, no bohužel jsem byla sama a vysoká hladina vody a zdravý rozum mě pustil pouze do půl cesty, ale i tak to bylo super:) díky za kes na zajímavém místě:)
Took a break from the driving to go for a walk here. Wasn't in the first place I looked, but soon located. TFTC
Greetings from the Czech Republic and Thanks For This Cache.

Nice place! Last of the 4 stops to find the oldest caches on the Arthur's pass road. The overcast day made the loop walk a bit more bearable. Easy find of the cache and as a bonus my first geocoin find in years! Taking it to move it along. A favourite point from me.
After visiting the exit to the Cave stream adventure, I am now making my way to this cache
An amazing landscape, its just me here, it was only when I was climbing back up to the top, that I meet a muggle coming down.
Its late morning, and it is so hot.
Spotted a geo trail, and was soon at the cache.
Happy to be signing the log, thanks Sallies for the hide and the adventure.
Next time plan to return with rebel98 so we can walk thru the cave system

The cave is amazing but I found it too cold to walk though without a wet suit - maybe next time I'll be better prepared.
Thanks for the hide Sallies
Find recorded using GCDroid and logged using GSAK

Greetings from Queensland! We have 1 final full day in NZ so have come for a drive up to Arthur’s pass to check out the area.
We are heading back to Christchurch and we have a little bit of time to make some stops on the way back. Other than for food, this was the only stop the teenager got out of the car!
As we walked down to the cave, I was looking to see where this GZ might be. I saw 2 people sitting right in front of it and thought I hope they move in soon... then I saw them close a container and place it up in the spot I thought the cache would be! Yep, other cachers! Well good to know the cache is there!
After checking out the cave we came back and added our names to the log. Tftc

We are glad not to be trying the cave today as it's closed after a storm eroded it and made pools too deep. It was a tricky but good experience a few years ago.
A picture of the upper end of the cave, we could just see the last crawl and top of the ladder.

13 January 2022 13:37. A fascinating spot. Sadly not dressed or equipped Fri cave exploration, so left it at this one. TFTC Sallies
Found on a warm day with quite a lot of muggles around but not many near cache site. Tftc
After coming back from the Avoca Homestead trail of caches (left plenty to revisit the area) I thought I'd collect these. A really cool area, A nice thing about being new to the area is finding places like this through Geocaching. After collecting the information from the EC, I detoured here slightly to get this one. Cool rock formation!
TFTC Sallies, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 13 find(s) of 26 today, making this find #2805

Called in here to day to collect this old cache. Pleased to say it was an easy find. TFTC Sallies and maintaining all these years. What an awesome spot to stop at and visit/.
Holy moly! That was a little hard
we were looking way off the cache site.
But still fun

Have the week off and decided I would wait and see where there would be good weather and head off on a mini caching roadtrip... right now the west coast is looking great, so over I go. The FB post of a new Geotour coming out is very exciting and maybe that will help me decide where to go next.
Cache in good condition.

Wow such an old cache! Thanks for keeping it going.
Lots of UFOs around here - - - or maybe LUFOs (landed unidentified flying objects).
It was neat to visit this place. There were lots of other people here today, some had obviously explored the cave and others were about to.
Thanks very much for the cache .

Found after navigating through Cave Stream. We emerged wet and exhausted but I was still determined to find this cache. Very pretty rock formations that I didn’t properly appreciate until I had changed out of my wet clothes and warmed up a little. TFTC
Day 4 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
This is when it starts to get serious. Last night I had my first taste of freedom camping in the campervan. Having cached until it was dark, I had no real idea of where I was when I parked up last night, apart from simply knowing that the nearest township was Sheffield. But I awoke this morning to see that I had chosen a very quiet spot by a river. Two cups of coffee later and I was ready to get on my way again.
Today I was looking to finish up in Greymouth. I have never driven through Arthur's Pass before so that was going to be another first for me on this trip. Every so often I would stop to break up the drive whenever I saw somewhere of interest, and this was such a place.
Parking up, there were a few other folk around but no-one anywhere near this cache as I wandered over to look for it. Thanks to the great Hint, it was a very quick find. There were no issues with any aspect of this cache, so the log was swiftly signed and everything replaced exactly as found, and I was back on my way again after snapping off a couple of photos.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Just checking out the exit cave at Cave Stream. Its an amazing place to visit. Just have to come back and explore the cave. Then its off to this amazing UFO rock formation to get this one tagged. Cheers.
Its Saturday and we explored from Lake Lyndon to Coal Pit Spur Track. So lets go!!
Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

A nice little hide off the normal beaten track, and worthy of a favourite. Though I m not sure why. Probably just the *everything*.
Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

Easy find, in a beautiful setting, we will have to come back for the cave exploration at a later time.
Thanks for placing this here, both container and logbook were in good condition.

**Found on our February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
We stayed last night at Arthur's Pass, and spent the whole day caching and making our way slowly to Springfield.
After checking out the cave entrance of the stream, we wandered along to check out the UFO. We had seen the flying saucer shaped rock on our way down the hill (be hard to miss it!) The cache was found where expected. Thanks.

At my first day with a (rented) car in NZ I drove from Christchurch to Arthur's Pass and back to Amberley. I great roadtrip with stunning views! I also found a few caches. This was one of them. Here I had a really nice little walk. TFTC
As I walked down in search of the earthcache I spotted an interesting rock formation. And yes, there it was! TFTC and greetings from Scotland!
Grabbed this after getting 2/3 way through the cave only to be defeated by a waterfall.
After visiting the nearby Cave Stream we made a short walk to this cache. Good coordinates and additional hint saw us soon locate the container. TFTC
