Logs
I have checked the cache today after reading a could not find log.
Unfortunately the cache has been stolen - and even worse it had contained a travel bug. Its a real shame as this is my first cache that has deliberately been taken and I am a bit disappointed.
Cheers and good hunting

Couldn't find this cache Spent about half an hour scrabbling around in the rain trying to find it, but to no avail. We even decoded the hint, but the cache didn't appear to be there either.
Was going to swap a travelbug, but it will just have to stay in my pocket till next weekend now

#764 is our first cache find in New Zealand! Yay! “Jif” loves astronomy, so finding this cache site was especially fun for him! This was a nice place to explore, and we seem to be the first ones to find the cache in its new container. We took a little alien figurine and left a lock and key, and left the Moorea’s Lagoon travel bug, and we also took the Frodo Baggins travel bug and had him visit here, in honor of the Return of the King premiere! (drop off, then immediately take back.) Thanks for the fun cache!

Visited cache site on a business trip to Wellington.
Walked all the way up the hill from town, only to find clear signs of fresh concrete work and no sign of the cache.

I think this cache is gone. Due to a recent paint job the crack where the cache used to be hidden just disappeared.
They have done a lot of construction around this area and its hiding place may have gone
Neat spot, To think, I've walked past this one hundreds of times! I couldn't believe when my GPS told me to stop walking....
Logged with permission.
Good vantage point of the city, the ride up was great. Too bad the weather was not so nice otherwise I would have been able to see further.

My First Cache! Set out to find it after work, so I didn't want to take too long. After some preliminary bush searching I used the clue.
A crafty hide! The cache is extremely small and it barely had room for the 10-Base-T connecter I left. The cache is kinda crusty with dirt, but the contents were clean.
The builders were leaving while I checked the cache, so I hung around till they were gone, then I ducked into the construction site to get the answer to the question.

I checked out the cache while walking in the Botanic Garden on Sunday. I picked up the Vanilla Bug.

Nice trip up the cable car. Thanks for the comprehensive clue - our GPS had us searching in trees about 40 metres away! Explains last weekend's inability to find two caches!

I got to this one around 5 PM and there were students passing as well as a few tourists so I had to cool my heels. The nearby construction has spread pretty close and I fully expected to find the cache in the builder’s skip if it was there at all.
I finally found the cache and carried it off to log the find but by this time a couple had starting taking photos of each other against the spectacular backdrop and either way one of them was always looking towards the hiding place. I went for a walk and returned ten minutes later and they were still there. Then a builder materialised and spent several minutes loading his ute. You need patience for this one.

Enjoyed this as my first cache -- it was amusing to be searching around for a cache in the gardens while various tourists and families were milling about!

Second find for the day. I think we took the long way to the cache but it was worth it! Plenty of workmen and passers-by about so had to be careful. Took a while to find the answer to the question but we are now logging with Darryn's permission. Thanks Darryn.

[I found this without a GPS gadget by realising where it was from reading the additional hint. It was my first find so was quite a thrill.] Best to go in the weekend when close construction work isn't taking place.
Had to try and act inconspicuous while looking for this one while builders nearby must have wondered what we were doing. Interesting place and easy once you used the clue.

Nice cache to find. Nearby construction makes finding a little more difficult.
