Found 7th August after a walk around Blinman and the mine. Thanks for bringing us here. Out with Ambers007.
This a new account but I found this cache with my mum (EmsDan1315) and my brother (maggies123) on 14-7-2024. TFTC.
On our travels we found ourselves in Blinman and took the opportunity this cache after we did the mine tour, a nice walk to the GZ and cache was located its in excellent condition, thanks for placing it
Found it! Took a morning walk up to the mine from our accommodation in Blinman. Found this one nicely hidden away. #421 TFTC!
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches along the way. We headed off on a round trip from Hawker to Blinman. The scenery was stunning. We also enjoyed the history of the area. Thanks Liz and Bruce .
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and now in the Flinders Ranges. We haven’t been further than Hawker on previous trips and are in awe of the stunning scenery. Thanks Liz and Bruce
Parked the geo rig behind the pub....hoofed it out over hill and scrub. Found lovely stonework of the dam wall. Thsnks for bringing us here.
Found while on hearse068 50 th birthday bash. Interesting spot don’t think I will be doing the mine tour thou. Thank for bringing this spot to our attention . TFTC
Thank you for the cache, great find while visiting one of my favorite locations in SA.
Really enjoyed the mine tour and the bonus cache! A couple of kangaroos lazing right at ground zero! Thanks Liz and Bruce great that these old caches are still out there.
Tftc loved the mine tour the hardships these miners endured puts my life into perspective
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to Liz and Bruce for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

There’s a great little walk around here to get to this geocache thank you for show me this place it’s awesome
Off we head to the north finding stuff with satelites!! On the great Frog'n'cat adventure of '22...
Always nice to find an L&B cache. We went armed with maintenance gear to help out, and found it had been attended two days before!!!
We put Mr frog's container inside the newish ice cream one, so now it is prettyt tough and should last a few years
Not quite a drive by but we got as close as we could. A nice walk after the mine tour.
Much thanks to Liz and Bruce for locating and maintaining this cache on our geo-travel map

Searching, spotting and signing cache logs with Purrfect Di, Jack, and the Froghoppin Duo, using some or all of the resources of GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife), Whereyougo, Garmin Montana 750i, Montana 680t, Etrex 35, Samsung S21u, Samsung S9, with Geocaching App, c:Geo, or Geooh Go, and Android Auto and other maps... or often with just plain old dumb luck Plenty of that luck stuff actually !!!
*Logs are composed and published with love using GSAK of course.*

Caching is quite a hazardous activity!
Watch out for sand traps, snakes, surprise cliffs, boxing roos, wombats, things falling from trees, bulldust, and floods,
try not to get tetanus from rusty mint tins and don't fall off your ladder...
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- but especially lookout for germs and bugs !!! . [xx(]
Try to keep Travel Bugs as the Only bugs you share and pass on
Now there's no real restrictions - even more important to sanitise and safely distance!!!
Heaps good of all those placing quality caches out and about around the countryside areas,
in sensible safe places especially! - it keeps our game safe, fun, and interesting
Thanks so much for reading all this addition to the log word count! There's a challenge somewhere out there, apparently! You win a virtual smiley for the effort and getting to the end of the log

After enjoying the minetour we ventured across to visit this older cache with Mattycat and PerfectDi taking a container in hand, on arrival we found the container had been replaced with an icecream container. we secured the log book in he sistema we brought along and left it all in the icecream container for the future finders, some nice views this side of the mine

3 July 2022 1:09 pm Found with the Hardacres on our School holidays trip to the FlindersRanges.
Replaced container with an ice cream container as that was all we had. We need better container at some stage. Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.

3 July 2022 13:10. Found with Hearse068 while camping with camping buddies on our Flinders Ranges school holidays trip. Thanks Liz and Bruce for the cache.
If possible it would be appreciated if the next geocacher could take along a new container for this one which has deteriorated over time. with our thanks Liz and Bruce
Just as well there’s a low rainfall! The container is kapoot! Found after self guided tour. Day 13 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its a fab day. The Ikera- Flinders Ranges and it’s caches are high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game.
Couldn’t resist this golden oldie whilst in the area. We weren’t too sure how to access but got there in the end. TFTC Liz and Bruce appreciate you keeping this game going
We enjoyed the drive today with ilook4geo, through the Flinders Ranges with all its rugged mountains and different rock formations. This was an easy cache to find and there is still plenty of room on the log. Log was signed with both names before being put back as it had been found. Fav point for being an interesting location. Thanks go to Liz and Bruce for placing this cache.
Spent a very pleasant day in the Flinders Ranges with goingplaces2 and this was one of the caches we either found or completed. Learned some interesting things and enjoyed the ones that we were able to find for a smiley. TFTC.
After taking a stroll around the top of the mine I headed over to grab this one , definitely need to come back here and do the tour Thanx for the Adventure Stay Dirty ️

After quite along (and uneccessary) hike, finally found the cache. Lid is broken and water could easily enter. Found after internal and external mine tour on our 6 day stay in Blinman. Very interesting !! Tftc.
Random little walk up n down the hill from the mine tour. Mine tour worth doing TFTC
Could someone visiting this old cache of ours please take along a new container as the existing one is now cracked. With our thanks and kind regards Liz and Bruce
We are enjoying exploring the northern Flinders, with so much history. Made the find after a tour of the mine. The cache is in a sad state, with the outer cracked although still dry inside. Unfortunately we didn’t have a spare container. Thanks for the hide.
Found after a small walk to the top of the hill. Nice views. Blinman looked good today. It was a little warm.
Nice spot to hide a cache. Away from the tourists.
I was a bit strong with the container and when I went to unscrew the cap the whole top broke off as it was very brittle. ... and I don't have a replacement.
I put it back to minimise rain entry.. though that's not such a big issue in this part of the world. Could the next finder please bring a replacement.

Found with Jac-Jam on our second daytrip out from Willow Springs. Today we toured the area tothe north east of WS to Blinman ten returned along the main road. TFTC.
We've been wanting to drive the Strzelecki Track for a long time so a window of opportunity came up and we were out the gate!! We travelled up the Birdsville Track and down from Innamincka. Had a great time caching and admiring many views of the outback. The only casualty was the windscreen which had a close encounter with a rock on day 3. Got told in Birdsville that it wasn't bad enough to freight another up. Luckily it made it all the way home with the help of duct tape. We found some great views and historical places thanks to geocaching.

We were staying at the nearby Alpana station and drove into Blinman to grab the local caches. Thanks for showing us this spot.
Found on a hot day in the Flinders rangers, driving thrug as manny gorges as posible in my small 2wd, its a rental....great place this is my first day here, would be amasig with a 4wd and water in the streams... just a littel bit..
Today was our primary day of hiking within the Flinders Ranges with a group of friendly Geocachers: jesswrigley, Laighside Legends, gridge98, and *the Godfather* (aka Freddo). The main target was Bathtub Creek, and then geocaching towards Parachilna via Blinman. A pleasant day to be in the outdoors, whilst trying to dodge the increasing flies.
We arrived in Blinman and treated ourselves to cold drinks and ice creams. I think our earlier Bathtub Creek hike deserved a prize. We then drove down the road to the Blinman mine, when we had an awesome personal guided tour! This was awesome and we all enjoyed seeing the rock underground here. Well worth the experience, and highly recommended!! (could this be a separate Earthcache soon?). Seeing some of the underground copper veins was really cool.
Following the mine experience, we jogged to the cache and made the find just over the hill. Sounds like the locals found this in the last 12-18 months during a clean-up, but realised it was still being used and left it; how kind of them. Thanks Liz and Bruce!

Found It!
Turns out that Freddo knows the tour guide here from some past job. So we had a tour of the mine which was very interesting - certainly worth doing while you are here! Then after that we wandered over and found the cache!

Day 2 of our trip to the flinders ranges with Davidwazza, Jesswrigly and the godfather of caching Freddo. After a long walk to bathtub a detour through the gorge and to blinman then back was on the cards.
We were lucky enough to haver the frog know a lady that worked in the mine. A cheap tour was offered and after an hour of walking through an amazing mine collecting some knowledge a cache was had to be found. TFTC

A bit late logging this, sorry. Probably would not have come up here and explored without this cache. Never knew about the extent of this mine. Staying at Angorichina but a great meal at the Blinman Hotel. TFTC
Found on a day trip to Blinman while camping in Wilpena Pound. Bit of mountain goat work but soon had cache in hand. Nice piece of history here. TNLNSL, TFTC
Whilst in town, using the only mobile coverage for miles, ducked up here to find one of the oldest cache around these parts...
A nice little walk, and digress off the path. Can't see where I went outside the boundary.
TNLNSL
Thanks

Nice spot tftc, you can't access this cache (without going out of bounds) from the mine walking trail...
found on day 3 of a 5 day trip around the flinders rangers. leaving chambers gorge and heading back to rawnsley station. Quick grab before doing the blinman underground mines tour. always good to get a older one.
There was a tour going on in the tunnel (we could even hear them from the top) [:o)], so had the outside to ourselves [8)].
TNLNSL.
Some amazing history (and very hard work) here [^].
Thanks Liz & Bruce.

This was the weekend of the "unloved road trip". A series of caches with various amounts of unloved were on the hit list. All of them were in the areas near Parachilna and Hawker and in between. Freddo and Malco! were in the Pahero while Brad, B2, and Cache_or_Check (aka FunkyGibbon) were in the ReverseTardis. Sadly janet had stayed home along with Ruff_Ruff, but B2 (like her brother J2) is a well qualified albeit only occasional member of the Brad&Janet team
This was the last cache for day two. It was a lot further from the mine than we had expected. But our name is in the book now.

Angorichina Adventure.
Brad&Janet , B2, *Cache or Check* and yours truly were conscripted by Freddo to further his ambitious plans… Plans to travel by 4WD into the heart of the copper country around Blinman, picking up targets of opportunity along the way, and to reset the clock on many lonely and unloved caches. The carrot for this journey was three days in the Flinders Ranges; good company; wine & beer, a few BBQ’d steaks & burgers, chilli/tuna & chipotle wraps; viewing sites from tracks and hills in the footsteps of Hans Heysen and to relax and get away from it all. Top it off with a Road Kill Grill at the Prairie Hotel, Parachilna and you have a great weekend. The weather, usually a negative component in these getaways, was perfect: clear nights, frosty sub-zero mornings and deep blue sunny skies. The moon, gloriously full, greeted us as it rose above the range each night, and farewelled itself as it dipped out of sight each morning. The rating for this mission: 10/10.
Day 2 - Final Find
After doing a loop thru Glass Gorge, Nuccaleena, Moolooloo, Patawarta, Artimore and Eregunda, we arrived at the famous mine. Freddo dropped out of sight. The remainder of the party clambered over the top, down into the gully and back up to the rocks to locate the cache. Returning to the car, we waited, and waited, and waited for Freddo to return. We discussed where he could be and employed Occam's Razor to determine he was in the mine. We drove back to Blinman for a nature break leaving CoC to wait. (Lesson learned from Burke & Wills tragedy ) Freddo appeared while we were gone. We were right - he was down in t'mine.
Fun was had by all. Thanks for the cache, Liz&Bruce

This is the story of the Flinders Ranges trip of 4 men and a muggle, looking for ‘unlove’.
Freddo, Malco!, Brad (minus Janet but with B2) and myself spent 3 days in a 4WD exploring the remote sections of the Flinders Ranges in search of caches that had not been found for 6 months or more.
The last cache for day 2 and the sun was almost setting. Up and down and up again we went whilst taking in the history of the mines. Freddo in the mean time jagged a private underground tour.

Did the tour of the mine and then a quick dash around to get a Smiley at this one. Enjoyed a Pastie at the CAFE, and a Quongdong Tart. Yum.
Drove up to the top then walked across and down to this one, a cute gecko was on the cache when I retrieved it.
Top town, what an awesome community project. Loved every bit of our ti e in this tkwn. Thanks for bringing us here. Tftc
Scenic flight cancelled this morning, what a pitty! So we did this cache. TFTC!
Took a muggle caching for the FTF badge, after an amazing tour of the Blinman Mine. The GPS told us to follow the road, but the road was clearly inaccessible from the mine carpark. Turned out to be a lovely walk though! TFTC!
Escaped Adelaide for a few days to this magical country.
Love Wilpena, Blinman and surrounds especially when all green like it is now. Stunning.
Cache track was a little adventurous, lots of loose stuff to slide down into prickly bushes
Great spot tho' - I love Blinman. TFTC - all good, left a shell. A fave point for this little journey. Thanks.

We stayed at Rawnsley Park Station and decided to do the 4x4 day trip they offer. Lucky us we were the only ones on that days trip, so quickly asked the tour guide if he wouldn't mind stopping at a few random places. As it turned out quite a few of the caches we did today were on his schedule anyway. Our guide was so interested he even signed up as a member while we were having lunch.
Had a great day and would recommend these tours to anyone as you learn so much more when travelling with someone who knows the area. TFTC

Friends went down the mine said it was a great tour, I had time to find the cache, thanks Liz and Bruce.
Staying in Blinman tonight. We were told we may get mobile reception up here on the hill... lol... yeah right :cP An interesting historical location. Great to find another older cache standing the test of time :c) TFTC Liz and Bruce!!
Parked at the mine entrance but it was too hot to walk around the site, so I was going to give this cache a miss. Then I found another way around which made the find easier.

Quickly Found Thank you for the Cache and greetings from German geocacher grixlbruepf on Holiday
#1613 Day 8 into our SA road trip and we spent part of the morning replacing a buggered punctured tyre. 400 big ones later we were back on the road again to check out Blinman. Mrs BGF did the underground mine tour which was fascinating, whilst Mr BGF stayed with the geohounds up above. When the tour was completed we snuck into town for some lovely local pub fare, before returning to the mine to do the self guided tour. When we got to the old mine water tanks on top of the hill we then ducked over to find the cache. We really enjoyed exploring the mine and other history around the town, great spot, Tftc Liz and Bruce.
