G'day from Brisbane Australia! On tour and the bus stopped here, so I grabbed some caches. An extraordinarily busy little town, and chaotic with cars trying to drive down streets simply not wide enough (although they got through mostly). I started to feel claustrophobic actually. Despite the loud and insistent seagulls, GZ was one of the calmer spots, so I read the tragic tale depicted here.
Thanks Longitude for bringing me to this location. Logged with permission

Cache #71 of our U.K. trip.
Another return to St Ives, with more time on our hands. The RNLI vessel is spectacular - so pleased we could access the building this time.
Signed and returned. Thank you.

Thank you for the confirmation I can log this. I enjoyed my time in St Ives and walked around the town and along the coast. A lovely place. TFTC Longitude.
I visited St Ives in 1995 and spent a night here, finally 17 years later I return. There are a lot more tourist shops now...
Certainly a tragic tale, but I enjoy discovering these stories. Thanks very much for the history and the near little virtual.

This one brought a little history lesson for us in unusual and quite beautiful St Ives. TFTC.
Easy find and we got to see the lifeguards washing their boat down.
Odd to see that the name of the ship in question had the same name as me and the wife!

Stopped off in St Ives for fish & chips on the way back to our camp-site from a day trip to Lands End.
