tried to check this out and put a new cache in there today, but it is closed while the chopper is flying broken trees out.
Didn't realise that this was still off line when I visited. Great views of Wellington from this location, so I wasn't disappointed.
Hi All
I have disabled this cache untill I check it myself
Hope to get in there within the next two weeks

My first cache! Allways wondered how to get to the top of that hill. Can see it from my balcony.
Took fridge magnet

Because of the whiteout, I didn't realise just how far up this was until I was at the Hawkins Radar dome the next day. The cache was further in the bush than I expected. Lukily, I found it relatively quickly.
+ Tennis ball
- Bubble mix
Thanks, M@

This one took a bit longer than expected, had to rummage for a while in the bush. Walked up a muddy slippery track and then discovered once we got there that there was a road to the top.
In Paua shell fridge magnet
Out scented candle.

Once we found the start point it was a nice walk to the site. Bit of a rummage in the bush, but easy find anyway.
Left-Smelly candle & Bubble blowing liquid.
Took-Silly string.
Left rather quickly as weather started to pack it in.

Found the cache! Needed to scramble around in the underbrush for about 15 minutes - all the while keeping a wary eye out for wetas and other insectoid enemies...
Took out the Tawia Travel Bug, which will be coming to a brand new cache near you soon.
Left behind a can of silly string and a NZ Flag pin.

Visiting from Canada - our first NZ cache. Not familiar with the area, so we went up the hard way (through the dense underbrush). We scoured the area for a few minutes, then found the cache in good condition. It helps to bring a small child with you.
We took the Vanilla Bug and the Tantrix puzzle. We left one of our own travel bugs - Wild Kiwi - and a Canadian loonie ($1 coin).
Thanks for the cache.

Nice walk from Weld Street and great views on the harbour on the way. Took the Mountaineering Bulletin, left a keyring. Also, I dropped off Vanilla Bug from the Botanic Garden.
I started this cache at the foot of Wadestown Road. The road less travelled by is my overall impression. I should have taken the road up to Weld Street.
After following the tracks through the bushes, nearly at the top, I realised that this was going to be the hardest strain I've put on my body in a long time.
Arriving Destination - two words that will put the geojuice back into you. Unfortunately for me, that geojuice was the last of the juice left in the GPS's batteries, which then proceeded to turn off. Getting closer to where I thought the cache would be, (near the top) I turned it back on only to realise that the position I had was out by about 80 metres. No biggy. Realised I forgot my compass. Decrypted the clue. Found it! My second cache!
Took the Stress Globe
Added a Tantrix puzzle in a small netted bag. There are 10 pieces in that puzzle.

I reached this cache site at the end of a busy day (5 caches) just on dusk only to find my torch had switched on in my pocket and its batteries dead. I found it almost by feel after first grabbing a concrete block and then a plastic bottle. There was just enough twilight to write the log by holding it up to the dying light.
Took the turtle
Left a padlock and a fridge magnet.
The city views were impressive with lights coming on.
Thanks Darryn.
Once we found where to park the car at the top of Weld Street we walked in admiring the views as we went. We took Mum (78) on her first geocache outing. GPS took us straight to the spot. Mum spotted the cache and Rodney got it out!
Took the pocket knife (Mum's choice) and left stress globe.
Thanks Darryn for our first Wellington find on this trip.

Not sure when we went here, middle of last year, so have put in the 1-July. Should take the dog for a walk and see if the date is recorded in the log.
Took torch? put in calculator?

Aidan, Lisa, Chris and Emma found the cache after a little looking... Nice spot to hide it Darryn!
We decided to do it in the dark to make a little more challenging so the only view was of the city lights but that was still pretty sweet!
Took the Keychain Laser and left a Survival Whistle.
