Don't know if it's still active since its been 2 years since the last log. But good climb and nice view. Spent about half an hour looking but no luck.

No joy today. Given the weather was turning unkind, this left some time to scale Jim's peak. Searched high and low but only came away with photos of the view - which were spectactular. Till next time.

What a walk! Comparable to one of the caches at Giraween which was on a super steep rock. Forgot to take water so we were a but dehydrated at the end of it. TFTC. Left TB

Ahh!! I've been to the top of the mount before with no success, pleased to say second time lucky. Not being a lover of heights, my gratitude to 202 and Temingi and my kids for the encouragement to have another crack at this cache.
We found the waypoint canister on top of the mount out of its normal hide, suspect it could have been washed out by the recent heavy rains. Bit of a lucky grab really!!
Smile
Back down the mount to find the GZ without much hassle.

Found first clue at 4:15pm after 15 minute search and found final cache at 5:00pm after a minute search. Highly recommend this cache. Absolutely fantastic views. Fit climbers can make it to the top in 25-35 minutes.

Thanks,

Found with Qldwarrior. I don't know how many times i've climbed this mountain but never knew about geocaching till this week. What a fun challenge. Thanks Dooghan. I'll certainly try for more finds in the near future.

Found with Temingi. This is one cache i was determined to find on the first visit. Started just before 8am to leave plenty of time for searching, after reading previous entries. Found wp1 after a half hour search, then an easy find at the cache site. My suggestions for anyone taking on Jim's cache in the future would be:
- take plenty of water, in an easy to carry container
- prepare for mozzies and green ants before you leave your vehicle
In: dinosaur, band aids & keyring
Out: canada race car & coin tin
TFTC Dooghan. Best one yet!

Hurrah, defeated it at last! Had to make the ascent alone this time, and despite the much appreciated information from Liz and Bruce and Deadly Freadly, I still made hard work of it. Over half-an-hour of searching this time, and I have a few safety suggestions:
- a pair of gloves would be a good idea (for the searching part, and maybe the climbing)
- you don't have to go right to the edge of the cliff to find wp1 (well maybe it's not a cliff, but my sense of self-preservation was giving me a stern talking to)

Much appreciated, in the end, Dooghan. Thankyou for an exhilarating experience. I reckon I've worked out I should stick to difficulty level 3 and below.

Any other DNF's feel free to drop me a line, I'll be happy to help.

Oh, and in the spirit of the day, I did wp2 the hard way, including a creek crossing and fighting through lantana. I know: totally unnecessary, but I wasn't paying attention to the GPS, and I hate backtracking.

Took nothing, left: a pencil (the pen is getting a bit dodgy).

Spotted this one on the GPS screen when we'd decided to go for a walk in this area anyway. Myself and 2 geocaching virgins searched high and low for nearly an hour for the waypoint, to no avail. Hope to garner some more information and have another crack at this one.

Quite a climb and descent. Bruce had lucky hands today and found wp 1 straight away which we were rather pleased about having heard and read the horror stories. Coords spot on. Finding the cache was a piece of cake. We took two travel bugs out of there to move along. Thanks Dooghan for encouraging us to experience Jim.

the final location was easly found arounnd 9pm

Well..what can i say...it was definitely a great climb, allthough i was buggered once we got to the top...think it was 36 deg's out.

Scratched around trying to find the waypoint for 15-20minutes, got frustrated and decided to sit down and reflect and soak in the surroundings for a spell while KT kept looking. Spotted it within a mintue of sitting down!!

Found the cache easy enough,

Took Magnet Hand
Left 2x Sunglasses Lense Wipes

TFTC, we have been looking for a good excuse to climb it for the past 3 years while travelling back and forth to yeppoon for triathlons.

Hmmmmm, I was really tempted to log this as a DNF, due to me being unable to locate the first waypoint, and request the owner go and check to make sure it was still there, just to torture him just a little bit, but then I realised I wouldnt be able to make the log that I found the waypoint at 11.11am, on the 11 November 2006, and besides, Im not that MEAN. So, I spent a quite few minutes remembering the diggers from past conflicts who have defended, and made this country the great place it is, and enjoying the view. Heaps of traffic on the road, and 3 young fellas climbing the mound, one in thongs. It did take about an hour or so to find the waypoint, and as usual, just when I was about to give up, there it was. Found the cache itself at 11.40am. Grabbed TB Baby World for the second time, to move it to a more visited location. Also took the Ralph bottle opener, and left a magnetic hand fridge magnet. Oh, and did I mention, I HATE HILLS.

Almost died doing this, we reckon that we got 3/4 of the way, but the loose rocks got the better of us.
Got down to the bottom and found sunglasses missing so retraced our slipping and slidding. Hope the finder enjoys the sunglases. We are becoming wary of Dooghan caches.

11-Aug-06
I had a great time scrambling up the hill again. Didn't think I would find WP1 at first, but the old eagle eye finally spotted something. The cache was much easier to find. Took a dice and left a car. Dropped in Baby World TB fresh from Gladstone Big Grin

06-Aug-06
It took Joe Possum two scrambles to find the first cache. One in the dark with the second one on Saturday 5 August, a fine day with good views. GPS was all over the place and it took over an hour of searching before stumbling across it. Should have noted the hint. The final cache was not a problem. Took lead straps and left a friendly Kanga.

Dooghan and Family, thanks for the exercise and the cache.

16-Jul-06
I approached this one with some trepidation given the previous logs indicating it was hard to find. Had no trouble finding the film canister on top and the final cache was easy to get to (after one bum steer from the gps).

I built some cairns on the way up, hope others find them useful. Did the whole thing in my all-terrain k-mart thongs, but would probably recommended sturdier footwear for the steep sections of loose rock! Fantastic climb.

Early morning start - just missed the sunrise from up topRazz.
Got to first cache and found it without any trouble.
(which is a bit of a worry - must be starting to understand how the Dooghans think Wink)
then rested and enjoyed the views...

Searched the top of that mountain for an hour and a half & turn just about every rock. Could not find the film case. Found a glass jar under a rock with a note saying that they had climbed the mountain & left a note. Nothing to do with Geocaching.

Great cache.

Great location for my first cache. We did find the first one after an hour and a half. The second one took five minutes to find.

Doughan you are a sneaky bugger. Keep up the good work.

A great sport i am glad i found out about.

12-Mar-05

Found our second Dooghan cache and we agree with all the other comments that they really are the torture masters.

Spent an hour and a half looking for the first waypoint then finally we found it just as we were thinking suicide.
Luckily we found the main cache a lot more easier.

We enjoyed the challenge of this cache and enjoyed the views of the country side. The cache container now is a army bullet box not a blue container.

Took funny men on strings and left two dice and a novelty toy.

Thanks for the cache Dooghans

First part of the cache was a pain to find.

13-Nov-04
Dooghan you devil!!!!
You really are the original torture master!
I was completely exhausted by the time I got to the first waypoint, and was rapidly running out of daylight to work with. After an extensive search, looked up & there was no light to see by!!!! Spend about an hour trying to find my way back to the car.
This cache is deservedly rated 3.5,3.5.
My only advise to any futre cachers would be.... Make sure that you have heaps of available daylight to conduct the search.

Once again, dooghan you devil!!!!

11-Aug-04
Loved it!
It took me just as long to find the first waypoint as it did to get to it - well not quite, but it seemed like it. Found it in the end - great views.

Thanks for the cache

Last one for the Year.
After sucessfully completing "Rocky View" Dooghan and I headed out to the notorious Jim's Cache. I had already heard stories about this cache from down in NSW. I could see why it was discussed when a 6 K's to GZ it loomed out from behind the peaks surrounding the Caves. I knew I would need a bottle of water so we over shot the GZ a couple of kays and stocked up.

We completed the first GZ in good time and sat and enjoyed the awesome view until the geo-wives called and gave us a hurry up. Lucky they did as we ended up finding the final location just on dusk. And I should add that Dooghan was no help whatsoever.

Left a ball behind and Dooghan checked to ensure all was well within. A little moisture which was easily wiped out.

Special Thanks to Dooghan and Dylan for a wonderful New Years Eve.

The Bronze.

Took a while to find the first stage but was eventually found by my brother who came for a look.Had abit of an idea where you were going to send us for the final cache.
Great views and a good walk
Took nothing and left nothing
Thanks Georgie & co

Twisted Now thats a CACHE!!!!............. Should be renamed T.....M..... (dont want to giv it away) Well done !! We got there about 3:20 pm and found the first one with an hour of light to spare.Looks like a giant scrub turkey has been there. To speak of the devil wendy guessed what you had done and I just laughed the idea off>>>

Wendy said something about a Horrible Nasty E-mail! Thanks for the hunt and challenge..This is what We feel there should be more of in QLD

The Wyoming wombats beat us to both caches not by much! Big Grin

I now know why I am the first to find this. When Australia goes to war again, Dooghan's name will be first on the list for Head Torturer for the country.

Having said that, the spectacular nature of this cache is well worth the effort.

I also picked up both travel bugs. Unfortunately, the hard copy I printed of the caches didn't mention that Sharky is heading North. Sorry. He has since been dropped off (still in Qld).

Thanks (I think) Dooghan.
