Got confused until we realised what a kwhai tree was! Well hidden. Thankyou!
Doing a bit of a whirlwind trip around the North Island - Lower Hutt-Palmerston North-Hawera - to see friends and family. Have my eye on a few caches to fill in my "months hidden" grid, this being one.A beautiful day, but the wind is a tad chilly. Didn't take long to work out where I needed to be. One side was a lake, the other side wasn't. A quick find exactly where the hint suggested.Thank you for this old cache. Stoked to have it as a smiley.
Found while out looking for a rubber chicken (Mad butcher comp) so didnt have a pen with me. Will be back tomorrow to sign the log. What a great little find
Found my way in from the new subdivision entrance off Timaru road. Cache still tucked away as suggested by the hint.Amazing and great that these old caches are not archived, thanks in now small part to the CO.
Took a few minutes, picked it up and didn't realize it was it until I looked again 5 minutes later. TFTC
Found it in easy under a rock good spot fortgot to bring a pen but we took the cat sticker inside
We overthought this for a bit before finding the cache. Log is really wet. TFTC
Clever wee cache, good hints, took nothing, but added some gold to the treasure!
What a place! That was a tricky one. I passed it many times and ended up my hubby found in by moving stuff on the ground..
Found, allgood here. Cool hide and beautiful spot! Left an art sticker 5 year indoor/outdoor vinyll
I havent done the walk, or collected caches, around Barrett Domain before, so with a couple of new caches in the area I decided to go for a walk and collect all the caches.
There were muggles lurking as I got to GZ but I ducked off the track as the hint instructed and soon had it done and was on my way. Thanks for the cache.

Out for a cache hunt with Go_Zz, GigiEV and Soso. This one took a little longer to find as we started at the wrong K, plus some muggles came past while we were hunting so we ducked and froze while they went by. Go_Zz found this one. Several varieties of ducks and some black swan at the lake today.

Took a wee bit of fossicking around, but got there in the end. Also got mixed up with the wrong kowhai. Great walk with Granddaughter Georgia & canine Maisie
Found on a walk after dinner with TeamAlmaWoody and my fav doggy Maisie. A few hint items to choose from but we soon found it. TFTC
Spending the weekend in New Plymouth. Lots of caching to be done in this fine weather. Enjoyed the stroll around the domain. Took a while to identify the right Kowhai tree but once I did it was fine. Thanks for the smiley.
such a fun one! and cute disguising! my pen failed on me so I could not log! though fun none the less!!
Found it, log too wet to write in. Many thanks for the $20! Never come across that before! And well received, thank you
Hard to find! $20 placed in the cache for the next finder. Enter the bush through the flax bushes.
Tried to find this a couple of years ago with no luck. This time I was in the area and managed to get it. TFTC
I had never been in this area before and so I thought I'd get a double whammy by trying to find this cache at the same time. The funny thing was I looked right at the cache a couple of times before having an 'aha!' moment. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up and maintain this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC and Happy New Years!
Yes the cache is there. But follow the hint. It is well disguised, so that it doesn't get nicked.
North Island Campervan trip Day 2
After the fantastic holiday I had a few months ago traveling around the South Island, making the most of one of those incredibly cheap campervan deals available at the time, I figured it was worth taking a week off work before the stresses of the usual holiday period to enjoy some of the delights to be found around the top of the North Island.
So seeing as I have to get to Auckland to pick the camper up it seemed like a great opportunity to break my drive up there up by going via the Taranaki, to seek out some targeted caches there such as the TMGT ones as well as some that would help me with my Jasmer grid, missing minutes (for a couple of challenge caches I'm working on) and any other caches that caught my eye.
Today was simply the drive up to Auckland from New Plymouth. This was an opportunity to go caching in an area I don't often get to and in fact haven't been to at all since I started caching. But before I set off on the trip up north, I had a few caches around here that I wanted to look for including this one which I really wanted to fill a hole in my Jasmer grid.
I arrived at GZ without too much issue, only to be completely flummoxed once there. My GPS was suggesting I had to go off the path into the lake itself by about 6-7 metres. I spent about half an hour systematically searching every tree within about a 20m radius but had to admit defeat and walk back to the car. It was a nice walk, but a frustrating result for me.

Thankfully we trusted the co-ords, and found the cache right where it should be A good spot and lovely views across the lagoon. TFTC
Pre Labour weekend trip away, seen as I'm working through Labour Weekend, I decided that from Wellington I would head towards Whanganui for the night, then home via New Plymouth to collect some TMGT and Jasmer caches.
A nice walk here to sign off this Jasmer cache. The water is really clear here, just a shame people have thrown some rubbish in real mature guys..
TFTC smoking gun, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 9 find(s) of 15 today, making this find #2293

An enjoyable we walk to find this cache.
Jude_E, NosyNel and I are continuing on our figure of 8 tour of the North Island collecting the ‘Tour’ caches, plus others, plus seeing the scenery, plus having a good old time. TFTC.

The tree began to talk. It was Jude_E who had found the geocache. It was a pleasant walk. I am on a North Island Figure of Eight tour. For the first 4 days I spend time in the Bay of Plenty with my husband JDScout in Rotorua. Now I am on part two of the eight loop near the end of our loop, driving from New Plymouth to Whanganui. This part is being done with my good friends Ethness and Jude_E.
Thanks Smoking Gun for creating this hide. It was find 9094 for me.
======== NZ Mega 2021 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2021 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, October 2021

First time we’ve been out caching for ages. Great easy find to get back into it. Good hint! Thanks for the cache!
A lovely afternoon for a new place to walk the dog and do the caching thing! Great little find.
A rocky start but we found it in the end. Wet paper meant we couldn’t sign it off at site.
Some of the rhyme seemed to work for us, but the precise hint made for a quick easy find. TFTC
Thanks love it. I tried finding this one a few years ago. Had no luck. Today was our lucky day.
Took a bit of scouting around but eventually found it. Our first geocaching adventure
