Thought it'd be appropriate to leave this cache as my last one for this Ballarat trip. Many thank's indeed to all the CO's for making this a memorable trip.
On our way to the airport, we picked this cache due to the 1/1 D/T rating, hoping it would be easy! Ha! After battling the blackberry and undergrowth, we eventually got Lionjrb to fetch it for us. Tftc. Definitely not wheelchair friendly!
FOUND with the Tassie boys,Clearly i enjoy the hunt and the companyMore than logging caches ...BUT now its logged and tftc !
28th April 2024#438Couldnt sign log book as it was too wet. Swapped large fridge magnet for glow in the dark stars.
OK so I'm not getting how on earth this cache has a terrain rating of 1?! While it was very easy to spot actually pushing my way into it was a whole other matter! Not only do you have to push past all of the branches but also watch your footing on the uneven, sloping ground. Needless to say I'd absolutely love to see a wheelchair get in and out of here! that said it was good to grab one more cache before leaving Ballarat. TFTC!!
Located by baby&Mrs gopher at 1715 as the last find for the day. SL Tnx BallaratGeocachers.
TFTC,Arrived I town with a plan to complete the Ballarat GeoTour over the next 2 days.We were going to free camp but decided to stay at the caravan park near this cache. After setting up, we decided to get some exercise and take on high-speed traffic, found this cache.Visited trackables.
Set up the caravan across the road, we arrived today to do the Geo tour. Made a Quick find with wazza9, stamped log and replaced. Thanks to CO.

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to prepare an 18-days project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select only few of them. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the Mega, which was initially our aim.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During Blackhoot's event, "Auvergnats in Australia #2", McLookers told us about Ballarat's geotour caches. It was a great suggestion for our Sunday schedule. So departure at 8am from Melbourne, to spend the day in Ballarat, we will target geotours and a few extras. As the caches are far away, we will need a good day to turn them yellow. This will allow us to visit different spots in Ballarat. Thanks to the owners for the caches and the discovery of places.Thank you McLookers for this advise.
Alansee and I on way home from Ballarat Farewell to Ballarat Geotour. I was on 3,099 and had to get just one more! Thanks for the cache BallaratGeocachers

A weekend away with K9team to complete the Ballarat geo tour and find some other caches along the way. Tftc
Our assumption as to where this would be was wrong. the toolman was on the money in the end and found it.Thanks BallaratGeocachersI spent the Australia Day long weekend in and around Ballarat with 1TOOLMAN and stainless steel rat to do the geotour. We found them all plus most other caches from our short list of around 70 caches.
Another oldie from 2003.Sometime ago myself and gooseandegg had looked at the idea of doing one of the GeoTours in Australia but due to finders losing the attributes and maybe even the souvenir I wasn't about to go out of my way to search out a GeoTour, upon hearing that finders would retain the attributes and souvenir for the Ballarat GeoTour this changed things and plans were made to head specially to the Ballarat area.We flew out of Hobart on Thursday night after work and after a night staying near the airport we were picked up early by honorary Tasmanian 1Toolman, we spent the next two days searching out all the GeoTour and some choice old or special geocache in and around Ballarat, on Sunday morning we just had time to call at GemmaSistemas event out at Miners Rest before turning tail and dashing for the airport to get on my first ever Rex flight back to Hobart, even landing early at 1307.Found on 26/01/2024 at 13:59:00 thanks to BallaratGeocachers for placing this cache for me to find. Decided to come to Ballarat for some caching. 1st cache of the new year. Thanks for placing the cache.
With the Ballarat Geotour nearing its end, jetsons23 and I set off very early morning for the long drive to Ballarat for a day of adventures and hopefully some shenanigans. We agreed the plan was to be disciplined and only find Geotour caches and not get distracted by other caches nearby or along the way. I must say we did amazingly well sticking to this plan, not deviating even though we were tempted. The first day of the new year is set to bring a 25 degree sunny day. This cache was too good to refuse stopping at as it had a date that we both needed to fill on our calendar grid. Cache found easily. No digging required. Thank you for the cache here Kiwideb
The day still has a little light left so i thought i would pick up a couple of oldies before i head home. This one fitted the bill perfectly, thanks. "Many Thanks to Ballarat" is find number 3,272 for me. A great regular traditional cache I enjoyed finding as part of my caching fun in City Of Ballarat. Unless otherwise mentioned above, I found the coordinates to be accurate, the cache in good condition and the log dry and with plenty of room to sign. I am logging this one on Wednesday 20 Dec 2023 at 8:05 pm and the weather is Clear Sky 13C 75% 5 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy BallaratGeocachers.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Heading out of Ballarat and just having to grab themis one. As we approached the bushes, we were surprisingly by a sheep running out. Luckily, it ran down along the fence and not up onto the road. TFTC
Found it while out on a mission for another multi that l am currently undertaking. This one has been on the list for awhile due to it filling in a stat somewhere for me.
Last day. In Ballarat already, after two days of ordinary weather today is a lovely day with perfect caching conditions. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs in town are good for the numbers. Thoroughly enjoyed today, thanks to the local community for putting out all these caches.TFTC Wilbert67
Our last day in Ballarat , the weather has been a little challenging. A few more geotour caches to do and lots of labs and traditional. Ballarat and the surroundings are a great location to cache. Thanks to all the COs for their placements
Find # 13167I've always been in the wrong lane when passing by on my way to the big smoke. But today I had the right one as this grab was planned well ahead of GZ. managed to stop and get out safely and make a quick grab. TFTC Kiwideb
Down in Ballarat with my Geo Chauffeur for a few days to do the Ballarat GeoTour over the next few days, we may even get some others done as well.It is amazing what the guys have achieved with this tour around you City and the area taking us to so many places and being able to see so much of the history around here.We had to add this one into our tour as it was right across where we were staying and you can never let a chance go by.It was a quick find once we go to ground zero from the other side. Found it, monogramed it, replaced it then onto the next cache. Thanks Kiwideb for this cache...LilDO\onna
Out and about in the Ballarat area for a day of caching with Sims_family. As usual, we had a list of target caches, and we would see what happened with caches as we were passing by.
We have passed this cache many times and have yet to stop and find the cache. We parked nearby and carefully crossed the highway to GZ.
We made a nice quick find of a cache in excellent condition.
Thank you, Kiwideb, for this Traditional cache.

Day 6 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965 & I were up and packing as we move to SA today. Once packed, we headed to Corowa for some AL's, the virtual and the event that was on offer.
Once we left, we headed to Mount Gambier via regional Victoria. We targetted a couple of oldies and some with high favourite points before getting to SA on dark.

30,503. Found with minniek during our drive between Rutherglen and Mt Gambier during our Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip.
Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 6. Up early again and packed up the van in order to start heading over to South Australia - our aim tonight being Mt Gambier via the outskirts of Melbourne, Ballarat, Hamilton and onto Mt Gambier with a small number of caches targeted along the way. The drive itself was uneventful and actually quicker than I thought it would take. This was one of the targeted caches being a 2003 cache. A quick find once at GZ.
Thanks Kiwideb !!

Found with PapaGrouch. I had decided to target some older caches to work towards filling my Ausmer grid, and this one was chosen as it filled one spot. Quick find at GZ although I took a somewhat difficult route in to the cache, found a bit cleared route out. TFTC
Found with mogni, we are supposed to be targeting the nearby geo tour caches but seem to get side tracked on the way. this was one of the many caches that side tracked us. quick find. nice to find a 2003 cache.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

While on my way to the MEGA event in Whittlesea, I had the opportunity to get in a few extra days of caching beforehand. This got me to go to areas I would not have normally seen and to some awesome caches. Today I arranged to meet up with the girls and we would do some caches around Ballarat, fill in some grid spaces, grab some as we passed and look at some labs. We had fun chasing Xmas trees, letterboxes and the odd virtual.
Nikid1 wanted this one as it made it into her oldie list. It was dark but we made the find. thanks for keeping this one alive. We signed the log and continued on to the next challenge.

Found this while attending the Whittlesea mega.
Depending on the log size and who I was with this is signed as nikid1, ND1 or TQ5 (team Queensland).
The group of us from the north decided to spend a day in Ballarat as we were all after different DTs, attributes and a lovely geoart (as I love Christmas) that we could get here.
Ballarat is such a lovely town. Such beautiful gardens and architecture that you don’t find up north.
It was dark as we arrived here but I was very keen to find this oldie.
There was a bit of rubbish around and it was a bit smelly. After looking with our iPhone torches we weren’t having much luck. I went and grabbed my good torch and then it didn’t take to long to make the find.
Thanks for keeping this oldie going BallaratGeocachers

Found this one as it fits a hole in the jasmer for me. I ignored my geocaching senses here which was silly. TFTC
A little confused as to where this might be as it appeared to be on a freeway, but upon reaching gz realised it was actually only highway. Still need to take care of fast-moving traffic.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, BallaratGeocachers

Just before the clock strikes 12. A very long and fulfilling day of caching!
Down in Victoria for the long awaited (and necessarily postponed) Wangaratta MEGA, and a little holiday chasing the usual (oldies, counties and windmills). Just for something different we are adding AL's to the hit list and the graves of the regionally buried dead premiers. Lol the things we will do for a cache! Great to add this one to the list. Thanks for the cache.

In Ballarat for a few nights to chip away at the Geotour, find some ALs and a few oldies. This was a quick find on the way back to the motel after an evening of ALs. TFTC.
Out today to this beautiful area to complete the Ballarat GeoTour with Crank1, Lance51 & silence49. It is very windy and cold here. Kiwideb, thank you so much for placing it and highlighting this area.
Beautiful afternoon spent with Bogonghazy in Ballarat. Quick find on our way home. Thanks for placing the geocache
Thanks heaps for this one.

First cache for the day after the first night of camp in Creswick. On my way out to grab some Ausmer grid filling caches. Made the careful stop at this one. Not sure what all the foamy sappy gunk is on the tree but ended up with it all over my shirt before it was too late. The cache was a quick find.
Thanks BallaratGeocachers for the cache.

What a sneaky little hiding spot! Quickly located by the smallest geokid after kinder pick up. We're all a bit over being stuck in the house so a quick detour on the way home was well and truly welcomed and as an added bonus we collected the final ancient wonder we needed. TFTC
