Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was a different kind of a day. The youngest Husky went off for a very long walk, meandering in and around the CBD area, targeting many caches and a lot of adventure lab checkpoints. Over 40,000 steps were walked in total, which worked out to be a smidge over 30kms. Meanwhile, the two elder Huskies opted for a more relaxing day to rest and recover, hanging close to base with a handful of finds in between some shopping and a cafe lunch. An incredibly productive and most importantly, fun caching day, which if including AL's in the total, made for our biggest day of finds ever. We are all thoroughly loving Adelaide.Needed to wait for a strange muggle to vacate the GZ area before searching. A bit of a stretch but cache retrieved and replaced without issue. Very cool urban art. Thanks for the cache

Phew, that was a tough one. Our final co-ords were a bit out, so the lack of hint had us wondering where the heck to look. Luckily it wasn't too busy in the area at the time, and StreetWalker had the reach to finally get his hands on the cache. It would have been impossible for me retrieve, and I am average height. TFTC.Had to edit to fix date, logging on a laptop which thinks it's still in NZ.

After over seven weeks on the road, I'm back home and finally catching up on all my logging.Caching in South Australia was fantastic, so many good hides to find, and we found ourselves zigzagging all over the place doing lots of geoart but of course ran out of time to get everything done on our to-do list. The majority of caches we found were in great condition and well maintained, which is a credit to all the CO's who placed them, so thank you.Our logs were mostly signed as 6 for QLD to save room on the log sheets, and no doubt, we'll be back again in the future ??

17:38In Adelaide to attend the Great Leap Forward event from Qld with geofriends and having a great time.Had difficulty finding a parking spot so resorted to a parking centre but as we made our way to the starting point found plenty of parking. Making our calculations we arrived at a location that seemed to hold nothing.. on looking closer finally located the cache. Log signed 6 for Qld. What an amazing wall! A fav point from me. Tftc

The Place Where The Sun Does Not Shine is not to be confused with things belonging into the field of anatomy. Instead it is a place in Slice an area in the Lancre kingdom hidden in the high Ramptop mountains. Surprisingly, in The Place Where The Sun Does Not Shine the sun does not shine. This place is a steep vertical shaft in the rock, and the slow, heavy Discworld sunlight cannot even get in by flowing and sinking into it.Not to be confused with En al Sams la Raisa, a probably mythical geographical location in Klatch and an example of inscrutable Klatchian humour, especially when Fred Colon is the er, butt of the joke.

Woohoo! We found it. ????We began this cache 2 days ago while in the area. There were some workers here setting up for the Festival. Luckily they allowed us to go behind the scenes to collect our information. ?? That done, calculations were sorted but we ran out of time. Had an event to go to. So back we went that night definitely not the best time to visit. There were people everywhere and the lane was blocked with cars. So, this arvo (Saturday) we re-visited and we had the area to ourselves. Wow! What an amazing wall that is! We found the cache in the second place we tried. Its very handy that one of us has long limbs. Very happy to have found this one. We loved where this took us. Favourite Point from us for sure. Thank you TeamAstro. ??

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 5 days in Adlade, we visited the centre and around while following the caches and labs. We resolved some mysteries before our trip. We made some great discoveries and great experiences.Multi simple, i like. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Headed out for a bike ride and to grab a few caches along the way. All up 15 caches were found, including this one. Beautiful day for it and judging by the amount of bikes and activewear I saw along the way, I'd guess those two things were high up on the list of Christmas (or Boxing Day buys . I'd gathered the information for this a few years back but whenever I went by GZ I was too short of time to collect it. This morning I gained slightly higher elevation thanks to my Defy. TFTC

Thats where all my matchbox cars went! What a great spot for a cache. This took me 2 attempts. The first attempt had every man, women, child, council worker, 'entertainment' worker, builder, tourist, cleaner and student under the sun walking past. The failed first attempt at least allowed a good walk around and identify some good hide options. On this evening's 2nd attempt I brought a ladder. After trying some more difficult hide options that came up negative, the ladder was returned to the car. I expanded the search to less challenging areas and found the cache. It turns out that my waypoint projection was about 11m from GZ. The cache is hanging in there. A bit rusty but still there. Getting only a bit of sun. The log is now full and would benefit a replacement. I really enjoyed this one. Great final hiding area. Thanks for maintaining it TeamAstro.TFTC

My first work trip to Adelaide for a while and staying in the CBD which is rare. So, after checking into the hotel and before joining some colleagues for dinner, I headed for a couple of icons. This ended up being within 100m of where I was staying, which was very convenient I must say. A little chilly with the wind this afternoon, but it's never enough to prevent the hunt going ahead. Big GrinAt GZ, there were limited options for hiding places, so after ruling out the easy ones, I changed approach and located the container. Tricky to retrieve and I was very conscious of the risks, so careful extraction was the key. Wink Log out, my name was etched and I tucked it back as found.Nice to be back in Adelaide for a few days.Cheers TeamAstro.

Oops. Forgot to log this one. I had gathered the co-ordinates for this over a couple of years ago and have been to the final site a couple of times now but couldn't find it. Today it was evening and a bit quieter. I also did a bit of research looking through the photos and logs and this time round and had a fair idea where this could be. Came to the final area with naughtybunny and this time we had it in our hands right away. Yay. TNLN. Cheers.

Out and about again, nice and early leaving as stragglers were leaving establishments in a bad state. Made a few finds and a few I stopped looking after 10 minutes (5 passed on) as time was at a premium and wanting to grab as much as possible.

Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds today

Thanks to all the CO’s for the hides I found.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 24. Blackwood SA trip Day 5. I decided to head into the city to walk around getting some of the puzzles and multis I have been avoiding for some time now. The walking seemed never ending and some caches sent me the wrong way. It was not entirely successful, but some I could bot do today, I managed to revisit on Saturday. I must say there still seems to be a huge numbers of caches in the city to be found and i will have things to do on future visits.

This very back bit of Adelaide was none the less hosting one other person smoking just over the fence, so after a little too and fro making sure I had not overlooked any other spots, I eventually had a clear run and it was there, I just need to be a bit taller, but climbing solved the problem.

Thanks for the cache TeamAstro

Got some assistance in making sure I had the correct coordinates and as we were walking past did a slight detour and arrived at a deserted GZ not many spaces that a cache could be hidden and I extracted the container from the first place I checked.

Final day in Adelaide and after dropping our bags in storage SirFancy and I walked around the city grabbing Adventure Labs and whatever else we passed along the way.
We ended up walking about 10km and by the time we arrived at the airport to catch our flight home had collected 12 finds, 22 Adventure Labs & 0 DNF’s.

Finished our footy/caching weekend, now it’s time to travel home, late flight means more caching time in the city. All finds and no DNF’s today.

What can I say but Adelaide you put on a hell of a show and so many fantastic cachers and caches.
I hope to be back one day to hunt down even more.

This is my 4509 find.
Thank you TeamAstro for placing and maintaining this cache.

Spent a week in Adelaide. Thanks to all the Cache Owners for their contributions to this recreational activity.

I collected the information for this multicache after completing "Don't Look at the Sun". Made a short detour on the way back to my hotel to find this one. It took a message to the CO to help me narrow down the cache location. A quick find after stepping up and reaching in. Thanks!

Went for a geolunch expedition with Cheezel1961 today. Arrived at the final GZ and was impressed at the hundreds of cars on the wall - pretty cool spot! Scoured the area and then PAF'd the CO who kindly provided assistance on where the final was hidden - a good hiding spot! And good to get an older cache that was created many years before I started caching.

Out for a walk with weredunn4 today, oh okay, and targeting a couple of caches. This being one of them
Had a good look around, coords were a bit bouncy there, but no joy at all.
Gave the CO a call for a pointer, bingo we were on it like a flash. Located, signed and returned in a jiffy
Also gets a favourite point from me for the hide and location

Was in the city for other commitments but decided to get a quick cache as well.

I had solved the coordinates for this one earlier in the year but didn't find. Luckily today I found it.

Stamped the log book and returned the cache to its hiding spot.

Find 17 of 29 on another busy caching day - on foot and by e-scooter, hoovering up nearly all the CBD Ad Lab locations around North Adelaide and then when we ran out of purchased e-scooter time, back on foot for the late afternoon.

Back out for the afternoon and this was the closest unfound. Had to use the naturally available step up to retrieve the cache which we had first pushed futher in! Happily we did get it out and put it back in a friendly position, possibly for the next hunter to push it back in.

TFTC TeamAstro!

Was in the city for other commitments today but decided I would get a few caches since I was already here.

Since it was a Sunday I thought muggles wouldn't be a problem, until I got to GZ.

Too many around to go searching, got odd looks just for walking through.

Will return one day.

Was in town today to take advantage of easier parking and not so many muggles on the public holiday to find some more lab waypoints and managed to find some physical caches as well. This was one of them. First for the day and the one that probably took the longest. Got to GZ and started looking in all the places it wasn't. Eventually resorted to a PAF, and then another but got there in the end.
Thanks TeamAstro for putting this cache here

I looked at Sungrazer mid 2019. I did the required calculations and saved it for a convenient time. I visited GZ the first time and aimlessly wandered looking here and there. At a subsequent joint FTF on North Tce I spoke to a cacher who knew where in the galaxy this one was hiding, and he confirmed I was in the right galaxy. Quite some time passed and I revisited and checked a number of locations without success. I contacted another cacher who confirmed its location. I had inspected that spot thoroughly and concluded that the cache had entered the black hole further than I imagined. I returned on another occasion only to be muggled out by the nearby building works. Thankfully I have got away with not paying for parking up til now. This one remained in orbit until a space vacuum occurred (early morning on a long weekend).

I am not sure why this came to mind at 6am today, but my internal orbit clock realised a lwe was occurring and I should launch the geomobile into urbanity asap. I grabbed a number of TOTT and headed off. I arrived only to find 7 people having a meeting on the ground right near GZ. What, its 6.45am. So I waited, and waited. 15 minutes later I started the car and headed off. I look back in the rear view mirror as I exited the carpark and they were walking away. Booyeah, 5 seconds later and I would have left orbit.

I re-organised the geomobile to be right by GZ and took out the TOTT. With clear light and careful studying I could definitely see something in there. A half coat hanger (500mm) did not even get close, so I unravelled it and with a full metre I could jag it. I took the cache back to the boot to sign, just as a local decided on a nature stop on the nearby fence. Meh. I waited for his departure and replaced the cache. I am fully aware that the instructions say to put back as I found it, but I didn’t. Others had indicated it was not that deep, so it is now shallower, but you will still need a retrieval device.

I drove off highly satisfied on this one. It has been a long time coming, and many visits have resulted in a glowing success. Thanks for the cache Team Astro, a FP for you.

Worked out the final co-ordinates some time ago, but had left it as I thought it was in a construction zone. I should have placed a Watch on it because it wasn’t and I would have seen that others found it. So today I took a walk to GZ and could place my fingertips on it, but couldn’t retrieve it.
So tonight I returned with fluffymaxi and together we were able to retrieve it.

We did the first part of this one many months ago, but didn't have time to get to GZ.
We've been to GZ four times now, and until today, have been surrounded by muggles each time.
Today was a late afternoon venture, too late for the lunch crowd and too early for the night time revellers.
Armed with Michells and Hound's pointer, we knew exactly where to go. After we waited out a truck entering the nearby building site, Wal got on one knee and Ol took a speccy!
Great multi, fave from us. TFTC

Didn't realise this cache was here, as it was always hiding behind 'Don't look at the Sun Red Face.'
Sussed out the numbers, did the projection and ended up in a place we'd seen photo's of, but never knew its location Razz. Really cool to see it up close CoolBig Grin.

We haven't found many TeamAstro caches in the past so it's nice to add another to the list. This one fortunately required little travel although we did need to resort to a familiar website to complete the required calculations to find GZ. Once there, however, a quick find was made in the most obvious spot, despite some workmen hanging around nearby on a Sunday afternoon! TNLNSL TFTC

As I visited the more than nearby other solar multi-cache I collected data for this one. I also visited my calculated GZ, but found nothing there. I probably made a mistake with the basic data. Well, well, one of two geocaches is much better than none of two. Smile

Today is a good day and worthy of a celebratory pint at the Playford before getting the train home. Returned to GZ armed with some intel on the hiding spot. I know now why I hadn’t been able to get this one before I am just not tall enough!! today I was aided by some fortuitous extra elevation and once I had finished speaking to Mum in the UK was able to make the retrieval and return swiftly. TFTC Astro another nemesis bites the dust it’s been fun!

After attending the Hidden creatures event, the Adder, Rat and Starfish headed off into the city to seek a few risky caches under the cover of darkness, clear skies (TM) and muggle free time. We had seen a number of pictures posted on other social media sites and had always wondered where it was. Well here at GZ we found it. With a less vertically challenged member with the trio it was a difficult cache to extract but with the care that we always try to achieve it was finally in our hands. Log stamped and carefully replaced, a great multi off the books. TFTC

Utterly defeated at GZ didn’t even think I was in the right place to begin with and then saw them all. Went to initial WP twice as first time didn’t think projection could be right. 2nd time same result. GZ eluded a cache for me tonight, ran out of ideas and ended up calling it quits after 30 minutes. Will bring the geohusband next time. TFTH.

Visited this initial location nine months ago to find the final waypoint. However a rough field calculation had led me in a completely different angle, so couldn't find the first time around (obviously). At the GIFF night, the CO advised which landmark I should be at for this one, so checked my calculations to find my mistake.

Whilst going on a lunch run, called past this cache. Searched for a small amount of time before taking a step back and wondering where a good cache location would be. Then quickly found, although coordinates seemed 10 m off (possibly my GPS with coordinates bouncing around here). Thanks TeamAstro, enjoyed this multi-cache, and what a great Adelaide landmark!

With the planetary pursuit underway I went for a short stroll after Uni in search of a few caches. It was a pleasant stroll in the afternoon sun and at my first gz I made a surprisingly quick find despite the many potential hiding spots. The next two gz’s I visited both proved to be potentially high in muggle activity however with stealth tactic deployed I was able to make some relatively quick finds before deciding to call it a day and make my way home.

So we tried to avoid looking into the sun. Pretty difficult when you are this close.
And we found the coreect tome and gathered the data needed to get the slide rule and compass out to determine our final destination.
At the final destination the yellowness was intense but at least not too bright. As I wandered past I looked for the sort of place a sun grazer might hide. As it turned out it was in the first place I tried. Love that. Smile
Named added to the logbook and it was time to head onwards and outward further into the solar system.

Sneaking away from the event for a short time with a couple of others, I was able to re-attend here and rectify an earlier DNF. Have already discussed this cache with the C.O. earlier I has able to put my hand straight on it,Smile making sure this one didn't disappear like previous ones. Surprised
I am pretty sure I had actually been here before and found the previous incarnation of this cache but for some reason never logged it. It was all so deja vu for me. So glad to finally get a smilie instead of a frownie here. [^][^][^]
Thanks TeamAstro for a great multicache. Love the wall. Big Grin

found with hevwalker and clare007 before the Meet Adi at York event. Came back to clear up the dnf I had here last time as the cache was missing. Checked every where I checked last time and then checked somewhere else. Stamped the log and now to get some dinner.

hevwalker & I met sir_spectre before entering the Duke of York pub.
After mentioning a nearby cache, we decided dinner could wait a little longer.
The area was busy being Friday night, but the muggles were more interested in the ticket machine than us.
I'd not noticed the interesting feature above the wall, very cool.
Thanks for the cache Team Astro, a favourite

Too good for me today... Surprised

Thanks anyway TeamAstro...

I love the idea of this series, though sadly I won't be around long enough to get them all. The coords put me closer to the street but I spotted the container even in the dark. TFTC!

I found the clues I needed a couple of days before. Communication with the CO gave me a little more detail of where to look. The location the CO sent me to was not where I found the cache however. The clues were good and the cache was well blended into the environment. The wall was really interesting. Glad I was finally able to get this one before I left town.

Finally got around to cleaning up some city caches today, this being one. TFTC

Gathered info easily, and went by today to see where it is. Only know the rough area, and not really sure where to look. Didn't realize what I was really looking at, and was very impressed. It's really easy to act as if I'm interested in something else, when muggles walked past me. Checked a few places, and found the cache! Very very interesting GZ. TFTC!

Caught up with the CO after work while he replaced the (confirmed missing) cache. Keen to contribute, I supplied the pencil. TFTC Astro - this was a very enjoyable cache and a fantastic final. Worthy of a favourite point Smile

No luck for this squirrel and raccoon! Love the location - first visited this spot during a scouting event. We spent a couple of minutes searching with no muggle distractions - could be worth a CO visit Smile

Back again tonight and spent another 30 minutes searching. Still no dice.

Out for any early walk and found myself heading towards GZ. With no one around at I thought this had to be it, but alas I once again failed in my quest.

05-Feb-14
No luck tonight at the fabulous GZ. Hope to revisit early tomorrow morning with better light.
Confirmed my location/coords for GZ with a local luminary, however the prize evaded me.

Sorry for the late log. Mrs Scoobster was reminded at the Oz Mega that she is over a year behind in her logging! Smile

It’s always a relief when you discover that you can’t find a cache because it isn’t there. Today after the pub lunch, Owl went caching with Locuscache, Darksidelemm and Laighside Legends. LL put his hands on it immediately in a spot Owl had previously searched. Phew!

Found on a caching night out with Mr Honeysucker, Locus cache and TilleyTB
Cache replaced by Mr Honeysucker.
That's what I love about geocaching. It brings you to places you would otherwise not see. Loved the wall!
Sorry for the late log...no internet!

Out with Honeysucker, kinkell1, Tilly and Max for a short night of caching Smile
Managed to locus cache 7 smileys Smile so it was a good evening!

Love that wall and at night, by torchlight, it shows up a treat the variations in size and height! Cool
I also love comets and while I haven't seen one for years, they are great fun to look for late at night Wink
