Logs
As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Took a walk in to the cache yesterday. About a 1/2 km walk in from the west. There was a bit of a track & the scrub wasn't too thick.
Retreived the cache & it's contents & will wait until construction work at the dam has complete to find out if it can be returned to it's original location & re-enabled.
Will archive it if the location remains out of bounds following completion of works.

We weren't sure if it would still be there since the removal of the waterslide. But it is. I suppose it will be washed away if the dam ever fills to the 1 in 1000 year flood level which was their excuse for removing the much-loved slide! I'm sure it will be safe for a good length of time.

Walked through long weeds, past prickly pear bush, past dead kangaroo, through spider webs, around trees and over rocks. Finally found cache and returned by an easier and less fragrant route to the car.

Unlike the dam the cache is full !!! Where have all the waters gone, long time passing..... grabbed TB it's been here a while. TFTC
After a small amount of excitement and pain for our Geo-Boxer Luger when he got a large Tiger Pear stuck in the top of his right paw (he didn't like it much and retired hurt with K back to the BBQ). Onwards I forged determined to find the cache if only so my loveable pal Luger's pain wouln't be for naught! Once I neared the GZ I quickly spied a likely spot and had the cache in hand. Swapped out the TB for a GC SL TFTC. Beware the Tiger Pear!
Still working within 200m of GZ so dropped off Ganesha TB. Not a soul around this week but there should be a few cachers amongst the 4000 to 5000 visitors expected at Easter.
Tiny Tonka TB has helped me working at the dam all week and passed through the cache on Saturday afternoon.
Lovely spot, Turbo Chicken 3 went for a slide on a hot n humid day while Turbo 2 and Iveysleague went of in search of the Cache, had to avoid the scary spiders. AND the dam prickly pear got Turbo 2 while sitting reading the logs. Took the Japan coin to move on to another location. Thanks Turbo Chickens
Another find with the Turbo Chickens. One enjoyed a refreshing slide while we went for the hunt. Good spot not too hard to find. Look out for those spiders and prickly tiger pears they got one of us!! Thanks the Iveysleague
I had this job in the middle of our holidays and spent the morning assessing a potential new spillway site (which may eventually cut off GZ in a year or two) with State Water whilst the geokids exhausted themselves on the slide. Liked the area so much that we camped the night a bit further upstream. The cache and log remains in excellent condition for its age but the terrain rating is definitely over-rated. Many thanks.
Found this one today while heading thru the inverell area. Lovely little spot.
Took the travel bug. will move it on this weekend.

This is another terrific drive to an interestibg area. The dam is very low. We saw lots of Kangaroo's with joeys and thought it was fantastic. We enjoyed this immensely. I pulled a thorn from the ankle after we got home no doubt from the prickly so be carefull. Thanks for an enjoyable cache. Left a friend and took TB

The Qld rogaining/geocaching contingency worked together for a joint find on this cache. Had I seen the terrain was 3.5 I think I might have thought twice about going for this cache - the legs were a bit weary and tiger pear-attacked from the previous 24 hours! Luckily it wasn't too hard for us hardened rogainers. Swapped TB's and will drop a few more in and out for the miles. TFTC
Found with the Queensland Georogainers.
Dropped "The Travelling Bug" in & out for a NSW visit.

The Aus Rogaine champs were based only a few hundred metres from this cache - so while we were here, we changed hats for a spot of caching.
Bumped into the rest of the Qld Rogaine & Caching community in the carpark for a joint finding effort.
Even after walking 68km in the preceeding 24 hours, I think the 3.5 star terrain rating is a little over stated for this one - more like 1.5 stars.
Thanks to The Bank Men for the cache.

It was somewhat of a Queensland Georogaining visit today with a group of us from further north staying on site as part of the Aus Rogaine Champs. Having just spent 24 hours walking around the area with Rogainer, it felt like a 3.5 star wander into the cache but at other times I'm not so sure - unless it refers to the tiger pear which we'd also encountered. No swaps made. TFTC.
Took some muggle friends out while visiting Inverell who had never tried caching before. Mrs bloopy remembers camping here as a wee tacker but there was much more water around then. Dropped off badger TB and then enjoyed a picnic in the winter sun.
Staying at Copeton for a couple of days camping and as usual brought the rain with us. Nice spot for a cache. Left Geocoins and took spanner. TFTC.
Nice drive out to this location. Very quiet around the slides. Cache found without any problem. TNLN. Thanks The Bank Men.. R & L.
Spend many a holidays on those slides. An easy find close to the road.

Checked out the campground the night before but it all seemed a bit too organised for me so found a spot for some bush camping about 1km down the road. Much more relaxed with a little campfire. Then a nice easy find in the morning. TNLNSL, thanks.
A lovely detour from the main highways to find this cache. Thought I was in for a mad scramble up a cliff from the name of this cache. Who would have thought you would find this out here! Found tiger pear yesterday so was careful not to relive that particular incident here. Took Gold Coast patch, left padlock.
Can be a busy area at times. Today at 5 pm it was very quite with almost no one to be seen. Would be different on a hot school holiday time.
Took bottle opener left pink clamp. Plenty of goodies of all kinds.

What a fun playground! The kids had a blast with Di while Rich found the cache. We Took a carabiner and dinosaur puzzle and Left a super bouncy ball, stretch frog, video game and a pen. Also left We R Nuts TB.
Pity that the water is so low in the dam, but still a nice place to visit and camp. Took stickers and keyring and left keyring and dinosaur puzzle. Forgot to bring a pen/pencil to leave in cache.
My second cache for the day. Drove to within 40 or so meters of the cache and found it quite easily. Swapped a couple of items. The cache is reasonably full. As I was putting the contents back I noticed that there was no writing implement (I had used my own biro to fill in the log book). Maybe the next visitor cound bring a pen or pencil to put in the cache. Today is the second day of winter here and visitors to the park were very thin on the ground but I imagine that in summer there would be lots of people around and caution would be needed whilst finding the cache.
Been staying here on a fishing trip north, had a look for the cache on the way out, this is a nice place to spend a holiday. We will be back for a longer stay next time. Took the tape & travel bug, left a rabbit.

After a quick lunch courtesy of the Inverell McDonald's -- the McOz is not something I can buy in the US -- we zipped out to Copeton. OzMeg and I dashed into the bush and quickly found the cache, still in good condition and stuffed with stuff.
I took nothing, signed the log, and left a Qantas lanyard/pocket, an Edward Jones Mighty Grip kitchen tool, and Yellow Jeep Travel Bug #1102.
Thanks again for another quality cache!

We found it at 8:30 am after spending an enjoyable night camped nearby. We took a blow pipe & fan & left a tape measure & some batteries. This was a very easy 3.5 but they were not kidding about the tiger pear. Another very enjoyable cache.
