Having confirmed where the cache is (yes, we did have the correct coords), it appears that the water authority has blocked off the access into the area with additional fencing and a "No Entry" sign.
This cache may need relocation unless the difficulty is increased to perhaps a 4 and people are willing to get wet (which is not so bad on a hot day?).

Been wanting to do this one for some time so today was it. It was to be the last one for Stickler and I for the day. After making several trips across the wall re checking figures and calculations etc only to find that as best we know everything was ok. But unfortunately Stickler and I were unable to find the correct path to to what we believe was GZ.
More homework is required on this one.

After spending probably and hour or so here, we were obviously doing something very wrong. With a rating of 2/2, I didn't think a swim was warranted. Time to take stock to see where the mistake was made and try again another time!
Found 2.50pm Nice hunt, found it after about 15 minutes searching, Took frog + keyring, leave Tamper Tell + Tree. Thanks Derringer
Found it! There was a lot of walking back and forth which didn't appeal to me....I was terrified of dropping my keys in the water!!!
Nice multicache though, next time I will have to wear proper shoes...the prickles hurt!! TFTH

A year or 2 ago, I stopped here on the way to/from Melbourne, and thought about trying to find the cache. It quickly became apparent that I didn't have the time.
Heading to Melbourne again, and this time with some extra time up my sleeve, I stopped for a walk and managed to find it. Nice one Derringer. I'm glad I took the right path the first time.
Found at 2:50PM, TNLN. Thanks for the Cache.

Second attempt at this one. Tried a couple of weeks ago, but walked the last bit on the wrong side of the river. Took hair ties and left spider, ball, and new pen. Do I dare tell my girlfriend that her new hair ties came from a geocache? She just doesn't understand my addiction....

Found by Roma and Max.
Another interesting multi with some extrapolating of distance to final co-ords and compass guidance required to select the best route to GZ.
Took: Mini No Junk Mail plaque.
Left: Blue Magnetic Spring Clip.
Thanks Derringer,
from Romax.

Tried to do this cache today, did first set of co-ords got half way across spilway and was greated by workman telling me that spillway is closed. On way back to car I noticed a set of gates with signs and a big padlock (they were open) with signs on them that the spillway is closed for maintinance. Will try again next time I am up this way!
Team members include, Queen of hearts and Keymaster. Got through the multi section without any trouble. Just a short walk to the GZ and found it with a few minutes.

Found on 26/02/05 @ 1207 AEDST. This on had been on my list for quite a while, but I had never got around to it. Today, with the intrepid Malby the Geohound helping (when I didn't have to carry him over all the expanded metal walkways [:p]) we experienced the rushing water from a few different vantage points. At GZ I instinctively headed for the 'obvious' hiding spot before stopping myself and remembering Derringer's trickiness . The cache was found shortly thereafter in the next spot I looked

A great cach and good location.
Took: Stitch toy
Left: No junk mail sign.
Thanks for a geat one derringer!

Beautiful day for the 3rd of our 3 country caches! On the way to Yarrawonga for the night, thought we'd break the journey up a bit.
Thanks Derringer (again!)

Found in the dark at 1925 - pity it was so late, 'coz the view of the water would have been worth seeing. Nice place to stop for a rest and revival on the trip north from Melbourne.
Took: blue hippo

Found by Ray and Maya as the sun set on a lovely day of touring. We started our day at Sheperton at the Mammoth model plane fly-in then tracked our way home past the local caches. Some were sucessfull, and others were not. This it a nice location in the evening. We took the spinning dolls and left a hanky and a hippo. Thanks from The Nomads.
What a great spot for a visit and picnic! We wandered about aimlessly for half an hour then went hunting for the cache. After wandering aimlessly for another 15 minutes we decided we had taken the wrong path and backtracked onto the right one. It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Took the Texta Crayons and left the "Stitch" McDonalds toy.
Found 13:05, on a previous visit (almost nine months ago) Biggles Bear #2's access to the final location was impeded by a couple of locked gates. On this occasion the gates were open and a pleasant stroll was made to GZ, were the cache was found with a little help from Muzza.
Thanks Derringer for another enjoyable location TNLN.

Came cache hunting here as the sun started to set. The area was lovely and peaceful - until the cows started bellowing and the cockatoos started screeching.
I had Emu-J with me again. When I told her that this was a 'Derringer cache' she started to dredge up memories of "Elemental Forces", so she proceeded with great trepidation.
Her fears were unfounded, as this was as tame a Derringer cache as you are likely to find. Of course, we made the wrong decision and ended up with water between us and the cache! We retraced or steps and spent about 15 minutes searching before we came up with it.
All in all, an enjoyable cache. Thanks Derringer.
IN: Hamburglar (from a Perth cache), toy car

Found at 1550 after a great bbq lunch in the nearby park area (make sure you bring your 20c coins!). this one much more leisurely than our previous one for the day (pied piper) so we were glad. The long grass was quite tame (almost like someone knew we were coming and flattened it for us). Almost went up the wrong track (leaving us with some water between us and the cache) however soon got back on track with a quick check on the GPS. another fantastic area and well hidden cache (should always trust my first instincts after seeing a nice spot and then walking away).
Thanks Derringer!!!
Thanks Derringer!!!
Didn't visit the cache but did visit this cache page and found that all the logs are missing. I'm hoping that this note will trigger a new generate process and maybe retrieve all the logs (including ours). In case you're wondering, it worked!! They're back - as you can see.
Forgot to log this one after we'd found it. It was a couple of days after we found the "Shepparton Waterways" cache so I've guessed the date.
Great location. Took a stroll along the weir all the way up to the flowing water.

This was an impulse cache search. We were driving down the highway and noticed the roadsign which reminded us of the cache name. We had never seen this structure before and it is very impressive. You do wonder how they could possibly build it with the tools available - it really was a long time ago. The power present in natural forces are particularly obvious here.
After gathering the clues we headed off to the cache location. The signs of previous searchers were obvious in the long grass which tended to both help us and confuse us. Still, the cache was located in a fantastic hiding place at 5:50pm. We wouldn't want to do this cache in the height of summer due to the risk of snakes. The local thistles have to be seen to be believed so thick jeans are essential - don't even think of doing it in shorts!! We took a M&M green Keyring and left a green Frog Clicker. By this time we were somewhat late for picking up the other team members from the Canine Nannie so it was a bit of a rush back to Melbourne. Thanks Derringer - you gave us two entertaining caches this weekend.

Found at 1.50PM This is a place we have driven past many times but never taken the time to visit. Fortunately I didn't change into shorts until we had found the cache and were about to leave the park (see GeoQuacks log). Thanks for finally getting us into this park. Nothing exchanged. Greg and Bev
My first (of two) Derringer caches on my way back to Melbourne from Barmah via Shepparton. I was always intrigued by these structures as a child and I still am fascinated every time I visit one. I liked the exploration and inspection, and found the cache easily once the info was gathered. My legs, which were wearing shorts in appreciation of the perfect weather, did not like the grass that I had to walk through to get to the cache though. They got itchy at the time and have since come up in big welts.
I made no exchange and thanks for the cache. My first of Derringer’s and probably their easiest. I can’t wait for some free time when the GeoQuacks will be able to go hiking… With corner capers gone, I wonder where we’ll go?

Found by Yakithi & family at 3:40 on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Nice trek into the bush, but lots of giant mozzies today.
Good to see the river running high again after such a long time.
Took a sticky toy and left a key ring

Collected the clues, then headed off on a pleasant walk out to GZ. Found the cache easily after checking a couple of other possible hiding spots first.
I took nothing but left a 'Stikky Toy'. Thanks, Derringer, for an enjoyable cache. Pity there were no hills around.

Found by Mary & David at 1005. Quite a wait for this one. We did all our sums at our first visit but had to wait until today for the gates to open to give access to the cache. (We also checked the Weir hotline to make sure things were still on schedule.) The effects of the drought are certainly evident here. Wonder how those dependent on irrigation are managing?
A really nice walk to GZ and, despite the lack of elevation that is normally a feature of Derringer's caches, there was still an element of adventure involved. A magpie chorus greeted us at GZ as we discovered the cache. Took a date stamp and TB Croc for a short hop north. Left Japanese spinning dolls from Big Culvert. Our thanks to Derringer.

As per Maccamobs note: will reactivate cache when the site reopens to the public.

We made a start on this cache this afternoon, but the structure in question is closed until about mid-July for 'inspection'. We will return then to complete the task.
