Logs
After a little while looking it turns out it was in the first place I looked! Ill remember to trust my intuition - TFTC!
Looking in about 5 other spots before realising I should just turn around. Log book was a little damp, but still able to be signed. Tftc
Thankyou! Logs were unfortunately a bit wet. Crazy to see logs before I was born!!
Grub62 had her eye on this cache to fill a hole in her hidden dates calendar. A quick find after reading the hint muggles were a problem though but we managed around them. Sadly all the logbook bags were holed so all the logbooks were wet. We hadn't brought spares of either. Thanks for maintaining the cache and TFTC.
I have been wanting to find this cache for a little while as I need the date placed of this cache to fill a space in my placed calendar.bunadoorian and I came for a walk today while it was overcast but not raining. I have driven past here on many occasions but I don't think I have stopped here and walked around before. bunadoorian was the first to find this cache. TFTC and for bringing us here - Quasar. On the way back to the car I took the detour up to the Eastlink Lookout - a bit dissapointed as I thought I would be viewing the Eastlink Roadway- not just looking back over the parkland we had walked around.
Thanks. Found between rain showers. Interesting to see how high the water was in last night's rain storm.
TFTC.....this one took us a little while longer, ahhhh those muggles on bikes and muggles with dogs
10:48It is great to see such attractive & well cared for bushland areas close to town. A local, passing by, warned us to watch for snakes. Probably slowed our searching a little, before we located the cache. Thanks to Quasar for hiding caches in interesting locations. 36544
Went a bit too far towards the creek, but came back out after reading the hint tftc!
Nice find today, even saw fairly big fish in the water. Thanks for placing.Enjoyed this one.
Had a couple of considerate cycling muggles asking if I was OK. Yeah, mate, thanks.Little did they know. TFTC
#1375 - A lovely walk along the Mullum Mullum train this morning for some caching action. Great little location.

We have a few cache finds in this area, and we need a cache today to keep our streak going, so yep we found after a nice but cold walk.
Wow this container reminds us that youngest geodaughter was nearly 3 months old when you placed this cache @Quasar. Fantastic that we can find this cache in good condition after being here (or nearabouts) all this time.

Thanks to Quasar for this hide.
A pleasant walk along the trail in the drizzle, but that was getting lighter.
A quick find after the Jack Russell and its owner headed around the bend.

After a recent trip to Queensland that helped fill a few gaps on our JASMER, we found two gaps for our AUSMER (all the possible hide months still available in Australia). We had an unexpected opportunity to cache in Melbourne today and noticed two caches not too far from each other would fill those two spaces. So off we headed to find those two caches. This was the first of the caches.
We parked nearby and set off for a short walk to GZ. It sometimes amazes us how you can find pockets devoid of human sounds even this far into suburbia, and this was one such place.
As we wandered down the path, we heard bird sounds and the sounds of wind in the treetops, so in a way, it was a moment on Shinrin Yoku.
At GZ, we quickly found what appeared to be the original cache container. We signed the log book noting that the cache is in excellent condition.
Thank you, Quasar, for hiding this cache so long ago and maintaining it on the game board.
A favourite point from us for this Traditional cache's location and longevity.

Nice to find such an old cache still going strong. Thanks for keeping this one alive for 20 years! Thank you Quasar for placing and maintaining Bridge over troubled water for us to find today.
Find # 1805.

Find number three for today's attempt at getting to a hundred caches by the end of the month. Can she do it? No one knows but there will be an attempt!
The water was certainly troubled today with all the rain we've been getting! I'm grateful for the gap in the clouds but unsure how long it'll last. I accidentally walked right past the cache but quickly found it when I went back. It was great finding something that's been around for a while and is different to the usual plastic container.
Thanks for a great cache!

Needed to wait for muggles to clear, but found this one pretty quickly. Could not sign the log as we failed to bring a pen. Pen supplied is not working either Dreary day, but brightened up after find this treasure, TFTC!
喵 found it first while I was poking a colourful spider nearby Thanks for maintaining such a historical cache!
Are we friends wanted to give up because it was in the bush and we didn‘t want to get or in there because it’s really spiky but then we found it and yeah it was fun but really big though
Wow! Always such an amazing feeling to find a cache that is almost 20 years old!
Today I wanted to focus on trying to find a cache that would help me get one step closer to qualifying for the [AUSmer Challenge (GC6XVTD)](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6XVTD).
Well unfortunately I got off work really late and decided to just try to find the nearest cache that would help me fill in my Ausmer grid. So I opened up Project-GC and searched by my missing months, when I saw this one. A June 2003 cache!
*Oh! Not to far away!*
So I hopped into the geomobile and parked as close as I could. The sun was quickly setting, so I had to rush and by the time I got to GZ it was almost completely dark. However, that didn't seem to bother any of the local muggles, as I couldn't really use my torch, otherwise I would have drawn alot of attention to myself. So I resort to just trying to feel around for the cache.
Luckily, my geosenses were on point tonight, as it was a quick search before the cache was finally found.
I would have love to have read some of the old logs, but unfortunately I had no time this evening.
A big thanks to [Quasar](https://www.geocaching.com/p/?guid=037ea1ff-3296-46ac-a3c5-8f2798d812ef&wid=766a5734-b97d-4055-9886-dc8c57814d40&ds=2) for keeping this cache alive for some many year! It was truely a pleasure to find this cache.
*Woohoo! June 2003 Done, One Step Closer to Completing my Ausmer!*
**Cache Maintenance Status**
The cache container is still holding up fairly well for it's age. The original logbook is a bit wet, but the replacement logbook was still in ok shape. Clean and dry.

Had some amazing views of the nearby creek looking for some platypus's (platypi? Platypus's?) Unfortunately didn't see any. What we did see however opening the cache was a large spider egg sack ️ which we promptly removed and saw no related spiders (phew) fun cache to find. TFTC quazer!
Lovely walk along the path, easily spotted, caches signed and replaced by fellow geocacher seagul_lad.
As I was walking about and planning my adventure, I spotted this one and it was a little out of the way. However, silly me walked right passed it, heading to the next cache. Realizing my folly, I had to backtrack to collect it.
GZ was easy to locate, and the lid had fallen off the cache. I put everything back together and hid it accordingly. It's nice to see these older ones still getting about. Thanks for keeping it running for so long.

The aim of today was to target 4 old caches in the Eastern side of Melbourne to help me with my Ausmer Grid as after completing my D/T grid recently that is the next grid to fill out.
So got up nice and early (On a Sunday who does that) to be able find those and any other ones in the area.
I grew up in Ringwood originally and this area had changed so much and Eastlink is very close by which I happened to use to get back over to here today.
I remember visiting the cottage with mum and dad and also with the scouts.
A nice walk along here and it was very quiet on this nice cool morning and I had the place to myself.
Another oldie ticked off and thanks Quasar for keeping this one going for so long.
Thanks Quasar TFTC.

Among many other challenges and goals which i am working toward on this trip is the LGA challenge and filling my jasmer and placement date calendars. This nice old one was perfect for me, thanks.
Work arranged itself rather nicely this week giving me a period of six days off. I spent a bit of time working out which direction i wanted to head for caching fun and decided to have another go at Melbourne and the surrounding suburbs. I then took quite a while coming up with a list of caches to target, there are just so many possibilities! I packed, had accommodation sorted, and even had a muggle caching buddy lined up to do the driving. Perfect!
Too perfect... . Plans changed at the last minute and i came down to the city solo and without the accommodation option. I wasnt sure if i would keep the rest of the plan or head for the hills instead.
Well i have been here four days so far and im still here. Caching the peninsula was fun interspersed with visits to various beaches. Then i spent a day in the hills to the east and now i am wandering in the eastern suburbs. Im glad i decided to persist with the plan and stay down here, its been a blast.

this was a very bust trail joggers, walkers with dogs, bike riders, and one geocacher!

Bit of a journey to get here but well worth the visit. Thanks for maintaining this old cache
This was one of my target caches for today as it is an old cache on a month/year I haven't yet found. A challenge to chip away at. The cache sure did look old but not much time to look given it was in such a busy location. I got it back in it's hide with about 5 seconds to spare. TFTC
Found this cache on a stroll through this reserve on a dreary looking day.
What a lovely place with heaps of bird life!

Certainly no bush bashing required. A quick cache to complete while walking through this lovely green space. Thanks

Out today with Master Trouble who had found this previously. So showed Mrs80 very quickly retrieved and log signed. TFTC
We were wandering around this beautiful area and took a break to recover this cache from it's hiding spot.
It's interesting to read about the freeway from before it existed. It seems like it has already been there for ages.
Thanks Quasar for the cache and the historical perspective.
Chiefton!!!

Quick and easy find. The plastic bag that holds the pen and log is falling apart however. Still dry though (for now). TFTC
Out doing a local adventure lab with geo son. We decided to stretch the legs a little further and do a traditional.
What a bewdy! Great to see all the old logs. Nice! In Melbs for a few days with the fam and after all this time the planets aligned and I was able to spend a couple of hours doing a few caches in this pocket that I seem to remember was so contentious. Really nice to be in bushland so close to the burbs. Quick find at GZ - TFTC AND THE FUN and a fave for longevity!
Popped into this area today to try out an e-scooter with geocaching.
Scooter went great and cradle made short work of carrying the phone.
Some hills just got a bit too steep for us both though. Ha.
Glad to have found this old timer today.

With my son starting work at 5 am, I offered to give him a lift. With it going to be a hot day, I thought I would go for an early morning geocaching run. It had been too long since the last one and I had until noon before needing to be home. Didn't get everything I had planned, but got home at 11.45 am after an enjoyable morning.
Today I thought I would tackle some oldies and some DTs that I needed and any nearby that caught my attention.
Found this oldie at 8.10 am in the second place I looked.
Thanks for the cache Quasar

Racking up the Jasmar miles and enjoying this glorious part of Melbourne. Dalerious and I had a ball driving around collecting these wonderful old caches.
I haven't been to this area since I was a kid. I vaguely remember coming to the cottage for a school trip many years ago. I can't believe we've never come here with the kids before. It's just inside out allowed travel distance and it's so beautiful. I wish our local creek looked like this instead of being underground. Tyftc
Took it home and dried and cleaned. Replaced in the original container, with old log books in one bag for anyone who wants to view them. Managed to salvage most of the old logs. Replacement log book - please use this from now on and ensure lid is on properly. All good to go now, back in the same place.
This 18 year old cache needs some TLC. Taking it home for drying out and will replace shortly.
