We have been out on the peninsula today and began the day by looking for this cache. However it was our only DNF for the day! We have decided to archive the cache and leave this site open for someone else.
Clambered up & down, Poked & prodded various likely crevices, as did Dear Hubby (who at the moment is getting dragged along, but quickly gaining an interest) - I was sorry to not find this one. A lovely spot.
It really does need checked.
It really does need checked.
Its been a while since this was found and now, sadly, a third DNF - it would be good to check if its still there, Sallies.
I searched this spot for quiet a while and I am sure that it is gone,I found some good places it could have been but certainally no cache,, It may need checking,,cheers
I was sure I was in the right spot but because I was with the tramping club couldn't spend too long in looking.
Had to visit Diamond Harbour to check on daughters house while she is overseas so thought I had better check this cache out as we always seemed to be in to much of a hurray when we come to visit her. Beautiful afternoon and great views.

Beautiful view, fantastic weather. Who could ask for more? Thanks Sallies!
Beautiful day today, had lunch at Stoddarts, then off to find this cache. The description made this a very easy find, and nearby seat is a great viewing spot.
Zaedyn took Spider, left glow in the dark key ring.
BTW, cache needs a new log book, ( out of paper )

My first find in the Southern Hemisphere, and what a lovely walk. Found with Sir Cloudsley and friends from Diamond Harbour. Thanks for placing this one.

Our first geocache downunder. Our neice (who was on her first geocache) found it after decrypting the clue. We took the magnet and left a spider (plastic).
Brought Grandmother, who is visiting from overseas, across the harbour on the ferry. Had lunch in the Godley pub garden, then went caching. Started from the new graveyard and the approach was easy. We've been on this path more than once and it is worth walking again -- great views. Took marble, cocktail umbrella. Left: purple caterpiller and Thomas the Tank card. Cheers.
Short walk out to the point while staying the night 300 metres away at Godley House, Great Veiws. thanks

Took a nice drive around the Bays in Christchurch today and stopped nearby this one as it turns out so decided to pop up and see if we could find it. Easy find in a fabulous viewing spot. TNLN Cheers!
Easy find while exploring the cliff edge track. The fog made if difficult for the boaties below to spot us. TNLN
Did this one as a quick lunch time cache as I was over here working from Ashvagas. TFTC

Found this on a glorious Canterbury late afternoon. We finished the day off by sitting on the wharf eating takeways from the Godley House complex in the evening. Spectacular scenery. Took Kiwi figure and penguin pin. Left a 'hamburger' rubber and a cocktail unbrella. The drive to and from Chrischutch was beautiful.
Ventured over to Diamond Habour for ice creams and this cache. Found with ease afetr decoding clue. + torch, - antactica pin.
A good little walk to start our first ever trip around the Peninsula. Ripapa Island to the NE is fascinating - turns out it was a "Maori pa before it became home to Fort Jervois, built in 1860 to repel the 'Great Russian scare'. The Island was then transformed to a prisoner of war camp and housed the famous Count Felix Von Luckner." Had to use the clue. No exchange. Thanks - Tony & Anita
Found this one after xmas lunch (needed the walk!) with Sp00k and Ciotach. Nice little walk and good spot, thanks Sallies!
Daughter Nikadoodle is over from Aussie for Xmas so we are getting in as much Geocaching as possible, did this one after a family Xmas Lunch at Orton Bradley Park. Quite wet and miserable when we left the truck but was an easy find. Co-ordinates were spot on. Ciotach was some way behind us going down the hill and managed to turn right instead of left when she hit the track but we found her just before I was about to panic and call for help.......
Thanks for another great cache location Sallies.
Thanks for another great cache location Sallies.
Found on a beautiful Friday after a whole week of foul weather. Added bubbles. Cheers Sallies. Andre's first cache that he has been able to do some of the walking on his own (if only a few steps).
What a great little track. Should have explored this ages ago. Had to wait for an overly amorous couple making out on the seat to move before we could nab this one. The things you see while cache hunting!!!
Thanks Sallies for another lovely location - the view is magnificent - and the little walk to get there was very pleasant in the shade of the pine trees. Cache was almost too easy to find. By the way, the little logbook pages seem to be full, and the pencil is running out - getting rather short for my clumsy fingers!! Yes, I must actually go out to Ripapa Island some day. Heading off to Monument and Mt Herbert.

Wow! The view from this cache is amazing. We sat on the seat and watched all the yachts tacking up the harbour. Another cache hidden in typical Sallies style . Thanks for taking us there.
Nice little spot for a cache. Came out and hunted this one with Nandor, who was eventually on the case with the parking location .
Ok - so I had a little trouble identifying a near parking location - but we got there in the end. Dropped off the 'Upper Class' TB and took some pictures. I was still following the GPS around (Which was telling me to walk off the nearby cliff) when Swanny spotted the cache in a place I'd already looked. Oh bugga. Actually - come to think of it, the only cache I found tonight was one that Swanny had actually already found himself? Ahh. Cheers
Good hiding spot and good enough clue to find in not much time. Forgot what I left, I think a seahorse keychain.
Thanks!
Thanks!
The GPS wanted me to be back on the track but found the box in the end. Lovely views of the area. Nice walk. TNLN.
14.00: The second one that Sebastian found without having any description. Beautiful view over the harbour. Wheelchair access is possible, but path/road is steep (in parts).

Found quickly, once we were in the right area. Great views, and tranquil surroundings. Thanks. TNLN.
The co-ordinates were spot on but it still took some finding. The cache contents were a little damp but not too bad. No swaps.
Thanks Sallies

Another lovely spot! So many people in Diamond Harbour today, and quite a few at the park. Nice walk it, and didn't have too much trouble finding the cache. Some guys below had the right idea fishing in the small bay and having a couple of quiets. No exchange made. Cheers Gav [262]
Last of three for the afternoon (day trip to ChCh from Hokitika as I've run out of caches to hunt for at home).
Brrrr Cold Easterly, Couldn't see the Lyttelton Heads.

Found the cache easily after reading the clue. Although we had to wait a long time before a man sitting on the seat got up and left, so we could do our searching. Nice view, wasn't the best of weather though. Had lunch and a pint at Godley House.
What a beautiful walk! We stopped to find this cache after spending the day swimming in the frigid water of Akaroa Harbour with the dolphins. Then we took the scenic drive to head back to Christchurch and that's how we ended up here. We were sure of the spot but it still took several tries to find the cache. Nice one!

We spent way too long not finding this one. Poked around where it *should* have been according to the clues, wandered back up over the hill following the pointer on the GPSr. Back to where it *should* be... dig deeper... there it is.
Was amused to find stubby holder was the last finder in the log - seems like there's a run on for the aussie contingent.

Gorgeous day today and found the cache with only a few scrabbles among the pine needles.... took a dinosaur and left $1 nz coin........ - my first cache!!!!!!!
Great view at this spot on the way home from the ferry. Found without GPS with the assistance of locals Teledemon and KirstyPi.
Even though it was Christmas Day and we were looking over Lyttelton Harbour, we didn't see three ships asailing by!
A pleasant walk (we came in from the other end of the track) and a nice spot. We had the whole team along (Papa, Mama, Baby and Babier Bear) and we all looked and couldn't find it. The place it had to be was obvious enough, and when we finally looked at the clue it just confirmed that we were looking in the right spot. Just before we gave up, Baby Bear had one more look and found it! (Just looked at the spoiler photo and it was much deeper than that; beware next finder, as we put it back where we found it!)
Thanks for the Chrissy Pressie, Sallies, and we might do a couple more after lunch!

Checked this cache on our way back from finding Monument. Everything was dry and clean and the cache is well hidden.
A busy day on labour weekend for the park, butt little traffic on the track. Good access, well sited, and well described. Left a spectacle cord with a history - it survived a rough surf landing in a kayak. And the well placed viewing seat was put to good use.

Beautiful day and a nice sea breeze to cool me down after climbing all around Governor's Bay visiting "Tor" and gathering some more clues for "It's Poetry Guv". As I sat here and admired the view someone was practicing stalling in an aeroplane above - ah that brought back some memories. So many that I now can't remember whether I swapped anything or not. Cheers.
My GPS was stolen. But i found this one close. We just live up the road, so we thought we'd go for a look.
Pretty easy to find even without GPS. but i must have walked past it 10 times in the last 3 months without knowing.
Our 14 month old baby enjoyed the toys. sorry if they have any slobber on them

We had a bit of an interesting trip getting to and from this cache. We came over from Christchurch via Dyers Pass Rd, and the places that the sun had not yet reached were VERY icy, in fact Bernadette had to recover from a skid that what threatening to take use off the road! We came back via Lyttleton hoping that the road was better, but it still had a number of icy patches too.
Nice walk along the cliff to the cache... we really must find arrange to visit the island. I know on Sundays if there is enough people they take a trip out, but the three times we have tried there has not been enough people - anyone else keen to visit Ripapa Island?

Nice spot, great view. Pleasant walk back along the cliff as well. Lots of yachts parked in the bay, and a couple almost becalmed below us heading back. Took my mum along for a day out and an intro to caching. She found it too. Coords were pretty good ~4m. With clues like that who needs a GPS? -Blue pen, + Lizard from Quail View. Thanks from Liz, Wendy, Oli, Gary & Hg.
