Logging with Permission We scored an amazing day to be on the Island. No wind, bright sun, clear views. This is a truly amazing site and the highlight of our trip. Hired bikes at the port then checked into Manister House. Rode a loop of the Island grabbing the Traditional and this Virtual. Surprisingly for a Saturday there were very few tourists about which added to the sense of mystery and ancientness to the fort. Collected the answers, took a LOT of photos and then headed off to complete the loop ride. Cheers muchly from Australia (and 2 German Mugglets )
#13 in Ireland. I've been looking forward to this one for awhile now, seeing as Mrs. D has been telling me about it for years. We started planning our trip months ago and this spot always popped up on the list of places to visit. Funny thing is, Mrs. D can no longer stomach getting close to the edge. Well worth the effort getting here, it is an amazing place. Thanks!
What a fantastic cache. I knew it would be and wasn't disappointed.
We first found the trad on the island and then startd to head for this one. When we started to go steeply down hill we turned round as we didn't think we would make it and back for our ferry as the missus was struggling and I had Bijoubabe on my back.
We then stopped 5 min later and thought more about it. The missus took Bijoubabe back to the port (only took her 20 min) and I was to attempt to get to the cache and back. What a rush. Cycled hard only to find out that it was recommended to take an hour to walk up to the site and back again. So I ran(ish) to the top. Got my photos and jogged back down. Then cycled hard back. Didn't even take that long in the end. But exhillerating, both the ride and the find.

Looking over the edge scared the pants of me – but was worth it… I keep thinking about the view down 24 hours later

Wasn't feeling 100% today so took the bus around instead of the Bikes but still made my way up to the cache. Amazing views from here. TFTC
