We stopped to enjoy the lookout and after a quick play with the GPSr found that this cache appeared in an earlier search we'd made before looking for caches down the NSW coast. Happily, after pushing all the right buttons, we realised that we were within 5m of the hide (at least according to the GPSr). Unhappily, we then realised that the coordinates led us to a spot where the cache definitely couldn't be found. Even more unhappily we then realised we only had half the clue in the GPSr so we searched around for a while. One bong later we decided to give it a miss and continued on our way. On the up side, Ma Freak got to see the railway loop that she'd long heard about although again there were no trains today. Archiving and perhaps a new replacement sound the way to go to me.

AS the previous cachers stated-" I think it is gone' spent a while searching, just in case, and came up empty-well not quite-I stubled through some stinging nettles and regret it still.

Not going to log this one as a DNF as the cache is obviously missing and the owner has no intentions of verifying this as the first DNF was reported in MAY.... 7 months ago.

May I request you make the effort to go and check on your caches or archive them please.

Rob and I visited this site about lunchtime and although we found an obvious looking horizontal hiding place at the prescribed location, there was no cache to be found. Perhaps we had the wrong spot, but after 20 min of searching we called it a day, enjoyed the scenary and went on to explore northern NSW.

We were going to call in here last weekend but time got the better of us. Decided to go today after visiting Rogainers Lost Garden of Eden which is relatively close by. Followed all the hints and that led us to what we thought was the obvious hiding place however all that remained was two empty zip lock plastic bags.
Maybe we were looking in the wrong place as the cache was only last found 2 weeks ago. But it looks a bit sinister. The 2 bags will still inside what we thought was the hide but they were certainly visible to anyone walking on the return border loop path. Makes us think that someone has absconded with the cache itself and left the bags.
Will keep a watch on this one. Maybe we were just looking in the wrong place.

Had forgotten the clue for this cache and so spent a few fustrating moments going in ever greater circles from GZ. Found it eventually. Unfortunately there is not much left in the cache in the way of swaps. Will need to be restocked. We weren't able to do this as we were camping and only had enough swap items for the cache's we planned to do. TF our first NSW cache. Like previous finders we waited to see a train go through but no luck.

This is our first cache find in NSW. Big Grin It is a very pretty relaxing drive from Andrews Lion. We took a few photos from the lookout and waited to see if a train would pass but no such luck.

We sat down and had Morning Tea before heading back over the border.

Took: Keyring

This was a nice spot for a picnic with Mystery Ink. Thanks for the cache.

An easy find in a pretty location (even without a GPS). Replaced the cache container as log entries indicated that it was not in a good way. It seems the critters had been chewing on it. TNLNSL TFT"squibable"C.

Travelling back to Toowoomba from Grafton and decided to go via Lions road and snare some caches along the way. Lovely drive through here and great views from the lookout.
Found easily with one of my boys.
T: Wombat toy
L: Australian keyring
As per previous finders comments, another container would be beneficial if someone could come prepared.

Also liberated the TB

Finally got back to this one at a muggle free time. Cache is well concealed but would benefit from a new container if anyone is passing by with a suitable plastic bottle. Thanks for the cache, swapped the Chief TB for Sylvester TB.

Found this one at 9.00am on the way to Kyogle for the weekend & timed it perfectly as a train was on the loop

I've been meaning to grab this one for a while. Couldn't find it though. There is a brand new 'composto dunny' at the coordinates that has never been there on my previous visits. I wonder if it was there when the cache was placed [:o]

Was camping in Border Ranges NP and had the coords stored in the GPS (unfortunately not the clues) Looked in the obvious places all the same just in case.

12-May-06
Decided to pick this one up after doing "Andrews Lion", unfortunately we had not entered the co-ordinates into the GPS...but having read the description found it anyway.

Thanks for the cache.

Found it while out touring. GPS had us in the middle of bitumen carpark, so we knew that couldn't be right. Found it easily after checking the clue.
SL TN, left Choo Choo TB.

First cache in ages for us and a good one it was. Interesting bit of history and lovely area to explore.

Liberated Millipore Monkey TB from the container, which has been gnawed at by something, although everything is dry for now in ziplock bags.

Found this one on the way down from Brissie to visit friends who live on a farm outside Kyogle. Great spot for a cache - great views! Took the Toys baby t-shirt and little elephant to make room for a pack of Killkenny playing cards and the Millipore Monkey TB.

Cache is a tad full now, so the next finder might want to help the Monkey on it's journey! Smile

Cheers,
Crido

We were heading for Brisbane and had an overnight at Tenterfield which then led us up Lions Rd.
Road, rail and creek were all heading in the same direction made it such a pretty experience there was no sign of a train. It must be a great sight to see one from the Loop Lookout. Difficulty & Terrain rating was spot on, as was the GPS location. As there was some damage to the container, (from unknown animal) the moisture is getting in. Perhaps if you are going via this cache you could take a new container.

Good one, "The Elves" and thanks, would never have gone that way otherwise.

Set out from Kyogle heading towards the lookout. Beau&Ali were accompanied by first time Cacher, Spook! Part way there realised we were chasing a freight train & had hopes of seeing it pass through the loop. We arrived at about 3:00 PM & missed it by moments. Shame.

We set off in hope that the past 12 months hadn't seen the cache disappear. After a brief walk down a track we found the cache as hoped. Muggles had located it leaving a note to "hide your stuff better", but that was all.

We rescued Dolly & left behind an elephant. (Tip; if you forget to bring a swap, drop into Krazy Klarkes in Kyogle!)

Interesting bit of engineering & a bit of a local history lesson to be had. Thanks for a well located cache.

Just worth a note - when we drove through on the 24th, we found that the Border Road going from QLD south to NSW was closed for revamping from mid July to mid August.

Be wary if you are coming at this one from the North as you may get to an impassible spot and have a long drive around.

Good cache, container still has the nibbled hole in it but rest of contents were in good condition. The view was nice and the break from the long drive down was welcome.

1 out of 3 is not a good strike rate for my Easter caching! I was happy to find this one after missing my previous 2 caches. My sister actually spotted this one - took a small plastic toy and left a doll.

Have driven this road dozens of times, but I have never seen so much traffic as today - Easter Monday!

Thanks for the hunt

Happy New Year.Cool 1/1/2004 5:35pm DST

Finally found it. Didn't pace out to quite that far and looking at wrong end of log. We weren’t very organized, as we could have supplied another container if we had read this before we came. We replaced plastic bag though.

Took Kiwi & Golf Ball
Put in Childs T-shirt, Biro, Game, Toy & Puzzle sheet.

We found this cache completely by accident!!! Being naturally inquisitive Wink, I spotted something suspicious and went to investigate. My girlfriend Krista rolled her eyes and asked me what junk I had found this time. Neither of us could believe it when we discovered a hidden container with a collection of items and a note explaining what we had accidently uncovered. We are now virgin cache hunters! We didn't take anything as we weren't exactly sure what it was. Good luck to future hunters!!

A fairly easy find in a nice area. I think the cache has perhaps displaced some animal from its home as the bottom of the container and also the plastic bag has been chewed through.
Swapped a golf ball for the compass key-ring.
Thanks for the hunt,
Manta
