I had old information from my PDA, didn't fint it Sad maybe later

21-Feb-07
After a DNF just a few minutes before we wanted to take comfort with this one. The cache seems to be gone, as there is only one possoble hiding place (following the hint).
Anyway - it was a nice walk on a sunny day!

Thanks,

Wish we had read the comments before we tried to find this cache. But we were happy to have made the bike ride and find Lake Henry anyway. TFTC

16-Feb-07
Searched thoroughly including using excellent clue.? muggled.

16-Feb-07
Seems to have gone missing - probably a victim of the heavy handed park maintenance crew who managed to kill the tree in the first place while spraying grass.

08-Feb-07
Had a good search but couldn't find it. Then using the clue I found a pile of wood chips where I thought the cache should of been.

07-Feb-07
Searched the area that the CO-ORDS took us to but couldn't find it, used the clue which took us to exactly the same spot, still no luck. Think the cache may not be there now.The only cache we couldn't find on this trip to Te Anau.
Cheers

We loved this spot and are so grateful you led us here. Our head geocaching labrador (his portrait was left as requested) thought this place was magic - live rabbits leapt out in front of him and there was an entire lake to swim in.
What a visionary Ivon Wilson was, bless him.
We started the second notebook as the original was full. The second one appeared to have been scribbled in by young children, so we removed some of the more detailed pages.

An easy afternoon walk, though on a chilly summer day.
I recall being here 9 years ago when it snowed on New Years Day...
Thanks for taking us on this walk.

25-Dec-06
A very pleasant walk, once I had found the right track. Well hidden, pity about the original occupier of the site. (Yes it was Christmas day -- we were in Te Anau enjoying a break away from shivery Dunedin).

The logbook is very nearly full, BTW.

Walked around the bird sanctuary for a bit, and then went in search of the cache.
We were visiting our son Jon in NZ from the USA, and just got back to log all our finds.
Sad about the little tree, but still a beautiful location.
Took: $100 key chain
Left: black pawn.
Thanks for the fun,

Found this on our way south to do a cruise on Doubtful Sound. Nice location, not too hard to find, actually found by Mrs OldGimmer (her first solo find). Left Pinky and Perky TB and White Piece-Hall Traveller TB (I wonder how long it will take to get back to Yorkshire)

Found this on our drive from Dunedin to Te Anau. Found the track and enjoyed the walk to the cache. It was sheltered somewhat from the heavy winds.
Thanks from some San Diego, CA cachers

This is a wonderful place for the birds so the vision of Ivon Henry is now a reality. Long may this be...but the park in places is a little neglected and the the cache tree has been removed. But still a wonderful place.

First find of the day. Took a bit longer than normal as didn't have the GPS set properly Red Face.

20-Aug-06
Only 2km from home. Been to the lake before but never walked this part of the track or suspected there was hidden treasure. The tree has been cut down which makes it a little easier to locate the cache. The hiding place appears to be OK and with the spring grass growth should be more secure. Unless there is weed spaying in the future there should be no need to shift it. Took Geo50chevy TB and left Dont cross me TB.

Nice Spot for a walk. I didn't realise this park was here.
The cache was were it should be but the tree has been cut down. There is a note in the log to say DOC knew of the cache and have left it there. I think this spot is still worthy of a cache and another hiding spot is available very close to the original one.

It was a very nice walk from Te Anau centre, and I enjoyed the reserve and the lake. I did get a bit confused for a moment on my compass directions, but the cache was soon located. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf.

The only trouble with this one was were to park. This is such a nice place Thank you very much TNLNSL

01-Feb-06
Found this cache at about 9.30pm tonight, while visiting from Australia. Good spot for a cache, away from the main areas full of thousands of tourists (like myself). Te Anua certainly has no shortage of tourists, though more caches would be welcome.

Unlike most walks around lakes, this one doesn't seem to offer views of the lake, except in a couple of places. How odd Smile

Thanks for the cache. TNLN.

A nice little walk around a rather well-hidden Gardens area. Sunny, but still rather cold and windy. Strange thing: last time I was here (6.5 yrs ago) it was mid-winter and not much colder!! Not quite the sunshine and warmth of a summer holiday we'd planned. But at least there were caches! [^].
Cheers,
G.

This was the only wet day of my holiday, though in a dry moment managed to find this one. I took a look at the birds in the sanctuary too, which is just across the road and worth a visit.

This cache was found during my three week end-of-2005 visit to New Zealand plus a short stopover in Melbourne. Well the weather was a wee bit wet!! Walked in with my niece, dropped off "hot Stuff" travel bug key ring, and left all of a 10 minute walk. back at car total change of clothes (Yes I had a jacket!)but it did not help. (Don't bump the branches)
I learnt something today, pens don't work to well with wet hands touching the paper!

Thanks

Our first overseas cache find, left koala bear and took travel bug, sorry about delay logging find. Nice walk in a great location

26-Feb-05
Found cache and dropped off the sheep that has to go to Aussie, unfortunately being a sheep he was very slow to get to Te Anau and he missed his ride. Apparently Blatto or something similiar was there earlier today. Never mind someone will come along soon I am sure.

The cache is getting pretty full, someone needs to take away some of the larger items.

Beautiful place, we had the park to ourselves on a lovely sunny sunday afternoon. Very well hidden.

On a nice evening on the day of arrival. Really nice views from here. The park is not as nice as I'm used by now. You have such neat parks. The cache was well hidden, I touched it before I saw it. Thanks!

A pleasant walk on a beautiful, sunny afternoon. The pen was broken so Rodney ran back in and left 2 pencils.
+car and stretchy - tape measure
Thanks

01-Jan-05
Found this on the 1st or 2nd.

Took me a while to find, but found it in the end, well hidden spot and I had overlooked the cache twice before eventually finding. Removed 2 feathers as they were starting to grow mould and rot. Pen was ruined at the time, and looks like it might have been for a while as a few other people had difficulty writing in the log book. I didn't have a pen on me, or in car to replace in cache. Nice walk! Cheers.

30-Dec-04
Catching up on my cache logs. This was a nice way to start the day. A little exercise before the drive to Queenstown. Had to search a bit and finally used the clue to find the cache.

30-Dec-04
Found this on a cold, cloudy morning on our way out of Te Anu. Needed the clue as our gps was pointing us in another direction. TNLN.

25-Dec-04
A pleasant Christmas afternoon walk - and not very far, since we were staying in the holiday park next door. Surprisingly difficult to find even when we knew exactly where it must be; the bees were keen to guard it, too.

(Some water had got in - the pen was no longer working and the logbook was soggy; probably worth putting a pencil in there rather than a pen. We wrote a message in the log, but it might need writing over again with something that works!)
