OCW Meritonnn today, trying to find archived caches or at least their locations to use for new caches. Dan had an enjoyable time crawling through the tunnels. Found a fork and an old tin but no cache or cache guardians. Meritonnn had a go through one small section that was too hard for Dan's long legs. I think that she enjoyed the challenge.

The cache has been archived as it clearly violates Geocaching NSW code of conduct specifically Point 1 which reads.
Not endanger myself or others.

Second time unlucky on this one, I just don't think that I'm cut out for the squeezy slithering that is required for such caches.

04-Sep-08
Have you ever felt that today is going to be one of THOSE days? A DNF wipeout? Well after scrambling over from a DNF at Y, this one turned out to be the same again.... no cache!
As I crawled and slithered around this site, I was soon doubting that Tangles parents had ever actually married each other!
The cache guardians were sighted, but like Richary, no sign of the cache could I see!
Oh well off to the 'easy' China cache......

Cache is still there. You are in the right location just looking in the wrong spot.
BTW I am a skinny bugger and can squeeze into tight spots.

24-Aug-08
Well, it was only just over the creek. Made my way over and after a short search spotted the cache guardians. Unfortunately they didn't seem to be guarding anything as I could find a cache to go with them despite looking from a couple of different angles. Interesting just getting here though, I will keep an eye on this and see if it was just cache blindness.

After parking the car it was a short run through to this fantastic spot that before long saw Geodaughter2 sliding into some low down nooks and cranny's along with Tegator while I searched in a different area, when we all came up no trumps we decided to stand back scratch our heads and have another look at the situation. Before you know it we were onto it and I pulled the loot from it's location, after logging our finds and placing another snake in the cache I insisted on having Tegator replace it just as I had found it so as he did not miss out on any of the action. Another great find in another body bending postion Thanks Tangles well done! No Trackables, Nothing taken out Cheers!CoolCoolCoolCoolCool

We emerged blinking and grinning from the voidness into the glare of a rapidly heating day. The GPS said thataway to UK so thataway we went. A short straightforward ramble down to and across the rather beleaguered looking river and up the other side saw us at another entrance to the netherworld. A cursory look at the notes and clue and the hunt was on. Lady Altaire bravely squeezed the way in and even though forewarned, one of Tangles’ signature items elicited the squeak and back peddle I’ve no doubt it was intended to do. She really doesn’t like one of these in particular.

So it was my turn for a bit of speleology and very grubby did I get for not much reward. Altaire are comfortable in the bowels of the earth and it didn’t take long to prove a growing doubt. Not long afterward, following a bit of a reassessment of all available information, plus a dawning realisation of what a nasty piece of work Tangles can be when he has a mind, the box of tricks was safely in our hot, sweaty and grubby paws. We made no swaps here but had a very good chuckle.

So ended another excellent Tangles adventure cache.

Tricky, scary (snakes and spiders) and enjoyable.
We loved it.

Thanks Tangles.

Daave and I came here armed with all of the equipment that Tangles said we would or wouldn't need.

After bravely fending off the cache guardien, we made the find.

Cheers,

From the car, W-L and I walked along the river passing some awesome looking boulder problems! Does anyone know any grades???
Both of us had a nice crawl in the tunnel, but it was W-L who eventually made the find.

Keep it up Tangles,
Daaave

Our 50th cache and being somewhat of a milestone it had to be a Tangles cache.
So grab geo Jnr and the cache bag and off we go. Parked nearby, walked in easy and got to GZ without a hiccup. HOLD ON, this IS a Tangles cache and this is all too smooth so far. Anyway, take 'em when you can get 'em we thought.
Now for the final leg, we crawled, we climbed, we squeezed, we bled, we screamed, we almost gave up. Then, while taking a break before the DNF walk of shame out we thought Tangles cache, we thought what about there, we were rewarded.
As always Thanks for a great cache experience.

Rescued Voi Nam TB. Abandoned Gathering Nuts TB
Took: Game and Torch
Left: Pliers, Tape and 10 Malaysian Ringgit

Teamed up with Soy-Boy to find this one on our second attempt. First attempt with topo map and compass with no luck, second attempt with GPS proved successful. Took Mrs Incredible toy and left Mr Incredible pez dispenser. Great cache. Regards Grissom.

To log a find on this cache you must find the actual cache and sign the logbook.

07-Sep-05
Had a poke around the cache location and could not find any dangerous snakes but surprised that no one has spotted a Koala. Between this cache and our Y cache is the best spot to see Koalas in the wild in the Sydney region.

06-Sep-05
BEWARE, DANGER !!!
Found the location ok but unable to actually retrieve the cache. I sent my somewhat smaller partner in to retreive the cache - she was tentatively reaching out to grab it before realising it was in fact a coiled snake- possibly a brown snake hard to tell.

24-Mar-05
My second Tangles cache for the day.
I found this one fairly quickly after checking out the cache guardians!
There are some great cliffs across from the cache if you like a little rope work.
Took Nothing,
Left: (For the kids) Dinosaur Neopet and “Incredibles†Figure
(For the older kids) a Jewelers Screwdriver Set and a 3†G-clamp.

Thanks Tangles.

Finally found this one! Had visited a few times before without luck. Very sneaky hide Tangles.
I had Zactyl for company and he had found it a few months ago (didn't give me any hints though, calm down Tangles.Wink). It was dissapointing to see that some recent finders had not bothered to bring decent swaps and the cache contents were now rather uninspiring. Some Cachers perhaps haven't heard the "Trade up, Trade even, or don't trade" phrase.
Took a soap holder, left a Tape Measure, a Shaker Torch and a small jigsaw puzzle.

oh something i forgot to add... please take you rubbish with you when you leave found chip packets and whatnot at GZ Sad
sorry to be the rubbish nazi...

27-Dec-04
tried this last thursday... it rained Sad so i turned back after setting myself a waypoint to make ti easier when i went back.
took my brother on his first hunt yesterday and with my 1st waypoint down i slugged it along the long way! gawd it was hard going![B)] but we reached GZ in one piece (just). after a few mins search my brother came up with it... lucky we are both skinny. Didnt see any decoy spiders but didnt really look, after all this was my first bush cache Smile.

found a short way back to the car thankfully but it meant a bit of a climb.
after seeing all the scrapes and cuts Mrs Ving say she's after tangles' head!Razz
nicely placed cache
thnx tangles.

Wow, the BushPig really came in handy today. Its great to have a contortionist for a caching buddy, especially on caches like this one. Spiders freak her out but, lucky we never saw the decoy. TNLN

27-Nov-04
found this one with a bit of searching as there are many possible spots in the area, dont like spiders much so was good we didnt come across the decoy, very good spot!

We were already off to a great start, 2 easy ones done and 7 more to go was the plan! We took the low route to this one, which can be a little scratchy on the legs. We found the spot and Tim was in a hole before I could even drop my pack, Agg was in the same hole but from a different direction. Sounds like a script from a bad porno!

I decided to bring up the rear to see what was going on, take a few pics and shake hands with the guardian. Not wanting to be the only person not contorting themselves in a hole, I found a hole of my own down low to have a look in and crawled in for a bit of a look.

A change of tactic had me pulling the box from it's hiding spot. I grabbed some black slime and left a nice wire soap holder in it's place. The log was signed and Agg put it back once they were all finished with it.

Another brilliant Tangles cache.

03-Nov-04
By this stage we were wondering if Webguy was going to beat us to every cache we did today. We got to the spot and agg and I began searching in the most likely spot, while webguy stripped off and applied liberal amounts of vaseline. Fortunately the swag dog was there to lick him clean afterwards so I didn't have to. Nice one Tangles.

03-Nov-04
SWAG Tim, Webguy and I burrowed like moles trying to find this. Yes, we even found the decoy spider and thought that we must be close. However after emerging from our burrows and being blinded by the light Webguy managed to track it down. Took Space Blanket. Left Insulation Tape. Good one Tangles.

This is one of those areas that distract one from looking in the obvious place first.
Met Old Sod and Young Bugger, who kindly took a photo of Ruffnut, the two boys and myself.
TNLN.
Thanks Tangles.

24-Oct-04
First find for me woohoo. Wenst searching with Squarewheels and my kids. Met Old Sod and Young Bugger at the cache.

24-Oct-04
Hi Tangles, This was more up my alley, a bit of bush a bit of scrambling, and a hole lot of fun! Found the cache but had nothing to swap so we went of in search of something that would fit, when we came back we bumped into 'Square Wheels' and family, busy cache this one!

Anyway, Took the X-Men DVD, and left a 44gallon drum of Crazy Slime

Brought a bud along 'The Young Bugger', this was his first.

Regards The Old Sod.

24-Oct-04
My first.... a good induction to caching.. went with "The Old Sod". Next.....

03-Oct-04
Well this was fun. The worst part is when you arrive on location and say to GammaPiSigma: 'I bet it is in here' and the response: 'no chance'. Well guess who found it where the suggestion was made. So after contorting into all sorts of positions and poking away saying: 'Could it be here', I took initiative.

This was the kind of cache that I really enjoy, a bit puzzling and a bit of a challenge. Damn hairy guardian!

Found by MalapertMike and XU9J4 at 3:00pm.

You might need a torch.
You will need some old clothes.
You shouldn't need a topo map.
I do need Jenny Craig.
What is the vaseline for? Or shouldn't I ask.
But then again not. Is an all too true statement.
And decent swaps are very much in order.

Found the hairy guardian with a customary exclamation of "OH @#$%", then thought this is a Tangles cache of course there will be a suprise. What is it with you and dark holes Tangles, after two hours of squeezing and contorting our way around underground the cache revealed itself quite unexpectedly. Very tricky Tangles, very tricky. After the recent rains the river level was up and it was running for a change. I can see why this area would appeal to you, lots of good abseiling spots around here. We had a wander and found a number of bolts in the rocks, looks like a popular spot. Just a word of caution, we found a funnel web near the cache so keep your eyes open.

Took: Foam Gliders.
Left: Emergency Blanket.

Thanks again Tangles,
Mike.

26-Sep-04
Fourth time looking for me, brought along squishy and specialgal and they found it in 5 minutes... Took camera/watch set, left Neopets toy (Tamogotchi thingy), Foam Gliders and Astrojax.

29-Aug-04
Found it. Alot of bush bashing to get there(got the scratches to prove it). Just got back to civilisation before the rain came. Nice little hidding spot.Big Grin

22-Jun-04
wow! This one got the heart pumping. I may of parked the car on the wrong side because i had to do alot of bush bashing to get to the location. I would have liked to have planned this one alot better instead of doing it on the way home from the gym! Great hiding spot tangles. I took the mini chess set and left a pen i found in a geocache in california. Cheers

01-May-04
After deciding we knew where the cache had to be and searching for an hour we gave up. The hairy guardian was still in place but had no hints for us. I did try squeezing him to see if he had eaten it but nothing was forthcoming. Our first failure - we'll be back!

Came back with Zactyl for a second attempt. I'm sure we were looking in the right spot. Still no luck though.

25-Dec-03
After a hearty Christmas lunch we really had to tighten our belts for this one! Found the hairy guardian, then found the cache. Nearly used a whole jar of jelly on this one...swapped the map (get to Myall Lakes soon!) for sunscreen and earphones....Thanks Tangles

07-Dec-03
I think we were on the right track when confronted by the guardian of the treasure, but alas, were unable to find it... did find another, less hairy and very much more alive guardian when moving some rocks to search. Perhaps it has been buried under a rock fall... shall return another day!

20-Sep-03
Crunch! Was that my back?

After negotiating the squeezes, found the cache in good condition.

Left a topo map, took a toy car.

Now we can race!

11-Aug-03
Maybe we need Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig or the jar of Vaso but after over an hour of squeezing, contorting, bending, and stretching still had no joy. Got lots of scratches and a new pair of pants is needed. We will be back after a big dieting binge.
At least we got to try out our new head gear and petzl.

Wasn't that Squeeze in the 70's?

05-Aug-03
This British pop band of the late 70's had a hit with take me I'm yours..... So thats what I did. The cache was there for the offering so after the ease of CULTURE and the familiarity of TIMBER and proximity to DANGLE I nabbed this cache. Great location with plenty of potential hidding spots. Swapped a matchbox car for a travel game.
Thanks Tangles
