These pictures are from our front yard of the California Department of Forestry, fighting a brush fire on the hill just south of us by two blocks. This is a UH-1H Bell Helicopter with a payload capacity of 360 gallons of water. They had this fire out in about an hour and was amazing watching them in action.

The last of the last. This one was from long ago. Thanks for the reverse caches, they are (were) fun. Happy New Year!
This one is from the McLane firestation in Olympia, Washington. It is near Evergreen State College. Photos to be uploaded tomorrow.
this truck is park of the Corunna,Ontario CANADA volunteer fire dept. this truck is used to bring pumps to the ferry and then shuttled over to Stag Island (there are no vehicles on stag island so river water is used to put out the fires
this truck is park of the Corunna,Ontario CANADA volunteer fire dept. although this is an old truk it is still sometimes used
The Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department still uses this vehicle. This picture was taken on the Cardoza Farm near Petaluma, California. "Lakeville" is the area in south Sonoma County (California), part of the Carneros region. The land is mostly farms for grapes, horses, sheep, and cattle.
Thank you for the cache!
Thank you for the cache!
This is a fire truck located in Livermore, CA. It was right next to the fire house on East Ave. Thanks for the cache.
I was driving by the Lake County, Florida Fire Station today and the truck was parked outside with one of the firemen working on the gas powered saw. He was going to close the doors but I told him to keep them open. The saw case is on the ground and in the truck you can see generators, portapowers and a lot of other special equipment.
How do you like a Firetruck on top of a building! This is a local landmark in Downtown Newport Rhode Island.
It is an old one, hope you enjoy it.

We saw this cache a long time ago on the internet, but now we realise that you do not see fire fighting vehicules often. We needed to wait 4 months, and then we saw a fire fighting vehicule at a cross road near Oegstgeest in The Netherlands. The picture was taken from inside the car, and unfortunately there was no time to make a nice picture (with zoom).
Nice idea to gather pictures.

This is engine E-13 of the Waynesboro, Virginia fire department. We were working on another cache in the area when we found this truck parked across the street from the fire station!
I almost didnt think this was a fire truck because of the color. Its from the California Fire Fighters for forest fires.

Not active anymore, but located outside the Firehouse restaurant in Utica Michigan
Together with BigNav+Schnatterfrau we found this old company firetruck from "Bosch" near Tuebingen in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.
Merry Christmas Firetruck. Complete with lights, a Snowman, and an American Flag. Racine Wisconsin USA.
Went for a drive today to get some other caches and found this firetruck parked out front of the local hall. Located in Williams Lake BC Canada. Talked to one of the firemen that was there and he told us it was a 1998 Superior, built on a Freightliner chassis, with Cat power. Once a year, has a fund raiser, you can have your car washed, and this is what they use for the final rinse. Also in the summertime, there is a soccer clinic held in town, and on the last day they will take the truck down there and turn the spray on to a fog and let the kids run through.
This is two fire engines sat outside our local fire station. The fire station is in Plympton, Plymouth, Devon, UK. The station has a training school attached so there are severals different vehicles present at all times.
We passed by this beauty in Pleasant Grove, Utah USA. It looks to be an older Pierce truck on a 2 ton chassis.
Saw Indy's finest on US-40,it was Rescue Squad #7 ,trk# 1142 ,driving their 2005 Ford Diesel F450 Rescue Vehicle, these guys are good !
Ward LaFrance will forever be synonymous with the fire trucks it manufactured. With distinctive grills, optional fender skirts, and ultra vision cabs, any fire truck enthusiast can spot a Ward LaFrance a mile away. Their appearance is literally an industrial work of art and their performance is legendary. This one sets in front of restaurant called Firehouse Restaurant.
Below: a US Air Force OSHKOSH Airport fire response truck currently stationed at Utah Air National Guard base, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I think these have to be some of the coolest fire engines around: all-terrain, pivoting high-pressure fire nozzles (top and front!), and big and mean! The CoolCache crew loves these type of engines and even have a small 1/55 scale Siku collection of these at the house (see picture). Your picture of the airport fire engine=COOL too! Thanks again for the cache.
That was one of the hardest things to find for me: Before I read about that cache, I have seen fire fighting cars everywhere. Then, after, there were no firefighting cars to be seen anymore.
So I went to the central office of the firefighting in Vienna (http://www.wien.gv.at/feuerwehr/). It is located at "Am Hof 9" in the first district of Vienna, Austria. Next to the office there is a fire fighting museum, in front of the office there were some smaller fire fighting cars parked. I was hopping for something spectacular and huge. To get better shots, I took some through the windows, and some fire fighters watched me with big eyes. The GPS reception was bad, I have give the correct coordinates I have calculated.
Surfing for Information about the duties of our Fire-fighters I found the following (considering that in Austria those kind of animals are only to be seen in the zoo!): Im Juli 2001 muss aus dem Donaukanal ein ausgesetzter kleiner Alligator gefangen werden (Translates: in July a small Alligator had to be rescued from the Danube canal where someone had set him loose.)

Found this Fire Ladder Truck while coming back from doing some other geocaches. An older model which was built for Fort Madison, IA. I found it sitting in the parking lot of a gas station in West Quincy, MO. I,ve never seen it here before so I'm not quite sure why it is here.
I found this truck at my place of employment. It was in for repairs. It is a Kenworth T-300 chassis with a Haz-Mat box on it. This truck is used for hazardous material fires. Unit #52, out of West Jordan, Utah U.S.A.
I like amarican Fire fighting vehicels. Great !.. large and very intresting. But here in Germany we use mostly simple ones. The picture is the larges one of the Griesheim Fire fighting Station.

Not real exciting, but this fire department is at the front of my neighborhood, so I grabbed a shot of one of the engines.

A rather blustery day & I spotted this one sitting in front of the station as I was passing by.
We found these fire fighting vehicles at the Horry County #7 station in Myrtle Beach, SC. Thanks for the cache and all those who protect us!

This was a challenge. Given 9/11, we didnt feel comfortable going to a firehouse and taking a gps photo and reading. So we kept our eyes open for an opportunity away from the firehouse. Now we come across as ghouls at traffic accidents, so we decide that isnt the way to take the photo. So we will watch for them at the grocery stores that we routinely see them at. Suddenly there one was, right in front of us at the mall: the Fighting 209th, from Mesa Arizona. Mike enjoyed talking to them while taking the photo.
Saw this pretty old looking firetruck on the side of the road in Hong Kong's Sai Kung Country Park today. Seems they use it for training.
1st Mate Kimberly and Pirate 2nd Class Samantha found this one in a parking lot in the Salem, OR area
Peterborough Ontario Canada. This fire truck just happened to be sitting outside of Fire Hall #2 when I drove by today. Perfect opportunity! As can be seen from the lettering on the front bumper, it is the aerial truck for this particular fire hall. The aerial ladder will extend to reach about 5 storeys. Peterborough covers a fairly large area, so has a number of fire halls throughout the County. All trucks are reasonably new and kept in excellent condition. Unfortunately - or perhaps fortunately - we were unable to actually catch a truck in action.
Caught this Fire Engine on the fly responding to a call in Morristown, Tennessee. We were chasing caches on an all-day run while visiting the area and found this during the middle of the afternoon. No time to get a lot of details as the truck disappeared rather quickly.

Retired Fire Truck. 1942 American LaFrance. Manti Utah - Volunteer Fire Department.
While attending a geocaching event in Victoria, B.C., I passed the fire hall where fire fighters were washing one of their trucks. I was told this was a 1988 Mack, their oldest truck and they proudly showed me their newest acquirement, a 2006 Mack, a spectacular truck including a 105 ft. ladder. This fire department in a suburb of Victoria called View Royal attends 6-12 structural fires per year and responds to over 600 calls per year.

Found this very small fire station in Rhodes (Sydney), Australia which is under the control of the NSW Fire Brigade. As for the data and info requested, well, um, ah, it has 6 wheels and, um, a ladder, and ... probably a siren!
We found this one inside its home at a North Lauderdale, Florida Fire Station. Unfortunately, we could not get a better view of the vehicle.
You could see that one in Sherbrooke, Québec. I realized I forgot to include my GPS back home then to realize it was not mandatory. OUF!
This is just a pretty standard pumper truck located in Billings, Montana that my employer has for sale.
The oldest of the firefighting vehicles still in service in Aurora, Oregon - but the one with the most character.
The California Department of Forestry (CDF) Air Attack Base at Columbia Airport, California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. During the peak forest fire season they have 3 bombers, one spotter, a helicopter and a ground-support vehicle. They are able to have firefighters on the scene of a fire in a matter of minutes. The bombers can be refilled with slurry in about five minutes.
Found this one at the fire fighting training center on Powell Blvd. in Portland Oregon, USA
Another at the firefighting training center in Portland, Oregon USA. Training tower is in the background.
Found this one sitting out in front of the firehall in Dayton Tennessee. It's Sale Creek Vol. Fire Department Truck #2 and semi-retired but can still be bought back into action if needed.

I found this old GMC sitting out behind the SouthEast Lamar County VFD, the John Hill Station in Mississippi. It looks like it has seen better days and had recently had a fender bender. It's stickered ALS Rescue. Not many Volunteer departments can claim that. Thanks for the adventure...
The local fire house had an open house, in fact it seems all the fire houses in the city had an open house today. So I got pictures of Engine 23, a basic pumper.
fOUND THIS FIRE TRUCK ON DUTY AT AEROPORT OF MONTREAL,QUEBEC, CANADA. The mark of the truck is oshkosh.
I found these two fire fighting vehicles on Maisoneuve St. in Montreal city, Quebec, Canada. (N45 30.372 W73 34.191)
Well, I thought this was quirky enough to be logged. In the Skyway area of south Seattle (between Seattle and Renton) these two fire trucks are parking in someone's yard. We are officially claiming the one on the right, the red one, # 5. There is also a yellow one, #91. They have been there several years, and are beginning to deteriorate, as the owner is now tarping them against the weather. Have no idea was the story is behind them.
