Have decided to archive this one.
I reckon I can come up with a better placement in this area.

Although we enjoyed the 20 km round trip to this place, the cache was nowhere to be found and appears to have been muggled. Given the last seeker also failed to find it in February 2005, it was disappointing to see that it did not appear to have been checked in the meantime by the owner. The area around the sign has been cleared and our conclusion is that it was discovered during this process. We would suggest the cache is archived until it can be replaced.

Cache may be missing (was there last time I checked though). I am holidaying in the other end of the SI so won't get to re-check it for a couple of weeks.

I had a nice afternoon in Okarito, but couldn't find this cache. I poked around for a while with a big stick but didn't find anything. The bracken is very dense though. (Mrs Kiwijam)

No need to worry about cache concealment today---it took us quite a bit of poking about to find it. Took a dolphin and left a cache monster. Merry Christmas!

We always meant to drive in here so we are glad we had an excuse to do so today! The cache was totally exposed but intact. We covered it as best as we could.
+ white rat and took nothing.
Thanks

Thanks for the cache! This is my first visit to New Zealand, a naturally beautiful country. Took penguin; left Indiana University domino and homemade TB nashdino #0040.
Just got home so this log is a little late.

Happy new year! Finishing up a 2 week vacation here paddled out on the lagoon in kayak this morning and hiked the Trig Point trail & 3 mile lagoon in afternoon. On returning found the cache, needed the hint as the thicket is a bit dense.

Took the avon samples.
Left Inspector Gadget TB carried from the Chasm cache near Milford Sound, and for some more interesting variety a 1 Shekel coin from Israel, a wooden clothespin, some foam earplugs, a spiral wire paperclip, and some oxygen-activated heating pads.

Photo is a view of the lagoon from the top of the Trig Point if you care to hike - about 60 minutes to ascend/return plus time at the top admiring views.
