Being in the area, chasing some other caches, I couldn't figure out why there was a cache on my GPSr screen that I didn't have a page for. So off I went looking, I parked at S27°28.643 E152°57.986 and set off thru the scrub. After some 380mtrs of treking, I came to a very steep embankment, seeing a carpark next to the creek bed below, I decided to turn around and find the carpark, even tho I was only 80mtrs away from the cache. Back I went to the car, found the carpark without much difficulty, but to my suprise I was now parked right next to the cache, after some frantic searching, I gave up, and pulled out the trusty nokia 9210 and pulled up geocaching.com and pulled up the cache page.... to discover there is no cache. Perhaps it might be helpful (read: less stressing & strenuous) if this cache were archived? or move the co-ords and hide one?

Hi All...It was good to put some faces to names(handles?). We look foward to being able to hang around for the next meet. (Anyone want some really cheap Pork??!!)
As is your pleasure
you asked for re-measure,
and I report with delight....
after checking the sheet,
for this geocache meet,
the scoring is quite allright.
Banjo Bob
Hiya Doherties....
Time was not a measure of sucess (except for penalties on being too quick). Time taken to drive was only to be used as a tie breaker.
You beat out Team Manta, mainly on the post course questions.. There was only a small margin of points in the end....
I think your Tim Tams are safe...(Hmmmm are Tim Tams now an official Geo-picnic currency.... after all, Europe has the Euro!

Yep we found it.. Unfortunatly no car to do the rally. We finally got around to freeing the travel bug Bobin Ray by handing it to team Doherty.
S'pose I should log this... Good to see one and all again and the ones we had not met before.
I shall load the rally as a cache in the next week or so.
Cheers!!

Team Manta thoroughly enjoyed the day out and wish to thank the Dominant Duo for putting it all together. A good turnout saw some new faces meet some old ones and the final debrief involved a lot of spirited cache-chatter amid the tantalising aroma of Jfreak's, Bmac's and O's steaks sizzling on the hotplate.
The rally contest was deservedly won by the Dohertys who scored a delicious chocolate-covered booty for their work while the Griffins pulled off a major coup with their cheque presentation. Top effort!
Thanks, all, for a great day.

We found this day to be lots of fun. It was good to meet fellow cachers even though we were late arriving and slow to finish so did not have more time to chat. Thanks Dominant Duo this must have taken a lot of effort. A number of the places we went to were new to us and as always some great spots. Katie visited and completed the course

We came, we saw and we conquered ... apparently?? We don't quite get it and have asked Bob for a recount as we suspect we owe Team Manta some Tim Tams.
We had a good time and wish we hadn't have to dash off so quickly at the end.
Great to meet old and new faces
on the hunt for old and new places.
(Banjo Bob's poetry has inspired us!)
Thanks very much Bob and Darren for your efforts in setting this up.

On behalf of O and myself, thanks Bob and Darren for organising this spring picnic. We had fun even tho the socialising time was a bit short.

Took the direct route to this one with a bit of inside information. Nice to meet up with everyone and not too sure whether we should be expecting payback from Team Manta
Darn It!!!! Scored my self an early week!!! We will be there to say hello but will have to head home for 3:00 am start!!
I hope to make it to this, amongst other things on a busy weekend.

Hi All,
Did the drive last weekend for the rally... total length is about 100km and wee took our time, averaged a few waypoints, ate breakfast, and took about 3 hours to get done.
Please make sure you log a not if you are coming so I can ensure we have adequate copies of instructions etc.

Drat,
I will be competing in a 24 hour Rogaine that weekend near Kingaroy - finishing at 12:00 noon on Sunday. I don't think I will be in any fit state to be sociable after being on the go for 24 hours.
I have been a lot more active with Geocaching in the last 6 months and I was looking forward to catching up with everyone - particularly putting faces to the names who have been visiting my caches - hopefully the next picnic.
cheers
Paul

Albyalbatross&wendy will try to get to this one!! Is it a geohound friendly area (as in state forestry, hounds allowed on leashes in these).
AandM will have to check the calendars (at home and work) but if there is nothing else on we will be there.
