Found it with the gang on the New Year's Resolution walk. Stepped onto a grass covered stone and down I fell! Got massive bruise on my knees, my first caching injury obtained Very Happy

Great view from GZ, TFTC!

A top cache in top location... but has suffered badly over the winter. Hide is now a swimming pool and cache full of water. Temp log in place but swag and original log need replacing. Ammo Can would perhaps hold up better to the harsh conditions up here Wink Cheers!

Second last of the day and almost in the home stretch. The fog was thick as I left the boardwalk and I startled a large group of whitetail deer enjoying an afternoon snack. As I crept through the very boggy terrain trying not to startle the Venison... mmmmm Venison... a most marvelous thing happened... the clouds strted to part! All of a sudden I was getting glimpses, then full panoramas of what I had come to see!!!! Amazing! I had been very disappointed so far as the low cloud was relentless. Now I could take lots of photos and while the mist never fully lifted it added to the atmosphere. Once the final shutter had clicked I turned to face the near forgotten box... and am sorry to say it is in a sorry state Sad But! Some kind cacher has placed a micro with a dry log in the big box Very Happy Good thing too as the box is literally floating in a puddle in the hide which while lovely unfortunately forms a natural basin. Will need some help. An ammo box should keep the water out and be heavy enough it can even live there half submerged Wink

Ended up walking about 20km for 5 finds today, and despite the wind and rain and fog was a top adventure. Cheers from Australia.

Today we did a very strange thing. We set off for a purposeless stroll round the lake at Glendalough on our short visit to the Wicklow mountains. Several surprising things happened along the way. We did a 1200 ft ascent, the walk turned out to be 11 miles and then we happened to switch on the GPS and discovered a cache not too far away from the boardwalk. Sadexploration was beside himself with excitement and it wasn't long before we were sitting on a rock high up on the Spink, signing the log book. This was a spectacular walk with incredible views of both lakes. A very memorable day. TFTC
