Greetings from Geocaching.com
I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache insert cache name has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.
When repairs to this cache are completed and it is time to have it reposted, it will be no problem. Just drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. You will still be able to access your cache page just as before by going to your “My Cache Page†and clicking the link of your cache.
I will be more than happy to take a look at your cache again to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.
Thanks,
embi

What a great day! This was Kelvin and Sandra's first event cache and we look forward to more. Sandy nearly gave up while trying to find our first cache but perservered and we were rewarded. Found nine out of the eleven caches we looked for in the end and were able to answer most of the bonus questions. We do have some local knowledge so could find some of the bonus sites fairly easily. I guess that this won't be the case at other events though. Great to meet other geocaching groups too. Thanks Stumpyspud and J and especially Embi for encouraging us to come along. We're used to the 'four seasons'in one day so it didn't affect us much.

Many thanks to Stumpyspud,Embi and J for this wonderful event.
I was the bunny to answer the phone, I was the one who found the clue sheets, I was the only one who had the password, I was the first one back to the finishing point....... Hmmmmmm nowI know why we came last. I am begining to think that I am the MOLE! Thanks to all who came, great to see you all again and put some names to new faces.

Joe and Peter made up the GeoQuacks contingent for today. We both had a very enjoyable time. We’re sorry that we had to leave early, but there are a few things that need doing at home before tomorrow. This was our first event cache, and is the first time we have logged a cache first too, although this doesn’t really count. A couple of highlights from the day included meeting many geocachers who’s caches we had visited and messages we have read, the weather (everything from snow, hail and rain to warm sunshine), and Peter accidentally deleting the waypoint for the railway clock tower to find that that information carried a negative score at the end!
Thanks so much to Stumpyspud, embi & J for a most enjoyable day. We didn’t get any more of Ballarat’s caches done, so we will be back, but first I've got to try out the first embi signature item sighted on the mainland.

Well, despite the freezing wind, rain and hail (Ballarat's reputation is intact) a good time was had by Team Quasar (Glenn (Quasar), Sherri (Lasercat) and Andrew (Skyfox)). Early on it looked like Mission Impossible, as we failed the first, second and third cache finds. On the third one I fell in a roll of barbed wire and cut my hand, was just about ready to go home, when Sherri suggested a change of tack. We stopped looking for caches until the very end, and went for all the bonus points questions! Turns out the bonus points were worth more than the caches themselves, and we ended up winning, with some help from the team at the Tourist Information Centre who pointed us in the right direction to a few places. I couldn't believe it when our name was read out first at the end. I thought it was a Last to first list, and we'd come last! Ah well...Great job Embi and Stumpyspud for organising it, but please next time, arrange some better weather!
Was very worried when we all seemed to miss the first cache .... would this set the trend for the rest of the day?
As the snow hits the windscreen and the visibility starts to drop, and we are only at the second cache for the day, we have got to be in Ballarat! Why was I suddenly thinking of the Crowded House song -Four Seasons in one day- ?
The weather even added some more excitement to the event, and in the end we managed to located 7 of the caches so our luck did improve. ( After attending the Flashmob in Melbourne yesterday, there was a touch of familiarity with the expressions on the faces of the poor checkout staff in Coles - they must must feel that they ended up with the remnants from yesterdays Melbourne Flashmob )
It's great to now be able to associate some faces with the team names - nice to meet you all.
Thanks to Stumpyspud, embi & J for a great day!

Biggles Bear teamed with Team Boodi for this event. It was going to be quite a challenge to complete the task in the alloted time particularly after the red herring called Kirk's park. We made a spirited attempt and were most satisfied with our conquests. Despite the usual Ballarat weather the day proved to be very enjoyable and of course the highlight was catching up with old and new geocaching friends. Many thanks to Stumpyspud, Embi & J for their organisation. It was a grand day out.
team knowboats had a great day at his event, we went pretty hard at it - even though it was just about snowing. Jeremy refused to jump off the tower at the end (probably just as well because he would have caught a cold)
Mary & David had a wonderful time. Really enjoyed meeting new teams and renewing longer-standing geo-friendships. Don't know how many teams were there, but everywhere we stopped, another team would be just leaving or arriving. Lots of hilarity as we all tried to work out whose GZ was more likely. Congratulations to Quasar for taking out 1st place, and thanks to Stumpyspud, embi & J for the great effort in setting it all up. Something told us we didn't need ice for our esky. All we needed to do was leave it out in the open and the hail did the rest.
Unfortunately geofreak and nutcache won't be able to make this one (thought we'd give others a chance ) hope you all have fun.
Ogwo will be there. Pretty much rookies though, have only found a few caches with embi. But it should be fun. Looking forward to the day.

Team Derringer had planned on coming to this event, however an unforseen family commitment has cropped up so we will be unable to attend.
Have fun!!!

[B)]After discussions between Team Geocoopers and team Piggy a plan was hatched.
A supply of Piggy Rocket fuel was obtained for the Piggy Stealth racer ready for a Stealth mission across the border on the friday night.
GPS's packed, laptops etc, all looked good.
Until, The misplaced step on Saturday afternoon, met with a resounding KEE_RACK from a certain Piggy ankle ![B)]
Results appear tomorrow from the X-rays, but it looks like even if only Ligament damage I will probably miss the weekend .
Bugger...

team knowboats (aka lisa and jez, geocachers with stumpyspud) will be there and be ready to sail
Peter will be coming, but others are not sure yet. He is trying to persuade Kate and/or Joe to come too.
Thanks for organising it.
