This one had me stumped for a while. But suddenly it dawned on me.

08-Nov-05
Found location. part of a great day out

25-Sep-05
As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

02-May-05
Cache is definitely gone. Unfortunately we couldn't put a replacement in place due to some muggles literally sitting on top of where the cache location.
We will get back soon to get it going again.

30-Apr-05
Sort of. We found where the cache should be but it appears to be missing in action. Did have a good look around but to no avail.

15-Apr-05
found 3.25pm. Cache had fallen into thick grass but we were able to put it back where it should be. Wonderful views, didn't know about the lookout. Thanks Smile

17-Mar-05
Dropped by today and put in a new log book.

07-Mar-05
Someone was banging on the pipes. Quiet day apart from some kids sitting on top of one of the sheds having a heart to heart. Had my lunch while they solved all the problems of the world.

Log book is full. Someone has added a small piece of paper to write logs on.

Used to live down the hill a bit and spent a few nights looking at the stars from here so was a nice reminisence but the trees have certainly grown in the last few years.

28-Feb-05
Found this one on the way to work - no-one around so made the find straight away. This cache needs a new log book - you can of course write on the back of previous entries though.

I know its not very environmentally friendly - but wouldn't it be great if all the growth surrounding this place was cut back to 4 ft tall - what a view that would make.

It's amazing how you can look and look and not see things. Maybe an age moment. Walked straight up to it this time. It was good to come back the second time for the view anyway.

09-Feb-05
Found this cache whilst out for a walk. It took a few minutes to find. The view made the trek up the hill worthwhile.

19-Jan-05
Found By Bonzerben at 6:30pm

didn't take anything
didn't leave anything

03-Jan-05
Had to wait for a muggle to leave, but found it in seconds. The cache is in need of a new log book if you already didn't know. Excellent views.

Thanks for the cache

We had the place to ourselves but could not find the cache.

03-Dec-04
Well log book is sort of full... we're all now just being environmentally friendly and writing on the back of pages Smile

We got here at about 13.30 and spent 20 minutes or so waiting for some cars to leave. The people in the cars were just sitting there... judging by the way they looked & the way they looked at us, I suspected something unsavoury.

Went back at 16:45 and the place was empty, so we were able to nab the cache easily.

I thought I knew Brisbane well, until I started this geocaching thing. Great veiw. Log book is definatly full.
Cheers

Fantastic view as described. The cache is in good order, although the logbook is completely full. TNLN.

My 1st Cache
Have lived in this area most of my life and had never been here. Views were great and I could even see my workplace just down the road.
Great stuff

05-Oct-04
Managed to find this cache relatively easy on an afternoon walk. Did have to wait a little while for a group of muggles to leave though. I agree that the 360-degree view of the Brisbane city is spectacular, and a really good place to hide the cache.

03-Oct-04
Great views, I also have not been here before.
This was done as part of a 15km run. Started at Birkdale, ran 3km down to the train, caught the train through to South bank, then followed the GPS to the cache. Then on to the Grange.
Great fun, thanks

3rd of the looking series found this morning and probably the easiest in terms of lack of people.

5 to go!!

Found it after going home and reading the instructions. Nice view of the city and surrounds and brillient place to hide it. I would never have knowen it would have been there if not for this cache.

Thanks

Road here on my bike with a friend. We Bush bashed to the location and admired the view as we waited for the muggles to leave. Found cache easily took nothing but left a old Australian two cent coin. This was our first non virtual cache. We then went to Looking Good.

Thanks guys

30-Jul-04
Never knew this was here. I was going to leave when I saw some muggles. But they left at about the same time I was considering to leave. Waited, searched, located the cache ok.

Visiting from Melbourne. We've had a nice walk today between Looking Good, Looking Sharp and here. The Looking series is very enjoyable for interstate visitors. We look forward to the opportunity to complete it in the future.

Mmmmm another popular doherty parking spot I see !!!!!

Say no more.

27-Jun-04
Visiting from USA to my old home town. Used to live near here, but had never been up to the top before. Took a while to find the cache, thanks

26-Jun-04
What is so great about caching is I live a few km's from this spot and I never knew it was there.

19-Jun-04
What an amazing place - how do you find these places. This one did not require too much sneekiness as the one other person left when they saw us coming. Hmmmm?

25-May-04
As regards the question in the cache description: yes, this is probably the best view in Brisbane. The upside of caching at night is that you tend to see only what your torch beam falls on, which means that I didn't see any broken glass or syringes. [^] It's the first time I've been able to 'walk on water'--you'll know what I mean when you get there. Wink This is the last "looking" cache I need; I've done seven of the micros (and came unstuck spectacularly at "Looking Up" last night). Now, on to "Look No More"! Where's that taxi?

The cache is in good order, and was in its proper place. TNLNSL. If the log book is slightly damp, it's my hard-earned sweat after walking up there from Windsor station. Smile

21-May-04
Our first geocache find. Excellent.

Watch out for the broken glass.

Cache had not been replaced properly, but after signing the log book we replaced it properly.

Great view, but a shame about all the litter.

Took a coin and left a coin.

Happy Caching!!

02-May-04
Found it on a beautiful autumn day. Views are good. Be careful of broken glass. Syringe packets seen, but no syringes - wear shoes!! Took the dubloon to place further down.
Thanks for a great day out Dohertys!!

The McAlister Zoo keepers and some critters.

Another easy find, cleverly placed. Another nice view of Ciotach's former home town which she didn't know existed (the view, not the town!). Unfortunately we ran out of time and were unable to complete the Looking series. Next time Wink

11-Apr-04
Our first found cache! Cache is in good order with 2 pencils! Didn't know this place existed and we only live 1.5km away from it! Hint: you don't need to bush bash to get to the cache.

17-Mar-04
I'm pretty sure I didn't take the easiest approach for this one, but I got there in the end. It's amazing the number of angles you can look at the city from. :p

14-Feb-04
Found by Sweaty of HOT AND SWEATY.
Wasn't easy to find, but wasn't hard either.
Be careful of the used needles and other drug paraphernalia if you decide to walk aroung the buildings.

06-Feb-04
Found after a bfief look around.

Wonderful views.

At first I thought that the road up to this cache was private property which is why I originally drove past it.

It was fascinating reading the facts and figures of this place on the historic plaque.

Does anyone know if this place is still operational?

Greetings from the USA! Our screen name is the Crusaders. Right now in our part of the world we have several feet of snow on the ground making it difficult to go geocaching. We started to look for unique opportunites to go geocaching so we're trying to complete the "Where's in a Name?" cache detailed here. (visit link)

The coordinates we are trying to use are latitude S 27.4323 which intersect only 1km from this cache. If someone is planning on doing this cache, might we ask a favor of you? We need a picture of whatever is at S27.4323 and another picture of your GPSr showing the coordinates. The longitude can be anywhere as long as it intersects with 27.4323.
After taking the pictures, you need to log them on the "Where's in a Name?" cache page with a description. We then both get credit for the find. Any questions please contact us through the geocaching website. Thank you so very much and happy geocaching!

17-Jan-04
Visiting from Adelaide and had a couple of hours to spare while the people I was visiting were busy so hit a few caches. Nice lookout, found & retrieved just before a heavy thunderstorm. At least this kept the muggles away. No swaps. Cheers

30-Oct-03
What a great job! Made 3 muggles come with as I was having geocaching withdrawls. From the looks of things, 2 of them will convert into believers! Even with 4 people looking, I was the one to yell "found it!" Man does that make you feel great! Signed the log and left a German deutschmark which is a great finders gift as they don't exist anymore. Germany is on the Euro. I brought the Red Piggy TB, the Texas TB and the Toyboat TB by for a visit. Thanks for the cache - a geocacher from Houston, Texas, USA.

24-Oct-03
Found without any trouble but as this is a popular spot I had to be discreet when replacing the cache as a number of cars stopped unloading people admiring the great view. I had been here before on the gecache picnic but did not realise a cache was nearby. Fantastic effort Doherty's

Decided that going for a search in the middle of a thunder and lightening storm with an umbrella was better than watching the All Blacks humiliate Tonga! This was the first cache where the GPS actually took us right to the spot. Excellent view, funny that one of us use to live a few streets below.

Our first urban cache! Our ideas are forming for our own caches so watch out!

Took nothing left nothing, except for a bit of rain!

18-Oct-03
What a great view of Brisbane and surrounds... Managed to find the cache without any problems, but just as I was planning to replace it about 4 cars turned up, people jumped out and started racing toward the central point of the reservoir... After wondering what the hell was going on for a while, I figured out that they were on a scavenger hunt race and had to collect some information from the place... I think I prefer geocaching - much more sedate Big Grin

Found @ 9:35am. The day has begun. We (Billmeister and I) are going to see how many of the LOOKING series we can do today. Bill found this one, I was on the wrong side of the building. Now we are off to Looking Sharp, GCGT1N.

Baseline Benny and i made our first hit this morning on this micro. Fantastic views(have to remember this for nightime viewing). Wanted to show our appreciation so left a penny.

10-Oct-03
Made an early morning walk to this one and the views are magnificent so well worth the effort. Unfortunately there were too many needles lying around in the dirt for us to make a concerted effort to locate the cache.

28-Sep-03
Found this morning with some friends - their first time geocaching. The cache is in good condition and still in place. Now to do the next ones over the next few weeks. Thanks Dohertys for this fun series! Andrew and Maryan.

Sunday 28 September 12:40pm

Rogainer & miss Rogainer were here on our way home from kidspace. We looked around and around and enjoyed the views. It had been a number of years since I was here & had forgotten what great views there are.

Thanks Dohertys

While on our hunt during the geocachers spring picnic drive we can very very close to this one so didn't want to pass up the opportunity to log this, so we did, just like that. Then it was off again on our hunt for the place to fry our steak.

Found along with jfreak and 'O' while on the car rally. We walked up to the location, only to discover a road that went up!

Once again I had the entire place to myself so I found the cache without too much difficulty.

Quite a spectacular lookout and my last 'Looking' cache for today. Now I have enough info I can calculate the cor-ords for 'Look No More' but I think it may be going against the spirit of the series to miss two out.

Sorry guys, I didn't get to see your note about the broken pencil until after I got home from today's jaunt. I hadn't even noticed the pencil as, in an effort to conserve stash resources, I was using my own pen to write in the logbooks today.
Really had to employ stealth mode on this one as the area is very popular around lunchtime. I was there at 12.48pm (eating my lunch, of course!) and had to wait some time for people to move away, especially the car parked right beside the stash! From there, it was a case of quick in, quick out before the next batch of al fresco diners arrived.
Fabulous views again - what a great series this is for seeing the best of Brisbane!! Well done Tom and Judy - everyone's going to love these spots. (PS - I'm feeling extra guilty about the pencil thing as I won three dollars on the scratchy here!!)
Simon
