Easy to find. The coordinates are precise and, once you are off the track, I saw the cache in few seconds. Indeed, you do not need a pen to log the cache. The view at the lookout is stunning ! TFTC

Really enjoyed our day at Opito Bay such a beautiful place. Great having a cache up on the pa site with the amazing lookout over the islands. Definitely did not need to bring a pen. Thanks Hairy Little Dwarf and Fullofun for a great cache.

TFTC... and the extra motivation to get me up here for the smiley. Have always wanted to find this one during our community trips!

The stairs were definitely worth the view... water was beautiful! Only had time to do the lookout track and loop as we also had the tangata whaiora (yes... working and caching!) But definitely want to venture down to the beach next time

Cache was easily found after reading the hint as my GPS kept pointing me to a tree containing an object that could easily be thought as a GC... nope not that high!

Plenty of bics to nick... but left a bit of kiwiana SWAG for others.

Enjoyed reading the log description fo rthis one. A bit of a grunt up the first part but then not so bad. The views at the end were fantastic and well worth the walk. Quick find of the cache too. tftc

We came out this way to collect my son from his school camp on Urapukapuka Island. We enjoyed the walk to the cache and the kids liked looking at the different pens. Unfortunately not many still wrote. We would have liked to do more of the walks on this trail but we were short of time. We did manage to fit in a quick swim. The water was still very warm, TFTC

Visiting from Tauranga and loving the caching here. People have done some good nicking as the cache is pretty full of pens, so we didn't put another one in. All good fun! Worth the climb up on a hot day... oh and the view is amazing too... TFTC

#7073. Took the loop walk while touring Kerikeri today. Went anti-clockwise. Interesting history of the pa site. Great views from the lookout. GZ was all quiet when we visited. Quick find. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Another quick find, love the nic a bic idea. Added bonus of the day was the spectacular hour we spent down in the bay watching a pod of dolphins swimming close to the shore.

Visiting NZ from the US. Found during our tour of Kerikeri. Took some time to find this one. GPS was jumping all over. After re-reading several logs and the description, made the find. Fantastic view from the end of the trail. TFTH!

Despite shutting down my other caches, this one will remain active and maintained. Enjoy.

Why is it that when a tune is talked about, one then can NOT get it out of one's head. I was singing it all the way to and from the cache.[:o)] A great view from the lookout. Well worth the puff to get up the hill.

#470 After 19 years of living in Kerikeri and the other 5 visiting often, we'd both never been up to this spot. Wow!! Such a great view from up here and well worth a favourite point. We spent quite a while taking in the view and enjoying the sunshine. Found the cache easily and signed with a Colonial Court Lodge pen. TFTC- a highlight for our weekend!

This is my first NZ geocache! Met fellow cacher at the viewpoint who showed me the cache.

Part of a 25km kayak today. Great views of the Bay of Islands all right. Met some English/German tourists, one of them was a geocacher too, so showed her where it was. Her first NZ cache. Swapped tbs with each other.

I trundled down to the woods tonight in search of a Bic to nick
The sky was dark and the woods were dense, I was starting to feel a bit thick
The search was long and the search was wide
But finally I spotted the hide
So "TrustPower" goes in; "Northland Plumbing Plus" out
'Cause that's the name of the Bic nicked

This is a very nice place with lovely views to the bay of Islands. I don't quite understand what to do with all that pencils there but I don't have to. Took one of them to log TFTC!

We found it at 3pm. It was pouring down with rain so the view from the lookout was quite dramatic. Thanks.

Back into it after a few years away. A new name "hardcachers" but like the game. Found the cache and enjoyed the view. Left "make-a-wish" pen.

A great walk with the kids and a great spot for viewing this stunning part of the world. A quick find with Opa's assistance. Left BNZ pen. Took none. A fun theme. TFTC.

What a wonderful walk and the viewing platform is complete too. An incredible, Fabulous,panaramic view, well worth the effort. Nice hide de hole to. Just enjoyed the whole cache. Nicked a bic and added to. thanks for this one.

Path very wet and slithery - will try again when drier or with fewer children threatening to slip into the bush!

#71 was worried by the sign saying it was closed but decided to look anyway. Took a bit of a hunt to get into the cache area and then to actually find the cache. left a bic as i seem to recall. TFTC

Well what can we say Hairy Little Dwarf. Arrived at location just as it was starting to rain. Donned on parka's, strong shoes and a belief that we were going to find THIS ONE after our trek in the rain. By hey well worth the effect for the views. We left a sparking blue pen, and skipped all the way down.

2.00pm. Enjoyed the walk out on the peninsula with The Pud. The anticipation of the hunt energised us to fly up the steps and the ferrit in the scrub at the end added to the flavour. A good one HLD.

This was our last cache of the day. We were all pretty tired but keen to get just one more. Having done a fair bit of walking already that day, the steps up were a bit of a leg killer! But getting to the top was well worth it for the incredible views - what a neat spot.
